BiographyDagmund I Altberg has seen Weremark through decades of internal and external strife. After ascending to the throne in 1984, he launched many reforms which improved and modernized Weremark's economy, while managing to maintain the delicate feudal power balance. He has been generally marked by these experiences, as well as the combat he faced in 1991 and 2003, and most have described him as a reserved, stern man, with a hidden hint of kindness.

BiographyTwin brother to Queen Ava of Vandinium, Magnus was thrust into the forefront of Werman politics on the eve of his wedding in 2003, when his older brother's unexpected death in the Civil War jeapordized the future of the House of Altberg. Since peacetime, he has been trying to cultivate a family with his wife Mallorie. He is reportedly good friends with Emperor Treven and his sister, though the news tends only to report on his wife's difficulty at having children. He has cultivated a reputation as a worthy, modernist leader, yet has garnered criticism for suggesting that Weremark is too strict in its governance.

BiographyTwin sister to Duke Magnus, Ava has already been married off in political alliance to Vandinium, though she still commands a large deal of respect in Weremark. For the lack of a better word, the press knows her as an arrogant queen, if good natured, who believes she could have been a better ruler than any monarch in the Nevthronian region. Betrothed at birth to whomever the firstborn son of Jorik Narheim was going to be, the civil war, and Narheim's continually unmarried status, led to circumstances putting a wrench in her father's plans. She is an avid fan of cars and flying.

BiographyOriginally of Heimar, Mallorie met her future husband Magnus by chance, during the 2003 Civil War in Weremark. Though they had fallen in love first, Magnus had been able to secure permission from his father to marry her, in a much-needed political move. The main story concerning the news around the first years of her marriage had been her apparent inability to have children, however, these rumors gradually tapered off or were disproven. She is rumored to be an avid programmer and hacker.

BACKGROUND

Originally a conglomeration of Germanic tribes collectively referred to as the Weres, the Kingdom of Weremark was consolidated by Otto Altberg in 1041, after which feudal traditions gradually entrenched themselves in the nation's sociopolitical sphere. The Kingdom expanded throughout the first millennium, resulting in various tributary states and vassals, including Wahland. It is governed as an absolute monarchy with varying degrees of vassal control and popular input. It is considered to be a highly decentralized state, with defence, economics, and energy often relegated to the sole responsibility of regional vassals. There are over 150 bannermen sworn to the King of Weremark, among them Dukes, Counts, Margraves, and Jarls. Weremark holds a strong aristocratic tradition and is noted for its enduring sense of chivalry, a fact marking it as one of the few clear-cut feudal states remaining in the modern world. Culturally, it shares links to neighbors Heimar and Vandinium, as well as Artstotszka.
