QUEEN ALIENAS FURTHERS IWI SANCTIONS

Following the execution of Lt.Col Phillips by the Commonwealth of The Iwi Queen Alexandria has added further sanctions to The Iwi, this now also includes a travel ban on Maori visiting Mercia. The Queen had already imposed cultural, sporting and personal economic sanctions on The Iwi, however now the Commonwealth's diplomatic missions in Mercia will be limited, medical supplies will not be sold and the bank accounts of all members of The Iwi government will be frozen and finally the visas of all Maori in Mercia will be revoked. The Queen explained her decision saying, " The kidnap and murder of Lt.Col Phillips happened in such a manner that there is no way that our nation can now trust the Maori. A supposed passenger on a cruise ship held a man at gun point and frog marched him onto a helicopter in clear breach of international law. How do we know that any Maori coming into Mercia don't harbour the same intentions?"

The ban is to be enforced immediately and a travel warning has also been put in place for Mercians travelling to The Iwi, a spokesman for the Foreign Office said, "You can not trust the Iwi to abide by international law, so as such we can't guarantee the safety of those travelling to the country." It is suspected that around 800,000 descendants of Hassop settlers still live in The Iwi and these two have been warned about the potential threat to their safety.

The Queen Alienas has also called on the rest of the international community to impose their own sanctions saying, "The Iwi have now carried out state sanctioned murder in horrific manners, first actually clubbing a man to death, and then injecting a man with chemicals that gave a slow lingering death. This must be stopped, first I would ask no nation to supply The Iwi with medical drugs as who knows what they'll try next." So far no nation has imposed any sanctions of The Iwi.

TWELVE POLICE DEAD IN VIOLENT UNION CLASHES

As a protest march by Trade Unionists took place in Fernwood similiar smaller protests took place around the nation, nearly all turned violent and have left twelve members of the Police dead. The first violent clashes came in the capital as some 5,000 protestors marched through the streets calling for better protections for workers against automation. During the march shots were fired by some protestors at the under staffed Police, initially killing two officers and injuring a further three. As riot police flooded into the streets more shots were fired and by the end of the day eight officers were killed, meanwhile two were killed in Tibshelf and one each in Morton and Wessington, additionally six protesters were killed when Police at a roadblock in Fernwood returned fire as the crowd through explosives at them.

The scenes also saw gangs of protesters take to the streets smashing shops and cars as they rampaged through the streets. Local police struggled to contain the situation and Queen Internus Mary responded by permitting the use of armed officers in response to protesters using firearms. By nightfall she was considering calling in the military however rejected this as an evening rainfall seemed to disperse the crowds. Some 300 people were arrested on a variety of offences ranging from criminal damage to attempted murder. The Queen Internus has also indicated that she will permit courts to hear cases on a fast track basis in order to clear the backlog. Chief Councillor Zeke Gladwin spoke with the media following a meeting with Queen Internus Mary and said, "Today has been a dark day for the new era of Mercia, our Police were woefully prepared and failed to respond to the situation as it developed, sadly that has cost officers their lives and I give our nations sympathies to their families. We must do all we can now to bring those who would use the cloak of peaceful protest to mask their violence to justice and I urge anyone who truly believes in our nation to assist the police if they know anything."

Queen Alienas Alexandria was at a country retreat when the violence broke out but confirmed today that no request to mobilise the armed forces came. "Our nation must protect itself, and while I respect Mary's decision to not mobilise the military onto our own streets I pray this had been an end to the violence. The military should not be used to fight in Mercia."

Further protests had been arranged for the next few days but these are now under review.
