Conference Hall / Re: Proposal for a new RP Rule
« on: June 09, 2022, 12:01:04 PM »
Point 2 gives anyone who happens to write a two line press statement or news article an effective veto over another players RP. Now if it’s in the same thread I’d have no problem.

I think a press statement or news article is just as relevant as any other post. The latest issue could have been handled via what I'll call an IC retcon, discussions could have taken place, shifts in policies etc, adaptations etc. and as a result the Rokkenjima fleet never goes to the Krimeon. However what we got was the fact that myself and Heyra among others started to put in motion a series of things legitimately aimed at acting as a counter to it. Seeing this and various comments on Discord rubbishing the move it was retconned. Other members of the region don't deserve to be a beta test for someones RP. In reali life if a government misread a situation or deployment they have to PR themselves out of it. Only by not permitting easy retcons do we stop this continued (see Nova's post) misuse of retcon ended. It should be hard to retcon.

I think point two should stay. It encourages users to find a workable compromise and I'd hope that would happen meanwhile the RP Mod can step in if that doesn't work. If we don't place an expectation on people to try and sort their own stuff out with each other like grown ups then we make more work for the RP Mod and frankly at present the situation sees retcons wrecking other peoples work with no consideration. I also think that just because the latest situation appears to have been moved on from we shouldn't forget about this.

OOC- Better things to do than get dragged into the middle of you two having beef with each other. Can we just suspend both of them from the Assembly?

10000% support this. I'd be interested to know an IC reason for this latest thing.

NAVY HEADS WEST

Following announcements by the Rokkenjiman media that a Rokkenjiman fleet is being sent to the Krimeon to take part in monitoring operations against Heyran shipping the Commonwealth's flagship Arawa has left Hunters Bay heading into the Krimeon. The ship had only recently returned from work in the Kyne following a downgrading in Rokkenjiman actions against the Commonwealth. The Arawa was joined by an escort of destroyers, subs and frigates and is expected to undertake patrols, both naval and aerial. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence explained, "While we still maintain an active patrol in the East as Rokkenjima are said to still maintain an uspecififed number of pods in the region designed to observe us we are not confident that such monitoring will not also be happening to our West as a result of this new fleet. Our nation has never presented a threat to loss of shipping and we are concerned that once again our vessels and our merchant shipping faces unneeded scrutiny. In the past few weeks we've seen words try and calm the situation and now we have yet more Rokkenjiman ships passing close to and in some cases through water we operate in on a daily basis as part of our EEZ as this is heavily used by Heyran traffic." The Foreign Office have though stated that they believe the Heyran court announcements against Rokkenjiman officers to be "vexatious"

The MoD also issued another statement saying that all pilots being assigned to squadrons equipped for ground attack roles would now spending at least two weeks of training time in East Moreland at the Keepton Circuit, a low flying training area. The spokesman said, "Our nation is in terms of area much smaller than East Moreland and we can not have access here to such a useful tool for training. As a result we are pleased to be able to send pilots who will need these skills to a place to hone them. We look forward to the results in due course and the first 12 Moana fighter bombers will depart for Keepton by the end of next week.

Piripi was no stranger to East Moreland nor Princess Freya and as such felt at ease greeting her with a traditional Hongi and a less formal hug. Despite his many trips to East Moreland he'd never been to this historic site. Just as King David had several years ago Piripi was keen to be respectful to his allies past. As they reached the site of Greenflowers Piripi had donned his military uniform and kakahu, a large feather cloak showing his royal rank. Of course he first greeted King David warmly before approaching the memorial that marked the site. There the King produced from his pocket a Mere club and a piece of paper. He knelt and placed the Mere on the ground before the memorial and then loudly read from the paper.

Ko koe te mea i whakaekea ano he waipuke,
Takaia nga ope katoa ki te toto;
Ko koe i piki i runga i te puke
Ka moe nga toa ruha,
Whakaarahia ratou, engari kia mate
Me te tangi o te whawhai;
Ko koe, ka mutu te whawhai,
Tunua te kikokiko ki runga kohatu wera.
Teina o te whatitiri, toa ngangana-whitiki
Ka aroha nga toa ki a koe ake ake;
Te taonga me te mana
Kei tou ringa kaha katoa.
Nga ruru whenua
Nga kaipahua
[1]

With his respectful gesture done the King turned to Queen Atalanta. Hh lacked the friendship with her he enjoyed with King David and so instead of the tradition nose and forehead touch he opted for a handshake.
 1. You who, charged like a flood,
Wrap whole armies in blood;
You who scaled the hill steep
When the weary warriors sleep,
And awake them but to die
With the battle cry;
You who, when the fight is done,
Roast the flesh on heated stone.
Brother of the thunder, scarlet-belted warrior
For ever and for ever shall the warriors love you;
Wealth and power
Are all in thy forceful hand.
Earth-shakers
Spoil-takers

NATION DEMAND POSITIVE RESULTS

With the rugby world cup just days away the nation has begun to prepare for the tournament. Across the nation schools have made arrangements to screen games and pubs have ordered extra barrels of beer. It is expected, as always, that during games featuring the national team that the country will come to a practical standby. With the men's team being in action against a pair of Celtic nations a tough group stage is expected while the womens team must face hosts Vaguzia, Dal Rathia and Mkvartvelo. The national team are always faced with high expectations as national team coach Sepi Valakana explains, "To wear the black jersey is the highest honour for a professional rugby player. Everyone who comes into camp must work not for their own personal fame or glory but must bust their guts to ensure that when they leave camp they have done something to put the status of the jersey into a better place. Thats a lot of pressure but if we can consistently do this then we can achieve a great deal."

King Piripi has already announced his intention to spend some time in East Moreland during the tournament and is likely to cross the border several times to attend games. With Prince Kimo still recovering from a broken arm caused by an accident at the Ruku Puke Festival it is unlikely the youngster will travel. A spokesman from the royal palace said. "The Prince currently has several metal pins in his arm and is having to take a great care about not banging his arm and so being in a large crowd is not advisable. The Prince though is on the mend and should make a full recovery in time with rest and then physio."

FLT LT VAUTU TO COMMAND FIRST ALL MAORI MISSION

On the 24th June 2022 the Maori community will celebrate Matariki. This is a day when the Maori community remember the dead of the previous year and begin preparations for the year ahead. It marks the new year for the Maori and thanks is given to the Gods Ranginui and Papatūānuku. This year however a unique celebration will be undertaken. Flt Lt Vautu will command a three man team on a mission to the CNN Space Station and despite Roca Thumberaka being the first Maori in space nearly two years ago this will the the first time a crew made entirely of Maori will go into space. Flt Lt Vautu, a member of the Rongomaiwahine   Iwi said, "This is a very special occasion for us, first to show that the Maori are capable of great things and the second that we are as close to Rangi as it is possible to get while alive, the Sky Father has watched over us and on Matariki must be given great respect. We can think of no better way than undertaking this journey." The crew should, if all goes to plan, enter the space station that day and are expected to conduct some Matariki traditions on the space station including an offering of food, usually sweet potato, to the God.

The crew will spend four weeks on the station conduct several experiments and Lt. Vautu has two concerns, "Our first worry is that we may miss the rugby world cup final, we're hoping that with the CNN being an alliance built on rugby things can be worked out. Our second concern is that we will be expected to welcome our replacements and in our culture this will require a haka which is usually determined by the territory on which it is conducted, this obviously is going to be tricky in space but we welcome this oppurtunity." Renowned poet Rua Matutaera has been asked by King Piripi to prepare for the occasion.

"NEED FOR CLEAR MESSAGES" SAYS ROYAL ENVOY

Taika Sevasi has spoken about recent media reports emerging from Rokkenjima over the last month or so. The cousin of King Piripi is a respected veteran of the War for Independence and spent several years in a Seleucid labour camp, he now serves as Royal Envoy which is a position that involves him representing the crown both overseas and with the various Iwi's. Taika began by addressing the recent apology given by Crown Princess Asuna for previous behaviour by Rokkenjima being "insulting and disrespectful" The Royal Envoy stated, "We acknowledge the words of the Crown Princess and look forward to seeing where they go. I though will be advising my cousin to wait before talking. Apologise should be given face to face between those who lead their family, their Iwi or in this case their nation. At present we have words from a Crown Princess not an Empress. It may to the world seem a small matter but to us hierarchies are important. To have such matters see a King treating a Princess as equal in this matter is something we would struggle with. To then have a member of a prestigious royal family need to seek permission for actions such as even visiting our lands would again indicate an imbalance of power. Naturally we would extend our hospitality to the Crown Princess should she be given permission to come but the nature of the visit would be different. Should she wish to extend the apology upon assuming the position of Empress she will, I hope, find us just as ready to accept it as equals."

Just a few days after this apology however there was a huge show of naval power by the Rokkenjimans. "We have on one hand the encouragement of the Crown Princess towards co-operation and friendship. The next moment we see a huge showcase of naval vessels, that until recently were sent close to our nation as a kind of thinny veiled threat towards our efforts in bringing the Seleucid war criminals to justice. Rather than address this we see phase two of Operation Typhoon which sees our nation being watched by Rokkenjima. Meanwhile the Imperial address talks of the Rokkenjimans being open to removing sanctions against the Seleucid for their practice of a form of slavery while still not confronting their historic acts against humanity. Fragments of a Seleucid bullet remain in my body from being used as a practice toy for their medics while a prisoner of theirs. Many people suffered worse than myself and we demand justice. The world should be with us in ensuring this happens. It took several years to even get Yanni Tawfeek to a trial after he sought asylum and even then it was in East Moreland. While I understand the Rokkenjiman naval tradition when they talk of phases of operations then parade so many vessels its in our minds a clear message."

Finally Taika explained that King Piripi and King David of East Moreland have been in talks over a potential future plan to prevent a repeat of the Yanni Tawfeek situation. "My cousin and our friend King David have meet several times both virtually and face to face to form what we hope could be a useful future arrangement that would ensure not just those involved in our slaughter but also various other incidents such as the Cultist Genocide, Mavrosian persecutions and Uppsala incidents do not escape justice."

PRINCE INJURED AT RUKU PUKE

The Ruku Puke is an annual event between the different Iwi's that takes place every year. In this years junior event 12 year old Prince Kimo has broken his arm and is expected to undergo surgery tomorrow. The Prince is said to be "otherwise well" and has his parents at the hospital at Maunga Ahi. The annual Ruku Puke see's each Iwi pick a series of riders who collect banana trunks and tie two together to form a sledge. Riders then take it in turns to slide down the 300 meter or so long hillside which is at a roughly 45 degree angle. Speeds are often recorded at around 70 - 80 kmh. Even once the slope has flattened out the riders momentum carries them some distance and the one travelling the furthest wins. Each year there is a junior, senior and duos competition and this year Prince Kimo was one of those selected to represent the Ngāpuhi Iwi of which he is heir to.

During this years event Prince Kimo's sled appeared to hit a stump on the slope and was catapulted off his home-made sled and thrown a considerable distance. He was airlifted to hospital while his parents were taken by road. The event is used to injuries with cuts and bruises being par for the course. While none have happened in the last 23 years deaths are possible at the event which takes place in a remote venue. Large crowds had gathered and despite the royal injury the event continued. Each year a different Iwi is responsible for hosting the event and 2022 was hosted by the Rongomaiwahine. Their chief Mikaere Huhana spoke about the incident saying, "Of course we wish Prince Kimo well. He's a brave boy, anyone willing to take part in this event has to be. The combination of speed, the risk of friction ripping the sled apart or the unseen obsticles such as that which injured the Prince make it a risky business. Events such as this though are a central part of our cultures rich heritage and I'm proud our future King had the courage to try."

The event can trace its history back to the 1500's however was banned by the Seleucid between 1900-1971. Despite the event being banned several determined Maori still carried on the event in secret. One heroic tale tells of Sio Vahaakolo in 1964 riding a sled while Seleucid soldiers were shooting at him. King Piripi himself took part in the event as a 13 year old in 1977 after the Maunga Ahi region had been liberated from the Seleucid.

WAIRUNGI TAMUR SACKED FOR MISMANAGEMENT

Government minister Wairungi Tamur has been sacked by King Piripi for "gross failings that have embarrassed the nation." The 43 year old junior Minister was given the responsibility for managing the processes related to the Unified Iwi's membership of the CNN. As a result of his mismanagement it was reported that several significant steps to maintaining membership were not taken and as such the nation found itself suspended by the organisation. Following a lengthy investigation by the King's special Envoy, Taika Sevasi, it was determined that many pieces of paperwork were not filled in and payments for administration not made. Sevasi explained, "When we joined the CNN it was on condition that each of the Iwi's make an annual contribution to the central government which in turn would ensure all our commitments for administration and the like was covered. Mr.Tamur has failed to undertake that task instead spending much too much time on matters not directly under his remit." The Special Envoy refused to explain what these matters were only that, "His attention was not where it should be and the nation of the Unified Iwi has suffered as a result."

King Piripi has now taken direct control of ensuring the matter was dealt with and explained, "It is now the case that we have fulfilled everything we are expected to, we now hope that our friends in the CNN accept our apology and that we can restore the organisation to its former glory and then even look beyond that." Word has not yet come from Lodja, East Moreland or Ui Cenneslaig as to whether the matter is resolved but it is hopeful that the King will be meeting with the new Lodjain Queen in the coming days. "We are heart broken about the death of Queen Klara. I am proud to say that Queen Natalya is someone we here in the Unified Iwi are very familiar with and we wish her long and prosperous reign."

Following the drawn out and ill managed issue with the return of the Marseilles former army officer Cartier for trial it should be obvious that the wider international community view mindless beurocracy as favourable to justice. While the international system remains steadfastly resolute about bogging down the process of bringing war criminals to justice we shall not apologise for ensuring those responsible for the torture, cruelty and death brought upon our people face their day in court. Our court systems are open and transparent and any individual may attend these trials to witness justice being done. To date few nations have sought to co-operate with our desire to see some of histories worst perpetrators of genocide brought to justice. Should the international community take steps to ensure such things happen then naturally the Unified Iwi will support it and actions such as having to remove a known criminal from a cruise ship will not be necessary.

The Unified Iwi are today writing to our fellow members of the CNN to ask for your support in insisting that the Marseille military officer, Cartier, held by Achkaerin is handed over to the local government for trial on charges of murder. It is the right of every nation to see justice is done under its own laws for crimes committed to its people and on its land. We ourselves have seen how such crimes can impact a nation and we have taken steps to bring those against us to justice. The Uppsala Convention should be a tool designed to ensure those in conflicts such as ours, where a perpetrator has escaped justice for decades, are brought to justice on behalf of those who experienced the crime. We intend to in the next few days table an amendment to the Uppsala Convention to ensure that no single nation may rail-road the process and deny a whole nation justice.

Diplomacy and Events / A Request from the Maori to Arashkai and Tytor
« on: June 04, 2021, 04:42:30 PM »

To:- Prime Minister Madeline Thatcher &  Eshai-va Arkan VII Vahram ve Sherkoz

I am writing to you with a request that reflects a cultural movement within my Commonwealth to ask for permission to construct a area known as a Marae. Traditionally these are areas of cleared land bordered by either a set of marker stones or fence at the heart of which is a meeting hall considered a sacred site to the Maori.

In our cultural beliefs there are several significant connections between Maori religious belief and islands under your governance. As such I am asking for permission to build a Marae on the Arashkai island in the North of the Kyne and the island of Floodwater. It is held by those of us who believe in the traditional Maori faith that once upon a time the Kyne was full of island and it was be navigating through these that we happened to end up in the Commonwealth a long time ago. It is our belief that some of these islands became the resting place of great spirits and in the case of the Arashkai island the warrior Tongariro took the island as his home while just across the water his lover the female warrior Pihanga took up residence on what is today considered Floodwater. Such was the beauty of Pihanga many other warriors came to steal her away however the two lovers fought them off, thus explaining the lack of other large islands in the Kyne today. We believe though that the spirits of these great warriors still reside there. As such these two islands should have places honouring their spiritual power and influence.

Should you see your way to agreeing we would like to purchase a plot of land, no smaller than 100meters by 100 meters, with a view overlooking the Kyne. Upon that site we would wish to construct on half of it a hall as described. The hall would be in the centre of the plot and sacred fences or borders erected around the outer edge. In addition we would like to make arrangements by which pilgrims can gain access to the sites once constructed if possible.

I look forward to hearing from you

Best Regards

King Piripi, not of the Ngāpuhi but of the Iwi

It was grudgingly that King Piripi gave some respect to the Water Nomads. They had managed to sink a significant asset of the Morelanders and all without a proper military. It reminded him of the old days in conflict against the Seleucid and how proud he would have been if some of his units had pulled off a significant coup such as this. He though was pleased that those on board had seemingly been able to get away unscathed and now his own navy was en route to the region.

The attack though did give Piripi a thought. Culturally there were some similarities between the Maori and the Water Nomads, the main difference being the Maori had overcome the suspicious fear of dry land long long ago. Their culture still had a fondness for being close to the sea and their history suggested that, if anthropologists were correct, that at one point the Maori may even have shared common ancestors with these people. It was this that gave Piripi an idea. He had members of nations Marines who were specially trained for challenging operations. The Marine Operations Cadre were excellent sailors of a variety of craft and able to turn their hand to land based operations at a push. Where they had an advantage over any other CNN nation would be the fact these men were likely to understand the Nomads in ways the Cenneg, Lodjains and Morelanders never could. With this in mind he had sent a cargo aircraft to Gaia with two war canoe kits. The nation maintained about fifteen of these, usually for ceremonial duties and they could be transported by air with ease and assembled by the teams on the ground in short order, much the same way someone would make flatpack furniture. With the two vessels assembled and tests done on the small engines that could be used to supplement wind and muscle power the group set to sea. They were placing their money on the fact that boats of this nature wouldn't pass as warships and as such would allow them to get closer to the Water Nomad and make contact in a way the Nomads would give more respect to. The leader of this little expedition was Tama Roimata, a chief of one of the Iwi's and as such someone in a position of respect at least among the Maori. He was also a former Marine Pathfinder and had worked several times with this unit during his service. He was happy to be on the canoe and even happier when it was his turn to take the tiller. It made him think of the great adventures of his ancestors.

They had been at sea two days when they came to the first island they suspected was being used by groups of the Water Nomad. Tama took the decision to take shelter in a little bay and send a few guys ashore to check out the area. Meanwhile he and the boys not on sentry broke out the fishing gear to see what they could fish out the Alucard to supplement that evenings rations.

KING APPOINTS FIRST FAʻAFAFINE MINISTER

Today at the Royal Palace in Hunter's Bay King Piripi appointed the nations new Minister of Justice. Marion Kahira is a former investigator of the Otikoro Muhali Foundation and has acted as a witness in several of the trials of those accused of crimes against humanity during the War of Independence. Kahira is also the first Fa'afafine to be given a position in the government. The Fa'afafine is a recognised gender identity in the Commonwealth where a person is born male and will adopt certain feminine characteristics while also retaining an element of masculinity. In historical terms of the gender has been recognised througout all of Maori history and has traditionally been seen as a necessity when a Iwi lacked female's to complete traditional female jobs, as such certain boys within an Iwi were raised in a more feminine way so as to fulfill these duties. While the term Fa'afafine is less commonly used today it is one that Kahira is proud to use. "I am honoured to take this position as it gives me a chance to drive our agenda to bring those who saw our race as sub-human to justice. The Otikoro Muhali Foundation has done a great deal but it lacks the diplomatic and international reach. With me as a Minister it means we can extend that and hopefully bring more people to justice. The fact that the King has seen fit to name someone from a less traditional gender to such a key position shows that King Piripi recognises that the qualifications a person holds is what matters and not their tribal links, position or tradition. He has put the Commonwealth first and I pray I can fulfill his hopes."

The appointment has been supported by most Iwi chiefs however one unnamed Chief has stated, "The Ministries are an extension of tribal councils and rules. These form the basis of society and as such the Councils are a man's domain. Kahira may have been born a male but they are far from one now. The appointment should not have been made."

Kahira has already begun work on bringing more war criminals to justice by seeking to establish a transfer of her former employers files to government control and is seeking permission to task the Military Police with investigations.

The Commonwealth of the Unified Iwi are appalled at the action undertaken by a supposed royal member of the Lodjain nation. Endangering your own son, espeically one at such a young age, is an act of extreme depravity. The Commonwealth stands firmly behind its friends from Lodja and will lend whatever support we can. As such we will be accepting the Cenneg's kind invitation to base ships, aircraft and manpower in their nation should they be required. We hope these forces are not required and that Leopold Hamsik is soon brought to justice for the crimes committed against his own blood.

In unity

MAORI MUNDUS

Many places on Mundus have names used by the Maori that is based on the people's stories related to mythological stories.

Matilda Canals - Poka Tangi Te Keo (The Ditch made by the Monster)

Once upon a time two sea monsters, known as Te Keo, lived in the Krimeon Sea. This sea was contained to the East by a land mass (today would like Aranye and Ardia with Heyra in the middle) occasionally the Te Keo would see clear water in the Kyne and longed to investigate. One day one of the Te Keo used its strength to forge a ditch through the land mass and pushed Aranye and Ardia further apart and made its way into the Krimeon. Its sibling was smaller and weaker and tried to force its way through in the wake of its brother but the waves forced it back and drowned. Its body formed the island today occupied by Heyra while the creatures soul now wanders the region most of the world call the Matilda Canals.

The Lake between The Iwi and Jiayuan -  Lake Noho Te Atua (Lake Where the God's Dwell)

The God's of various waterways meet meet in the Lake. As a result the Gods have their own feasting hall and dwell there during the Winter seasons. At this time of year the lake takes on special significance and pilgrimages by the various tribes.

The Islands of Ikhan (Tongariro) and Floodwater (Pihanga)

Once upon a time the area today called by many as the Kyne was full of mighty islands each the spirit of a warrior. Pihanga was a female warrior who as well as being one of the bravest was also beautiful and the various other warriors fought for her attention. eventually Tongariro emerged the victor, winning Pihanga affection. The two warned the other islands to move away from them giving them the Kyne to themselves.

The Rokkenjiman Island in the Rokkenjima Sea - Taranaki

The island was one of those who fought for the attention and love of Pihanga and lost. As he moved away he cried in sadness of being lonely and his tears formed what is today called the Rokkenjima Sea by many. To the Maori the Rokkenjima Sea is known as Roimata Taranaki (Tears of Taranaki)

King Piripi would have prepared to meet in the Commonwealth. It would have meant it would be much simpler to see the various traditions that a Maori meeting would undertake. Still a meeting with a neighbour was important and so he accepted the offer to go to Xokklesi. He arrived early in the morning by car with a small group of advisers and a small military escort. He waited patiently on his side of the border for the Cassiopeians to arrive not wishing to disrupt any rituals the Queen may need to adhere to for people in her nation.

To:- Empress Evanthe of Rokkenjima

As you will hopefully be aware the CNN are currently meeting for their annual conference. As part of this meeting a new CNN policy has been put in place. As such we are formally requesting the extradition of  Lt. Yanni Tawfeek and those arrested upon his arrival in Rokkenjima. As you have already refused to extradite them to the Commonwealth of the Iwi our request is that they be extradited to East Moreland where they shall be given a trial judged by four judges, one from each nation. Should a guilty verdict be reached then sentence shall be determined by Moreland laws. It is our hope that this will see the accused war criminal handed over to East Moreland's Military Police as soon as possible for transfer to Ostlake.

King Piripi looked serious. "We applaud the idea of rounding up anyone who trades with people utilising slavery in any shape or form. I think us having a law that is pretty much uniform on the matter will send a clear signal to our people that we shall not allow those involved in slavery to profit regardless of nationality. I do however have one condition. This can not just apply to our own citizens, should for example it become clear that an Alander for the sake of this illustration sell raw materials to a Tamoran factory using slaves and then that Alander visits Lodja they need to be arrested. If this is the case then I will fully throw our support behind it."

"Now as we come onto the courts issue. I do not like to say this but I believe Mr.Bone may be correct however I do not like it. We will subscribe to this approach however we would like to see a situation where any nation that refuses to comply with any of the steps we have outlined are denied extraditions until such a time as they comply. This would first mean that Rokkenjima would be the focus of an initial push. They currently have a number of individuals who carried out criminal acts actually in our country from Seleucid. If we are to agree to this then I would expect us to immediately announce we expect them to be handed over and until that time there can be no extradition to Rokkenjima from East Moreland, Ui Cenneslaig, Lodja or ourselves. Our only other condition would be that the trials must be conducted in East Moreland as suggested this way we would be able to have the death penalty for those convicted."

"If there is no financial cost to our nation via this project then we withdraw our objection and wish the project well. Naturally should it produce results that would suggest a CNN version of this environmentally monitoring satellite is useful." Sevesi concluded.

"The Commonwealth is in much the same situation as Lodja in that we are devoid of our own domestic space programme but excited to be able to contribute through the CNN to exploration and research. We've already a long list of people wanting to use our Radio Telescope and of course it will be patched into the network that the Cenneg have set up. While we do not intend to stand in the way of space exploration or space operations I however feel that we must make a point about the Lodjan project, we understand its need and its usefulness however we would not think it appropriate to be done under a CNN flag. Both Lodja and Ui Cenneslaig are parts of TUNA while East Moreland and ourselves would get no use or benefit from the proposed satellite. I think therefore with this being a project that only benefits 50% of the CNN membership it shouldn't be one that two of us are asked to support in a financial sense. Now should the Cenneg or Lodjains believe for example that EMAC or SmartWar can contribute something positive I suspect the Morelanders would not stand in the way of their nations companies selling hardware or technology. I wish the project well but I don't think our people would appreciate us funding such a project when it is one better pursued through regional organisations." The King's cousin Taika Sevesi said on behalf of the Iwi.

There were a few hushed discussions before Taika Sevesi responded. "Are we expecting each nation to specialise in one branch of the STEM summer school or would it rotate. I think personally I would like to see it rotate round as that way we can each get a good look at the graduates soon to enter the workplace, we can also set things up in such a way that there can be some benefit to the host nation. So for example the Commonwealth have a decent maritime engineering outlook, we would if given engineering focus on that which sadly if it was always here would mean things like civil engineers may not get an opportunity. If the schools are rotating then we support this idea."

It was time for the final security review and in some ways it may be the most complex. It was left to Hori Pohatu to explain. "The Commonwealth is still on standby. We have problems with the Seleucid of which you are all aware. It is vital that we do not permit their war criminals to find safe ground however that is difficult. We'll strike where we need to in order to ensure they are brought to justice. We realise however the Seleucid are not willingly going to hand them over. Additionally we are also responsible for helping ensure the security of southern end of the Matilda's. Additionally we have seen the Seleucid attack our security forces in the past, currently we've the Rokkenjimans harbouring several of their operatives. We've seen the Seleucid invest in their military over the last 12 months and now this is something we ourselves must look at doing. While we are keen to retain an arms industry within the Commonwealth we shall be in the coming months be looking at asking our friends in this room to perhaps aid us. We pruchased the Dragonling some time back off the Morelanders and have been pleased with how its gone, we have also purchased some ships from the Cenneg which are serving admirably. What we lack however is the high tech solutions the other three of you have. I hope that in the coming days we can look at our procurement situation. That concludes our security review"

"The Commonwealth supports these matters meaning that now we have a series of unanimous amendments and additions." Piripi announced.
