It has been confirmed that New Derusmia will be taking part in this year's Mundus Rugby World Cup. The New Derusmia team, named by fans as the N.D. Stars, have been spotted at Erejen Stadium training hard for the coming up games. When we interviewed Daniel Hussey, the team captain, he said to us
"The whole team is super hyped to play in Bakkermaya for the group games. The training we're currently getting is pretty tough, but I think it'll be worth it. On behalf of the team, I'd like to say good luck to every team participating."

Today, the New Derusmia Rugby team departed from Metria Int'l Airport on two private jets to Northern Alucard for the upcoming Rugby World Cup. the team left after much delay due to the extreme weather in the Southwest. To wish the team farewell was a large crowd of fans, which almost delayed flights departing from Metria. Before leaving, the team manager said to us:
"The N.D. Stars are ready for anything that gets thrown at them, no pun intended."

EAST METRIA AIRPORT FINISHES CONSTRUCTION

Today, the Department of Transport announced that New Derusmia's newest and largest airport has finished construction. Located in the Eastern District of the capital, East Metria Airport is made up of four terminals, six runways, one hundred and seventy three large aircraft parking bays, and can handle up to 90 million passengers. The airport has many retail areas and is fitted with state-of-the-art facilities.

NEW DERUSMIA SPACE AGENCY HQ FINISHES CONSTRUCTION

After years of construction, the brand new NDSA launch site and HQ has finished construction in Ardem City. This project is to replace the abandoned Derusmia Space Center located in the Quinntopia Peninsula. The new site contains new maintenance machinery, hangars, and brand new equiptment. When asked earlier, NDSA director Braith Lengmen said to us that the new project will 'revitalize the Space Agency".
The first rocket to be launched from the Ardem HQ will be the recently built Collosus II, named after the first rocket that launched from the Derusmia Space Center in 1989.

SANCTIONS AGAINST ROKKENJIMA TO BE LIFTED AND STATE OF EMERGENCY TO CEASE
Today, negotiations at the Ardian Assembly HQ proved to be successful as a resolution was agreed on by New Derusmia, Rokkenjima, and the SICR. The resolution, written by Grand Duke Lascelles, states that "No nation in Ardia shall exchange money, goods or services for a person held in servitude, nations of Ardia shall adopt as a trading standard that only goods bearing the Freestone Mark may enter the continent, and nations of Ardia agree that they shall deny financial or material support to any Tamoran business that does not hold the Freestone Mark." The resolution also states that should all three nations agree to the resolution, that all sanctions be lifted.
Meanwhile here at home, the state of emergency has ceased. All citizens are permitted to travel back to Rokkenjima if needed and the New Derusmian embassy in Rokkenjima shall reopen.

THE SOUTH ARDIAN NEW ELECTORATE IS FOUNDED

Yesterday, the President, along with Minister Korhann, returned home from meetings in the SICR. New Derusmia, along with the Second Imperial Chinese Republic and Quintelia, founded the South Ardian New Electorate, an alliance that promises to benefit the economy and military of all nations in the alliance greatly. The alliance has already planned to build emergency stockpile warehouses in many major cities in New Derusmia.

ARDEM CITY PORT EXPANSION FINISHES CONSTRUCTION

Ardem City Port, located in Ardem Harbour, has recently finished construction on a large expansion, almost twice as big as the original port. The Minister of Trade and Industry commented today that “This couldn’t have come at a better time. Now that we have SANE and possible open trade agreements with the Orphela Imperium, and obviously higher ship traffic, the economy will be sure to rise.”
The new expansion now has three new cruise terminals and seven new cargo terminals. Estimates say that this expansion will make it one of, if not, the most largest ports in Ardia and the world. A Heyran Shipping company has also already bought the right to operate one of the terminals located in the port.
The expansion began construction in 2015, under the Veswalsh Administration. Rail and road links have also been constructed to allow access to the newly constructed cruise terminals.

Following the news that Slava Lavosk has finally tested a 30kt Nuclear Bomb, The President has announced that sanctions will be enacted on Slava Lavosk. He today addressed the public in the following speech.
”To all citizens of New Derusmia. It has come to our attention that Slava Lavosk has successfully tested a 30kt nuke. Of course, us Derusmians remember the Valter City incident, and what effect it had on the people, the country, and the land. NEW DERUSMIA TO PARTICIPATE IN FORMULA MUNDUS 2019
Today, the MMA announced that Formula Mundus 2019 was beginning, and will be starting in our Capital City, Metria. Samuel Devo, one of New Derusmia’s best Formula 1 drivers, commented before leaving his Lilleston City Residence: “This is New Derusmia’s first time in an international Formula 1 event, so I hope that we can prove ourselves worthy amongst the seniors. I’m truly honoured to be racing with our team, and I wish good luck to all the competitors.”

Just yesterday, New Derusmia sent a bid to the Mundus Games Committee to host the 2019 Mundus Summer Games. Much citizens are ecstatic about this, and hope that New Derusmia will win the bid.
The government has planned to hold the Games in the capital of Metria, where most of the events will be also held. The bid also specified that multiple football (soccer) stadiums from last years bid to hold the MFA World Cup will be utilised for the upcoming soccer events.
Meanwhile, athletes all over the nation are preparing and training vigorously for the upcoming games. From everyone at DWBS, we wish our athletes good luck.

RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA LEGALISED

Just over an hour ago, the Domestic General Assembly voted to legalise recreational marijuana, bringing in a mixed array of responses. Many are ecstatic about the recent changes, and some are worried that the change will increase the crime rate.
Liberal Party Leader Sayid Famahad commented, saying
“Really, this is something historical. Normally, our nation is extremely strict with these sorts of things, but today’s the day that all changes.
We see nations such as Quintelia who have legalised these recreational drugs, and their economy is greatly benefited by the sales of these products, and hopefully, the same will happen for New Derusmia. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed that this couldn’t have happened sooner.”
However, Communist Party Leader Bjorn Benneck disagrees.
“These ‘Recreational Drugs’ you speak of are dangerous to the human body. They are filthy and unholy, and should’ve stayed banned.”
Many agricultural companies have already began planting marijuana plants, and many businesses are preparing for their first shipments of the products. The law will take effect next week.

Yesterday, the state airline New Derusmia International Airways announces that it would begin supersonic flights between Veena and Ardem to Tsargrad and Williamshaven. These routes will be flown by the new Matteus 500 SST aircraft, reducing the flight time from 15 hours to 7.
The first flight from Ardem to Williamshaven is scheduled for tomorrow at 12:30PM.

The routes we have chosen for the Matteus 500 are all coastal city to coastal city to reduce the effect on the environment and those living inland.

Today, SANE voted to go forward with the Unity Project. This space research program will involve the launch of a swarm of 13 micro-satellites into Near Earth Orbit. These satellites are controlled by solar sails, and are equipped with ground-breaking technology. These satellites will record data from nearby meteors heading toward Mundus.
Braith Lengman, director of the New Derusmia Space Agency was interviewed following the announcement by SANE.
“What makes the Unity Project so unique, is that it will bring the nations of SANE and Ardia together to collaborate and unite, hence, the name. New Derusmia, Quintelia, the SICR, Josai, and Parvitr Parvat will all be involved in order to make this possible.”
The spacecraft and its payload will be engineered and designed by the top personnel from all over Ardia. In addition, fuel being used will be sourced by Quintelia, the computer systems will be manufactured by Josai, and the metals being used will be processed by Parvitr Parvat.
Currently, the project is under development, and the launch date is set in between 2020 and 2021.

UNIDENTIFIABLE CARGO TRAINS BEGIN TRAVELLING ACROSS THE ND - SICR BORDER

Beginning today, a large array of cargo trains have been spotted travelling across the New Derusmian - SICR border carrying an unknown, heavily protected cargo. The trains carry heavily armoured carriages, and are usually carried in batches of 10 - 25. Said carriages are emblazoned with nothing but Dragonaii Government seals and identification codes. Attempts to track these ID’s have been futile.
Residents in Northern Nordheit have speculated that the cargo these trains carry are military equipment, such as ammunition. Other day they carry classified technologies being used for the recently announced Unity Project. When asked, a New Derusmian government spokesperson refused to give a proper answer, saying that the cargo of these trains was a “classified military secret.”

UNIFIED MARITIME FORCES PURCHASES AQUITAINE NAVY CORVETTES

Yesterday, the Unified Maritime Forces purchased a number of 4 ‘Waverunner’ corvettes from the Duchy of Aquitaine’s Navy for a cost of 70 million per ship. This news comes following an announcement by the Commander-In-Chief stating a future expansion of the Unified Defence Forces, especially in Maritime and Aerospace.
When questioned, he stated “These ships will fulfil the role of patrolling the nation’s shores perfectly due to their size and speed. These ships are among the fastest military vessels in the world.”
Once in New Derusmia, the ships will be reclassified as ‘Light Corvettes’ due to their size in comparison to other military vessels. Currently, a competition is being held amongst the public by the government to name the aforementioned ships.
PRESIDENT APOLOGISES FOR “COVFEFE” TWEET

Just under an hour ago, this tweet was release from President Ebston Feish’s account. The tweet comprises of one word, “covfefe”.
Many have speculated over what the word means, and just moments ago, the President released a statement saying that
“This tweet was released accidentally after one of my young nephews had taken my phone this morning and somehow managed to get onto my Twitter account. It still intrigues me as to what the word ‘Covfefe’ means.”
The tweet has quickly become viral, having already gathered over 1000 retweets within one hour.

FREQUENCY OF SICR MILITARY CARGO TRAINS CROSSING THE BORDER INCREASES
Following our recent story on mysterious armoured freight trains frequently crossing the ND - SOCR border, we have recieved more reports of these trains. The train have now become a common occurrence, with a train passing by the border town of Verbün every 30 minutes. In fact, the town itself has now gathered countless rail-fanning communities due to the higher traffic and unique trains on the railway line.
Interestingly, a new type of cargo was reported by this community. What appeared to be an extra armoured, extra long carriage emblazoned with a SICR military seal was seen being carried by one of the usual trains. It has left many to speculate what was in this special carriage, however the Unified Defence Forces has released a statement advising “not to take any recordings or footage of the trains, and refrain from sharing them online, as it may compromise classified military info.”
The DWBS Nordheit Team had attempted to follow one of the trains into a rail yard ,but were halted and turned back by military personnel upon arrival.

MILITARY EXPANSION “IN FULL SWING”
Today, the High Commandant of the Unified Military Forces made another statement to the press about the ongoing military expansion.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the military expansion is going perfectly, and is in full swing.
As said in my previous statement, we have decided to undergo this expansion because of the current state of the political world. From all around us, power hungry empires vie for control of Mundus, and feed off the weak. New Derusmians across the land refuse to be slaves to any nation, and as such, we will take the following steps to ensure the protection of our land for the years to come:
- We will be selling off our outdated fleet of 55 Tchaikov MulRo-1 aircraft in favour of the newer Tchaikov MulRo-3. We plan to build 120 more new aircraft.
- In order not to fall behind in technology, we have chosen to collaborate with Nishida Aeronautics of Josai to modernise our entire fleet of Tchaikov AirSup-2 within the next year.
- We are currently investing heavily into Early Warning Systems in the sea, air, and ground in order to mobilise our forces quicker against any sort of attack.
- We plan to obtain at least 7 more new stealth submarines and at least 3 more destroyers to expand our navy.
- The purchase of 500 [REDACTED], 15 [REDACTED], and 750 Long Sword Sentries, all of which have now been delivered from the SICR.
This is only the beginning, as we plan to expand our military, well into the future.

UNIFIED MARITIME FORCES ORDER MILITARY VESSELS FROM THE SICR

A Sea Serpent Strategic Nuclear Attack Submarine from the SICR’s Imperial Navy, one of the types of vessels ordered by the NDUMF.
As part of the ‘Great Military Expansion’, last evening, the High Commandant announced the order of one Sea Serpent Strategic Nuclear Attack Submarine, two Wolf Class Attack Submarines, and two Hanyue Mark II Replenishment Oilers from Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding GLC of the SICR. As stated by the Supreme Commandant, “The purchase of these ships was to increase the submarine strength of our mostly surface vessel navy.”
The move has recieved positive reception from Derusmians and Chinese alike. The High Commandant also commented, saying “These ships will allow us to not only increase the might of our navy, but will allow us to strengthen the alliance between New Derusmians and the Chinese.”
The first Replenishment Oilers will be arriving towards the end of next year, with the Wolf Class and Sea Serpent submarines arriving mid to late next year for trials and integration. Imperial Seamen will also be visiting to train New Derusmian seamen in operating the said vessels.
The High Commandant also noted plans on ordering more vessels from CASC once integration was finalised. There are also plans to christen the first Sea Serpant Submarine as the NDDS Jinduming, in honour of the SICR’s Emperor-Admiral.
NDDS ERIKA AND SISTER SHIPS BEGIN COASTAL PATROLS

This morning, the newly named Light Corvette NDDS Erika left the Central Coast Defence Center to begin her first patrol run of the Southern Derusmian coast. The Maritime Commandant was onboard the Erika when he commented: “The purchase of the former Aquaitaine Light Corvettes allowed us to free up some of our own ships for seperate, overseas operations. This was definitely a good move.”
The NDDS Erika’s sister ships, NDDS Monika, NDDS Joselina, and NDDS Merlinda, will begin coastal patrols over the coming week. This news comes following a decision by the NDUMF to purchase four of Aquaitaine’s Waverunner Corvettes.

Today, Mærsk CEO Skoren Skou announced the completion of the first Metria Class container ships, the MV Mærsk Metria and MV Mærsk Erejen. Successor to the Concordia Class, these brand-new ships are “far larger, far more efficient, and most importantly, have less of an impact on the environment.”, said Skou when questioned about the new ships. “They are the flagships of the Mærsk fleet, and will continue to largely contribute to the economy for as long as they live.” The Metria Class is designed to be 399 meters long and almost 60 meters wide, making the class the 5th biggest container ships in the world. “We’re going to be building 20 more of these beautiful vessels in the next few years. This is just the beginning.”
The ships are now undergoing testing close to the coast, allowing for a spectacular view of the gargantuan vessels from the nation’s beaches. The MV Mærsk Metria will be the first to go into service, when it will go on a maiden ‘around the world’ trip, carrying a valuable cargo of rare metals. The route is as follows:[1]Lungsod City; Quintelia, Koduuma, Sinsu, Port Huohai; the SICR, Gaia; Lodja, Bakkermaya, Paracambi, Port Monsoon; Floodwater, Ashinxao; Rokkenjima, Williamshaven; Tytor, and back to New Derusmia.

As promised by the Supreme Commandant, the sale of 45 Tchaikov Mulro-1 Aircraft has started.
The aircraft were first introduced by the old Republic of Derusmia in 1962, and were heavily utilised in the Civil War, especially in the bombing of Veena City and Battle of Kaunderstein. Afterwards, they were inherited by the Southern Socialist States of Derusmia in 1972. Following re-unification in 1985, the aircraft were given major upgrades, but have not been upgraded since.
5 of the aircraft will be kept and spread in museums across the country, and 5 will be kept in storage for future uses, such as ceremonies. The aircraft will be sold for 10 million dollars a unit, and the money made from the sales will go toward funding to purchase of 150 new Tchaikov Mulro-3 aircraft.

The DGA passed a resolution that will allow New Derusmia to support the Rebels in MidAranye.
Today[1] The Domestic General Assembly voted 92-6 to support the Clypseri Confederacy. This news comes following a recent outgoing message from the President of the Confederacy, President Nekhtou.
The resolution states that the New Derusmian Unified Military would be sending support, on the condition that the Confederacy returns all stolen artefacts, and ceases any activity in breach of the Uppsala Conventions.
President Feish has stated that a message has been sent back to the Confederacy’s leadership.

BREAKING: Casualties are estimated to be over 3000 as 17 bombings and terror attacks unfold across Tytor.
Just minutes ago, 17 coordinated terror attacks took place in Tytor, wreaking havoc on the nation. The death toll is estimated to be over 3000 and over 5000 are estimated to have been injured as a result of the attacks.
We are also receiving reports that the Decapolis Twin Towers have collapsed after two Tytor World Airways aircraft both crashed into the towers. It is unknown how many Derusmian citizens have been affected in Tytor by the attacks.

BREAKING: New Derusmian Airspace is placed under lockdown, and Condition Unsicher has been announced.
Following the recent attacks in Tytor and East Moreland’s announcement to lock down their national air space, New Derusmia has decided to follow pursuit, grounding all flights, and turning away incoming flights for the entire day. Places of national importance have also been placed under lockdown, such as Canton and Federal Government offices, legislatures, and buildings. Landmarks across the nation have been placed under lockdown, and military police has been deployed to city centres across the nation. All this happened, following the President’s order to raise the National Defence Condition to Unsicher, though there are plans to increase the the level to Condition Möglich, due to the severity of the attacks in Tytor.

BREAKING: A large number of New Derusmians have been confirmed dead and many more injured as a result of the recent Tytor terrorist attacks according to the New Derusmian Embassy in Tsargrad.
Today, the New Derusmian embassy in Tsargrad, Tytor, released a statement on the number of Derusmian fatalities and injuries due to the recent terror attacks. The announcement was made earlier today on live television. A spokesperson for the embassy delivered the news:
“With a heavy heart, I announce that over 350 Derusmians have been reported as perished in the attacks, with a further 900 estimated to be injured, and 20 or so are in a critical condition. If you think anybody you know has been affected, call the number below."
The embassy also stated that Derusmians should start returning home as soon as possible once Tytorian airspace opens back up, however, those who need immediate treatment are advised to stay in Tytor for the time being.
In other news, New Derusmia’s airspace is now beginning to open up to allow New Derusmians and rerouted flights to return.

Aid workers begin flying to Tytor following the recent attacks.
It has been reported that the first flights out of New Derusmia ever since the recent Tytor terror attacks were confirmed to have been carrying over 600 aid workers that are being sent to the affected areas. These workers will be helping to rescue survivors, remove rubble, and help in the overcrowded hospitals.
Meanwhile, blood donations have surged recently, with clinics and hospitals all over the nation experiencing long lines and crowds waiting to donate their blood. The government is urging all healthy adults to go to their nearest healthcare center to donate blood.
The Department of Health has stated “A »100 sum will be given to donators as a sort of thanks for your efforts. Of course, you can choose before receiving the sum whether to keep it or give it away to the Tytorian aid effort.”
Many are also donating belongings such as non-perishable foods and clothes.

SALE OF TCHAIKOV MULRO-1 FINISHES
45 Tchaikov aircraft have been sold to nations across the world.
Yesterday, the Unified Aerospace Forces of New Derusmia announced the sale of 45 Tchaikov MulRo-1 aircraft. Many were sold to SANE and allied nations, while others were sold to countries such as the AHR. The UAFND Commandant made this statement:
“With pleasure, I’d like to announce that all 45 Tchaikov aircraft have been sold swiftly internationally.
Ten aircraft have been sold to both the Second Imperial Chinese Republic and Quintelia, 14 to the Armed Himeyan Republic, one to a Tytorian aerospace museum, and 10 to an unspecified buyer.”
The funds made from the sale will go towards building modern fighter aircraft for the UAFND.
NEW BANKNOTE DESIGNS OF 2020 UNVEILED

The National Mint has announced an official redesign of the Kein Banknotes that will begin printing at the beginning of 2020. These notes are made from Polymer instead of paper, and feature an all new transparent window. This, along with many anti-counterfeit measures makes the new notes exceedingly hard to counterfeit. As described by Dale Melisch, Director of the Mint, “These new notes include a fresh modern look, combined with high anti-counterfeit measures.” He also commented: “The design theme of the new series is ‘New and Old’. For example, the new «10 Banknote features the new and old legends of New Derusmian culture, such as Hans Zimmer and Ludwig Van Beethoven. This goes for all the notes, except for the «5. Also, the new Kein banknote is one of the first in the world to feature a transparent window, which makes it historical.”
However, a controversial move was made by President Feish to not add any political figures and such. He commented today: “After it came to my attention that I was to be added to one of the banknotes, I realised that us Presidents should not be worshipped like this. We are your leaders, not your god-emperors, and we kindly ask that you treat us as such.”
The «5 note will be the first to start printing, on January 2, 2020.

- New Years Eve celebrations across New Derusmia were hugely successful, and 'were a proper greeting to the new decade', according to the President.
- The New Derusmian Unified Aerospace Defence Force, Quintelian Armed Forces, and the SICR Armed Forces publicly announce the beginning of the development of a new Multirole Fighter Jet.
- Maritime Commandant Kevin Hanaway expresses interest in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Carriers.

Now onto our first story for this evening. A few days ago, the nation's skies were turned into a dazzling display of color and light, as sounds of explosions, cheering, and joyous singing echoed from the most smallest rural communities to our Capital. Today, the President, who was in attendance at the Metrian New Years Eve Show, talked about how successful the celebrations turned out to be. Here's what he had to say.
The NYE celebrations were an absolute triumph. From what I saw in Metria, every family was outside on the streets, celebrating the new year, sorry, decade. This year, there were minimal injuries or incidents, and everything went to plan. I've also received word from the local governors that their celebrations were all well too. The weather was perfect last night, unlike last year, when the infamous New Year storm cancelled many celebrations. This year was a humongous improvement, and truly were a proper greeting to the new decade."
Onto our next story. Yesterday, the New Derusmian Unified Defence Force, the Quintelian Armed Forces, and the Dragonaii Armed Forces made announcements on the beginning of the development of the Bakunawa Multirole Fighter. Today a speech was made in front of the Capital Air Base by Aerospace Commandant Iyan Gerhart. Throughout it, he continuously mentions that the Bakunawa Multirole Fighter, or simply Bakunawa, is the 'future of multirole aircraft.' He also mention that the aircraft is 'supposed to give its team the upper hand by always having more information than the enemy thanks to its advanced sensor suite, ability to share information, low profile and ability to adapt to almost any situation. And most importantly, stealth capabilities and high mobility.' Current knowledge is that the Bakunawa project will take around 4-5 months to develop, and will cost more than 150 million Keins to develop.' According to Gerhart, Quintelia and the SICR will make their individual statements later on.
Meanwhile, in the NDUMDF, the Maritime Commandant Kevin Hanaway has expressed interest in developing Drone Carriers for the Maritime Defence Force. This news comes following a proposal made by Sir Harry Samuelson of East Moreland to scrap their Aircraft Carriers and the Lodjain Navy announcing their intentions to keep their drone carriers. He said this during a DWBS News interview earlier today.
"Yes, I truly believe that the Drone Carriers are the future of Naval Warfare. As stated by Sir Samuelson not long ago, he said something along the lines that carriers were not only expensive to maintain, build, and run, but also are extremely vulnerable in this day and age. Now look at the drone carrier, they're much more superior. Let's take EM's Cyborg Class as an example of why. Not only do you have the strengths of a small aircraft carrier, but you also have the power of a guided missile destroyer, at less than half the cost of an aircraft carrier. Now, if we could develop something similar, and possibly even have the East Morelanders help us with that, our naval force would be extraordinary.
Onto our next story, the SANE Representative for New Derusmia, Tobias Oliversson has called for a more unified SANE. He gave a speech in front of his office at the SANE Headquarters in Quintelia earlier today, explaining that the world today 'is a dangerous place for nations the likes of us'. He goes on further to explain that SANE needs 'more defence from foreign world powers, and strength to retaliate if the need arises.' Oliversson believes that the solution to this problem is for more involvement in SANE. 'We've already begun further involvement, as seen from the Wyvern project that was just announced today. What we need are more of these projects and cooperations, so that we can have full involvement from the member nations.' To finish, he stated 'Strength through defense, defense through unity. We need a more unified South Ardian New Electorate.'
And now for the last story for the night. An large E-Sports tournament was held for the first time in New Derusmian history in Erejen City, attracting hundreds of professional players and thousands of fans from all over the nation. For those who don't know, E-Sports, or Electronic Sports are organised, multiplayer video game competitions. The aftermath of the tournament has resulted in a sudden surge of popularity online, and many organisations such as the Department of Tourism are now considering the popularity and profitability of such events being held.

The Quintelian Ministry of Science and Technology has announced that they have completed multiple working CubeSat prototypes that are scheduled to be launched later this year. Dubbed the Unity Project, the process of designing, launching, and managing the mission will bring together all the South Ardian New Electorate member nations, and was first proposed late last year. According to Quintelian Minister of Science and Technology in his Press Conference, "the new space mission will consist of a group of thirteen low-cost Cubesats that will examine asteroids and meteors that are within the orbit of Mundus and Luna. Each satellite ... would be equipped with cameras and sensors to analyze surface composition of bodies within the Mundus’ orbit."
Meanwhile in New Derusmia, we've been given word by the director of the New Derusmian Space Agency, Braith Lengman, that our own designs for CubeSat satellites are now nearing the prototype phase, and that all is going well.

Today, colossal tunnel boring machines reached the end of the Southern Line route that passes through New Derusmia, marking the end of the first phase of construction for the Southern Line. The process took an entire year, due to the mountainous terrain of the Southern Territories.
The next phase will begin this coming week, and will involve track laying and the fitting of lights inside the said tunnels. Meanwhile, at Metria Central Station, the specialized platforms to be used for Southern Line services have also been completed. The entire route will travel throughout all of South Ardia, with terminals in New Derusmia, the SICR, Quintelia, and Ui Cenneslaig, with plans to expand to the Allied States and Kodumaa. The line will feature both freight and high speed passenger services, and is planned to open late this year.

Also today, Aerospace Commandant Iyan Gerhart announced to New Derusmia via press conference that a Bakunawa Multirole Fighter prototype has completed its first test flight at an undisclosed airbase in the SICR. According to Gerhart, the flight was "all well, and the test was successful". He has also stated that more test flights will be following within the next few days. Development of the aircraft began in February of this year, and is currently being worked on by the member nations of SANE, namely New Derusmia, Quintelia, and the SICR. "The future of Multirole Aircraft is coming faster than you think. This is the first step to ensuring aerospace defense across South Ardia." He stated finally.

Speaking of the SICR, the New Derusmian government, has approved the sale of 10 Lynx 2 Main Battle Tanks of the ST variant to the Second Imperial Chinese Republic's army, the INA, for testing purposes. The Lynx 2ST MBT is a variation of the original Lynx 2 in use, but is engineered for colder climates, dense forestry, and steep terrain. This tank is currently in use in the Suden Territories. The SICR has purchased these tanks in order to modernize their tank fleet.
Ground Commandant Lukas Mauss told DWBS that "after a testing period, the Imperial Nationalist Army will decide whether to purchase more, or even gain the rights to manufacture new Lynx 2ST's in the SICR. We'll just have to wait and see."

And finally, in political news, the first national popularity poll of the 2020 Presidential campaign finished last night, and the results are surprising. Former favorite Ebston Feish has lost his rank of first place, compared to the last campaign polls 5 years ago, when the Democratic Socialists Party won by a landslide. According to the results from www.presidentialcampaignhub.gov.nd (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ), Feish has landed in 3rd place in public approval rating, behind Sayid Famahad of the Liberal party, with only 32% of around 40 million who participated in the polls approve of Feish as the next New Derusmian President. According to popular opinion on the internet, this is because of the President's handling of the Clypseri Civil War, which ended with the withdrawal of 10 New Derusmian strategists from Clypseris, and left New Derusmia as an embarrassment on the world stage.
Expressing their anger with the incumbent President, Reddit user u/KarenDestroyer6900 posted the following on the r/ndpolitics Subreddit:
Our President is an absolute f*cking c*ckhead, and I'll give you the reasons why. His pathetic ass thought it would be a splendid idea to get itself right in the middle of a civil war, in a country we've almost never interacted with before, in a continent that we've never been to. Hasn't New Derusmia had enough f*cking civil wars? What makes it worse, is that Royal Clypseris, the people we were bloody fighting against, were supporters of our cause all this time? How could our 'President' not have known this? He's a dumbass, that's why. We need him out of office as soon as possible, before he leaves the nation in an absolute clusterf*ck.
Whether Ebston will regain the nation's trust by the national elections, taking place in December, remains a mystery.

Following the recent death of the Former Emperor-Admiral Jinduming von Nanjing, the SICR has plunged into instability and into what seems to be a civil war, as insurgents attempt to take control of the government. Battles in the city streets, riots, gunfire, and drive-by attacks have become common, and citizens have begun taking shelter in bunkers to avoid any further danger. In what has been described as the largest military deployment in New Derusmian history, the Nordheit 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division, alongside the 242nd Panzerabteilung have been transported by aircraft to IFC Complex Minor Nanjing, where Quintelian troops have already been transported. They have been sent to assist Imperial Forces with counteroffensive operations and to fight against insurgents.
This news comes following a request of military assistance from the new Emperor-Admiral of the SICR Jingxingguo von Nanjing, stating that anti-government insurgents had gained access to heavy military equipment, and were beginning an advance towards the capital of Nanjing. The Quintelian Government has agreed to purchase 10 2-Kirei Main Battle Tanks from Vassendean Corp. Similar to the deal that was undertook by Gaus-Hatani recently, the tanks were sold at a discounted price for testing purposes, with the additional option of buying more or acquiring the rights to domestically manufacture the 2-Kirei MBT's in the future. The Vassendean 2-Kirei is a Main Battle Tank currently operated by the New Derusmia Unified Ground Defense Force, and is the direct competitor to the Lynx 2 developed by Gaus-Hatani Systems. The 2-Kirei is mostly used in the Coastal and Eastern regions.
Online, rumors have been circulating that the tanks hadn't been sold for cash, but instead were exchanged for Quintelian Marijuana. The rumors come following the purchase of marijuana from foreign sources due to a shortage in New Derusmia. NDUGDF Oberbefehlshaber Lukas Mauss has denied these claims.

Soyoza Defense has announced today that development of a new Self-Propelled AA Gun for the NDUGDF has begun. CEO of Soyoza, Neil Soyoza, made the following statement in front of the company's headquarters in Nordheit today:
As of now, the Unified Ground Defense Force lacks a Self Propelled AA Gun of any kind. The only form of Anti Aircraft defense we own are towed guns. These guns lack the mobility in the event that our nation is attacked in the air. So, with Gaus Hatani, we have decided to develop a solution for this problem. We call it the Next Generation Anti-Aircraft Gun. We will be combining the hull of a Gaus-Hatani Lynx 2 Main Battle Tank with a Soyoza 35mm AA Duo-Gun in order to bring mobile air defense to the Ground Defense Forces.
This isn't the first time that Gaus-Hatani has collaborated with another New Derusmian military manufacturer. The Vassendean-GH VII Armored Personnel Carrier was a collaborative project that also utilized the hull of a Lynx 2.
It has been announced that the NGSPAAG will also offer an anti-air missile system configuration.

Today, Finn Riedel, CEO of New Derusmia International Airways announced his plans for NDIA in July. The plan involved the buying of 20 'Scale' Aircraft from Fleur aerospace company Breça Civil. According to Riedel, these aircraft will be assigned on continental routes, such as New Derusmia to Quintelia, Kodumaa, Rokkenjima, Josai, and the SICR, the latter of which has been suspended due to the ongoing conflict. The aircraft were bought at the discounted price of »1.84 billion, due to New Derusmia's status as a 'sister republic' of Fleur. The aircraft have already began manufacturing, and Finn Riedel has said that he hopes that this action will continue to grow the bond between New Derusmia and Fleur. He has also expressed interest in purchasing a number of 'Magenta' aircraft for long-range routes.
Meanwhile, Finn Riedel also announced a Code-Share agreement between New Derusmia International Airways and Josai Airlines. The two reached a cooperative agreement that will merge many of their routes. He stated:
Essentially, this agreement will allow NDIA to sell tickets on JAL flights, and for JAL to sell tickets on NDIA flights. The result is that our airlines can service more areas. This type of agreement is a very useful service, it'll allow NDIA and JAL to easily network with each other. The code-share will be in affect at the beginning of July.

As part of a request from the Federated Kingdom of Attica, the New Derusmian government has authorized the export of multiple High Speed rolling stock for use on a 64km high speed rail line that travels between Elysium and Alaverdi, the capital of Attica. The project will cost approximately 120 million dinars, or 107 million keins, with half of the project being funded by New Derusmia. The rolling stock chosen to be exported is the WE7 series, the standard rolling stock used on the NatRail Neuamsleitung network, and the same type to be used on the Southern Line.
Meanwhile, following the apology made by President Ebston Feish, 12 Tchaikov Mulro-3 aircraft have been sent to Clypseris at a 35% discount, along with elite pilots of the Luftwaffengeschwader 1 based in the NCR. The aircraft were sold to the Royal Clypseri Air Force as consolation for New Derusmia's involvement in the recent Clypseri Civil War, with the pilots being sent in order to train the pilots on operation of the Mulro-3.
