Angry Mob Lynch Family of 4


A angry mob descended on the house hold of the Evans family last night. They were all lynched, Alex Evans (42) was found hung by the neck in his back garden, whilst his wife, Mary Evans (41), and their children, George Evans (1) and Henry Evans (9), where found beaten to death in their living room. The cause of the lynching is unknown.
What happened?

It was 5:23AM when a mob of around 30 men and women were caught by a surveillance camera storming up Ray Park Road, in Hootoft City, towards the home of the Evans. None of these people have yet not been identified. About 12 minutes later, a call was sent from Mary Evan’s phone to the Hootoft City Police Force (HCPF). When the police call receiver picked up the phone, the calling phone had hung up. The police (with the evidence of the camera recording mentioned earlier) suspected something was wrong and a team was dispatched. Due to the people filled streets of Hootoft however, they did not arrive till a quarter of an hour later. They arrived to find the front door smashed in and all the occupants dead; the mob had vanished.

Investigation

So far the police have turned up nothing. They have closely analysed the camera footage but the faces are at too low a resolution to identify anyone. The home has been dusted for fingerprints, however none have shone up aside from the Evan’s. The police are at a total loss.

The victims

Alex Evans was a wealthy man. He worked at Clifford’s bank, where he had worked for the last 17 years. His work colleagues described him as “a friendly, helpful chap” and he regularly put in hours at the local soup kitchen. He was also an avid believer in the Aschlon Holy Church.

Mary Evans was well known around the community as “helpful and intelligent”. She met and fell deeply in love with Alex in 1992, and often described her husband as “the perfect man”.

Henry Evans was a bright and happy lad, with his teachers often describing him as “head of the class”.

George Evans died at 1 year old and 8 months. He was an adorable baby, whose mother was said to love him more than anything in the world.

The Tarc burns

Today at roughly 8:56 A.M., the Tarc, the home of Aschlon democracy, was razed by the NACG (the New Aschlon Church Group). 

The damage is thought to have been caused by several Molotov Cocktails, carried into the Tarc by three men and two women, and lit and dropped all round the building. Security footage caught them breaking into the Tarc eighteen minutes before the first fires were noticed, however due to being one of the many faulty cameras in Hootoft City, no police request was sent out.

There were thirty six casualties, including Representative William Jones, Representative Tom Wolf, Representative John Retlik and two of the terrorists. The offices of the Representatives have been completely destroyed, with the speaking hall, the meeting room and the deciding cabinet, where all new laws are made, being damaged beyond use and repair.

The government is in disarray, Representative George Lloyd is out of the country and Representative Bill Jovi is left to govern by himself for now. He has ordered an immediate election, to be held in June, and a manhunt for John Cou, Emily Hurst and Porry Tad, the known surviving members of the fire starters and members of NACG. The ASSO (the Aschlon State Service Organisation) have been given permission to use any means necessary to track down NACG and prevent another such attack from happening.

The NSCG are a terrorist group, made up of individuals unhappy with the Revolution. They were very active during the Anarchy Period, in which they performed a spree of murders on several new government supporters. They were believed to have disbanded after the new government were securely in power. They claimed responsibility for the attack minutes after the fire had been put out.

Religious sympathetic newspapers banned

All pro-religious newspapers in Aschlon have been banned by the ASSO and their editors arrested.

Following the terrorist attack carried out by NACG on the Tarc last week, the ASSO has launched a spree of raids, shutting down pro-religious newspapers and arresting their editors over fears they could be used to recruit more to the NACG cause.
Twenty eight raids were launched last night, organised by ASSO and put into action by the army and police force. Two people were killed in the raid and forty eight were arrested. They are awaiting trial for conspiracy to treason.
The head of ASSO, Hadyn Lost, released this statement: “After the Tarc fire, we have increased our watch for religious terrorist groups. To tackle them we have shut down ways that could spread their messages.”
The move has been received well by the general public.

Public Executution relegalised!
Hadyn Lost uses act 11 to make the public execution of religous preachers leagal

Earlier this week, a few religous preachers were seized from their homes by ASSO agents, and taken away for questioning on the activities of NACG. Following rigorous questioning and interrigation, it has been found that many of them where either in kahoots with the NACG, spreading discontent and violent thoughts with their preaching or purposly withholding valuable information from the state. With this knowledge, they where privately mass trialled, before all where sentenced to hang by the neck till dead in the square before the ruins of the burnt down Tarc.
Before this incident, the death sentence, public or not, was illegalised after the revolution due to it being a 'barbaric method of punishment', however the Head of ASSO, HAdyn Lost, used act 11, which allows the leader of ASSO to religalise any law which they deem to be needed, to reinstate public execution.
All 136 arrested preachers will be hung between the 22/04/20 to 23/04/20, starting at 9 AM and finishing at 6 PM everyday.

A.N. richt mysteriously vanishes

Last Night the A.N. richt docked at Port Supador, and disappeared mysteriously.

The crew had just arrived from deployment and had docked their ship in Port Supador, the Naval base in Hawar. The crew, barring the Captain, had left the sub to enjoy themselves in Port Supador. Guards were deployed regularly around it.

The inspecting officer, there to inspect the sub for any possible maintenance, arrived ten minutes later to find the guards and captain drugged, and the sub gone.

So far investigation has turned up little. Surveillance footage has been wiped, and the captain and guards have no memory of how they came to be drugged. Urine samples have so far shown nothing.

ASSO, who are working with military police and Hawar police, have not ruled out foul play by another nation, nor the possibility of it being an inside job.

Tarc Filling Elections announced

Following the Tarc fire caused by the NACG and the deaths of three representatives, the elections will be held a year early, in order to fill in the missing Tarc seats.
Due to the election rules, politicians are only allowed to push forwards their political agendas when the Election is five weeks away.

North Aschlonia requests to join Aschlon

North Aschlonia is a nation to the north of Aschlon. It has been historically the place where the various monarchs through history would exile dissenters. This has lead to ethnic Aschlonians making up about 53% of its population. A referendum was held there in 2008 to decide whether they would request to join Aschlon if they won the war. 83% of the population wanted to join Aschlon, and so when the war end and the new government was in control they requested to be annexed. The Tarc at that time asked them to be better prepared.
Now nearly two years  later, they have announced that everything is ready. They are prepared to become an official part of the people's republic of Aschlon in around five days.
They will not be taking part in the elections, but their Representatives (as their Provenance officials are now called) will be joining the Tarc shortly.

NACG claims responsibilty for Ricin Attack

A few hours ago the Tarc received a letter from the NACG, who claimed responsibility for the Ricin poisoning that has claimed thousands of lives last week, though how they did it is not claimed. ASSO investigation of the incident has come up dry so far. However, with the news of it possibly being a religous terrorist attack, ASSO has launched a series of arrests.
ASSO released this statement to public today: "With the news that this incident was a terrorist attack we have taken in many suspects for questioning, hoping for a break through. Aided by the police of the various areas where the death toll was particulary high, we will uncover the truth behind the matter".
The incident began several days ago, with many people suddenly reporting symptons similar to those of Ricin, a poisonous substance of which no known antidote exists. Upon further inspection it was discovered that thousands had some how inhaled fatal amounts of it. How they had managed this was a mystery to the doctors, as the plant that Ricin comes from is only found in Aschlon in sparce amounts in the Low Lands.

PORs re-allowed to go to Olympic games.

The Tarc yesterday overruled a decision by ASSO to prohibit PORs from visiting the Olympics this year. The verdict came through yesterday after ASSO made an announcement on National TV that all PORs wishing to visit the Nations where the Olympics are being held (Tamora and Royal Seleucid) would be arrested at the airport, naming it a “risk to national and international security”.

The Tarc made an announcement the following morning, again on National TV that ASSO’s decision was “unnecessary” and assurance that it would not go through. ASSO has already successfully blocked PORs from aiding in the Olympics, stopping Andy Rudolf, one of Aschlon’s best swimmers and favourite to be chosen, from being able to compete.

This raised great protest from the people of the mainland Provinces, in particular Napon, where Rudolf is from. However, the people of the island Provinces mainly supported this decision, having felt the damage done to society by the Terror group the NACG.
