General Grendel visited the New Graduates in Prussian Military Academy

"As a Soldier of the Kaiser your duty is protect the Emperor and his People."

Mansteinburg, Ulrichshorst - Reichswehr Minister Leopold Wieker Grendel yesterday advised new graduates of the Prussian Military Academy (PMA) to brace for “complex” realities and be ready to sacrifice for the country when they combat threats like illegal drugs and terrorism.
Speaking during the graduation of the PMA “Fredrick Voss” class of 2018, Grendel said the incoming military officers should be worried because of the daunting tasks ahead.

“In war, we are facing NSUAP (National Socialist Ulrichshorstian Workers' Party). It will never end in about five years... Then, there’s the drug menace. You have to worry. You know you have plenty of work to do. I do not pity you but I can see the sacrifice in the coming days that you have to bear for the country. That’s why I talk to each one of you,” the Minister said.

He assured the new graduates of protection should they face legal problems relating to the performance of their duties.

“I said do not be afraid. Just do your duty in accordance with law. I got your back. As you leave the halls of PMA and enter your chosen branches of service, you will be faced with realities that are far more complex than what you have been prepared for. Mistakes will always be inevitable but have confidence in knowing that the rules of the academy have honed you for the responsibilities that await you as you assume leadership roles in the armed forces,” Grendel said.

The 20.000 members of the Fredrick Voss class, he pointed out, have been equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel, but as to how far can they go would depend greatly on their discipline, determination and faith.

He also urged the incoming military officers to “become a source of strength and inspiration” to their fellow soldiers and become “instruments of meaningful change in society.’’

“Your courage and bravery have been tested numerous times but despite all of these trials, you have emerged victorious and ready to take on bigger challenges ahead. Remember always the three words that have been ingrained deeply in your hearts—courage, integrity and loyalty. Embody these words and use them to guide your actions throughout your careers,” Grendel said, referring to the motto of the PMA.

The Minister said his military has the full support of the government, citing the increase in base pay of soldiers and policemen and the implementation of the second tranche of the Armed Forces modernization program. Despite the support given by his administration to the armed forces, Grendel reminded the PMA graduates to be loyal to the Constitution and not to him.

“Stay with the Constitution, stay in the chain of command, love the Ulrichshorstian people that you serve. I never mentioned my name. I do not want to nurture loyalty. I find it corny. After my time, I will go. If there is a perfected constitution by 2020.

Oberschefflenz governor on Ulrichshorstian nationalists: They should leave Ulrichshorst

Oberschefflenz, Ulrichshorst – Oberschefflenz Gov.Werner Voss, speaking Sunday at a prayer rally in Oberschefflenz, renewed his calls for Ulrichshorstian Nationalist to leave the city in the wake of violence that saw one person killed and troopers assigned to the governor's travel detail killed in a helicopter crash.

Voss denounced the people who had come to this college town for a "Unite the Right" rally, saying they weren't the patriots they make themselves out to be.

"They get out of bed every day to hate people and divide our country," Voss said.

On Saturday, Voss told the demonstrators to go home. On Sunday he went further.

"Let's be honest, they need to leave Ulrichshorst, because they are not Ulrichshorstian," he said.

Earlier, rally organizer Joseph Kessler blamed law enforcement officers for the violence over the weekend in which a woman was killed and more than 30 people were injured.

Who are nationalists and what do they want?

He then tried to give a news conference at city hall but was chased away by counterprotesters, who all but drowned him out as he tried to speak.

Voss said he had just visited with the families of the two state troopers -- one his pilot, the other a member of his protection detail -- who were killed in a helicopter crash Saturday as they helped monitor the situation in Oberschefflenz.

The governor also praised Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old woman who was killed Saturday when a car slammed into a crowd of counterprotesters.

"She was doing what she loved," Voss said. "She was fighting for democracy, (for) free speech, to stop hatred and bigotry."

Message from the top

Vice Chancellor Lothar Hilscher condemned the violence in Oberschefflenz while on a trip.

"We have no tolerance for hate and violence from Ulrichshorstian Nationalist, neo-Nazis or the KKK," the Vice Chancellor said while in Amelinghausen, Ulrichshorst. "These dangerous fringe groups have no place in Ulrichshorstian public life and in the Ulrichshorstian debate and we condemn them in the strongest possible terms."

Hilscher 's remarks come after critics blasted Kaiser Franz Ferdinand for not specifically mentioning Ulrichshorstian Nationalist or other groups during Ferdinand's remarks Saturday.

Volkshalle aides who appeared on Sunday morning political talk shows tried to walk the line between condemning a terrorist attack at the hands of a suspected nationalist and denying that the Kaiser failed to go far enough with his words on Saturday.

Sunday night Hilscher said, "The Kaiser also made clear that behavior by others of different militant perspectives is also unacceptable in our political debate and discourse."

The Vice Chancellor criticized the media, saying it devoted more time to what Kaiser Ferdinand said than the people who engaged in violence.
Earlier the governor joined other state leaders to preach about unity at a historically black church in Oberschefflenz.

"We come to you this morning to reassure you that the State of Oberschefflenz and all of us that are in this together will not and do not condone Ulrichshorstian Nationalist that brought their hatred and bigotry to the State of Oberschefflenz," Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam told Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, to roaring applause.

"That's not what we're about. So I am here this morning, as your lieutenant governor, and also as a doctor, to start the healing process."
Less than 24 hours had passed since a driver plowed into demonstrators protesting against white nationalists in Oberschefflenz.

Voss asked the congregation for a moment of silence to honor Heyer and the troopers, "who lost their lives yesterday doing what they loved doing -- fighting for freedom."

"I feel right at home here at the Mount Zion church," the governor said. "I was invited today to go on a lot of TV shows. I turned them all down, because I needed to be where I should be, here in this beautiful church here today."
