Festival of Sail 2019
« on: July 10, 2019, 11:08:34 PM »

David had never been a Naval man but he had rather enjoyed the Festival of Sail, the last two years being the exception. First there had been the surprise wedding of his sister Freya and Alex Redfern, then last year the Grand Preacher of Cabbagelandiet's wife had dropped dead on board the Lodjain Royal Yacht. The King was crossing his fingers that this year there was just a chance to look at some pretty boats, let his daughter eat some ice cream while pretending to be a Viking Warrior and then host some kind of BBQ. As usual the streets approaching the Portworth Naval Base were busy, people enjoying the streets stalls outside of the Festival Grounds. The crowd inside the base was supplimented by groups inside the neighbouring civilian industrial port and the luxury marina the other side. As King David flew in onboard the royal helicopter he could see the huge beach parties already setting up. Rhiannon knelt on her seat looking through the window, mainly just pleased to be outside the Palace and free from the silly mask her father had made her wear for the last few months. Stasya sat opposite looking forward to the attention that was sure to come when they landed.

The helicopter began its descent towards the bases helicopter pad and even before the rotors had shut down Admiral Kensington, the bases commanding officer had opened the door. "Welcome to Portworth Your Majesty" he yelled over the whirring noise of the engines spinning down.

"Thank You" David said returning the man's salute before shaking hands. Will Buckley was helping Stasya down onto the helipad while Rhiannon, her face already covered in blue "war paint" and her tiny wooden practice sword tucked into a knotted rope belt strained at her belt harness. Stasya had picked out a pretty dress for the Princess only to be told that a dress wasn't what warriors wore and so instead she was wearing a pair of dark trousers and a long blue t-shirt over. David grabbed his daughters hand and could see her already looking around for the Vikings who would already be making their way into the harbour with the other ships.

David made his way through the crowds stopping and occasionally speaking to a familiar face, all the time Rhiannon straining to pull him towards the VIP box, her logic being the sooner her father made his speech then the sooner she could become a Viking Shield Maiden for the day, the concept of a timetable completely lost on her. As he finished speaking to one of the former captains of the REMNS King Robert he spotted an Air Force officer patrolling through the crowd, Archduchess Sophie Harrison-Ironside had been assigned to one of the security teams for the first two days of the ceremony and spotting her uncle gave a formal salute while smiling. Bandit her patrol dog took casual sniffs of the people passing by his finely trained nose seeking out anything that shouldn't be there. "Good Morning Your Majesty" Sophie said as her uncle headed over. Rhiannon wanted to run a hand through Bandits fur but hesitated, he looked a little like a wolf and wasn't sure if it was safe. "He's ok" Sophie said looking at the young Princess and reading her mind. "Bandit" he pulled gently on the dogs lead and the dog reached his wet nose towards the hand. He'd been trained to work among crowds and wasn't phased by Rhiannon patting him on his head.

"Good Morning Flying Officer" David returned her greeting. "Everything ok?" he asked

"All secure sir" Sophie nodded realising her uncle was busy and pointing Bandit back towards the crowd. Naturally Sophie was getting a bit of attention herself, people asking for selfies and as her commanding officer had instructed her she was carefuly to politely refuse stating, "I'm sorry, I'm on patrol. I hope to see you when I'm off duty." and with that the human and dog combo had gone.

The VIP area as usual was a temporary grandstand with a fancy box at the front covered in red and white fabric the Ironside coat of arms embroided into the front. Seats behind had been covered in alternating rows of red and white cloth to make them appear more fancy than the simple plastic seats they in reality were. Name cards had been placed on each seat along with a schedule of the days activities.

"Morning Your Majesty" Harry Samuelson the nations Minister of Defence waved at the King as he watched the distant shapes of the flotilla preparing at sea. He wasn't a naval man by any stretch of the imagination but he did enjoy the opening of the Festival of Sail. He and the King engaged in conversation as Stasya made sure to present a fine image for the photographers gathered at the foot of the box.

"No. You can't go up there." Press Secretary Malcolm Tucker was telling some of the photographers. "You know His Majesties views, you invade his daughters privacy and I get to own your soul, add to that you never get invited to anything again. So no you can't get an up close picture of the Princess." he was scolding some of the photographers. A man approached spoke quietly to the man and Tucker jotted something down before heading up into the box. "Your Majesty, EMTV have asked if you can delay your speech for two minutes, their having some issues with the sound equipment." He explained. The King nodded that it was fine and then Tucker knelt down next to Princess, "Now if any of those men" he pointed down towards the photographers, "Get on your nerves today and bother you and your Viking buddies you let me know OK." Rhiannon nodded she didn't understand it, around the Palace it seemed everyone was frightened of this man but he was always nice to her. "Your Dad looking?" he whispered and Rhiannon shook her head, "Sweet?" he reached a hand into his pocket and brought out a white paper bag and offered it to her, she looked inside and spotted a blue and pink UFO and took it popping it into her mouth after checking David wasn't looking, she liked the way the rice paper melted on her tongue releasing the sherbert inside that tickled her tongue. "Our secret" Malcolm popped one in himself, winked and headed off back to handle any press requests.

Soon the VIP's were settling in and a ear piercing siren blew, the bases air raid warning, it wasn't however indicating any incoming attack rather sending a message far out to sea everything was set to go. A red flare could be seen going up showing the REMNS King Robert had picked up the message and was beginning its journey into base. Around it at sea bobbed a carefully arranged mass of boats ranging from single windsurfers, to old row boats and then the things ranging from ancient looking historic ships to state of the art vessels. Alongside the REMNS King Robert the  Sunseeker was jointly leading the ships towards the neck of the harbour where the crowds welcomed the ships. It was here the Sunseeker dropped back slightly to allow the home ship to be first into port as was tradition. As always it was the historic ships such as the HTMS St. Joseph  that the real naval fans liked to see but there was also something impressive about things like the SIGB Nestland a beast of an old battleship.

The King Robert crew were all on deck as the ship began to pull alongside soon a gangway was put into position and a group of soldiers came marching down and once at dockside formed into a  hollow square, an Airman, a sailor, a Legionnaire and a Marine. It was only then that a large number of bugles began to play and a huge figure encassed in metal appeared at the top of the gangplank and clanged his way down to stand in the centre of the hollow square, he towered above them and began walking with them towards the VIP Box. It was Louis Blanche, world Medeival MMA Heavyweight Champion and Mundus Games Gold Medalist, he'd become a superstar in the country and now dressed in his fight gear made an impressive sight as he approached the royal box, a straight cavalry sword held high in one arm like it weighed nothing. "He's way cooler than Vikings" Rhiannon whispered recognising her hero from the pattern on his buckler strapped to his arm. She had posters of him on her wall along with those of Little Mix.

Blanche's military escorts stopped as the Knight took three more steps forward and with relative little effort knelt. "Your Majesty" he spoke loudly, "I have the honour to present your sword, may I approach." The sword now rested horizontally on the palms of his outstretched hand.

"You may" King David responded and waited for Blanche to climb the steps and present the blade pommel first, his head bowed. David took the sword and thanked Blanche for the job well done. The Knight bowed then stood to one side. The King stood the sword held in his right hand resting on his shoulder. He stepped forward checked the microphone was on and the green light on the camera before him.

"Ladies and Gentleman, honoured guests, old friends returning and new friends we are to meet. I wish to welcome you to the Festival of Sail 2019. This is a week where East Moreland celebrate our men and women who serve us on the ocean waves. Often in East Moreland's history the Navy have been an often overlooked part of our nations heritage. This year is a year things have and must change for them. 2019 marked the end of an era, a foreign prescence in the Illumic. In the past we were happy to hand our regional defence to foreign powers but during my reign that will not and must not be the case. The Navy have shown that they are more than capable of taking the battle to the enemy and the display of a Transvaal aircraft carrier being brought over by a Seaforthian crew demonstrates that. Our Navy in the eyes of many was an untried and untested force yet on that day a few years back they did the unthinkable and captured an enemy flagship showing that truly the Illumic nations can get the job done.

Today also marks the beginning of another era. An era where it is possible to navigate around Mundus on ships powered only by the sun. The Sunseeker from Achkaerin left here a year ago and todays returns having been powered by nothing but the rays from our sun. An impressive piece of technology and one that I hope we can make the best of to ensure a better environment for our children in the future. I'm sure we'd all like to congratulate Eleanor Hendry on her achievement and welcome her to Portworth.

But as one era starts another must end. After numerous years the Rokkenjiman presence in the Illumic has ended. In that time they worked alongside our men and women in ensuring the safety of the seas to our East and it was answering our commitments to the tripartite that saw the joint Seaforth and East Moreland strike on the Transvaal aircraft carrier. While there are no Rokkenjiman naval service vessels here this year I hope you will all take the time to visit their cruise ships, locate the ex-servicemen and woman who I am sure will have been pulled into civilian service by their love of the sea and thank them for their service.

This year the Festival for me is very special. Almost six months ago my daughter was diagnosed with Lukhemia and we feared the worse. Today she sits here listening to her father prattal on while she wants to go play Viking and eat ice cream. I can feel her eyes staring at the back of my head saying "Shut up Daddy" and so I will cut this short. I wish to place on record my thanks to all those working in medical professions across Mundus helping the sick and needy. This year the Festival's nominated charity will be  Augustin Children's Cancer Trust, a charity set up in the name of a Prince of Neu Urburzis who was a great comfort to my daughter in her time of need. It will seek to help those children across Mundus suffering with all forms of cancer so please give generously. With that and before my daughter becomes a Berzerker I announce the Festival of Sail open." With that the King returned his sword to his scabbard and saw Rhiannon already heading out of the VIP area her security agent in hot pursuit.

Rhiannon bounded down the steps, long blonde hair streaming behind her and an exicited smile on her blue painted face. She made her way along the dockside towards her favourite Red sailed ship the Alanders museum ship called the Drakken. Over the last three years she'd become friends with the crew who set up a mock viking village next to their ship and engaged in mock battles. They had been expecting her and the men had formed a shield wall as they saw her coming. Rhiannon stopped short and smiled at the familiar faces and pulled her sword from its sheath. "READY!" A Viking warrior yelled and his men reached down pulling helmets from their hiding places and put them on, each bearing a metal Crocodile head as decoration. "Behold the Princess who fights Crocodiles" he added before the group laughed and waved for Rhiannon to come join them where they presented her with her own miniature version.

David would have prefered to have gone with Rhiannon but he knew that he would have to spend the first day of the festival essentially on a PR run and so he took hold of Stasya's hand and headed back towards where the VIP's would now be enjoying a champagne breakfast of fresh salmon and scrambled eggs. He probably wouldn't get much chance to eat himself but planned on heading off towards the festival ground soon after.

The INS Sharingan was no stranger to the Festival of Sail, it's only year absent from the festival since it was opened up to the international community being the previous year. It was something of a tradition for the crew and also the Achkaerinese Emperor Peter, as a former captain in the Achkaerinese navy this was a permanent fixture on his foreign visit calendar it was simple enough, fly into East Moreland a couple of days before the festival then on the morning of take a helicopter out to the Sharingan and enjoy the ride into Portworth. He stood on the Sharingan's deck as the ship made its way into the harbour he was conversing with his defence advisor Celine Tyler the pair of them taking in the other ships around them. Then the other traditions for the morning started stepping out from the bridge came the ships CO, Celine's daughter, Captain Yuki Tyler.

"Your Majesty permission to make port?" Yuki asked, she wasn't normally this formal with Peter owing to the Emperor being the father influence in her life but on this occasion she always asked formally, and it wasn't like she needed Peter's permission anyway making port was in the briefing pack they got every year from the festival organisers but she did like to have her fun and Peter always let her.

"Permission granted." Peter said, this was the other reason why the Sharingan was a usual suspect at the festival it gave Celine and Yuki an opportunity to spend some time together, time that they didn't get a whole lot of most of the time. Yuki went to the bridge door and gave the order, it was at this point that Peter's sister Esme came up from below deck.

"Enjoying your first festival of sail Esme?" Celine asked
"It's certainly something special." Esme said
"You should have seen last year, flying swarmbots, Ekrabadger at full tilt." Peter said
"Funny." Esme said as the ship came to a halt
"We're at our berth." Yuki said
"Thanks Yuki." Peter said "I have someone to go and congratulate."

A few berths away from the Sharingan the Sunseeker was coming to a halt, all the way into port Eleanor Hendry had been keeping things on an even keel and trying not to collide with the Morelander flagship, she smiled as she peeled off towards the Sunseekers berth, she patted the interior of the ship as if congratulating the ship itself on the achievement. Once the ship was docked she clambered her way out onto the top deck and then onto the harbourside where standing there waiting for her was her friend, boss and mentor Catriona Rowan applauding Eleanor

"Come here." Catriona said she walked up Eleanor and gave her a hug "Good trip?"
"The best." Eleanor said
"What's your next one?" Catriona asked
"I'll let you know when I think of it." Eleanor said

"Ms Hendry." It was Peter and Esme arriving from behind Catriona
"Your Majesty?" Eleanor asked, quite taken aback by the presence of the Emperor
"May I offer my congratulations on a fine achievement." Peter said extending his hand
"Thank you Your Majesty." Eleanor said, her stomach rumbled right on cue
"We were just going for breakfast." Esme said "You're welcome to come along."
"Go on." Catriona said nudging Eleanor.

Peter, Esme and Eleanor made their way to the VIP area locked in a conversation about Eleanor's year with one eye on saying hello to their hosts when the chance presented itself.

Over at the Drakken there was one interested Achkaerinese spectator - Sapyiat Kaltev, a Major in the Achkaerinese Special Forces but more significantly Rhiannon's Sword Mother[1] she was smiling as she watched Rhiannon bound around the place, Sapyiat had spent the last few months worried about Rhiannon, the correspondent via letter and email had helped but that was no substitute for seeing the young girl back having fun again with her own eyes. And judging by her movements she'd gotten an awful lot better with that sword, Sapyiat privately suspected Freya's influence there, she continued watching.
 1. I can't actually recall whether it's sword or shield mother (as can be guessed from the character profile) but I think either way the point's made

It had taken quiet a bit of forward planning and a bit of logistical help from the Ålander Navy but it had been worth it. Around 2km off the coast the team left the Marine Launch Platform while the Command ship had made its way into the harbour.

Krokom Sub-Orbitals was rather unique. It was a completly amaetur group of rocket makers who had two years ago come close to putting a rocket into a low orbit. In the time that had followed they'd conducted several other launches and most importantly had designed and manufactured the first human carrying capsule that they hoped to use in the next year or so. Yes it was snug and the "pilot" would have to watch what he was eating in the days leading up to the launch but it would be one hell of a flight. They'd spent the last few months testing various safety systems and communications devices and that in itself presented a problem, money.

The team had brought the Marine Launch Platform and the Command Ship largely to show the world what they were capable of. Professor Magnus Hendriksson was stood ready to welcome guests aboard to see what the ship was up to and the project so far, but the bucket with "Donations" on was also a big indicator of what was going on. The Professor hoped to attract people with fat wallets onboard and get them to donate to their work.

Meanwhile the new Allsherjargoði Cathrine Nyström headed off into the festival grounds to find Sir Harry Samuelson or some other important Morelander. It had been quiet a while since the two nations had high level formal face to face contact and with a new leader it was perhaps time.

Prince Vicenzo, Prince Théodore and Admiral Viviano De Bernardo had arrived in Porthsworth on the HMS Mhorish, the ship that had served in the Phuebran civil war and also one of the most famous ships in Vaguzia. The Vaguzian navy had been the cripple kid of the Vaguzian military for years, but times were changing and the Vaguzian government has improved naval spending massively, this ship being one of the results. Prince Théodore was a naval man himself and he held the rank of Lieutenant in the Vaguzian navy, Admiral Viviano De Bernardo was the commanding officer of the navy, officially HMS Elisabeth was his ship but for this occasion he made a exception and lead the HMS Mhorish. Prince Vicenzo wasnt a military man at all and dodged compulsory military service (the Vaguzian people still dislike him a little for that and), and this was his first time on a military ship, and he was feeling that because he started to feel really sick and started vomiting in the water while the ship was heading to the port "Vicenzo are you doing wel?!" Théodore asked. "Remember me to never set foot on a ship again, for Izra's sake hurry up with getting the ship into the port!" Vicenzo yelled

The ship had now finally arrived at the port, and Vicenzo now almost ran off the ship "May the gods be praised, LAND, NON MOVING GROUND!!" he yelled as he set foot in Porthsworth, while Théodore and Viviano calmy walked off the ship. "Well Porthsoworth is nice i see but its still not quite Saburi is it?" Théodore said "Nothing as good as the ports of Saburi my lord." Viviano replied as they were looking for familiar faces. And in all of sudden Vicenzo started to feel really awkward "oh shit i see two faces that are likely going to make this a very awkward situation" he said as he was looking to Celine and Yuki.

Natrax listened to King David's speech with interest. She had heard much of the King of Moreland. The famed and beloved ruler to the Coalition's west. It was also interesting his telling of the old tripartite- the alliance between Rokkenjima, Seaforth and East Moreland. Nyx may have maintained its isolation for a long time, but, as the Ascendant was learning more and more, the Delegation was far less than ignorant in the outside world. In fact, the death of the previous Ascendant and her own crowning could not have come at a better time. The Delegation had used this shift in power to push for their global interests. Even Natrax hadn't been able to fully uncover what exactly they may be.

Nyx would have a small showing at the Festival; the Black Swan. Natrax had rode abroad it on the journey to Portworth and was quiet impressed. While she might not fully understand the technological marvel it was, aesthetically it was beautiful. And the insides had been partially remodeled to resemble a shrine to Necra. It was extremely impressive. And would hopefully teach more outsiders about Necrova. Natrax had been particularly horrified hearing about the reactions of the outsiders at her crowning. Although she had to admit it was partially funny too. The Suzerain had wanted to send a show a force- a small detachment of military vessels, both historic and in-service. Natrax vetoed the idea. The last thing they needed was a dick measuring contest. Before Natrax had any power, she, like most of the Coalition, saw Wrex as the reasonable and understanding leader of the Delegation. But she was beginning to suspect more and more that it was just a mask.

Sitting next to Natrax was Noah, her oldest friend. The Archdruid was meant to be the one accompanying her, but the Ascendant was able to convince the Delegation otherwise. As Amelia told her at the Tytorian wedding, David liked to mix politics and events such as these. She figured by having a friend here, it would create a more causal presences rather than a business one. And Noah was not some Agni himself. Noah was a Seeker, in essence a hunter who has dedicated his life to Reaver. Natrax was also Seeker before her crowning, they had trained together.

With difficulty, Natrax attempted to eat the breakfast provided. She had placed the plate on her leg and was balancing it while trying to fork up the scrambled eggs. But her left hand was still not use to holding a fork. She decided to try a different tactic and went for the salmon. She stabbed into it and tried to brute force a chunk out, almost slipping her plate in the process. Noah eyed her, "Would you like some help?"

"I can feed myself." It came off harsher than she meant it. She thought about apologizing, but humbling herself was not a skill Natrax had learned quite yet. Noah took it in stride. When they were younger, really when Natrax was less mature, it was a trait she hated about Noah. No matter what abuse she threw at him, he understood she hadn't meant it and never held it against her. It was perhaps why he was the only one to grew so close to her when they were Seekers.

"So how is being the Ascendant? Is it everything you hoped for?"

"I never wished for any of this. You more than anyone else should know that." Noah sighed. It was one of his famous- I completely disagree, and I know I'm correct so I won't even attempt to argue with you. Natrax rolled her eyes, her customary response.

"Perhaps, but you always wanted something more. I always knew that. The life of a Seeker was never something you cherished. You even hated it."

"Could you blame me?"

"Now, no, I understand. But as a child? My best friend leaving me all alone without a word. It was a wound I nursed for many years."

"It wasn't about you."

"I know, but I always thought I was your brother."

This was a much rawer conversation than Natrax was prepared to have. Especially so early in the morning. She was still groggy from sleep. "Noah, now is not the time. Later." He nodded. Noah was always so damn reasonable. An attendant was passing by. "Excuse me, I'm finished with my meal, could you please take it?"

The waitress responded with the usual of course and took Natrax' plate. She looked over and saw David talking with some other figures. He was holding a woman's hand. The Lodjain. Stasya? They looked happy. Smiling in each other's presence. Happy people always made Natrax' skin crawl. She muttered under her breath, "I was your brother too."

Noah heard her whisper, but couldn't make out any distinct words. "What was that?"

"It's a lovely day for a festival, dontcha agree?'"

" Allcherjargo......Alrsjar....Allsherjargoði Nystrom" Sir Harry struggled with the pronounciation as the newly elected official from Nya Aland approached. "Congratulations on your recent victory" the man said shaking her hand gently. "Please take a seat" he gestured to one of the empty chairs around his breakfast table, the Naval Stewards were efficiently tidying away making space for the next diners or just people wishing to sit and socialise. Realising Nystrom may not have eaten the Minister of Defence waved a Steward over, "Please can you find our guest here some breakfast." He waited for the man to head off, "Now my understanding is that you had matters you wished to discuss?" Harry plonked another sugar cube into his morning cup of tea and stirred it carefully while waiting for the Alander to begin.

Meanwhile David had finished his breakfast and knew he had business to attend to, Stasya meanwhile was keen to catch up with some of her Lodjain friends who were expected any moment. David got to his feet, kissed Stasya on the cheek and then headed off. He swung by the table with Harry and Christine Nystrom on. "Allsherjargoði Nystrom congratulations on your victory" he greeted her, "I trust Sir Harry here will be looking after you're breakfast. I hope we can catch up when your business is done." and with that the King was gone. He greeted several others as he wound his way through the dining tent, some old military friends, a few members of the nobility, High Priestess Skye Maddix and of course his artist in residence Jocelyn Hopkins who was busy sketching away as she enjoyed a cup of coffee.

David was of course making an indirect line towards Natrax. "Good Morning" David said as he appeared at her table, "Glad you can come, I've heard some interesting tales about this boat of yours." the King said as a Naval Steward appeared and offered to pour more hot drinks. "No thank you" David said holding a hand over the top of his Green Tea. "I'm delighted you accepted our invitation. I used to find the Festival a great place for getting a little business done, however the last two years to less extent but I'm sure this year will be fine." he said touching the pommel of his sword just to give some luck. "Perhaps I can show you around a little." David said waiting for Natrax and Noah to get to their feet. As they headed out of the VIP and along a dockside a trio of East Moreland Security Agents made a protective bubble around them as David guided them through a wire mesh fence and up towards a rather smart looking white wooden building. "This is the Admiral's Boathouse" David explained as they entered, "Two hundred years ago it actually would have contained his yacht downstairs" David began to climb some stairs and through some interior windows a large cavernous room was visible, an indoor dock empty now. Soon David pushed open a door that lead to the roof, a small garden on top the usual private refuge of the nations leading naval officer, but today squared away for the King. A table was sat towards the edge three pairs of binoculars sat on the middle. " I think this is one of the best view points we have, unless of course you want to climb around 473 steps to the top of the light house." David pointed to the red and white hoop painted building that marked the entrance to the harbour. "My daughter counted them and was amazed it was the exact same number as last year." he chuckled, "Sadly she made me go with her." He gave the guests an outline of which ships sat where, the collection of masts of the training ships from Neu Urburzis, the Viking raiding ship from Aland and of course the liners from Rokkenjima. "I can recommend a ride in the Ekra-Badger too at some point, kind of like a sensation of what would happen if an airplane and a hovercraft had a baby." He explained. "It was now however time to begin to turn things towards business. "I hope you don't mind me bringing us somewhere a little more quiet. You see with the....circumstances..." David hoped he'd picked the right word, "Of your ascendancy we didn't really have a chance to speak and your representatives were a little occupied with the Krimeons. It is however good to see you looking much better than last time I saw you." He wondered what kind of impression he'd created himself there but with little he could do to change things he'd not dwell on it too long. "Now you may be aware that over the last five years we've had two outbreaks of piracy originating from rouge elements in Zimalia that have plagued the Illumic. Both times East Moreland and Seaforthian actions have put that down. Now I recently published a plan to members of the Mhorish and Illumic Co-Operative Agency to essentially formally divide all international waters in the two seas between the native nations for combating there being a third outbreak. As it stands you are not a member and frankly that means not included on my beautiful map "The King produced a hand finished map of the area on a piece of thick creamy paper and showed it Natrax. "I'm not that great with computers" he shrugged, "But its amazing what you can achieve with a ruler and a six year olds colouring crayons." He handed it over, "The idea was each nation would take responsibility for being the go to nation for securing their zone against piracy, they'd organise co-operation with the other nations and ultimately be the lead nation in terms of things such as Search and Rescue. I believe presently you're the only Illumic nation unaware of this plan and so naturally I'd first off like to make you aware of it before it gets determined by MICA, and secondly ask if you'd become part of it. So what do you think?"

The School Fleet had made it with time to Spare to East Moreland, and the incidents had kept to a couple of the older Teens getting wasted and needing disciplinary action by one of the accompanying vessels, and one torn Sail.

During the Parade all Vessels followed, with the four meant for Port splitting into Harbor while the other 14 Sailed back into the Bay for Anchoring. All 18 Ships had this year fired Smoke from the Canons instead of Biodegradable Glitter, it hadn't helped that people where complaining.

Hans was adjusting his Captains hat he inherited from Julian, nodding over to his Helmsman Waldemar: "Stay alert. I'll inspect the Crew one last time."

It was his second and last year as captain, next Year and he'd be to Old and Free again, a little anxious about the Crews Future, but they made good use of the SG19 now that their original Ship was in Dry dock. He checked everyone's Electronic shackles double that they wouldn't be visible once they Docked, and chastised some slack in Uniform. Giving his younger Members a slight slap on the back of their Head: "Get in Order, Today we represent our Nation, not our Convictions. This has proven to be a chance for several of our former Comrades to Proof themselves. Do not sully their Legacy, and do not threaten your chances. We stand together, united!"

Arriving at the dock, the group towed their ship down, as the other three ships got tied to the Pier right next. Hans crinched seeing the Pier getting marked with a Pair of decorated Shop Alarms. Usually used to catch Shoplifters these where used to make sure none of his Crewmembers left the Pier. A painful reminder they were still restricted heavily.

A couple of the other Kids flipped his Crew the Bird as they boastfully left for the Festival grounds, but one kid stuck out of the crowd. His face half fallen, almost as if the Kid had a stroke. Only when he noticed his Helmsman Waldemar duck below the rail avoiding being seen it hit him:

"That boy's your victim, isn't he?" he glanced over the Kid that, unlike the others, didn't flip birds or made any obscenities.

"Still got a restrain order, not that it usually matters since i'm locked up. I'll just stay on the Ship once you guys get your short tour." Waldemar nodded slowly, with Hans nodding: "I'm sorry."
"I Should be Hans, his Face is what i did. He woke from Coma but he had a small stroke. I did that to him, and no matter how hard i work, i can't undo that."
Hans shook his head, before kicking Waldemars shin: "You were just as much a victim in that, no one on this Ship will tell you otherwise."
"Thanks."

The Frontman of Sabaton grabbed Equipment as the started to build a small Stage on Deck of one of the three Ships, preparing to Blast their Songs of later the day. Especially their Song about the Giants of the Sea would be a crowd pleaser.

The Principal from Hans School prepared Informational Material on the SG02 - the Second Ship his School had running this Year. He didn't think they would garner any foreign students, it didn't work the last years, but it would give them a theme to Talk about aside the Summer Camps. All but the Naval one where to Start end of July so some Spots where still open for registration.

Julian Wingert glanced over to Hans and Saluted his former Underling, before inspecting the SG07. They'd use the Ship for Short Joyrides with the locals, though id had proven to be more popular with adults than kids the past years. He Glanced over to the Vikings not to far away Saluting them before preparing his own duties.

Albrecht, Orion and Augustin had arrived close to the Stage while David had given his Speech. It only took moments for Photographers turning towards the Three after Augustin had been mentioned in the Speech, Several Flashes lighting up as Pictures where taken.

Augustin tried to hide behind Orion, while he got some experience with publicity over the last few months the sudden attention came too much out of the blue for him. Albrecht nodded to their own Bodyguards to ensure some Space:

"Make sure they don't bother him. He's still just a kid."

Orion sighed, there was a reason why they used to have the law about this being illegal, glancing around the crowd he put on his studied polite Head-of-State-Smile, before walking over to the Photographers and Journalists, dragging Augustin with him, and pointing to a Kid Reporter. He was maybe ten, a little younger or a little older, with a flashy colored microphone and a Cameraman following him[1]:

"You get an interview with Prince Augustin. Only you." he glanced down to Augustin, nudging him gently: "Best get it over with now, then i'll make sure you can go over to say hello to Rhiannon."

He picked up his Smartphone, dialing his own Security staff, before glancing over to the Photographers:

"Since all of you are used to Deal with Mister Tucker, i'll be frank. I see any of you near Prince Augustin without asking us for Permission first you'll find my foot up your Arse."

Albrecht chuckled: "I'll stick with Augustin, you go over to the Sunseeker. The Emperor can't miss congratulating them."

Orion nodded, leaving Augustin with Albrecht and the young Reporter, while heading off towards the Sunseeker himself.

Natrax made a face to Noah telling him to observe. The two had known each other so well and so long they spoke without words. It was nice to see, even after their time apart, the language was still there. She laughed at David's discomfort when mentioning her crowning. "You mean when I lost my fucking arm? Yes, I heard tell of some of the, shall we say difference between our cultures. As for the matter of you lovely map, Nyx is more than willing to join MICA, the mutual protection of the waters surrounding us is a grave concern. By pooling our combined efforts we will be able to create peace and stability in the Illumic in an unprecedented scale. Although I have some questions, naturally. This empty space where the Illumic and Mhorish meet, is there a reason for its uninclusion? And of course how will the boundaries be redraw with our inclusion, especially the island of Erebyx?"

A few months ago, this was a conversation Natrax would never be able to take part in. But the Delegation had been tutoring her in the complex world of politics and the skills necessary to survive. She liked to imagine this is what school would have been like, having dropped out as a child. Such was the fate of many Agni children. It was more important that they work and provided income for the community.

David slid his map back so he could refamiliarise himself with it. "The problem we had when myself and some of our Naval guys sat and drew that was we had six nations to cover a pair of interconnected oceans. As a result it meant there would be a gap in coverage somewhere. Traditionally with the threat of piracy taking place in the bottle neck of the Illumic and not before, as well as considering that the various majority of pirate action has originated out of Zimalian ports it was the least likely attack point. Now in terms of the boundaries what we tried to do was in the first instance simply extend the boundaries of our exlcusive economic zones granted under the Fair Seas Concordt. When that left a few gaps we simply took into account nations naval powers and adapted them, making sure not to stray into other nations EEZ's. Now if your indicating that you plan on joining." David, ever the good Boy Scout, had a blank copy of the map waiting in his pocket and proceeded to sketch. " This is what I would envisage things looking like should you make the leap and join MICA." David slid the hastily sketched map back to Natrax. "Naturally we'll get someone with some cartography skills to make the real one." He shrugged. "I think its a division that will certainly make the Illumic safer and means the native nations can easily secure the area against threats similar to piracy we've experienced in the past."

Meanwhile Malcolm Tucker had finished verbally lashing the media once more before pushing a hole between a few of them. A small boy in school uniform, a grey blazer jacket hemmed in red, grey and red striped tie and tailored shorts stood nervously holding a clipboard that seemed far too big for him. "Tell them who you are" Tucker gently nudged him.

" I'm Alex Rushton.....erm.....from Class 6C Northfort Boys Primary School" he part mumbled.

"Nice and clear" Tucker urged him as he scanned his classmates list of questions aimed for various VIP's

"Erm...Prince Augustin" the boy began politely. " How are your rabbits?" He asked referring to the boys pets that had been thrown in with the Crocodiles. He waited for the response and held his voice recorder out just how "Miss" had told him to. Having waited for the answer he asked his next question feeling less nervous. "What's the best thing about being a Neu Urburzis Prince and what's the worst?" He was beginning to get into the swing of it now, "What foreign boat are you most looking forward to seeing and why?" He looked down listening as the Prince spoke and selected a final question, " What's your favourite school dinner?" He stood, waited for the Prince to finish, turned the voice recorder off and thanked  the Prince with a bow. Tucker helped guide him back to his waiting class who cheered as he rejoined them.

Tucker turned back to the Press. "OK you got some info on the Young Prince, now piss off." he waved them away. He handed his phone number to Albrecht, "Any press problems just tell them you'll ring me, if they cause you any more bother just phone me and then give them your phone.....probably best the youngster isn't around when you do." Tucker winked and then disappeared off already putting his phone to his ear.

If there was one thing to be said for luck it was that it was helpful to have it at times and this was one of them - Peter, Esme and Eleanor had just finished getting through breakfast in the VIP area, David was busy with another guest so Peter would wait before speaking to him. Fortunately they were close enough to overhear the word 'Sunseeker' which was Eleanor's cue to vanish back to the ship in question, hopefully beating the Uburzi's group there. Peter and Esme just giggled, she was probably the most 'ordinary' person among the VIP guests.

"Why does she never get in the Mundus Games team, strikes me she'd be good in them?" Peter asked
"Her choice." Esme said "She never enters the trials."

Over at the Sharingan, the crew were lining up for their opening baseball shift, they even had their own special kits as a sort of bonding exercise within the crew complete with names and numbers. The shirts were midnight blue with white for the name and number, the ship's badge displayed where one would expect. Yuki stood in the pitcher's position tossing a tennis ball in her hand, they didn't want to take chances with anything. The first batter was a local kid looked to be about ten years old, she pitched and the ball got hit, normally Yuki being a pitcher would have been annoyed by that but this was all about having fun. The next batter was a girl of roughly the same age, Yuki pitched again and this time when the ball got hit it went out onto the dock.

"Home run." Yuki said "Go and see Midshipman Latham for a prize." the Midshipman was on the dockside handing out prizes such as sweets and stuffed animals to anyone who managed to hit such a thing, there were also prizes for those who didn't. Celine was standing off to the side applauding the game then she froze, her hands tightening on the rail as she spotted Vincenzo.

Eleanor had arrived back at the Sunseeker and had started explaining the vessel to some of the locals when she saw Orion approaching

"Heads up Eleanor you've got royalty incoming." Catriona said
"I see him." Eleanor said, taking a moment to compose herself talking to royalty wasn't exactly her forte after all.

Albrecht nudged the nervous Augustin to straighten up a little when interviewed, though the young boy nervously fumbled with hands on the side of his clothes, while rocking back and forth on his feet as the sixth grader introduced himself.

He eased up a little once he realized the older boy also was somewhat nervous, slowly stopping his constant movement:

"Schnuffelchen is fine but old. He's not so fast anymore like fe younger Bunnies." His English had significantly improved overe the past year, probably with a lot of tears and work, but still struggling with his pronounciation:

"But you want to know about fe crocodile bunny, fat is Hänsel. He's also doing fine but he is my younger brofer Hadrian... Hänsel belongs to him. I tried to protect him last year but run in wif no finking."

As the second question came, augustin glanced up to albrecht then pointing to his own rear, with albrecht clearly shaking his head several times, he then turned back to Alex: "Hm. Worst is... i fink fat fer is no one my age to be around wif aside my cousins. We always stay in the palace so i have no friends outside since i don't know anyone. Well hopefully Rhiannon finks shes my friend."

He then scratches his head, seemingly trying to make up hsi mind for the best thing: "I fink it's fat i could help ofers to not be sick anymore. Some kids back home found help because i spoke up. Fat and living in a huge ass---" at this point he got a less gently nudge from albrecht: "amazing palace."

Rubbing his arm where Albrecht had not so gently stopped him from cursing he gave him a pouting glance before turning back to Alex after the following question:
"The Vikings. Because Rhiannon is there."

As the final question came round, Augustin raised his head and looked at Albrecht: "Was meint er?" Albrecht shaking his head: "Schul Essen. Hast du noch nicht."

Augustin looked with an apologizing shrug to alex: "I'm i fink you call it home schooled? We haf teachers coming to us. But my favorite Dinner is Tiny Bratwürste? Bratwursts? wif Potatoes and Spinach and Egg. You'd haf to ask Ori for School Dinner."

Albrecht visible shuddered: "I think it's nasty."

Albrecht took the Phone number, nodding: "I'll keep this safe from Orion or he'll call you in the middle of the Night."  before nudging the young Prince: "Let's go to the Vikings. I'll stay close but once we are there you can have some fun as well."

The two then made their way over to the viking ship, where Albrecht kept his Distance as he let Augustin try and make his way to Rhiannon, though he was somewhat intimidated by the Viking actors. He stood before the first one in line, saluting him:

"Asking for permission to approach fe princess."

Orion garnered quite the bit of turned heads and he tried his best to cement a smile on his face after arriving at the Sunseeker, he made a Beeline to Eleanor, with his Bodyguards in tow:

"I'm assuming you are the Person to congratulate for the first Solar Circumvention?"

He glanced around the Ship for signs of anyone disagreeing before properly posturing and offering his hand to her:

"As Emperor Orion of Neu Uburzis i wish to extend mine and my peoples heartfelt congratulations on your achievements and to all those who helped build the Sunseeker. The Ship is a great Symbol of what we all can still achieve without destroying the Planet. And if you don't mind, i'd love to see the Ship close up with someone explaining me how you managed to make this work."

It was a rather strange Lodjain delegation this year. Queen Klara had elected to stay home and had insted dispatched Princess Alana she was Queen Viktoria's younger sister and tradition dictated that a Queen's family for five generations could hold royal titles, they also were expected to serve the Queen as well. Alana was now 18 and as such Klara fully intended to use her, be it as a political marriage pawn or as a kind of high ranking ambassador. Alana had also spent time in East Moreland when she was 16 as part of the Network of Crowns Grand Tour she'd undertaken and she had rather liked the country. She was this time accompanied by two of her Queen's Ministers.

Dragan Knežević however wasn't so thrilled about the event. It was a hot summers day and he didn't cope well in such conditions, his fair skin already felt like it was cooking and so he applied another coat of a high factor suncream. He'd been sent with a very specific mission on behalf of his Queen, buy a new royal yacht. Klara had refused to use the old one since that Cabbage woman had died onboard. It was now sat bobbing in the Isle of the Goddess' harbour practically untouched for the last 12 months except for King Leopold taking it out for a few fishing trips with the boys. It meant that the Queen needed a new one especially with summer coming and it meant that the Queen would be expected to attend many of the functions on the islands. With Dragan holding the nations purse strings he'd drawn the metaphorical short straw and was now baking in the heat, perhaps he should move to Aland.

With Dragan Klara had dispatched a second Minister, Yuily Shvets was the newest member of the Conclave and not as yet experienced in dealing with other nations, he was however engineering minded and so as a result was essentially here to cast an eye over the potential new yacht. He was rather enjoying himself, a fine champagne breakfast and a bit of a show in the form of the parade of boats had got things off to a good start for him. "So, we go and find this boat and then enjoy the Festival right?" He asked Dragan who simply nodded as he rubbed suncream into his neck.

"I'm going to go visit that rocket launching thing" Princess Alana announced "Enjoy boat shopping" The young Princess headed off, she figured speaking with the Albion neighbours would be a good start and upon reaching them introduced herself to Professor Magnus Hendriksson, "I don't suppose I could have a tour could I?" She asked.

Meanwhile Dragan and Yuily headed off in search of some luxury boats for sale.

"By the Gods, I could get used to weather like this!" Prince Allan shouted as the Imperial family's yacht made its way into the harbor, an immense grin plastered across his face. Then he looked back at another figure on deck, laughing, "Right, Voryn?"

The figure in question was a young man of the same dark skin tone as Allan, but with a braid of brown hair so dark it might as well be black and a morose expression across his face. He sighed, "It isn't that much cooler than home."

"Maybe, but Moreland doesn't feel like the air is trying to drown me," then he made his way over to his nephew and put an arm around him, "Come on, smile! We're on vacation! Kind of. Enjoy yourself."

"No disrespect intended Allan, but I would very much rather be back home. With my wife. And my daughter. Who is only a month old," Voryn replied, deadpan.

"This again man? Really?"

"Forgive me if I happen to want to see my child, Allan," came the reply, hostility creeping into Voryn's voice.

"Then why didn't you say no?" Allan asked, exasperated, "Ælirn asked you to do this. She didn't tell you to. She'd never do that. You could've just said 'no'."

When there was no answer forthcoming Allan retracted his arm and sighed, shaking his head as he wandered off to the front of the yacht to take in the scenery. Once he'd left, Voryn sighed as well and looked out over the water, "No I couldn't."

What little remained of the voyage passed quickly and uneventfully. The pair watched King David's speech in silence before heading off to the fairgrounds proper. It'd probably be a good idea to find King David and introduce themselves personally and failing that they could just wander around looking for anybody important who was mulling about, East Morelandish or otherwise.

------

The ANS Mariam was coming into the harbor around the same time and the mood aboard the ship was a festive one. The crewmen actually running the ship all wore replicas of the former Attican Royal Navy's uniforms and those aboard who weren't manning the ship itself were all bedecked in traditional Attican dress. Everyone onboard was exciting for the festival to come as it was a chance to not only enjoy themselves but to share the story of their people and their culture with the wider world. And among these celebrating people was Ithana Tyraa and her husband Levon Babayan.

She shifted her dress once again trying to make it as comfortable as she could; honestly Ithana had never been the greatest fan of her Attican heritage's manner of dress. But she was here as a part of that people and it'd be untoward of her to dress as a Xæthoon. And besides her poor husband had to dress in traditional Xæthoon clothing whenever the pair of them were at an event representing Xæth, so the least she could do was inconvenience herself for this. The pair of them stood at the edge of the ship, gazing out over the sea in blissful silence. She'd have business to attend here later, just a small speech, but there was still time for her and Levon to go out and enjoy the festival for a short while first. It was nice being on a visit to a foreign land without the weight of any official diplomatic business. Of course she would be attending the King's Banquet in an official capacity, but for the moment she was not Ithana Tyraa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Xæth. No, she was simply Ithana Zabel Tyraa-Vardanyan.

As Théodore, Vicenzo and Viviano wandered and looked around at the port, Vicenzo proposed a plan "well amigos, i think it would be a good idea to split up and go to the places that interest us and also talk with some other important people, i will be heading to the viking boat because vikings are super badass."  and the trio splitted up. Viviano returned to the HMS Mhorish to guide the people in tours and Vicenzo enjoyed the atmosphere as he walked around the port. As Théodore looked around, he in all of a sudden spotted a bunch of cameras and journalists running towards him and he rapidly turned around and searched for a place where they would interview them, he then spotted the VIP area and ran to it as fast as he could, he was almost out of breath when he had arrived and started to look around him and spotted some of the biggest world leaders, Emperor Peter, King David and many others, in fact this was the first international meeting of Vaguzian Royals since the death of King Leonard. Prince Théodore decided to step towards Peter and Esme "Goodmorning, your Majesty and your Imperial Highness, i would like to introduce myself, i am Prince Théodore of the Kingdom of Vaguzia and i help my cousin Prince Vincenzo with international businesses, because Vincenzo himself is not really, lets say.... interested in that stuff, so i thought it was really important to greet one of our greatest allies firstly at this great festival. "

Vicenzo didnt really came here to meet with leaders so he just went to a pub instead, he tried some of the best Morelandish whiskeys and some of the very best Bakkermayan beers, after an half hour of drinking, a random local Morelander walked towards him and recognised him "Hey, arent you that Vaguzian Prince?!" a really drunk Vincenzo replied "Yyyesssa, but i amm enjoyinnngg a beeerrrrr, sssoooo, ssssss, pleasss be quiet"
The Morelander understood and walked back to his seat at the bar. After around 15 more Bakkermayan beers, Vincenzo in all of a sudden got in the mood to go back to the festival, he paid the bill and gave a tip around 500 pounds and walked backed towards the festival. As he wobbled around the port he spotted the viking ship he had originally promised to visit to Théodore, he slowly wobbled to the ship and he now spotted a few people talking with a Neu Uburzis accent, he walked up to those people and introduced himself talking slightly drunk "Hi, i am Prince Vincenzo, i believe our nations have never actually had any real contact, have we?"

Natrax eyed the map. She was a little out of her element, but it looked acceptable to her. She knew the Nythymn military was primarily concerned with the protection of Erebyx. "This all looks good to me. I'm afraid I'm not of a military mind, so there is little I can comment on." She laughed and winked at Noah. "I will give my own recommendation to the rest of the Delegation when I return. I'm doubtful there will be little complaint about joining MICA, the Delegation has already voted in favor. We just have to officially send the request and we were waiting until after the festival. But it looks like with the addition of the Nythymn navy, we get a full coverage of the waves. Is there any other matter you'd wish to discuss while I'm here? I received some advice from another Morelander that I should take some time to just enjoy things. Not to sound like I'm rushing you in any way. Sorry, maybe not the best time to bring it up. You'll have to figure me, I am still new to this." She laughed again. Natrax had always tried to make light of serious situations. She felt it often put those around her off-guard. And an enemy that's lost their footing is a vulnerable one.

Rhiannon Farmer was thrilled to be in East Moreland for the festival, any chance to be in the Holy Land was a good thing as far as she was concerned. She'd made a point of arriving a few days early to go and view the God's Forge, a place her faith told her Jekar had passed on the knowledge of swordsmanship and smithing to Raimond Unasson. She'd persuaded the Priestess there to allow her to stay on after the general public had been ushered out for the evening. She'd knelt before the alter in prayer finding herself weeping as she held her own sword tight in her hand. She was so happy to finally have a chance to kneel where Unasson had.

The next day she'd meet up with Giles Morrison he was going to watch her back at the Festival, it wasn't that she felt unsafe it was just that while East Moreland was her spiritual home it was also where her big brother had been killed by the Borlanders and so she couldn't help but feel a pang of nervousness. He too had wanted to visit the Festival but not for its spiritual connection, he had business on his mind and as the pair strolled around the Festival he handed out business cards to Morriboyd Protection to anyone looking like they were involved in Merchant shipping. "So then Duchess where are we heading now." Giles asked having finished his breakfast.

"I'd like to go find the Princess Rhiannon" the Duchess said referring to her namesake. "I think its important us Rhiannon's stick together" the Duchess placed her napkin across her plate indicating she'd done and then drained her orange juice. They headed over towards the Viking ship, it was clear the Princess was having fun and it also looked like the young Prince from Neu Urburzis was waiting for her. "We'll catch up with her later." Rhiannon said content for a moment just to survey the scene.

"Xaeth Royalty, six o-clock" Giles whispered to Rhiannon who spun round and saw Prince Allan seemingly wandering around.

"Why not hey" Rhiannon said as the duo headed over. "Prince Allan" Rhiannon gave a small bow, "I'm Duchess Rhiannon of Harby" she said, "and this is Giles Morrison my associate." she said before noticing Voryn. "and Prince...I mean King Voryn too....nice to meet you." she gave a second bow slightly lower than the one given to Allan.

"Pleased to meet you" Giles nodded respectfully. "I run a company providing Maritime Security" he handed over a card, "Figured a festival like this would be a useful place to visit" he smiled as Rhiannon shook her head dismayed at his blatant marketing but couldn't help but grin.

"Personally I'm just here to soak up the atmosphere and very much looking forward to the banquet and meeting King David" she gushed a little realising how much like some silly teenage fan girl she must have sounded. "I believe he's had some contact with Xaeth in the past. Have you meet him?" she blushed realising what she must sound like. "Mind if I ask if your here for anything in particular, maybe me and Giles could have an explore with you two." She asked.

David was rather pleased that Natrax was planning to sign up to MICA. "Well I'm glad to have you onboard....so to speak" the King said as he folded up the sketch map. "What I'd like to ensure is that if for some unforseen reason you don't end up joining MICA we have some formal connection between our two nations." David tapped away on his mobile phone and brought up the Charter or MICA. "Perhaps we have an agreement nation to nation for Articles 3,4,6, 8 & 13. That way we have some basic relationship even if MICA doesn't come about. I'd also like your permission for perhaps some naval search and rescue exercises between our nations. If it is likely we're going to have to work together in terms of broader security so we may as well start getting to know how each other works." He was aware that his guest was keen to perhaps see something of the festival and so having finished off drinks lead her back down towards the Festival grounds. A duo of suited security agents made a path through the crowd for them. David walked them down towards the EkraBadger II it was sat bobbing away at the quayside, it was scheduled for some demonstration in about thirty minutes and a group of Red Legionnaires were busy prepping gear.

"Squad....squad 'Shun" a voice called and the men, all with unmatching uniform and a variety of small arms stood nonchelantly at attention as a young Liutenant saluted. "Your Majesty, come to watch us sir?" the officer asked eagerly.

"Kind of." David smiled, "This is Ascendant Natrax" the King introduced them, "I just wanted to let her see this piece of engineering." He lead her up to the flight deck where the pilot, loadmaster, navigator and weapons operator were doing pre-take off checks. David waved a hand signalling for them to continue and took one of the two jump seats behind them. He picked up a head-set switched it to Channel 5, a different one to the flight crew, and handed it Natrax before putting on one of his own. "Allow me" he motioned for her to sit before ensuring the flight harness was secure, it was a complex job if you'd never flown a jet before as it mimiced the Air Forces own system. "I rather love these things" David explained, "As far as I'm aware we're the only nation on Mundus that utilises ground effect vehicles in our Navy. It's 1980's technology but we found a role for it, rapid reaction." Without warning a mighty roar sounded as the engines spun up and the air frame began to vibrate. The Red Legionnaire officer poked his head into the cockpit, gave a thumbs up and retreated. The loadmaster turned, visually checked the two guests harnesses and then gave a thumbs up. The aircraft began to skip along the water, its hull like a boat cutting through the smooth sea. Soon a cushion of air had built up under the wings and the pilot lifted them up, not high, just ten meters above the sea. Soon they were up to 350mph the sea just a few meters beneath them. The pilot climbed slightly and banked right turning them towards the beach. They ran in straight towards the land. David flicked the Channels on their head-sets to 3, the same as the crew.

"Red Legion thirty seconds." the loadmaster said. In the rear a flurry of activity saw men preparing. The pilot flew parallel to the beach now, various radar systems and sensors telling them data such as water depth and ground speeds, the boat kissed the water, speed down to around 60mph it became a boat again as the pilot performed a manouver akin to a handbrake turn creating a feeling like a roller coaster. There was a metallic clang in the back followed by three loud booms. Soon on cameras in the cockpit the rear emptied as the Red Legionnaires performed a text book beach landing to the applause and cheers of an assembled crowd. The pilot let the Ekrabadger settle down and then turned to the guests. "Cup of tea Your Majesty?" he asked casually as they waited for the Festival's main area to give them the OK to return, it would be about ten minutes.

"Thanks" David said as the pilot unwrapped a flask and proceeded to pour David and Natrax a cup of tea. David had unstrapped himself and thanking the pilot for the tea he walked into the back of the plane and unceremoniously slipped his shoes and socks off before rolling his trouser legs up and dangling his feet off the rear ramp like a child sat on the sea wall. " I enjoy being able to do things like this." he looked back towards the festival the masts of large old ships visible. "I can't imagine sailing one of those, a vessel that would have taken weeks to get across the Mhorish, we can now do it in a few hours. Incredible" he mused. "Its reasons like this we need to ensure we're capable of working together" he said as he sipped his tea. "Now when we get back to the Festival grounds is there anything in particular you'd like to see, anyone I can introduce you too. After all sadly at your crowning event you didn't really have the chance to socialise." He paused for a moment before turning to face her, "Was it worth it?" He asked.

Rhiannon was busy painting herself a shield, quarters of red and white it would have had a Honeybadger on but she couldn't draw them and so settled for the colours. It was made of light wood and rimmed in foam, specially designed for children. The Princess had paint all over her hands and even on her face despite the best efforts of her Security Agent Abby Kenwick. Rhiannon simply told everyone it was war paint. As Augustin meet the Vikings they let him onboard the ship where several youngsters were taking part in the craft shield painting activity. "Augustin" Rhiannon smiled and waved him over and handed him a paintbrush. "We need to paint this bit Red then we can make you one." she didn't hesitate in returning to her task. "Then we can make a shield wall then get ice cream." She waited a moment or two and then regardless of her loaned white apron being covered in paint gave him a friendly hug."

Stasya had naturally wanted to accompany her beloved, major events like this were a great way of getting herself into the media and that meant it looked like she was doing a great deal to ingratiate the Lodjains to the Morelanders. It also wouldn't do her own reputation any harm either in terms of publicity for her fashion chain and endorsements the joys of the internet provided.

She had seen Dragan and Yuily arrive and now with David off with his diplomatic stuff she found time for her countrymen. She had overheard them discussing the purchase of the yacht, she remembered the events of the year before when the lady from Cabbagelandiet had died and frankly she couldn't blame Klara for getting rid of the previous one. It had brought back good memories though, various parties onboard when it had belonged to Viktoria. "Now gentleman" she forced her way between the two men linking an arm with each. "Rumour has it your boat buying and naturally you'd need a woman's insight. You two boys buying the thing it'll probably be all bar and nowhere for a lady to store her make up." she headed off with the pair.

"I'm Glad Augustin wears washable linen clothes today..." Albrecht was watching the hug and Augustin drying some wet stains from his eyes, hugging Rhiannon back tightly:

"I'm happy you are ok now." he said before glancing at Abby: "Sowwy Miss for causing Trouble last time." he meekly said, before painting shields with Rhiannon: "I'll be back in your City in August. Will you be around?" he gave a thumb up to Albrecht on the outskirts of the ship, telling him he was doing ok.
"Also, how's Goldie? Did she miss you? Ori said she couldn't visit you for fat time. Fat must have made her sad, too. She is surely happier now again."

Albrecht then let out a lengthy sigh, noticing the drunk Vincenco approaching him. At least Heydar had class... this was Lapu level of embarrassment:
"Not that i am aware off, your Highness. I'm Prince Regent Albrecht of Uburzis, a pleasure to meet you."
Not really, Albrecht thought to himself but kept a gentle smile on his Lips:
"The beverages seem to be a fine assortment, what did you have?"
And how much must you have had. Be glad your not one of mine.

Prince Allan was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the Bakkermayans as it was always lovely meeting new people. "Well Duchess Rhiannon and Mr. Morris, it's great to meet you," he said with a smile, pocketing the business and primptly forgetting about its existence.

"A pleasure," Voryn added with a solemn nod.

"Well, to be honest we're here for much the same reason you are: enjoying the festival and meeting King David; so far it looks like it'll be a fun time for everyone. But, no. I haven't actually met King David before. He attended my niece's enthronement and I'm sure we were introduced at some point, but I had other things on my mind that night," Allan said with a shrug, grinning as he remembered that night. It'd been quite wonderful, even if he'd had to deal with his Aunt chewing him out the next morning for having the audacity to take a widowed noblewoman to bed.

Voryn sighed as he saw his uncle in his short reverie, then focused his attention on the Bakkermayan pair, "We were on our way to say hello to King David at present. But we are not on a strict schedule, so it would be a pleasure to accompany you and be accompanied whilst we all see what the Festival has to offer."

"Yeah, gonna be honest I'm not 100% on what all is even here this year," Allan said with a shrug, "I am, however, 100% sure that I want to find something to eat first. So yeah, come along if you want."

The mere mention of Vicenzo was enough to ring alarm bells in Peter's head and the day was going so well too the thought ran around his head. Esme knew the story and knew the look in Peter's eyes so she took the initiative.

"You'll have to forgive my brother he has a lot on his mind at the moment, many balls to juggle and keep in the air." Esme said guiding Théodore to one side and throwing a look at Peter that said 'Go and deal with it', the Emperor duly nodded his thanks to his sister and went off hunting for Vincenzo, Esme then turned her attention back to the Vaguzian Prince "I understand you graduated from Valtheim Metropolitan University, according to my daughter you get talked about a bit in lectures. So how has life settled in Vaguzia?"

Over at the Sunseeker Catriona and Eleanor were all smiles.

"Of course Your Majesty." Catriona said "Perhaps if Eleanor gave you the tour and I explain the technical stuff?"

Rhiannon took the questions in her stride, "Goldie is brilliant" she said, she pointed to her short regrowing blonde hair, "Its fuzzy like Goldie" she said and rubbed her head against Augustin as if to demonstrate as she picked up some black point and added some lines to her shield. "You done?" She looked over at Augustins and waited for him to get finished painting his own shield. By this time David had arrived, he'd waited for the Red Legionnaires to sort things out with the Ekrabadger while soaking his feet in the Mhorish and the return journey done he bid the Ascendant a pleasant festival and hoped to catch up with her later. He'd then headed off to find his daughter and was not surprised at where he found her. "Vavma come and look" Rhiannon waved at her father and held up her shield.

"Very good work" her father said as he gave it a light tap as Rhiannon held it as though to block. "Oh." David looked at his finger tips now covered in red paint.

"Silly we only just finished it" Rhiannon chuckled as David carefully took a handkerchief from his pocket and did his best to wipe the paint off. "Augustin made one too" without much warning she grabbed Augustin by the shoulder and kind of hauled him in front of her father.

"Careful" David warned Rhiannon. "Nice to see you Prince Augustin" David said as he smiled at the young boy. "I think Rhiannon we may need to see more than just Vikings." Rhiannon's face fell. "They're here for three more days, your Mother's bringing you tomorrow I'm sure she'd like to see you make another shield." Rhiannon for a moment thought.

"Is Sam racing?" She asked, David had to think about what the Formula Mundus calender had lined up but thought it was one of the races.

"Yes." David said wondering where his daughter was going with this.

"Brilliant" Rhiannon gave a little jump, "He'd be making me smile for photographers but Mummy will let me play." David was a little concerned by the comment and made a mental note to have a word with Tucker about Sam's apparent use of his daughter as a media tool. "And I can help Oliver make one." she said referring to her step-brother. Rhiannon turned to Augustin. "I've a 2 year old step-brother called Oliver. He's always ill, not like I was, like how my twin Caspy was." she went quiet for a moment or two. "But it means I get to help him do fun things like this." She was already planning on what she was going to make on his shield.

"I think if Prince Albrecht has no objections" David looked over at Augustin's accompanying adult, "We should perhaps go and get an ice cream, and then maybe you two would like to go on the Portworth Eye." It was a huge ferris wheel at the centre of the Festival grounds giving a view out over the whole city. Ice cream was enough to see Rhiannon sheath her sword, sling her shield onto her back and grab her father's hand. "You're obviously welcome to join us" David extended the invite to Albrecht.

Orion nodded to Catrionar and Eleanor: "It would be my pleasure. Please. This isn't me as Emperor right now, i genuinely want to know how this ship operates." he smiled: "I'm very sure a lot of the Sturmheim Cadets will come visit the Sunseeker in the next days as well. Your boat is fairly popular with Science Teacher."
He made a notion to nod to the sail ships:
"But please, i'm excited. Begin the Tour and just try to ignore the Bodyguards of mine."

Augustin shyly stayed back, he seemed even somewhat sad watching the Father daughter interaction. He tightly gripped his shield that he painted, tilting his head: "I wanted to paint a bunny on red and white, but fat would be Hassfurt..." instead he held the Shield towards Albrecht for a moment, which was a very crude bunny on black and yellow.

With the reporters mentioned, Augustin meekly replied: "I got interviewed earlier... still not used to fat stuff happening..." he then nodded to Rhiannon: "But fe jour... jurr... Newspaper person fing was actually a kid i fink a bit younger fan Ori! He was nice!"

When she mentioned her younger Brother Augustin nods slowly: "I have two younger brofers. You met Hadrian at fe zoo, we saved his bunny. Caius is still too little to travel so far. But maybe he and Oliver will like each other, because he's also two!"

He then slowly nods as Rhiannon seemed shortly sad about caspian: "I have to the best big brofer for fem, because my parents are..."

David seemed to have hit a good timing disrupting the two kids talking too much about the people they lost, and the Bodyguards relayed it to Albrecht who was still stuck with a drunk Vaguzian prince. He gave a big Thumbs up towards David from where he was standing a couple meters away from the boat, and signed one of the bodyguards to join Abby.
