OOC - Had hoped there would have been developments with this but figure need to make it global. IC'ly this just happened

ALERT

Several hours ago four armed individuals attacked a court vehicle and abducted a lawfully charged criminal suspect. Yanni Tawfeek was lawfully arrested in Kaitaine and after investigation was linked to crimes against humanity during the Seleucid occupation of our nation. He is now a fugitive from justice. It is likely that the suspect and his accomplices have now left our nation and we urge all nations, especially those in Ardia to be on the look out for this individual who is likely to be armed and dangerous. We seek his return to Hunter's Bay to stand trial. We furthermore request the four individuals, suspected to be Seleucid nations, are arrested and returned to stand trial for murder, terrorism and aiding a suspect in escape.

KING PIRIPI ANNOUNCES A" PERIOD OF WELCOMING"

The King has declared the next week is to be a period of welcoming. It was confirmed that the Commonwealth has secured the freedom of some 72 Maori from slavery in Tamora. The rescued people have never set foot in the Iwi and were born in captivity. The King will welcome them as they arrive in Hunter's Bay and following a private briefing of the leaders of various Iwi all have agreed to adopt all of the former slaves if necessary. It is believed that DNA samples will be taken from each of the 72 and compared to national DNA records created following the victory over the Seleucid to try and trace the individuals ancestral links.

The King says that he hopes this is the first of many "homecomings" for Maori slaves, around two million exist.

"Today we will welcome to their ancestoral home 72 brothers and sisters lost to their Iwi. Their Tapu unable to connect with the land their forefathers called home. Today that will be put right and they will be free, loved and cared for. We have no idea what they will know of Maori culture and traditions. It is my deep hope that despite the hardship some of them will have experienced for generations that somehow they kept them alive, a struggle every bit as worthy as that we who carried weapons fought. These are people with no Iwi, but we have shown the world we are always happy to open our Iwi's arms to all and welcome new members in should they embrace our culture and ethics. I am proud that every single one of our tribes (Iwi) have stepped forward and said unconditionally these men and women can become part of their family. This will hopefully keep the hope alive for others in forced servitude that we will come for you as and when we can."

OFFER OF FOOD FOR SLAVES
[/b][/u][/size]

The Commonwealth of the Unified Iwi is a land blessed with fertile soils and a sound agricultural sector. We have witnessed in the previous weeks that Royal Seleucid have seen problems with their own food supplies. Despite being enemies we do not wish to see any people starve to death, but at the same time it is not possible for us to give food to a nation that recently attacked us with biological weapons without us havig a good reason to. We therefore offer a deal. We shall provide Royal Seleucid with supplies of food in return for them using their friendship with Tamora to see Maori slaves released. We shall donate one standard sized container of food for every 30 slaves freed from servitude.

STATEMENT ON UI CENNESLAIG ACTION

While we appreciate the support of our CNN neighbours we are dismayed that they are also offering support to a nation that has committed genocide on our people and have repeatedly made comments against our people that paint us as a race being subhuman.

Additionally we are keen to point out that at no time have our nation violated the FSC. Under the FSC it is accepted that the laws of the vessels flagged nation or the laws of the nearest coastal state may be enforced. As the ship was Lodjain and passing closest to the Iwi when we arrested the individual no law was broken. The Iwi did not seize the vessel nor interfere with its innocent passage. We made a lawful arrest of a wanted criminal who was guilty of a crime recognised by both the flagged state and the closest coastal nation. It is therefore a falsehood to state the Unified Iwi has ever broken the FSC.

We shall now consider any Seleucid, Tamoran or aligned vessel passing through our waters a threat in line with reciprocation of King Heydars "Box of Death" policy. Furthermore we request formally that Ui Cenneslaig do not send ships to either nation beyond their treaty obligations.

Following reports that the Seleucid government is seeking to end the Celtic Protectorate the Commonwealth of the Unified Iwi believe that to end the protective agreement would be a mistake. We have seen ourselves first hand the terror and genocidal activities the Seleucid are capable of carrying out. We believe that the Seleucid have done nothing to reassure the world that these acts are behind them. We have asked on several occasions for the extradition of war criminals however they have refused to allow justice to be done.

Additionally we have now been waiting over 12 months for the Seleucid criminal Yanni Tawfeek  to be returned to our custody from Rokkenjima where he escaped to following the Seleucid government using violence to free him from legal custody during his trial. We now have waited 14 months for justice to be done and this clearly shows the world do not face up strongly to genocidal actions. The remaining presence of the Celtic Protectorate is the only way to protect the Cultists of Royal Seleucid from international apathy.

Following consultation with the Minister of Defence it has been announced that King Piripi will formally table a bid to buy the retiring East Moreland aircraft carrier.  The Arawa will be retired if the bid is accepted. The Arawa entered service in 1950.

Following the drawn out and ill managed issue with the return of the Marseilles former army officer Cartier for trial it should be obvious that the wider international community view mindless beurocracy as favourable to justice. While the international system remains steadfastly resolute about bogging down the process of bringing war criminals to justice we shall not apologise for ensuring those responsible for the torture, cruelty and death brought upon our people face their day in court. Our court systems are open and transparent and any individual may attend these trials to witness justice being done. To date few nations have sought to co-operate with our desire to see some of histories worst perpetrators of genocide brought to justice. Should the international community take steps to ensure such things happen then naturally the Unified Iwi will support it and actions such as having to remove a known criminal from a cruise ship will not be necessary.

Today I have  confirmed with CNN Partners that this summers naval exercises will be cancelled. In their place the nations of Lodja, Ui Cenneslaig and East Moreland will deploy ships to Hunters Bay as part of preparations for an expected humanitarian operation in Kalasin. I have already asked the King of East Moreland to release the provisions and equipment stored onboard the REMNS Reliant, their global pre-positioning ship which is currently in port here. While the initial aim of this deployment is to aid in any humanitarian requirements we are also hopeful of finding a peaceful solution to this looming crisis and as such the CNN HQ in Ui Cenneslaig is open to any who wish to accept our offer of mediation.

Signed

King Piripi
