Jiahao Hsu was no stranger to Altona. Over the last few years the families "Spice Business" had been sending goods to Altona. Whether it was small quantities of vastly overpriced Tumeric, Star Anise or various other exotic flavourings or in some cases just boxes of "leaves" the idea was simple. The Dreher family made regular payments to Jiahao's father Tao who ran one of Lijiang's biggest drug rings among other enterprises. In truth the spice stores sold very little real product but on paper did great business allowing the Drehers to effecively "clean" money for Tao. It had worked well with Lijiangs economy being rather basic and unsophisticated but that was changing on a daily basis and so a new arrangement would perhaps be needed. Beside there were other issues that Tao wanted his son to discuss with their Altonian partners.
As usual Jiahao arrived on a busy scheduled flight via East Moreland, a route that was becoming more used since the two nations had begun co-operation on art and sport. He had his bag checked and some of his "samples" were swabbed for drugs. As always there was nothing, lemongrass and tumeric tended not to be of too much concern to the locals. Once through immigration he looked around for his ride and waited patiently.
