Hello there (not a Star Wars reference at all).
I am the Emperor of the Greater Libertdomus. First of all I hope I will have fun with you all here and I'm really happy to meet you all. I'm kinda new to nationstates so I don't know if I'm going to stay long or not. Still I'm going to try !
So let's now go straight to the point !
The Empire of Greater Libertdomus, isn't like any empire. It may appeared strange but the model state is a Socialist Federal Monarchy. The idea is simple, our country is made after the ideals of Liberty an Equality, but we have acknowledged the fact that an assembly can't rule the country since professional politicians and even politicians in general aren't reliable... to easily corrupted. So the Emperor is the only one that possesse the three powers. All the emperors have been raised following our ideals and thus, have always been able to be fair and wise. Speaking of the ideals of Liberty and Equality. We are talking here abut Socialism in its primary form (developped by the French philosopher Pierre Leroux in the 1830's). The idea is simple : We shall make a balance between Liberty and Equality. In fact this make Social Welfare and Private Liberties the two first objectove of the country. At some point the empire became federal, that means there are locals assembly, which are near from the people since they have a small area to cover. Also they are harder to corrupt since the involved peopel aren't paid professional and that they are doing it for the people they know (locality things). This ensure that the Emperor, who has great power, has only general great power at the scale on the country. This provides equality for everyone. Liberty comes when people can express their ideas to the Emperor and his advisors ! Like we say in Libertdomus "A great Emperor is an Emperor criticized".
The country's population is pretty low because of a civil war generaly called "Kroner War" or "The Great Civi War" which involved every people in the country. Great casualties have been caused leading to almsot genocide...
Today to avoid this, the country is storngly untied behind the Emperor and ready to die for the cause. The army is pretty strong but not very offensive. Things may change in the future since the new emepror believes strongly that every capitalists countries shall fall under his domination to free the people from the claws of Capitalism.
