Plateau prefecture runs 7 days on renewable energy alone!

Southwest Arda Tuluva's Hravanrímen prefecture has just run for seven straight days entirely on renewable energy. From 6 November to midnight of 12 November, Hravanrímen used only wind, solar and hydro power stations. Vardamir Márecarinë, general manager of the prefectural grid company, said during the period, electricity use was 1.1 billion kilowatt hours, equivalent to 535,000 tons of coal.

Hydro power plants supplied 72.3% of the electricity, with new energy like wind and solar supplying the remainder for the province, which is home to 5.8 million people, said the vice general manager. Martotanë hydro-power station in Astarin county, is the largest on the lower stream of the Anduin River. On average, it generates 10.2 billion kilowatt hours a year. Staff with the power station started to check their facilities months before the test and worked overtime to ensure its smooth operation.

According to Saire Anátacarinë, general manager of Laicatinwë, a major electricity consumer in Hravanrímen that produces solar panels, said she felt no difference in the power supplies to the company. "There is no turbulence, it was a smooth process," Anátacarinë said.

Home to the source of one of Arda Tuluva's major rivers, Hravanrímen has strong hydro-power and solar supplies. By October this year, the power grid of Hravanrímen had a total installed capacity of 23.4 million kilowatts, about 82.8% of which came from hydro, solar and wind power.

"Clean energy is the ultimate way. We need to reduce reliance on fossil fuel, improve our energy structure, and reduce carbon emissions," said Lossemarë Artúricalamírë, Minister of Energy, said.

According to the prefectural 13th Sixth-Year Plan, Hravanrímen plans to expand its solar and wind capacity to 35 million kilowatt by 2020 and supply 110 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity every year to the southern and western parts of Arda Tuluva.

Arda Tuluva's enthusiasm for clean energy is pushing the global transition toward a low-carbon future with plans to invest 2.5 trillion tokken in renewable energy by 2020, creating more than 13 million jobs, according to the Central Statistical Office.

World's First Hydraulic-Driven Vertical Farm Produces 1 Ton of Vegetables Every Other Day

Year-round vegetables, minimal resources, climate-resistant—we've sung praises about vertical farms many times before. But Nindelos' Vilyalassë is something very special.

(Encaitar Hyaricánimarë at Vilyalassë)

Vilyalassë's four-story rotating greenhouse produces 1 ton of leafy greens every other day using a hydraulic-driven system that rotates and provides sunlight for the growing troughs. Designed by engineer and entrepreneur Encaitar Hyaricánimarë, Vilyalassë runs on a so-called Sky Urban Vertical Farming System and is also heralded as "the world’s first low-carbon hydraulic driven urban vertical farm."

What does that mean? Well, for such a modern and innovative idea, Vilyalassë actually uses rainwater and gravity. Using a water-pulley system, 38 growing troughs rotate around an A-shaped aluminum tower that's about 9 meters tall. The rotating troughs ensure even distribution of natural sunlight for each plant.

Not only that, the same water used to turn the troughs also nourishes the plants. According to the company, "With the plants irrigated and fertilized using a flooding method, there is no need for a sprinkler system thereby eliminating electricity wastage, as well as water wastage due to run-offs."

"Only 0.5 liters of water is required to rotate the 1.7 ton vertical structure," the company boasts. "The water is contained in a enclosed underground reservoir system and is recycled and reused." Additionally, only 40W electricity, or the equivalent of one light bulb, is needed to power a single 9 meter tower.

The farm consists of 1,000 vertical towers and produces 800 kilograms of cabbage, spinach, kale and other greens everyday for the bustling metropolis, according to the Nindelos Statistical Office. The farm has been producing vegetables commercially since 2015.

Vilyalassë's vegetables do cost slightly more than fare from traditional farms. "A 200g packet of Vilyalassë cabbage costs 1.25Ᵽ, while a 250g bag of Nórë Olvamilnar brand cabbage from a traditional farm costs 90 reli," The Statistical Office reported.

However, the publication also pointed out the freshness factor: it only takes four hours for Vilyalassë's produce to hit the shelves versus the three days to three weeks that imported vegetables require.

Vertical farming is ideal for densely packed cities such as Nindelos, which only produces about 7 percent of the vegetables it consumes. Its 20 and a half million inhabitants occupy a total land area of only 16,808 km². With this lack of nearby farmland, nearly 93 percent of Nindelos' "fresh" produce is imported. The Vilyalassë solution not only cuts the distance that food has to travel to get to plates, it helps ensure Nindelos' food security and helps the local economy.

This month, the Vilyalassë took home the Secretariat Award for Innovation and Sustainability in the "work" category. The prize, one of the most prestigious in Arda Tuluva's design world, recognizes innovations that help improve the world. Vilyalassë has also received government grant to expand its production.

The Sky Urban Vertical Farming System was given the award for representing "the next generation of sustainable urban agriculture" and for proving that "vertical farming can compete with, and produce better results than traditional farming," the Grand Secretariat said in a statement.

"Moreover," the Secretariat jury added, "it is a scalable design that can be implemented almost anywhere in the Empire, and has the capacity to ensure more food supply resilience across Arda Tuluva and the globe, as well as preserve the world’s natural resources."

(The Edict posted at the Artaquë)

The Edict came as a surprise to many people throughout the Empire. It is thought by political experts that the Presidium is considering major policy change, especially pertaining to the economy, environmental technologies, and agriculture; as 50 of the 90 prepared essays candidates must submit involve topics on economic policy.

The last Examination by Decree was held in 5656 (2012) were most of the essay questions contained topics on isolationism and international politics. It was then proceeded by the Empire’s official end to isolationism two years later with an official visit from East Moreland’s Monarch, the honorable King David III, who was bequeathed with the Order of the Double Dragon by Her Most Sublime and August Majesty. Earlier this year Arda Tuluva signed the historic treaty with the Divine Queendom of Lodja solidifying the Empire to alliance with our southern neighbor.

The Edict was posted at government centers throughout the Empire with the Secretariat Bureau of the Press issuing a statement:

"By Will of the Phoenix Throne, the Celestial Court has issued an Imperial Edict in search of persons with expertise in economics, agrarian knowledge, and green technologies to help lead the Empire into a brighter tomorrow."

Hundreds of potential candidates must now submit 25 prepared essays on economic topics, 25 prepared essays on historic economic topics, 15 prepared essays on agricultural practices - from historic content to modern innovations, and 25 prepared essays on topics of renewable energies. New Bullet Trains To Put Arda Tuluva Out Front On High-Speed Rail

A new 658km high-speed rail service will be up and running in Arda Tuluva on Isilya (Wednesday), linking Armenelos, home of Arda Tuluva’s famed terracotta warriors, to Vinyamar, Arda Tuluva’s largest port.

With a top speed up to 250km/h, the new line took five years to build, winds through one of Arda Tuluva’s most mountainous areas and will cut the rail journey between the two cities from about 11 hours to 3½ hours, according to the Ministry of Transportation.

The new line will not be the fastest in Arda Tuluva but it will form a key part of the country’s national high-speed railway system, linking the upstream areas of the Anduin and Sirion rivers via 127 bridges and 34 tunnels.

Ticket sales started on Valarya (Sunday), with a second-class ticket for the full journey costing 30Ᵽ ($33.72), the report said.

In about a decade, Arda Tuluva’s high-speed railway network went from zero to 22,000km at the end of last year, becoming the biggest of its kind in the world.

Arda Tuluva plans to have 30,000km of high-speed rail in operation by 2020, linking 80 per cent of its major cities.

Arda Tuluva’s extensive investments in railways have been a priority in its six-year development plans, and a major export under its “Belt and Road Initiative”.

Structuring of universe detected via quasars for first time

IMLADRIS, 56 Hrívë/ Jan. 15 (Imatyva) -- Researchers have recently managed to detect the structuring of the universe via quasars for the first time, according to the Imperial Astronomical Observations (EOVAT) of the Arda Tuluvan Academy of Sciences today.

The work was conducted by the international group of eBOSS, the biggest ongoing spectroscopic survey in the world, founded by scientists from Arda Tuluva, Nya Aland, East Moreland - among others - through CETO, which discovered redshift distortions signals when observing the spatial distribution of quasars that are 6.8 to 10.5 billion light years from earth.

Redshift distortion refers to a special three-dimensional cluster mode formed by stars under the effect of gravitational potential, and is considered one of the most important probes in researching gravitation on the cosmological level due to its direct correlation with gravitation.

The signals discovered this time were generated during the time when the universe was only one third or half the size of today, according to a report published by the eBOSS group on the finding.

The discovery is significant for future research in cutting-edge cosmological subjects such as dark energy and the essence of gravitation.

Launched in 2016, eBOSS has attracted research institutes from a number of countries, including the EOVAT.
