History
New Colovia was first sighted in 1629. And it wasn't long until the same explorer who's name was Serian Clover founded New Colovia as a penal colony in the year 1632, it was primarily made up of convicts and religous refugees, mostly protestants. The people and the natives assimilated well and gave rose to a creole culture where the language of the natives aswell as their music and food was preserved whilst the settlers contributed to their religion and architecture aswell as more advanced knowledge.
At the turn of the 19th century the vast majority of the population spoke the Colovian language aswell as having a diffrent type of religion than their so called mother country. There were even several notable times where they colonial administration had a hard time speaking with the people as they spoke completly different languages.

It wasn't long until a new figure, who opposed the colonial administration stepped forward. A young poltician who spoke of breaking away from their overlords and creating a new and completly independant state.
The people rallied behind him and many protests aswell as a few riots insued. The administration tried to crack down but this only created more zeal until there was a full blown civil war.
The people used guerilla warfare to combat the administration and slowly but surely drove them back to the capital. The city however was a fortress and the only reason the rebels managed to take the city was because of a mutiny of Admiral Aker who harboured secret sympathies with the rebels.

After a long siege from both land and sea the administration surrendered and on 9th of April, 1832 the country declared itself as the newly independant nation of "New Colovia"
The country remained relativly islotated and kept to itself, expanding slowly as it's population increased. Sadly however the country had a large reccession in 1902, which made the country elect the Erel'isher party. They made sweeping reforms, and managed to remove the republican democratic system.

During this time catholics were forcibly converted to protestantism or jailed in horrible prisons until they either converted or died. However at the death of the president his heir took up the idea of democracy and held the first free open election in the year 1932. Since that year the standard of living has increased and so had the economy.

Policies	Stance
Drugs Law	Softer drugs decrininalized in most states, harder drugs give jailtime and the same goes for distribution of any drug.
Same Sex Marriage	In the law of New Colovia a marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman. Thusly same sex marriage is not legally recognized. However the cermony in and of itself is permitted
Education	A parent has three choices in the education of their child. There is Public school, Private school and Homeschool. Public school is free for all citizens of New Colovia and has 3 Levels. Early School (Veldirkena,  litterally translated as "young school") it lasts from the ages of 7 to 11. Middle school (Avenkena), lasts from the ages of 11 to 16. Then the child is moved to a so called Achirkena or "trade school". There he/she picks a subject or trade they wish to study. This usually lasts between 2-3 years but sometimes it lasts 4 years.
Property Ownership	People over the age of 16 can own apartments with their parents signatures. However ownership of houses, land and more has a minimum age of 18.
Voting	Anyone who fulfills the requirements and has signed up can vote. The requirements are the following: Be 18 or older, Own property of some sort or pay rent for atleast 2 years, finish tradeschool, do not be unemployed, do not be a convicted fellon of a class 3 crime.
Prostitution	Prostitution is technically legal. Being a prostiture is completly allowed, however buying any sort of sexual service from a prostitute is heavily illegal and can give up to 2 years in jail.
Freedom of the Press	The Media is completly privately owned and is not controlled by the goverment
Freedom of Movement	Anyone who is in the country may travel freely, however on entry into the country a visa and passport is required.
Abortion	Abortion is illegal except if the mother's life is threatened or if the child is dead/will die very soon and needs to be removed
Health Care	Healthcare is largely privatized with  the goverment only owning clinics in a few parts of the country.
Gun Laws	All firearms except artillery or explosives are allowed if you are 20 or over.
Internet Neutrality	The Internet is owned by several private ISPs
Business Ownership	Anyone may start a company. Smaller companies generally pay less tax whilst larger companies pay more tax.
Marriage	There is no offical age of marriage in the country, however 16 or 18 is generally considered the limit and priests or judges will not approve marriage where a person is younger than one of those ages.
