The early modern age showed how divided the people of Hawatia were. The staunch right wing nationalists were against the defiant left wing socialists and communists. The nation fought a long civil war which ended in a Hawatian monarchy.

The Hawatian people are very polarized. The nation’s government has been shifting for the past fifty years. Various warlords and politicians rise and fall. The previous government, the Kingdom of Hawatia, collapsed after the attack on the Hawatian Palace. The current government, the People’s Republic of Hawatia, is currently besieged by all sides in political and military turmoil. Hawatians do not mind who is in charge — so long as they survive.
