1- To reply to question 1 of Markus: when we talked about it, Rob told us how Dave proceeded, and how it was a good practice to be kept, so I personally put it in my draft.

2- Also Hobbes is quite inactive, so unfortunately the function of supervising isn't working well.

3- For the guidance suggestion, I'd also make a post published on the forum so that even us, older RPers may easily consult it.

4- Over the recruitment, I think it better if it's just the RP manager(s) doing such, as to allow RP Moderators to fully focus on the RP, knowing that it's already a heavy task and there is much mentoring to do. But that's just a view which I don't particularly have any other argument in favour.

5- Is there a way to have in all transparence, the text updated that you maintain Achkaerin? Perhaps a GoogleDoc which may just view? So that when we post things here, we can “be on the same page”.

6- Also, much important question which haven't been addressed and so which I reiterate: “From the current draft, Chancellery appoints all position: question; who appoints the Chancellery, and how to question appointment?
Same question regarding the future eventual update of this text?”

Dave always had a system where if he had an idea about something with an NPC so for example the "Sandwich Club" he would first pick three random members of the forum not involved in the RP and ask them their opinion with a simple yes/no question. He went with the majority. It was my intent to carry that on as I think its a good idea. I'm not sure that perhaps having set people taking on that role is good as it takes away the flexibility of it being people not attached. So for example if we say one of the people is Markus and the question is about something between Samantra and Safraen then Markus may have a vested interest. I think putting something in about the RP Mod consulting before starting anything with an NPC is a good idea I just don't think we need to say who it is.

Might I suggest with exception on perhaps GC snd VGC  no ones names appear in the text.  If I have my way  and Dsve ever does return I'd love to hand him the RP Mod job back.

Đurađ was rather surprised by his guests choice of outfit, but wasn't perhaps as surprised as Jožica at flowers being handed over. Its seemed frivilous to her for an individual to take beauty from the natural world, kill it and think it beffiting a gift of greeting. She fought an urge to say something remembering what her husband had warned her about these foreigners. To Jožica the natural world was a gift from the God and as such mankind mere custodians of it, taking only what was absolutely needed for mankinds development and she for one could get by without slowly dying Vinitsian flowers. She had a reputation for being rather icy anyway and so the King wasn't surprised at her lack of real words other than what he could tell was a just polite enough "Thank you."

The King offered an arm to Sabrina and made their way into the central building. It was nothing more than a large hall with a series of seats set out in a large triangle. The point of each triangle was a single seat with a table in front which had a shield hanging from it showing the Sigel of the Order whose members would sit behind it. In the very centre was a large almost wooden box in which the Knight Commander would stand, a combination of Prime Minister and Speaker. Today a man dressed in a smart dark suit with thinning hair seemed focused on a book in front of him within the box that came up to waist height. During debates his chief advisors would sit alongside him and hand him documents that he required but today he was alone, he liked to work in there on speeches at times. "Knight Commander Luca Asanovich" the King called to get his attention.

The man stood bolt upright. "Your Majesty please accept my apology I lost track of time." He looked up at the large clock above the entrance door.

"Please welcome our guest from Vinitsia." Đurađ ordered and dutifully the man did so coming from within his enclosed box desk to greet her and her party. "Luca will be sitting in on our meeting which will be in the garden of The Drenovian Order. The King headed for a door on one side of the complex and knocked. It was opened by two men wearing guardsman outfits, "Each Order is permitted a small militia force." The King was saluted and the men stepped aside and allowed the King, Luca, Queen Terezija  and the guests in but as Queen Jožica approached the guards blocked her way. "Little silly traditions" Đurađ told Sabrina.

"I request permission to enter as a Legate of Krešimira on official duty with the King." She fished into a pouch on her belt and removed an arrow head made of flint. It had her initials on and she handed it to the guards. "Each of the Orders have some kind of symbol of their honour, for ours its a horn made from stag antlers." He pointed to where off the cross belt of the guardsmen a small polished horn hung. "If you enter the property of another order you're expected to hand it over as a sign you come in peace." he explained as the guards stepped aside and bowed to the Queen. They were now out in a garden, green and well kept. A circle of head high hedges was in the middle and in their was a stone table and seats. Đurađ waited for everyone to sit before taking his seat. "You're initial letter asked to discuss many things and I'm looking forward to those discussions. Before we start though it would be useful for me to understand what authority you exactly have here. My knowledge of Vinitsian politics is not what it should be. From our side whatever I say is thought to come with the same authority as if the God Druantia said it, is what we agree a done deal or is it likely to have to be approved back home?"

Factbooks and Maps / Re: The Holy Duchy of Vanora (Historical Nation)
« on: April 15, 2022, 08:30:10 PM »
NOTE:-

I'm leaving this here. We've had some mix up with the lore of Vanora

Unless anyone objects because it harms their nations lore etc Vanora will be edited so that the following is on the books

During the occupation by Achkaerin they crucified Jesus and tore down the Temple.

In the 17th Century the Convention of the Faith Treaty (1698) was signed. At the time the land was occupied by a huge Christian Army backed by the Papacy. As a result the nation found itself put under a system where its leader, a Duke, must always be Christian. Despite the attempts by neighbouring Kodima to support the Jews there they were simply out muscled and the best compromise was that the Kodimans were permitted two noble titles for the city of Jerusalem. Today the nation is a melting pot of Islam, Christianity and Judiasm all living in relative peace. The majority of the nation is Jewish however the leadership is still Christian.

If by Wednesday no one has objected this will take effect. Speak now or forever hold your piece.

I'm going to support 95% of what Altona said. The 5% where I differ is, and this is maybe me being bias, I think Dave genuinely wants what is best for the RP. I've seen him stand behind people with dumb ass ideas because they could be an interesting story. I've seen him also be the last to give up on someone, i.e Banana Dude. I don't think we need to worry like Dal said about replacing Dave. He'll do what's right by the region.

As for Beatrice I think her reactions show she loves this region. Her, CGJ and Dave are in my view the reason why we can come here and enjoy the hobby that we have. I have had my disputes with Beatrice in the past but I know that 9/10 she ends up seeing sense and doing what is best for the region. Vintage Beatrice IS the pinnacle of great RP because it was about entertaining stories. More of that and less quick reactions to people. We're a community that want whats best to attract and more importantly now retain players.

As many know I'm an RP nomad as I visit different regions with different RP periods, I always come back here because we're consistently one of the most active and one of the most interesting. We're also one of the nastiest discords.

To:- Doge Augusto Tyre,

The Union is always happy to extend a welcome to visitors. It seems that we have much that you would like to discuss and so we look forward to you arriving in Opatija at your convenience.

Best Wishes

King Đurađ IV
Grand Master of the Drenovian Order

The Assembly Hall complex was rather modern in its appearrance but its function was a rather ancient one. Drenovia saw seven religious orders that were central to government, to society and culture. Every aspect of life in Drenovia was in some way influenced by the Orders. Even those not a member of the Druantian Faith would find that most schools were run by the faith, even sports clubs were affiliated to one of the Orders even if they weren't exclusively membered by them. The complex gave each of the Orders a set of offices from where they could conduct their business and attend meetings with the King and his council. The space between the buildings was full of trees and flowers, the Druantian faith after all worshipped a God of the Forest so it was rather fitting.

The choice of venue was also important as it stopped the problem of determining which royal venue to use, picking one would tend to favour certain Orders and may make it difficult for certain members to attend. As it was a centre of unity for the nation it was a venue without problems. The King had invited all of the leaders of the different orders all of which had attended in their ceremonial garb, for most this consisted of some of form of tunic with emblems and patterns on, the stand out group though as always was The Order of Krešimira which was the only all female Order. They dressed as ancient huntresses in either long green skirts or brown trousers, hooded jackets and even a bow slung over their shoulders. Each Order had been permitted to provide four members to form a kind of honour guard as the guests arrived.

At the end of the honour guard King Đurađ IV was stood. He had been torn between the ceremonial blue and yellow tunic of his Order, his military uniform or a civilian suit and in the end a smart pinstripe had done. His first wife Queen Terezija stood to his left. She was a member of the Drenovian Order, the oldest and largest of the Orders. She like her husband wore a normal business suit yet to the King's right was Queen Jožica. She was tall blonde woman wearing the huntress garb of the Order of Krešimira, her bow was polished black wood tipped with gold. She was a Legate (equivalent of a Captain in the Army) in the Order and exceptionally proud of it and despite Terezija trying to convince her otherwise she wouldn't wear a business suit.

As the Vinitsian delegation arrived the King made his way down the corridor of the Order and extended a hand to the first of them to approach. "Welcome to Drenovia" he said with a large smile.

ZDS MAKE "WORLDS MOST EXPENSIVE" BULLET-PROOF VEST

Today Zenith Data Systems have unveiled what they say is the worlds most expensive bullet proof vest. Peter Simod, the CEO of the genetic engineering and data handling company showcased the fabric vest made from "Goatsilk" to members of the armed forces. The vest was demonstrated using a weapon firing slow moving .22 caliber rounds. The result was able to stop the round with only four layers. Standard Kevlar armor was used alongside as a base line test and stopped a round fired from the same gun with the same ammunition with 29 layers. The standard Kevlar body armour issued to Bakkermayan forces is comprised of 33 layers. Peter Simod was pleased with the results and said, "The new material is lighter per square meter than Kevlar and we've just shown it is much tougher. This material has a great potential, not just for bullet-proof vests and body armour but for a whole host of different tasks which require strength and lightness. We're excited about where the future can take us."

The material though is highly expensive, the cost of the vest has not been revealed but to go into production Mr.Simod said would cost "eight to ten times as much money per vest." Therefore it is unlikely that the military will be using the vests anytime soon. The main reason for the high cost at present is the unique way that the vest is made. "We've discovered that golden orb-weaving spider has a silk which is  tougher than Kevlar but has the elasticity and lightness of of nylon. When we began looking at large scale "spider farming" we discovered a problem, it took more than a million spiders and 70 human workers working for four years to make a single 11-foot by 4-foot piece of fabric. To make matters worse the spiders were cannibalistic This would have made it even less economically viable. What we discovered is that by DNA engineering we could make goats milk contain the protein responsible for the silk and thus by milking a goat we get about an ounce of the protein per milking session, yielding several thousand yards of a single spider-silk thread. The milk has to be separated and refined several times, then washed, freeze-dried, and turned into a powder. The powder can be spun into a fiber, or transformed into a coating or adhesive. We've now got five or six generations of these goats that have passed on the gene. It is our hope we can begin mass production in the next two years. Our aim isn't yet to equip the military with thousands of vests but the material can be used for things like suters in humans and for things such as replacing the wires used in jaw surgery." ZDS have said that they are also now looking at using things such as silkworms or even bacteria to make the material faster and with less economically expensive processes.

PILOTS HEAD FOR CASSIOPEIA

A total of twenty pilots from the Orders Air Service (OAS) are heading today to Cassiopeia in order to begin familiarising themselves with the operation of the Zarptica fighter. The pilots will be the first Drenovians to fly the aircraft outside of the test pilot scheme. They are also taking with them their F-30 Dhole fighters which it is expected will be used in a series of mock dogfights with the new aircraft. The fighter pilot contingent will also be joined by four B-6 Agama bombers which will join Cassiopeian Air Force assets on a variety of training exercises. It is also expected that they will feature in test operations with the Zarptica. The nations Minister of Defence has explained the nations intended acquisition for the Zarptica. "It is our ambition to initially obtain two squadrons of 18 fighters almost immediately. We will put these into the air force however members of the Orders Naval Service (ONS) will be seconded to these squadrons so in the future when we acquire our carrier they will also be familiar with the aircraft that will operate from it."

The Ministry of Defence are yet to place a final order for the carrier and some believe the nation would be better off acquiring a third amphibious warfare ship.

URZAL AVIATION STOCK INCREASE

Following news that tests of the SUN joint project known as Zarptica has been passing through successful milestones the share price of one of its main contributors has seen a 8.5% raise in its share prices. Urzul Aviation is responsible for constructing and installing the avionics package of the new fighter and also large parts of the airframe,  with the aircraft likely to have a high volume of sales in the SUN membership it is likely that a significant boost in annual profits is likely for Urzul. The company last year saw profits of around $65million and this is predicted to climb rather steeply over the next 12 months. Urzal is not the only Drenovian company to get a boost from the ongoing success of the project.

Egruk have made batteries used in aircraft and military equipment for the last thirty years and have won the contract to supply the power packs to be used on the Zarptica. The company have also diversified over the last two years into making batteries for electric cars and last year made a profit of around $40million. The project is likely to boost this significantly and they saw shares climb around 5%. Experts suggest that the increase in share price is likely to continue as each successful test comes in.

While I think this is a good decision I however would like to suggest that if possible this go hand in hand with a Constitution Amendment to read as follows.

Remove "Inducting, by means of Writ, members of the region into the Regional Nobility;" in Article 2e.

This to be replaced with a section on Nobility saying.

1. The Order shall maintain a series of titles of nobility. These titles shall be used to reward positive contributions to the region.

2. The Grand Chancellor may induct into the nobility any user they wish using a writ of nobility.

3. A member of the nobility is said to have forfitted their title if they are inactive, without a Leave of Abscence notification, for a period longer than 180 days.

4. The Grand Chancellor may suspend someone from the nobility with the approval of at least two members of the nobility.

5. The Grand Chancellor may strip someone of their title of nobility with the approval of the majority of the nobility.

It is my belief that the Grand Chancellor has acted outside the rules set out by the Constitution.

The Constitution clearly states in 2e

(2) The Grand Chancellor shall be responsible for: Inducting, by means of Writ, members of the region into the Regional Nobility;

However currently Nova is suspended from his title of nobility which I believe is outside he power of the Grand Chancellor as no provision exists in the Constitution for removal of titles of nobility.  Having brought this to the attention of the Grand Chancellor I was told that she was "not without means"

Spoiler: Screen grab • show

Having asked several times for a reference from the orders constitution or any other rule that gives her the authority to suspend his title of nobility I have not been provided with one.

As an aside sadly this also will apply to Gadshack's removal but frankly thats one I would 200% support.

Fabijan Bogdanović was a Commander Knight in the The Drenovian Order, it was considered the most auspicious of the various religious orders as it was from here that the nation drew its name. Fabijan therefore expected some high posting within government and wasn't disappointed when he ended up in Cassiopeia, he had enjoyed the climate, the food was nice and above all else the job hadn't been too taxing until now. He was unsure exactly what the Lijiang delegation would want, people were still unsure whether it was full membership or some trade deal but he suspected the King would prefer to see SUN grow and therefore that was what he placed his mind on trying to ensure as the outcome. He sipped on a cold beer while he waited for the guest of honour to arrive.

It had been a good while since Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles had visited the Holy Land. Despite the visit taking place outside Northfort the Grand Duke had arrived the night before and spent time praying at the Temple of Helus and then enjoying a bite to eat in one of Northfort's upmarket eateries. It had been a good chance for him to catch up with some friends within the East Moreland government and colleagues from back home currently basing themselves in East Moreland. The trip in the morning therefore was one he could enjoy as he sailed down the River Ost without much to worry about. He knew the King had been meeting with Altona and Eskdale, probably laying foundations for the meeting, but there were a few matters that would be delicate he believed during the talks.

Having docked at Campford the Grand Duke was slightly taken aback by the lack of grandeur for the occasion but having greeted Therz and Anginer he bowed respectefully to King David. "Your Majesty a pleasure to meet you again. I trust the family are well?" he enquired before waiting for everyone else.

To:- His Imperial Majesty Dragon-Emperor Tielin II

It is my understanding that following a pause in work to allow for an archaeological excavation to take place at the site of your future nuclear power plant at Wenchangzhen 1 work will recommence shortly. During your talks with several nations at the opening of a cultural museum you agreed to an inspection by a representative from MAEA so long as they came from Nya Aland. With this in mind we would like to request that our organisations President, Dr.Ulf Gren, and his team be permitted to visit and inspect. While I understand that the agreement was for Alanders to carry out the inspection I would very much like to accompany him. As the organisations Chief of Staff I am responsible for much of the day to day administration and as such I believe I would be able to help the President manage his visit effectively so as to minimise disruption. I understand you are well within your rights to refuse me this request but I am hopeful of finding you amenable.

Urzal Aviation have today confirmed that the airframe of the Zarptica project has been signed off as ready for combining with other parts of the project. A scaled remote controlled version of the aircraft has shown "Promise" according to one of the companies spokesman. The aircraft will now await input from  the three partner nations before a full scale version is constructed and flight tests take place.

82
The Drenovian representative addressed the assembly.

"We think the arrangement is a good one in theory. We have seen Lijiang support the values of this organisation with their stance on their nuclear programme in the face of MAEA attempts at marginalising smaller nations. I think therefore the question must be asked that rather than approving this agreement do we make an effort to persuade Lijiang to join our family so to speak? The Cassiopeians have meet with the Dragon-Emperor so perhaps they could assess whether they think such an overture would be accepted. "

The Book of Krešimira

Krešimira was the daughter of a Lead Swordsman   with The Order of Oak in the late 15th Century and was named for the lover of the God Druantia, mother of the demi-God Florijan. With the Drenovians having recovered their mainland home just a 100 years earlier they had discovered many of their sacred forests destroyed, burnt to the ground and turned into farmland or in some cases even chopped down and turned into boats. Krešimira was just 12 years old when she recieved her first inspiration from the God Druantia. She was out one day gathering mushrooms with her loyal dog Miro when she walked into a glade where the God was sat in contemplation of the world. At first mistaking the God for a wild animal she readied her small bow. Without looking up from his peaceful contemplation Druantia spoke without sound. "Lovely girl your bow is not needed here." and with that the string of her bow disappeared.

Miro began to bark and stood between the girl and the God but with a wave of his hand Druantia calmed the hound who lay down before him having recognised the God as the creator of all things. Druantia stood from his contemplations and crossed to pet the now subdued dog who seemed elated at the divine attention. Krešimira knelt her head bowed. "Forgive me God of Creation. I thought you a wild thing."

Druantia sat crossed legged before the young girl who trembled with fear of retribution from the God but she should have had no fear. With a gentle hand Druantia raised the girls head. "There is no such thing as wild things. All of creation is how I intend it to be. What you perceive as wild is just your lack of knowledge. As my beautiful forest lessens all creatures fear. Those who love the forest and its ways shall not have anything to fear from my creations."

Until the darkness of night began to fall the young girl had questions for the God. He sat and patiently answered them all content to sit in his forest and gentle stroke Miro who dozed on his lap. "You must return home." The God instructed and the girl dutifully did so. Upon arriving home she told the tale to her father who at first did not believe her but the more the young girl spoke the more a knowledge of the God far beyond that she had ever demonstrated spilled forth. Her father was so shocked her confided in the leader of his Order and soon his daughter was taken to speak with the Commander of the Household for the Order of Oak he too was amazed at her deep knowledge far beyond her age. The Order of Oak returned to the spot where she had questioned the God in hopes of finding him but he was nowhere to be seen.

Two years later Krešimira was gathering firewood and as the God had told her "For everything you take from me you must give something to me." and after she picked up the last stick into her wicker basket she knelt and took from a pouch on her belt a small acorn and planted it in an open space among the woods. "My God and maker. Thank you for the wood I take to keep us warm. I give to you this acorn so it may grow into a mighty tree." The sound of footsteps behind made her turn with caution and there in his splendor stood the God. Krešimira knelt and bowed before him.

"For everything you take from me you must give something to me." The God said without making a sound. "I told you for everything you take. The God looked at the wicker basket, "And I see many things but only one acorn" The God saw the young girl begin reaching towards her belt pouch. Frantically she counted and seemed disappointed having only ten acorns yet a great many sticks. The girl was disappointed ten sticks would not be sufficient for the night ahead.

"But My God if for each berry, each twig or each fruit we take we give something we shall never be free to live a life." She gasped realising she had been arguing with the God who now just laughed.

"As you are my favourite for you are pretty, loyal and remind me of my own beloved Krešimira I shall relent. For each kind of thing you take then you must return something to me." Krešimira nodded that she would and having spent more time with the God in the woods she returned home and placed her wicker basket of firewood next to the fire as she spoke to her father of her meeting. Through the dark and cold night it seemed no matter how much wood they put on the fire the basket never emptied and even months later the basket was still filled to the brim. Never again did the girl have to pick firewood from the forest.

At the age of 16 Krešimira was destined to marry a young Knight from her fathers Order. As was expected the bride to be made her way into the woods to gather flowers to weave into her hair and as she left her offering of seeds the soundless voice of the God came to her. My dear Krešimira I have a gift for you for your wedding The girl as always knelt and lowered her head as a bow was placed at her feet. "The bow must be used only to provide food for your family. It shall never miss and will always be true. Krešimira thanked the God for the gift and much to her surprise it took no strength to draw back the string. Six months later the bow proved its worth. With a cold snow covering the land it was hard to find game and the plants of the woods were dying. Armed with her bow she and her husband headed out to find food. Sighting a deer they whispered a prayer and Krešimira's husband tried to use her bow despite being a man of considerable strength he could not even move the bow however handing it to his wife she did so with no strain. The arrow flew from the string and killed the deer ensuring the family would have food. Krešimira planted an oak in the blood of the deer and prayed with thanks to the God. Within seconds a mighty oak sprang forth from the ground.

For thirty years Krešimira lived and hunted in the woods, she raised four fine children, three boys who followed their father into the Order of Oak and a girl called Lana who was so full of grace she became a forth wife of a King of Drenovia. Soon after he daughters marriage however her husband died and now being alone in the woods she felt lonely. It was then that the final meeting with her God happened. "Krešimira you are never alone in these woods. Every creature knows you and as I do shall love you. Each step you take through our glades flowers shall spring from, each rock you touch shall sprout moss and at your desire trees shall grow. You have work" Picking up her bow and with her new hunting pup in tow she ventured out into the woods planting seeds and saplings, tending to flowers and marvelling at the beauty. For ten years she was missing but as her daughter became ill she appeared, she had not aged nor had her pup. She brought with her herbs and flowers and dismissing the medics of various Orders she tended to her daughter herself. As if a miracle the Queen recovered but there was a price. The God had taught her all she needed to know but her grand-daughter, also named Krešimira, must wander with her grand-mother for ten years. The two Krešimira's headed into the woodland the next day and were never again. On the 11th year since their disappearance an expedition was sent to search for them.

Krešimira's grandson, Prince Oran was part of this expedition and in 1522 he reached where the Royal Forest should have ended according to all their maps and charts. For a further week he rode through woods of fresh growth and wonderous beauty until discovering a small shack in the woods. Two women dressed in huntress attire were busy at work. "Grandmother....sister" he called and the two looked up with smiles. "For the last year we have searched for you because you did not come home."

"I am home" both women said in unison. "Our work is here, our life is here. We must grow back these woods and bring life. This is work only a woman can do. The God has given us this mission." They both refused to leave and after a few days Prince Oran returned home. He gathered together a group of women who had heard the tale and wished to help the two Krešimira's and he lead them back to the spot only to discover the woodland home had gone and in its place a stone on which in inscription was written.

"The God Druantia has in his wisdom given women the ability to bring about life. Three Krešimira's have dedicated themselves to my work. The first Krešimira was my heart. The second Krešimira was my joy and the third Krešimira my truimph. Remember well these women's ways and follow in their steps." Having seen the inscription Prince Oran ordered the women to build a Forest Temple over it and upon returning home persuaded his father to give permission for the inscription's instruction to be followed. Thus was the Order of Krešimira begun with 20 women living and working in the Sacred Woods.

INVITATION TO QUINCENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

The year 2022 marks the quincentennial anniversary of the foundation of Order of Krešimira. In Drenovia the various Holy Order dedicated to the service of the God Druantia are central to our life, culture and traditions and the Order of Krešimira is the only one which permits women to be a member, in fact only women may join this Order.

The celebrations on the 3rd of January will be a nationwide celebration focused on commemorating the service to the nation and faith by members of this Order. This shall include a huge parade, a medal giving ceremony and for members of that order a significant conference on reforestation. As part of the celebration a musical concert will take place and also a orienteering event. For these two social occasions we invite female only acts from across Mundus to perform as well as inviting teams from nations militaries to enter the orienteering (again must be all women). For our reforestation conference we welcome nations wishing to send delegates.

We hope you will join our Order in celebration

"DISRESPECT IS DANGEROUS" WARNS QUEEN

Following criticism of this years Christmas Tree selection in Opatija by Bishop Ivan Jurić the Venitsian Cardinale Francesco of the Rambacca Family has further stoked the situation after his nations media called the gift "rotten". As a result the Cardinal has sent a new tree to the city along with decorations and food. This act has prompted Her Majesty Queen Jožica of the Glades, Legate of the Order of Krešimira, to comment on the situation. "What the Cardinal fails to see is that the very act of our King, our way of life tells us that we must do all we can to restore the forests and only then can humanity enjoy true peace. Imagine then what it means to a nation of faith like ours to take an axe and cut down a tree. Since the dawn of time we have tried to take from the forests only what we need for survival and always, always give something back to the Forest in return. So to physically destroy a tree of any type or size to simply give away to a foreign faith is an astonishing gesture. Add to that the fact that in our history for some time our people were consigned to the South West islands as Christian forces of the Vatican subjigated our ancestors, burnt them for refusing to accept the faith and put countless sacred glades to the torch. This makes the fact that today we try and live in peace with our Christian cousins and respect their festival even more admirable in my eyes. The delicate mistrust and hatred some in our nation feel even 600 years later can at times be fragile and the way our gesture has been shown disrespect is dangerous. We wish the Christians of Drenovia a Happy Christmas."

The Queen is highly active in her orders activities and currently is running a campaign to plant 10,000,000 trees in the nation during the next year. The Order of Krešimira is celebrating its 500 year anniversary soon having been founded on the 3rd January 1522. It has already been confirmed that as part of the celebrations the Queen will gain promotion within that Order to Quaster. The King has declared that all members of that Order are to be awarded a special commemorative medal if they have served more than two years within its ranks. That currently means some 47,000 people will be presented with what is being called the Medal of the Glades over the next 12 months or so.

CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY "INSULTED" BY ROYAL GIFT

In a tradition that dates back over 100 years the King of the nation has selected from the sacred forest of Druantia a tree to be a gift to the nations small Christian community as they celebrate Christmas. This year however one leading Bishop in the nation has sparked controversy by saying that the tree chosen is not worthy. The King selected a tree from the forest and cut it down himself before having it sent to the largest Christian community in the nation which is in the city of Opatija. It is estimated some 20,000 Christians live in the city, around 1/6th of the nations entire Christian population. The city is also the site of the nations largest Church which is dedicated to Chapel of St.Silvan. The King arrived with the tree at around 2pm and was greeted by the Churches custodian Father Ratko Pavletić. The King was presented with the traditional welcome glass of Brandy and said, "Once more we approach Christmas. A time when we who follow Druantia give part of our bounty to our Christian neighbours so that they may enjoy their celebration. While we are separated by faith we are joined by nationality. Centuries ago this would have been an impossible gesture as each of our communities had swords at the other's throats, today we live in peace and long may that continue." The King then left to return to the forest where he and his family have started a new tradition where once the annual Christmas gift has been cut the family plant new trees. The King as usual planted ten while his wives and children planted five each.

It was only once the tree had been fully erected that the Bishop of Opatija commented on the tree. Bishop Ivan Jurić visited the now in place tree and said. "The Christmas tree is visible symbol of our presence both in this country and of our faith's traditions. Normally we have been respected by the King bringing us a majestic tree however today we see the runt of the litter. It is well known that King Đurađ is a religious zealot and this act of riddicule is an insult to our celebration, our faith and our community."

The Palace responded to the criticism saying, "The fact that the King has today publically engaged with the Christian community in a display of true friendship could be considered a miracle if we consider our nations history. A series of religiously motivated wars saw millions of Drenovian's killed for not being Christian and then as our Order's restored our rightful land thousands of Christians died under the concept of revenge. This backstory of interfaith conflict in our nation would normally have lead to the exclusion of the Christian faith, or long standing sense of Christian hatred. His Majesty has today demonstrated his support of and fondness for the Christian community of Drenovia. I would have thought the Bishop would have seen that the gesture of taking from our sacred woodland to give to a foreign faith for what it truly is."

The annual Opatija Christmas Carol Concert is scheduled to take place this weekend with around 20,000 people expected to attend.

Following a few moments to allow people to change location it was the turn of Zenith Data Systems to give their presentation.

The presentation was given by Peter Simod who was dressed in smart trousers and a shirt with rolled up sleeves.

"ZDS likes to think of ourselves as the creator of future super-heroes. We are creating the first version of Iron-Man and throwing in  a healthy mix of superpowers. All of this is being done not through the dreams of comic books but in labs, workshops and surgeries of Bakkermaya. It is our dream to be able to enhance our abilities, make our lives simpler and llow humans to reach a higher potential. We have been doing that in three ways."

"The first is North Sense." Simod held up his left arm and took his mobile into his right hand. "OK Phone" he said confidently eliciting a beep from his mobile. "Find me the quickest route to the bathroom." There was a two or three second pause before the phone spoke. "Route Planned" Simods left arm had changed, a fient red arrow had appeared on his skin and it pointed towards the bathrooms. "North-sense can be bluetooth connected to any digital devices GPS and navigation system. Rather than then needing your phone to direct you around the city or route you simply follow the arrow." As to demonstrate Simod walked around the stage and the arrow moved keeping a constant pointer to the bathrooms. "The user, in this case me, has a small device implanted under the skin charged by induction. In time we hope upgrades can be made to allow a whole manner of different read outs can be implemented. The process is relatively easy under local anaesthetic. Just as Adam here is having." On the stage a young man was laying down on a medical table with a camera overhead showing a member of ZDS team implanting the device in the forearm. "We have so far used this with the military of Bakkermaya in exercises with East Moreland and while it was useful it is still in need of refining."

Suddenly a man brought a firearm on stage and handed it Peter. He pointed it straight into the air and pulled the trigger, it went "BANG!" the blank loaded into it exploding. "Our second use of the North-Sense device is a form of gun safety measure. My one contains a sensor which is paired to a similar one on the firearm. When the two sensors come into close promiximty it unlocks the weapon allowing it to fire. In this case while the safety system is stand alone I have had mine attached to the North-Sense board in my arm." Peter handed the gun to a ZDS worker on the stage who fired the same gun in the air but no BANG! nothing happened. "This was a piece of technology that we hoped would make firearm ownership safer and prevent foreign militaries utilising Bakkermayan weapons in combat. This was trialled while on exercise with the East Moreland forces and we soon realised its military uses were rather limited as simply put the Morelanders left weapons and stole the ammo. The technology though could be useful for a civilian market in nations were gun ownership is permitted and would prevent children or intruders using a discovered weapon in the home."

"This brings us onto our final item. We have taken the idea of substances that allow fish in the depths to see and by coating the eye with Chlorin e6, insulin, and saline to a person's eye, the retina will absorb it and increase vision in low light. We have found that for up to two hours it will give the ability to see across a distance of over 50 metres in total darkness for several hours. In tests it gave an advantage over night vision goggles which are expensive, bulky, and require electrical power to operate. NVGs also heavily restrict the wearer’s field of view, making it similar to viewing the world through a pair of toilet paper tubes. That can create a false perspective of wearer’s surroundings, which in wartime could prove dangerous. This retains the eyes natural advantage. Today however we are pleased to announce that we are taking the next step. Six months ago we injected nanoparticles that converted infrared light into visible light into the eyes of mice. Those mice were then placed in a maze along with mice who didn't receive the injections, and were able to find their way out of the maze. The nanoparticles bound to the photoreceptors of the mice's eyes and provided night vision for up to 10 weeks without any ill effects. It is our belief that within the next few months we will carry out the first human trials, effectively giving us the ability to see in the darkest of nights."

"Thank you for allowing us to showcase our three key products and giving you a glimpse into how we will glimpse the future.....especially at night."

Name of Company/Representing Entity:Zenith Data Systems (ZDS)
Nation of Origin: Bakkermaya
Stall Functions and Sizes Requested (May request up to 5 stalls): Medium Tech
Presentation Length:30mins
Short Description of all stalls being hosted:

For the last few years ZDS have been involved in various projects of "Bio-Hacking" combining technology with the human body. During the event we'd like to update the world on some of our projects.

Additionally if Revana laws permit we'd like to offer people the chance to have "North Sense" installed. This is a dermally implanted GPS system that shines a fient red light through skin and directs the operator. It can be combined with any bluetooth device. It has also been under testing with the Bakkermayan military and shown some promising results.

We would focus on three projects, the "North Sense", a dermally planted safety device for firearms which would essentially code the weapon to a single operator and a series of injections that improve night vision.

It would take at least 48 hours for the Horseman to get their equipment for this operation into position to even begin this operation that the Morelanders had described. "There are two issues I see. The first is a question for our Heyran friends. That is how quickly you need this doing. We would take at least 48 hours to get into a position to begin. If time is of the essence then we may be out of the equation. The second issue is where we can get aircraft into. If we're heading into East Moreland then we've a drive across, if its somewhere in Heyra then we need to factor that in. The question therefore comes down to time. How critical is it?"

Božo Adamić had thought a positing to Aosta would have been relatively cozy. Nothing too disasterous happened there, the nation was stable and there was the potential down the line for some close Drenovia and Aosta co-operation. It was therefore a rather surprising phone call to be summouned by the royals, it was even more of a shock that instead of being called to the Palace he was being asked to come to the Carbabinieri barracks. Once Božo had turned on the news though he suspected that the barracks may be more secure than the Palace but that raised another question, why on earth would they be calling him to a meeting at such a time? He contacted the foreign office back home but little could be told to him other than what he'd been able to gleam from the news. Regardless he called up his official car and made his way to the barracks and presented his credentials.
