"MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS"

Throught the People's Republic today, a national celebration was held in the annual celebration of May Day.

May Day, also known as International Worker's Day, has been celebrated annually in the FOA since 1975.
This year saw almost the entire population of the FOA "go on strike" a traditional ceremonial act celebrating the right to strike and unionize against all, even the state, a right not yet fully supported by the world.

Members of the Folkets Forsamling, as well as members of the military and large amounts of the capital's population met in the Kongens Firkant, outside the offices of state.
There, amid the rolling banners with the faces of Comrades Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Marcuss, the crowd joined hands and sang the anthem of not only their home, but the anthem of worker's world wide.

In other local areas, citizens sang their own songs as well as the International, with favourites including Solidarity Forever, the song of the WUF as well as the song growing in popularity, Do You Hear the People Sing, from the play Les Miserables.
Many plays were also preformed, from the less serious ones organised in the local hall to the stages of the capital, with favourites including An Inspector Calls, the aforementioned Les Miserables and the classic Waiting for Lefty.

Comrade Folkets Præsident Rolf Høgh, made his speech on the current situation of the Mundus, and the position of the worker within it.
He highlighted that despite the world's average wealth growing higher and higher each year, the average member of the proletariat saw almost no change from what his wages had looked like decades ago. Over points included the need to unite with working members of the Mundus to help eliminate the evils of capitalism, as well as the undisguised tyranny that the nation of Tamora inflicted voluntarily upon its people. Whilst capitalism gives the illusion of choice (after all, the choice between working and starving is no choice at all), slavery doesn't even have the kindest of that illusion.

Commenting on the today's celebrations, Comrade Høgh had this to say:
"Overall, I think I can safely say that today's May Day Celebrations are a resounding success. With the scourge of capitalism still present in the Mundus, it is good for everyone to be able to celebrate what we do have. I hope that other nations around the world have found it in their hearts to allow people a paid vacation to celebrate the worker. But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if they found ways to sell the soul of even this celebration."

MARX DAY

Yesterday, worker's through out the world celebrated a second major socialist holiday, as Karl Marx's birthday arrived.

Comrade Marx's birthday has been a day of celebration for worker's over the world since the worker's struggle against capitalism was summarised by him in his Communist Manifesto.

Although Comrade Marx's birthday is not a national holiday in the People's Republic, his birthday is usually celebrated in the homes of all those his works have touched, with the international proletariat celebrating with their families in the comfort of their homes. Of course, his great task is not yet finished, with his writings being further expanded on by the other great minds of communism, and will eventually finish in the final crescendo of the doom of the bourgeoisie.

ELECTIONS TO BE HELD IN KAITAINE REBEL STATE

Today, the Theocracy of Kaitaine (a rebel state that broke off violently from the formal and legitimate government of Kaitaine) has declared it will be holding elections to create a consitution and provisional government.

Despite, on the surface, this being a positive move for a rebel state hell bent on following the spiritualist and convinent words of their gods, is likely a move to simply gain an air of legitimacy. The church that currently holds the power is unlikely to give it up, less the people they hold sway over see through the lies that lead to them attacking and betraying their own nation and people.

Experts reckon, that despite the claim that elections will be democratic, the results will be manipulated by the sisterhood at will. Dr V. Putin, reckons they may even go as far as to completely disregard all critical positions, creating an image that the rebels have the people's undying loyalty, which will likely be used as propoganda. He has coined this subversion of democracy "Putin Democracy", not exactly humble but an easy way to refer to what we are likely to see unfold.

Of course, breaking with the legitimate state to start your own cult out in a desert would give the implication that you would stoop to levels low enough to ensure the continuation of your power, through espionage if necessary.

However, pre-emptive jumping of the gun is something we wish to avoid, so we will hold our suspicions till the election results are announced.
