About the IRHL
The inaugural season of the IRHL hosts 8 teams from across the Irish Republic in a 14 game season. Standings are determined with wins being worth 2 pts, overtime losses worth 1 pt, and losses worth 0 pts. The top 4 teams move to the playoffs to decide the winner of the Ash Cup, the leagues highest award, and both the Revenant and Capitol cups for the winners of the semifinals. Finals and semifinals are decided in three game series.

NEW DUBLIN PHOENIXES VS ARKLOW AEGIS
First Period
NDP take the lead quick in their home opener with Rob McInnerney putting one past Quinn Baker of AGS only 3:47 into the period.
Doug Glatt of AGS is assessed 2 minute penalty for slashing 12:26 into the period but the penalty killers come out strong.
The backstops close out the period with no more goals against, shots 12 NDP 8 AGS
Second Period
Steve Gratiot of NDP and Doug Glatt of AGS are given game misconducts for fighting, Doug walking away clean while Steve went to the lockeroom with a rather disfigured nose at 7:34 into the second
AGS defense stepped up in this period limiting NDP to only 9 shots vs AGS 10
Shot totals NDP 21 AGS 18, score remains 1-0 NDP
Third Period
Ken Rolland tallies a second goal for NDP with an assist from McInnerney to record the first multipoint game of the season among all players 14:12 into the third.
The period closes out with NDP recording a shutout victory in their home opener over AGS 2-0 shots tallying at NDP 32 AGS 27

CONWAY COMETS VS DERRY ACES
First Period
Liam Ó Bríain put the first one in for CMT in a beautiful tic tac toe play from Colman Quinn and Jarlath Mullen 8:22 into the first.
DER strikes right back on a breakaway chance by Maurice Kiley at 9:17 unassisted.
Shots tally at 9 CMT 7 DER
Second Period
Liam Ó Bríain gets the assist to Jarlath Mullen making the dangerous duo appear as the most productive on the ice for CMT 12:47 into the second.
Niall Mac Innes gets called for a trip putting CMT on a two minute powerplay at 18:33.
Kilian Canavan capitalizes on the powerplay burying the third goal for CMT at 19:04.
Shots tally at 23 CMT 15 DER
Third Period
Many chances but no action in a relatively quiet third period.
Final score 3-1 CMT

JOHNSTON JACKALS vs ATHLONE ARMADA
First Period
Paddy Considine opens the scoring early on the first shift for ATH assisted by Séamus Keogh and Sean Maguire at 0:24 into the first.
A line change and a score change for ATH with Rory Mahoney racking up an even larger lead with some help from Barra Farrell at 0:58 into the first.
Right when it seems the JCK defense has found its footing another one sneaks in on a beauty move by Eamon McEvoy to give ATH a 3-0 lead 17:34 into the first.
JCK changes goalies to Neal Gallagher after Ronan Murphy let in 3 goals on 6 shots.
The period closes up with shot tallies ATH 7 JCK 5
Second Period
JCK begins to regain their footing with a cross-crease goal by Joe Malone assisted by Francis Shanahan and Lochlan McCarthy 7:27 into the second.
Rory McGuinness of JCK get riled up and finds a dance partner in Sean Maguire, the two of them head to the lockeroom with ATH walking away with more momentum than before as a result of Maguire's win in the fight at 15:42 into the second.
ATH strikes again late in the second as Paddy Considine scores his second of the night with some help from Fintan O'Sullivan at 19:12 into the second.
Shots tally at ATH 18 JCK 12
Third Period
JCK unable to find the back of the net but do find the back of the box as Peter Dougal takes a two minute rest for unsportsmanlike conduct at 17:56 into the third.
Paddy Considine takes advantage of this to get ATH the fifth goal of the night and a hat trick for himself with hep from O'Sullivan and Keogh at 19:12 into the third.
Final score is 5-1 ATH with the shot tally at ATH 31 JCK 21

CORK REVERB VS WESTPORT WINDCATCHERS
First Period
Both sides receive offsetting roughing calls on the parts of CRK Kian Connolly and WND Aengus McShane at 9:13 into the first.
Aside from some pushing and shoving the period closes scoreless with shots tallied at CRK 7 WND 9.
Second Period
Conan Lynch puts WND in the lead early in the period with a rocket from the point at 2:43 into the second. Assisted by Cillín Kavanah and Sean Kiley.
Kian Connolly takes a trip to the box again with a tripping minor 7:12 into the second.
Paddy McGlinchy puts one in on the breakaway for WND 8:42 into the second.
CRK takes one back with some pretty passing by Kieran O'Dowd and Sean Gallagher to give Ronan Brannigan the goal at 12:55 into the second.
Shots tally CRK 12 WND 16 with the score favoring WND 2-1
Third Period
It takes a minute but CRK ties the game back up with only 2:32 left to play on a piss-poor turnover to Frankie McShane.
They couldn't close it in regulation so the game moves to overtime shots tallying CRK 22 WND 20 in a tie game.
OVERTIME
CRK with the comeback victory on McShane's second goal of the night, assisted by Ossian McCarthy only 1:24 into OT.
Shots tally CRK 24 WND 20 in a 3-2 CRK victory.

First Period
The Athlone Production Line strikes 5:21 into the first with Fintan O'Sullivan scoring on a stretch pass from Paddy Considine.
AGS responds quickly with Brendan Kiley dancing through the ATH defense and putting one between the legs of Brian O'Ryan 7:49 into the first.
A slash assessed to George Guinness of AGS puts ATH on a 2 minute power play 16:12 into the first.
ATH capitalizes with some tic tac toe having O'Sullivan and Séamus Keogh get Paddy Considine his first of the game 16:58 into the first.
The period closes out ATH leading 2-1 with shots tallying ATH 12 AGS 9
Second Period
Eamon McEvoy takes a stretch pass from Sean O'Connell to put ATH into a 3-1 lead 6:34 into the second.
