"This sounds like exactly the kind of thing we would be interested in."  Đurađ smiled. "I'd be happy to make such an arrangement, may it be the first of many between us." He said. "Perhaps, if it is possible once we have this matter confirmed I can come and visit the Emperor and we can extend what I hope will become mutual co-operation to other fields."

OOC Socialisation / Ben Pounamu
« on: January 18, 2024, 10:42:35 PM »
I'm sorry to bring sad news to the region. I got news yesterday evening that Ben Pounamu (BenOfTheIwi) has passed away. He's suffered with heart complications since catching Covid a few years back and sadly was taken into hospital on Monday in Auckland, NZ. I was privileged to know Ben in RL as were many of the Nottingham contingent. I know since Covid he had become less active here due to his ill health and many of the newer members will not really know him but he helped create some interesting memories here including getting a head of state to strip naked. Ben will be missed.

"All of that sounds in order." Đurađ replied. "Now you say you're interested and I have zero issues with your conditions. The people we are talking about are the scum of Mundus and I have no concerns that our justice system will have been thorough enough to ensure all the t's have been crossed and i's dotted. Therefore you are of course more than welcome to review the cases before accepting the prisoners." The King waited a moment, "Now assuming that the Emperor goes for this I would expect something in return, any suggestions?"

Đurađ had determined that the meeting with the ambassador would take place in the Palace's small library, a place where the King was seldom seen. It was a room full of brightly spined books and warm wooden panels. He had the staff light a nice warming fire and provide slices of rustic bread and cheese along with two long toasting forks. Đurađ had been informed that the ambassador had arrived and made his way from his suite to the library arriving just before his staff had guided the Ambassador to the venue. "Mr.Montagne I am sure you'll do what you can. What I have called you here for is rather unique, its certainly something I'd have never suspected I would be doing but I like surprises. Now can I offer you a fork?" He twirled a silver coloured toasting fork towards the ambassador as he stabbed his own into a thickly sliced piece of bread. He took a seat and as the ambassador took the other began toasting his bread as he casually continued the conversation. "I have sought advice from the various religious orders here and while not all agreed I have the support of the majority to perhaps help you're own faith. You see I have read about your winter solstice festival and its need for blood. I am currently housing 81 individuals in prisons here awaiting the death penalty. They are rapists and murderers.....I think we have two for treason too. I believe that we might find an arrangement where we basically commission Eboracum as our official executers and as such your ceremony could have all the blood it will need. Now I will of course have to sell it to my own people. So perhaps you could explain to me what exactly happens at your festival, even if you have no interest in our condemned I'd still be interested to know." He inspected the bread and satisfied with its new golden colour he picked up a piece of ham and another of cheese and folded his bread around them before nibbling away as Montagne spoke.

"It is an abomination that you would consider such a thing." The Commander of The Order of Oak, Pero Zorić, voiced his concern. King Đurađ merely sat back in his chair as the various leaderships of the seven Holy Order discussed what he had brought them here to discuss.

"Don't be so wet Pero." Davor Grgić, the leader of the Huntsman's Order responded. "The nature and manner of execution was never important. Just the fact that their remains are given back to Druantia. Now so long as His Majesty can ensure that then I would not object to his suggestion." There were various other nods around the room.

"By giving our consent to this" Pero retorted, "we are allowing the worship of a false God." He was turning red in the face.

"You're showing your stupidity Pero" Davor shook his head. "If Druantia destroyed all Gods how can any be false, they simply don't exist. Its therefore not our problem that these people don't appreciate the folly of their actions. If this helps us gain some manner of access to their nation and therefore allows some chance to extend our programmes there then we are doing Druantia's work. Plus the idea may actually act as a deterrent for some."

The King very much doubted that but was growing bored of this theological wrangling. "Gentleman....and lady." He nodded an apology to Mila Pavlović who was the Commander of the only Order that was all female, the Order of Krešimira. "we have begun going in circles. I have other meetings today and while I do not need your approval on any matter you all know only too well on matters that may be influenced by our faith I have always consulted with you all. So please let me call a vote and then we can all be about our business." Pero would have liked the conversation to continue but he was well aware that he was likely to be on the losing side and so perhaps it was best to allow the vote to end his rear guard action and the King do what he would probably have done regardless of Pero's words. The King called for the vote, "Those for.....against...." he counted the raised hands then stood. "5-2 in favour.....I thank you all for your time and wish you well for the rest of the day. May the God guide you and keep you."

The others stood and each, speaking over each other, gave a blessing to the King while bowing and watched him leave. Đurađ was pleased with how it had gone, he actually had expected it to be more even, or that he'd actually be on the receiving end of their disapproval but with Zdeslav Pavić of his own order having the need for a favour of his own and the others often falling into line behind the senior of the orders he was perhaps guilty of having lacked confidence. He walked back to his office two doors down past Ewe, one of three clerks who manned his office. "Ewe please contact the ambassador from Eboracum I have an offer for him. Its no hurry but if we can squeeze him in first thing tomorrow morning that would be appreciated."

"Of course your Majesty" Ewe pulled a folder from the top draw of her desk and flicked the alphabetically coded cards down the side to find the Heptarchy. "Good Morning, this is Knight Ewe Modalik of the Order of Krešimira, I'm clerk to His Majesty King Đurađ and would like to arrange for the ambassador to attend the Palace to speak with the King on a matter he wishes to discuss...........thanks wonderful......8 am for breakfast if the Ambassador is free........excellent I shall let the King know, he'll be delighted. Goodbye."

To Field Marshall Krall

Having heard of the proposal put forward by King Aldwin we agree with their proposal. Should you be willing to accept those conditions put forward then we are more than happy to welcome you as a member of the initiative. If however you would prefer to negotiate the agreement then we believe this would take a meeting between government representatives. I look forward to hearing your decision.

Best Wishes

King Đurađ IV

Diplomacy and Events / A Request to the CNN - Public
« on: July 24, 2023, 11:29:28 AM »

To the Members of the CNN

Having seen your press release this morning about a humanitarian operation in the Matildas. As this is likely to impact issues surrounding the "Rainbow Route" through the Krimeon we would like to ask the CNN ships enroute to the Commonwealth of the Unfied Iwi to also aid in monitoring shipping in this region. In addition we are capable of sending a variety of civilian and merchant shopping to aid in the situation and as such would like to ask that the CNN keep this under their supervision. We look forward to working alongside you should this matter be accepted.

May The Gods Watch Over You and the Seas Be Calm

Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles.

Having consulted with the nations involved in the Sovereign Union of Nations the Project Zarptica teams are delighted to have permission to put their aircraft forward for your consideration.

The Zarptica is a highly capable fifth-generation fighter aircraft that is designed to operate from aircraft carriers. The Zarptica features a canard delta wing configuration, twin engines, and the AESA radar. These features give the Zarptica excellent maneuverability, range, and survivability.
The Zarptica is also equipped with a variety of advanced weapons, including beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile, the Sukom anti-radiation missile, and the Helina anti-tank missile. This gives the Zarptica a significant edge over enemy aircraft and ground targets. In addition to its combat capabilities, the Zarptica is also equipped with a suite of electronic warfare (EW) systems to jam enemy radars and communications. This makes the Zarptica a valuable asset for both offensive and defensive operations. The Zarptica is the perfect choice for any nation that requires a CATOBAR carrier-capable aircraft. The Zarptica's advanced capabilities and modular design make it a cost-effective and reliable solution for any navy.

The aircraft specifications requested are

Length: 16.30 m (53 ft 6 in)
Wingspan: 11.20 m (36 ft 9 in) (unfolded), 7.6m (24 ft 11 in) (folded)
Height: 5.2 m (17 ft 1 in)
Empty Weight: 13,000 kg (28,660 lb)
Internal Fuel: 7,000 kg (15,430 lb)
Weapons Payload: 6,000 kg (13,228 lb)
Max Takeoff Weight: 26,000 kg (57,320 lb)
Range: 3,500 nautical miles (6,500 km)
Combat Radius on Internal Fuel: 1,000 nautical miles (1,852 km)
Thrust/Weight Ratio on Full Fuel: 1.02
Thrust/Weight Ratio on 50% Fuel: 1.25
G-Limits: +9/-3
Maximum Speed at Altitude: Mach 1.6

In addition to this specifications we would like to outline that the Zarptica is equipped for buddy in flight refuelling. Also as the project involves four nations providing input this project would make, if selected, an ideal opportunity to form working relationships with several other nations.

Character Guides / Re: Drenovians
« on: June 11, 2023, 09:29:29 PM »

Her Majesty Queen Alice of the Ferns
Princess of Holmvik
Knight of The Drenovian Order
RL-pauline hoarau

Alice was born in Drenovia in 2003 and is the youngest child of King Sven of Holmvik and his wife Queen Rebecca. King Sven had been defeated in a civil war in Holmvik and fled first to Drenovia and then fearing capture left with most of his family however keen to leave an heir away from him in case of capture she was left behind. Duke Izak Branković, a high up member of the Drenovian Order, ended up as her guardian and raised her in the Druatia faith. She was always aware of her true birth however she only meet her real father on a handful of occasions and as such considers Duke Izak as her father in reality.

In 2007 she was enrolled at the Drenovian Orders Academy but was not a boarding student instead remaining with Duke Izak. She remained at this school until 2021 when she graduated with good grades in science subjects. She went on to University of Opatija to study Chemistry. While in schools she was also an active member of the Drenovian Orders youth group and formed part of their Woodland Rangers, a group that actively maintain the forests. The Woodland Rangers while part of the Drenovian Order work very regularly with the Order of Krešimira and through this she got to know Queen Jožica well. In 2018 Alice became the first non-Drenovian born person to gain their Gold Ranger award which is given to individuals who have undertaken a commitment to learn a new skill, take part in a sporting activity and done voluntary service before undertaking a three day forest hike.

Alice was introduced to King Đurađ IV as a potential wife in 2022 by Duke Izak and following religious consultation about a potential curse on Queen Jožica was identified as a potential bride because of her existing royal blood.

KING TO TAKE CONTROVERSIAL THIRD WIFE TO OVERCOME "CURSE"

King Đurađ has today confirmed that he is to take a third wife and his choice is one that could likely cause controversy. The King already has two wives, Queen Terezija whom he married in 2008 and Queen Jožica who he married in 2012. There was however religious condemnation when he originally married Queen Jožica as she was already promised to another noble man and the King effectively helped the then 18 year old daughter of Lord Luca Franić break an oath. Many believe this is the reason why Prince Hrvoje was born with Myelomeningocele, a spinal condition that has left him with longer term health issues. The King has often stated that he hopes to extend the size of the royal family and many have for a while speculated that he would take more wives. It was revealed today however that he has, over the last few months, been persuing a relationship with Princess Alice of Holmvik. The 20 year old is the daughter of Holmviks exiled King Sven and was born in Drenova. In 2000 King Sven faced a rebellion in his homeland and was ousted and spent three years in Drenova before leaving for the Ecclesiastical State and then disappearing. He left Princess Alice in the care of Duke Izak Branković, a friend of King Đurađ through their membership of the Drenovian Order. Duke Izak has raised Princess Alice since he abandonment and she has been raised as a follower of the Druantian faith. It is understood that the Priesthood have agreed that the King can ignore the usual tradition of asking a womans next of kin for permission to marry but must instead gain the permission of Duke Izak, which has been given. The date for the wedding is not yet confirmed.

The announcement of the marriage could cause problems however as King Đurađ recently made an agreement on scientific and communications matters with Holmvik who have actively been looking for the exile King since his escape 23 years ago. A spokesman for the King said though that KingĐurađ had little concern saying, "Alice meet her father twice, all before the age of 3. She is a Drenovian of royal blood, all be it a foreign and extinct crown, but royal none the less. Our faith teaches us that therefore means her bloodline contains power and I am thankful that she has agreed to join my family as my wife. I believe President Haugen is a wise man and will realise this in no way is us slighting his nation. Alice will be a Queen of Drenovia and mother to my children and I am confident that will not make Holmvik any less friendly towards us."

9. RSOC shall carry out this role until 2025.

10. Those who live on the island or have immediate family who live on the island shall be issued a Rokkenjima Sea Permit Card (RSPC). Holders of these cards may travel freely between the islands so long as not considered a threat to national security.

11. A Rokkenjima Sea Assembly (RSA) shall be established with Rokkenjima and Daito holders of the RSPC being given a voice on decisions to be made in the waters of the islands in accordance with the FSC. Neither national governments must abide by the advice of the RSA.

Once the document has been signed by both parties the first of the Bakkermayan contingent of the Rokkenjima Sea Observation Corps shall deploy within 24 hours thus beginning the mandate as outlined in the proposal. If that is possible then we shall consider this an end to these proceedings and welcome a return to peace.

May The Gods Watch Over You and Your Nation Know Peace

Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles.

The document was short but covered everything that Đurađ could think of. "If President Haugen think he can get this through his nations legislature then I am happy to sign this and get things moving." Đurađ couldn't help but find it amusing that Haugen would have to go back crawling to his people to get the funds and permission, like a child asking their Mummy and Daddy for more pocket money. It made him wonder how Holmvik could even function effectively but thankfully that wasn't his problem.

King  Đurađ was impressed with this Fritzel character. He was clearly passionate about his project and had the details seemingly firmly in his grasp. "Professor I'm very happy with what you've outlined and so if the project puts in writing several of the key elements that you've spoken of then I'll put my nations name, and its money towards this project. I also would be happy to split the funding two ways should our neighbours from Holmvik make the decision to not be part of the project, I hope though they will join."

"You're going to have to forgive me."  Đurađ IV spoke up following Aldwin's mini presentation. " I'm not a man of science. I know my way around a plane and thats about as technical as I get. These nodes, are we talking about something the size of say a shoe box or something the size of a house? Would a team in Drenovia be able to access the data they produce at the same time as your own researchers or would we have to, like the Cenneg radio telescope network, have to book a time slot? The idea of sticking something down on the bottom of the sea sounds a rather technical process and how long would these systems last? The price of $300million sounds a figure I can't afford to just splash out because something sounds good, but it needs to be something I can see an investment in. So for my $100million, assuming we split this three ways, exactly what do I get in return? All this being said I don't want you to think I am anti this project, far from it, the idea sounds impressive and I'm all for impressive science, I just often don't understand it."

16
Lascelles found himself a little annoyed. If he'd have been in the Emperor of Daito's shoes he would likely have done exactly what he had, after all to everyone it seemed like a war could spill out any moment and you couldn't risk deception. However a few million spent to ensure no future conflict seemed a decent deal. "We'll have member of our Engineers Regiments make their way over as soon as possible. Its a process thats likely to take a few weeks so what I propose is that we therefore sign this document with the caveat that it include an agreement that a sum of money to be determined by the Assembly shall be transferred between the two nations. This will be the balance of the costs incurred by Daito in replacing its loses and compensation and the cost in putting right damage in Rokkenjima. This shall be capped at a maximum of $500million on the Daito side of the equation and at $750million on the Rokkenjiman side. If this is acceptable then the inspection teams can leave tomorrow and this document will be signed in a few hours time."

King Đurađ IV had opted to travel without either of his wives, making it his first overseas visit without either of them. He had rather high hopes for this meeting despite Holmvik being Republicans. The flight in the royal jet was, thankfully, uneventful and the sight of the military welcome was something he approved of. He shook Max by the hand and enjoyed a quick chat with the royal who was also an Air Force officer. He hoped to perhaps have further conversations later.

As they arrived at the Palace he was only too happy to go along with the media circus, it was part of the job of the monarchy to cultivate a certain image and so mingling diplomatically with others. He was sure his wives would have liked the flowers but he himself saw them as pretty pointless but he did his best to thank the young Princess for the gift. "Thank you for such a warm welcome. I'm looking forward to getting our talks underway."

18
"With that being the case I believe then that we have reached this as a final draft."

"All that I believe remains is for us to formulate the RSCOC. I propose that Brigadier Atkins be placed in command of the military elements. Meanwhile I would put Duchess Anna Davison forward as the civilian staff leader. Currently the membership of the Assembly, beyond those who are party to the resolution agreement (OOC- Sorry but I'm going to refuse to recognise non-active RPers as members) we have ourselves, Gowu, Ui Cenneslaig and Cantabria. That would mean each of us would, if agreeable, contribute 50 soldiers and 25 civilian staff. Bakkermaya will stand by to fill in for any nation that for any reason can not provide the numbers. That is of course reliant on Daito and Rokkenjima being willing to grant this set up access and agreement on leadership."

To: His Majesty King Aldwin VI

We are happy to accept your invitation and myself and a team of my nations intrigued oceanographers will arrive as soon as you are ready to begin this discussion.

I look forward to meeting you in person.

King Đurađ IV of Drenova

21
"As a compromise might I suggest the following be included in the resolution in place of Article 5."

Quote from: New Article 5

The RSOC will maintain a registry of military aircraft. Each nation may station ten fixed wing aircraft in the region that fulfil combat roles. In addition they may maintain a further ten fixed wing aircraft that undertake none combat roles. No limits shall be place on rotary wing aircraft. Should the officer commanding receive a specific request for additional aircraft to be stationed they may agree to temporary extensions to limits for a period no longer than 7 days, however repeat requests shall be permitted. Any request approved must apply to both nations.

"I believe that this will allow both parties to undertake necessary air patrols to prevent issues such as say piracy or smuggling but also give some ability to respond to search and rescue operations and humanitarian efforts should it be required. The agreement puts in place clear protocols that would, under emergency situations, give the ability for this to be flexible. It falls some way short of a full no fly zone however I would make it clear that the ROSC would likely be operating air assets to monitor the situation in the region and therefore would expect both nations co-operation."

22
Hugo shuffled a few papers and waited for Tsu to finish. " I agree, throwing blame is not why we are here. We are here to ensure such an incident never happens again. Deception is a key part of warfare and I for one can not blame the Daitojin government for their response whether it could be avoided is something for another day. Now to address the Duchess and Chief Councillor. The bone of contention was who had claim over the islands, until now there has been no actual agreed line to act as a border. Article 1 of this charter then creates this long standing "Line of Control" as a formal border. It will be marked on global maps, it will be recognised by all nations on Mundus just as the border between any other nation. With both governments here today saying they agree to that article the matter of who owns the islands is sealed. By 2025 it is therefore going to be the case that this will be no different to say the border between Cassiopeia and either of these two nations. However perhaps we could have a fall back that there must be two clear years with no issues reported by Rokkenjiman Sea Observation Corps (RSOC) before they are withdrawn. As for what happens if the agreement is broken it would clearly be the case that the aggressor would be known by RSOC and we as independent nations could take what action we feel appropriate however it is clear any issue is likely to drag RSOC troops into the situation and as such Bakkermaya would respond. against the aggressor, the issue comes that there are so many ways this could be broken that we can not have a one size fits all policy on that. Now as for distances we have two options. The first is that we make a no fly zone within 100km of the islands, within it the only military aircraft can be RSOC aircraft. Option two we permit a small number, no more than say ten military fixed wing aircraft in the islands airspace."

23
OOC - Graziano is like a diplomatic ninja getting where he shouldn't be. Abertone get your application in. To keep this flowing though imagine rather than Graziano saying it imagine it was Duchess Anna of the Bakkermaya delegation. So the post can say

"Duchess Anna spoke up, "If I may interject a moment" he began "I applaud what the Grand Duke is suggesting and please let me go on record as saying the Ducal Militia of Wellow will voulenter forces to fulfil the RSOC part of the proposal. I think though we may also need to limit the naval activity in the area. I believe during the conflict a significant number of carrier groups were deployed, thus making a mockery of the concept of limiting the number of aircraft stationed there. Might I suggest we also say that no carrier is permitted within 100km of the islands unless RSOC are given 48 hours notice. I would draw short of a total ban as we can not predict the future and a time may come when on humanitarian grounds in say the event of a tsunami carriers may be welcome to the area."

We can then OOC still have Daito's response ignoring the mention of Abertone. Hope thats ok folks? We'll just wait for Rok's response then carry on.

24
Lascelles hadn't expected it to be quiet as simple as it seemed to be going. There were issues to work through but it seemed that was just going to be a case of negotiating numbers. "Without intimate knowledge of the islands, their inhabitants, their topography putting a set number on the number of troops would be difficult. I would however suggest that perhaps we say on Takarajima and Suisenjima (OOC - Couldn't read that quiet right on the map so maybe misspelt) we say no more than 500 troops, with Akarashima and Narushima being limited to 1,000. Again in terms of aircraft without knowing the intimacies of the islands I would suggest no more than ten what we shall call combat aircraft, bombers or fighters, a pair of maritime patrol aircraft but no limits on unarmed military helicopters as I can see potential uses in maritime search and rescue. As for the definition of heavy armour we would define it as being an armoured combat vehicle with an integral or organic direct fire gun of at least 75 millimeters calibre, weighing at least 6,0 metric tons unladen weight.[1]. How does this sound?"

OOC - Having it been almost a week and no one saying anything about the proposal or speaking to me via any DM's I'm moving this forward.

With the private meeting between the members of the Assembly to view Lascelles initial ideas done people bedded down for the evening. At 8am the following morning members of the Horseman of Jekar knocked on the doors of the Rokkenjiman and Daito delegations to ensure they were ready and at 8:55 am escorted them to the Ballroom. The room was set up with a triangle of tables Lascelles sat at the tip to chair the meeting, the Rokkenjimans to his left and the Daitoans to his right. At the base of the triangle were the rest of Bakkermaya's diplomatic team and those drawn from elsewhere in the assembly. There was a nervous quiet as the two opposing factions made their way in through different doors and Hugo did his best to be as conforming to etiquette as one could be in such a situation. "Good Morning" he began, "Yesterday I was able to meet with Empress Shizukesa and Prime Minister Konishi and I have to say I am deeply hopeful following those discussions that a solution to this problem can be worked out. This solution I believe will stop the current hostilities and ensure the chances of such a thing happening again are greatly reduced. After our talks I attempted to draft a resolution that I hope meets both parties expectations while doing its best to honour what can best be described as non-negotiables. Last night the Assembly where shown copies of this and I asked for their feedback, it is my hope that therefore this will have the support of the Assembly." He passed a pack of copies to the Empress and Prime Minister while Duchess Anna Davison, one of his own diplomats did so to the Assembly members.

11. A Rokkenjima Sea Assembly (RSA) shall be established with Rokkenjima and Daito holders of the RSPC being given a voice on decisions to be made in the waters of the islands in accordance with the FSC. Neither national governments must abide by the advice of the RSA

Hugo thanked each of the delegation for their time and went off to his own room for a while to type up a few ideas. It was beginning to get dark when he sent word to the other Assembly members that he was ready to brief them. Once they were all assembled and ready he began. "I'd like to begin by thanking you all for coming here. We're here to discuss the ongoing issues between two of our members and neighbours and it revolves heavily around these set of islands."

"Allow me to bring you up to speed. Several days ago a Rokkenjima aircraft downed a Daito patrol plane which saw a series of dogfights above the islands which saw several aircraft downed. In the following 24 hours we saw missile strikes launched from Daito and a ground mobilisation. Currently both nations have forces on the islands shown on their own side of the long standing division. That is a good step but the numbers of troops is decreasing which is promising. Both nations have moved numerous carrier groups into the area. The islands are populated by just under 100,000 people in total, Tokarajima appears to be the biggest with some 58,000 Daitioans on the island. There exists what is called a "Line of Control" which not formally agreed acts as a border between the various nations and its there that recent clashes have come about. Neither nation is willing to give up the islands but the Daito Prime Minister has stated that he would willingly accept that line as an official border. This was also suggested by the Rokkenjiman Empress. Therefore I think this part is a no brainer. Sadly the Rokkenjimans have requested that Heyra had no input into the decision. I however will not enforce Heyra being removed but would appreciate their discretion during talks. I would however value their input into our discussion now where put together a formal proposal to present to the two parties when we meet shortly. I have a few ideas." Lascelles passed a document he had drafted around.

"I open the floor to anyone who has any suggestions or amendments they wish to make." Hugo knew it was far from perfect but it at least meant he wasn't going to walk into the formal meeting with nothing.

A pair of EMAC-Airlines aircraft had been chartered by the Bakkermayan government. With a security detail drawn from the Six Dukedoms Security Service and the elite military unit the Horseman of Jekar onboard each they had taken off at roughly the same time. Details of neither flight had been told to the others and once they had landed in Daito and Rokkenjima respectively they waited for the delegations to arrive. Each delegation had their seats in First Class and on the flight back Air Force NCO's made sure refreshments were served. Once they had reached within two hours of Edwinstowe the Senior NCO onboard each flight presented the lead delegate with a letter written by Hugo Lascelles, each was identical.

Quote from: The Letter

Thank you for agreeing to give this course of mediation a chance. It is my hope that in the coming hours or days we can find a path to return peace to Ardia. In order to do so we shall undertake the following process.

1. Upon arrival you will be transported to Edwinstowe Manor Estate Daito's delegation shall be accommodated in the East Wing with the Rokkenjiman in the West. Talks shall take place in the Ballroom.

2. After arrival and an hour to relax the lead of each delegation shall meet one on one with Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles. He will ask each nation to lay out their stances and once he has heard from both parties he shall brief the other members of the Ardian Assembly in attendance.

3. After the briefing of the Assembly delegations shall meet in the Ballroom where an initial proposal based on the Assemblies briefing shall be presented to all parties as a foundation from which discussions shall begin.

4. Talks shall take breaks every 90 minutes unless both parties agree to a break before that time has been reached or the mediators call for one.

5. At all times when leaving their designated wing of the Estate a delegate must be accompanied by a member of the Horseman of Jekar. Each delegation will have a cadre of these troops with them at all times.

6. Talks shall, if talks go past the first day, commence at 9am, halt between 1pm and 2pm for lunch and again between 5pm and 6pm for dinner before concluding at 8pm each day unless both parties agree to extensions.

It is hoped these matters will ensure the talks are secure and productive.

I look forward to our shared success.

May The Gods Be With You and Our Continent Know Peace.

Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles.

As each delegation touched down there was a brief formal welcome by Sir Kenneth Matthews, the nations new Lead Sword, before a convoy of vehicles whisked them through the green forests of Bakkermaya to reach Edwinstowe Manor Estate. Each party where shown to their rooms and given time to settle in before each in turn was brought face to face with Lascelles.

He was in the study that stood above the grand entrance hall and as each delegate was brought in the the Grand Duke was careful to ensure a respectful greeting. "In the interests of transparency it is my intention to ask each of you the same questions. It will give me a chance to get to know the situation from both points of view and assess where the best place to start is. I would appreciate you being as frank as possible, it will help us ensure that we begin without any misunderstanding." He asked his first question. "So tell me about these islands, how many of your people live on them and when did they become part of your homeland." As each gave their answer he did his best to appear emotionless just letting his pen scrawl on his paper. "Thank you, could you tell me why do you think there is a disagreement about them thats only just reached tipping point in 2023?" Again he listened carefully trying to pick up clues that would allow him a place to begin discussions. "Thank you." he said again as the answer finished, "So at present what is the status of your nations military in the region?" He figured this could be the most awkward point. "What would your reaction be if the Assembly suggested your neighbour be given the islands?" He waited sure that would be an awkward response, "What if we suggested no one have the islands?" Again a sticky point, "Final question if I may, are their any assembly nations you would not want as part of a solution, naturally they will be part of the talks but who knows what solution we may explore?"

With his questions answered and notes made he thanked each for their responses and after seeing the final of the two made his way to meet the others representing nations from the Assembly.

While we appreciate the support from our colleagues in Heyra the security of delegates in Bakkermaya will be the sole responsibility of the Bakkermayan Armed Forces. We will not permit soldiers from other nations to operate on our territory in circumstances that may require us to us force to protect those under our care. As such we feel that there is no need for observers to be present as they will merely hinder any response if required as it means more people for our forces to deal with. With Achkaerin having input in Rokkenjima via Imperial Intelligence and Security we also believe Gowu should be removed from any arrangements in this regard.

Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles.

Consider this seconded and moved to here

30

Following the previous few days of hostile exchanges within the Rokkenjiman Sea and the apparent confusion between the nations of Daito and Rokkenjima we are urging both nations to seek a peaceful resolution. With this in mind I suggest that we follow the schedule.

1. All forces retire to positions held at the commencement of the conflict.

2. No aircraft shall approach within 10km of internationally recognised boundaries as established by the FSC

3. Bakkermayan Armed Forces shall pick up a representative party consisting of no more than five members from each nations government. These two parties shall be taken to Edwinstowe where discussions shall commence on a lasting end to the hostilities.

4. Should no agreement be reached accomodation shall be provided in Edwinstowe until talks are either exhausted or the situation resolved.

5. Security shall be provided by members of the Bakkermayan Armed Forces.

6. Any attempt to interfere with the other delegation shall be considered an attack upon Bakkermaya.

We hope these conditions are agreeable.

Grand Duke Hugo Lascelles
