Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding GLC (CASC)
« on: October 13, 2019, 04:38:06 AM »
(Pretend I've put a cool logo here already)

Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding GLC, is the government-owned company responsible for the development of dragonaii naval vessels, dominantly the Wolf Class Attack Submarine and various support/auxiliary vessels. Most, if not all, are available to SANE.

A merger of Blut-Himmel Shipyards, Mingxing Shipyards, Hessenburg Naval Engineering, and Serpent Naval Design, it was consolidated in 1970 to accommodate the highly classified Sea Serpent Project, a military project to design a nuclear-fueled far-range attack submarine to serve as the most advanced and capable force of the SICRDN. The result of that project, the Sea Serpent Mk. I was a success and led to the Sea Serpent Mk. IV, the current and only nuclear submarine design in the SICR's arsenal. Following the Open Gate Policy in 2018, it was decided that the company should make its commercial civilian craft division available to the rest of Mundus.

Currently headed by CEO Klaus Hessenburg, Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding GLC's services are open to all approved by SANE and the Imperial Administration, save all civilian vessels. Customers must not be at war with, embargoed by, or have a relationship level more severe than the normal "suspicious" designation with the SICR.

HistoryDevelopment of the Sea Serpent extends back to 1968 after the 1967 Fleet State Assessment determined that a large attack submarine force would serve the SICR better than its preexisting battleship strategy. To resolve the need for a powerful, long-distance attack submarine, the CASC was formed to create a design. The result of several decades of trial and error ended in the successful birth of IDNAS Sea Serpent in 1983, the first and longest-serving of its class. It was quickly followed by its six sister vessels, named Steadfast, Valiant, Faithful, Honorable, Watchful, and Dutiful, in respective order of completion and commission. While expensive, the submarines' ability to effectively counter enemy nuclear submarines and advanced surface vessels has been considered to have paid it off.
Other InformationN/A
AvailabilityCurrently limited to the SICR alone, although exceptions may be made to SANE members' requests.

To: Klaus Hessenburg, CEO of Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding

You may have heard recently that the New Derusmian Military was looking to foreign, friendly nations to help supply equipment for its recent expansion. By far, the largest foreign supplier of military equipment to New Derusmia is the SICR. We’d like to continue this by asking your establishment, the Cobalt Ampithere Shipbuilding GLC, for help in expanding our Maritime Forces.

Clearly, we can see that your own nation’s Navy is heavily invested into Submarine technology, so when the Supreme Commandant began looking for a solution to building more of the type, our thoughts instantly turned towards the SICR, no offence intended. When we also discovered that this establishment was now allowing other nations to request the building of ships, we were obviously overjoyed at this, and I decided to write to you promptly.

We simply ask to order 1 Sea Serpent Strategic Nuclear Attack Submarine, 2 Hanyue Mk. II Replenishment Oilers, and 2 Wolf Class Attack Submarines for trials and integration into the New Derusmian Maritime Force’s fleet. Once trials are finished, we plan to order more of both the Sea Serpent and Wolf Class.

If there are any complications, please don’t hesitate to contact me or the Supreme Commandant, and I hope that this will strengthen the bond between our two nations.

Best wishes,

To President Feish of New Derusmia,

We are delighted to supply you with all the vessels you have ordered, including the Sea Serpent Nuclear Attack Submarine, the purchase of which was approved with the seal of the Emperor-Admiral himself. We can have the replenishment oilers delivered by the end of the year, though the Wolf Class submarines will require until mid-2020, and the Sea Serpent Class until November 2020. We will request the SICRDN to dispatch one commissioned vessel of each class to assist with their integration, along with engineers and technicians to train your personnel in their upkeep. You may expect them to arrive as soon as their respective orders are completed and ready to be delivered.

Best Regards,

Klaus Hessenberg, CASC, CEO

Due to their high costs, only two were purchased, built and delivered in 1992.
