Rise in Organised Crime Attributed to Clanless Mercenaries
Recent rise in organised crime as more clanless Vevinians join mercenary groups leading to mercenary groups that have been increasingly acting outside of their mandate, damaging both civil and private properties across clan lines.
On Friday the 6th of July 2018 shop owner and anti-mercenary advocate Petrus Opin opened his shop to find his store had been broken into, products had been stolen and the interior of the shop had been vandalised with violent messages with an anarchist sentiment. This is believed to be a pre-meditated attack and that Opin was targeted due to his anti-mercenary views. Opin along with other anti-mercenary activists believe that mercenaries should not be able to operate on Vevinian soil as they are normally employed to protect criminal gangs or threaten civilians in exchange for money.

A quote from Opin says "This here is exactly why mercenaries should be banned in Vevinia. Myself and others should not feel afraid to speak our minds and denouce mercenaries, they are nothing more than glorified thugs."
Opin has started a crowdfunding campaign to help him cover the costs caused by the damage caused to his shop. At the moment there have been no arrests in conjunction with this incident but police are combing through CCTV footage to look for any marks or symbols that could identify the perpetrators or the mercenary group they work for.
