STOFFEL WELCOMES YOU TO KEEPTON The historic city of Keepton wishes to be considered for the hosts of the 2022 Mundus Winter Games. Your host for the games will be none other than East Moreland beloved cartoon Honeybadger
Stoffel who is excited to show you around our nation. The City of Keepton.
The city sits just a few kilometers away from the foothills of the Alba Karinyan Alps, the backbone of the continent. The city itself is a former capital of East Moreland and boasts some key historic sites for the nation including the Mustering Hall where legend has it that King Robert gathered his first army together to begin the unification of the lands that became East Moreland. The city is already a well visited city by Morelanders wishing to enjoy the skiing and snowboarding in the Alps and over the last few years the region has become well equipped with venues and facilities capable of hosting a premier sporting event. Should Keepton be selected for the games then the following venues will be used.
Venue | Sport | Information |
Doevale | Alpine Skiing Biathlon Snowboard Slalom | The small town of Doevale is just a short bus ride away from Keepton and easily accessable. It boasts some of the best ski-runs in the country as well as a welcoming apres-ski community. The town is also home to the Alpine Cadre Regiment which is one of East Moreland's oldest military units. It is at their barracks that the biathlon shooting will take place.
It should be possible for around 20,000 people a day to access the main routes with many more visiting the town. |
Alpine Sports Park, Keepton | Bobsled Luge Skeleton | Built in 2010 to help East Moreland's top sliding athletes prepare for international competition the winding track forms a central park of a sprawling complex to the East of Keepton that houses several facilities dedicated to the great outdoors.
The track has several stands and view platforms that can house about 12,000 people along the route and in a specially designed fan park. |
The Doevale-Keepton Trail | Cross Country SKiing | One of the beauties of East Moreland is the wide open countryside. The picturesque path from Doevale to Keepton sweeps through woodland, follows a river and then crosses a rugged stretch of farmland before heading uphill to the city of Keepton. Routes for various distances utilising the path can be created.
With the course being largely through the countryside it is expected that anyone who wished could come and watch. Some fan parks will be constructed along the routes. |
Keepton University Ice Centre | Curling Ice Hockey Pool Games | Keepton University is naturally a location where the students take part in regular snow and skating sports. The Ice Centre boasts enough seating for around 8,000 people. |
Park EMAC-Snow (Ashdale) | Freestyle Skiing Snow Boarding | Built in 2017 by the people of a the town of Ashdale as a youth lead project sponsored by EMAC. A vast array of snowbased tricks can be done on the equipment constructed by youth volunteers. The Park exists as a non-profit recreation facility to support local young people to gain skills in business and service industries.
The Park can easily accommodate upwards of 10,000 people |
Northern Arena | Figure Skating Speed Skating | The Northern Arena is home to the National Academy of Ice Skating and is the centre of excellence for East Moreland skate sports.
It can accommodate 10,000 individuals and sits on the edge of the Alpine Sports Park. |
The Keepton Royal Indoor Arena | Ice Hockey
| Home to the Keepton Kings Ice Hockey team the arena was built in 2020 and as well as hosting the nations biggest ice hockey team the arena has also been used for musical concerts and Medieval MMA contests.
The venue can be easily configured for various different sports and can be able to accommodate around 10,000 people. |
The Keepton Hill Bowl | Ski Jumping | The Keepton Hill Bowl is the oldest part of the Alpine Sports Park and sits the closest to the cities suburbs of any sport. Jumpers informally refer to it as the "Jump to Death" as the landing area is directly up against an old grave site.
The Bowl itself is able to hold around 8,000 people but nearby buildings also give great views of the action |

Alongside these world class venues the athletes who take part in the games will be accomodated in two centres, only a short bus ride apart from each other. The Town of Doevale will open the Royal School of Mountain Soldiering for athletes.
The School is a campus that has traditionally acted as a centre for East Moreland's military to perfect skills required for action in Alpine and mountainous terrain. In more modern times much of the School has been turned over to other uses such as youth activities for schools, research teams accommodation and even is used as a base of operations for the East Moreland rugby teams. The most famous graduate from the School of Mountain Soldering is King David III of East Moreland. Here athletes will be able to enjoy dorm style rooms for up to four people, each with en-suite facilities. Self contained catering can be provided however the campus has a huge banquet hall that will be turned into a 24 hour cafeteria. The School's ballroom will host daily activities such as music events, gaming tournaments and karaoke.
The second centre will be the University of Keepton
The University accomodation is in three purpose built blocks. Individual rooms centred around 10 people communal kitchens and lounges will provide the basis. Once again the Universities facilities will be at the disposal of the athletes. Should teams prefer the University has several different dining options, all of which will be open 24 hours a day throughout the games. The University will also have its own social calendar which will include an "Athletes Ball" on the final evening of the games which all athletes invited to the games will be able to attend.
The two accomodation centres will be linked be frequent Trollybus, with Keepton having invested recently in a new fleet of electric powered
buses. These buses run on an overhead cable for the vast majority of their travel and as well as providing the energy to run the bus they also charge the batteries for running off the grid. The buses will also provide reliable, clean and regular transport between all venues, fan parks and athlete accommodation.
The region is used to hosting major tourist events as every April the area hosts the Keepton Art Festival which sees close to 1million visitors over the duration of the event. Therefore hotels, hostels and holiday homes are well prepared to take onboard the task of ensuring visitors to East Moreland receive a warm welcome and are well looked after.
Media for the event will be provided by EMTV which is the largest media company in East Moreland. The channel has for the past 10 years had exclusive rights to show the East Moreland Rugby Premier League, Formula Mundus events and has already had experience of bringing global events to the world having previously run the broadcast for the Rugby World Cup and the Summer Games. Nations can be assured of round the clock coverage of every event so that partners can tailor their schedules to suit their home audience.
Dear Future Friends
As a young Honeybadger I'm excited to be helped by my friend King David so that I can invite all of you to a great adventure in my favourite place in the world, my home of East Moreland. It would be really great if we would be allowed to host the Mundus Winter Games so that everyone can have fun in the snow.
We promise that if you pick us to host your games everyone will be welcome, no matter where on Mundus they come from and King David has agreed that no one will be excluded because of where they come from. We think our games will be safe and welcoming. We'll make sure everyone is kept safe and looked after by our amazing team of voulenteers.
East Moreland is a nation that loves its Alps. They once stood as our protection against the world but now as things have changed we don't want to keep the world out, we wish to welcome them in. The Alps therefore now stand as a perfect oppurtunity to show that the isolation that marked a large chunk of East Morelands history is kept in the past. We want to be a centrepiece of excellence in sport, we love sport here, all types and the winter games give us a chance to promote even more sports to our own people.
Keepton is an amazing city full of history and culture, so even when not watching people sliding down the Alps on the snow people will have plenty to see and do. The city is an old one with medieval walls to walk on, bars and restaurants in every side street that offer unique dining experiences, why not come and try some of East Moreland's cuisine such as Bear Sausage, Hunter's Stew and of course Venison Steaks. The city will feature huge music experiences with festival halls found in several parts of the city meaning even on quiet days on the hill people will still feel the adventure of a different culture.
Myself and King David can not wait to welcome you to East Moreland and hope that you pick us.
We'll see you soon.
Signed
Stoffel
AND
His Majesty King David III of East Moreland.
May The Gods Watch Over You and Your Nation Know Peace.
