Naval Exercises near Naval Air Station Vodi in preparation for deployments
[/u]

Admiral Martin McBaron announced on tuesday that the Novincian Naval Operations Command (NAVOPCOM) has scheduled several deployments for several fleets in the Novincian Navy to take place very soon. For years, we have only operated in our territorial waters, conducting routine exercises and maintenance on our vessels and performing mock flight patrols over our airspace. "It is time for us to begin engaging in diplomacy with our allies and flexing our might for our adversaries", said McBaron. NAVOPCOM has plans to reignite Novincian presence in foreign ports in the next year or so. Many sailors in the Navy can expect to be forward deployed very soon. The NNS Megalos performed evasion maneuvers and hosted a mock VBSS (visit, board, search, and seizure) with Trident Group 2 (TRIGRU2) and Rivermen Squadrons 1 and 4 to train Naval Special Operations Forces (NAVSOF).

At Naval Air Station Vodi, A21-Barracudas could be seen taking off for flight exercises over the skies of Vodi. Captain Francis Fallon, commander of the BC-2 (Barracuda Air Combat Squadron 2), famously known as the Seahawks, told our reporters that aerial operations across Novincia are following smoothly and will soon be deployable in the coming months. "My squadron has worked very well with others in order to make the most of this training opportunity," said the 45 year old fighter pilot, "they're happy to be out there, and I'm happy they're doing so well."

CSTO flag flies over Rokkenjima once again

During the Imperial Address by Empress Beatrice of Rokkenjima, the Cross-Straits Treaty Organization flag was hoisted, signifying the implementation of the CSTO after years of its non-existence. Doyen Alea was present in the meeting prior that led to the decision to revamp the close friendship we have with our Tytorian and Rokkenjiman allies. The CSTO is regarded as the most important symbol between the nations and puts Novincia on it personal pedestal that it once had many years ago. During the address Iosef Square was filled with crowds of cheering and chanting individuals coming together, flying Novincia, Rokkenjiman, and Tytorian flags. A special announcement came from Minister of Foreign Affairs John Vicente shortly after the Imperial speech.

Quote
"It is with great happiness and honor that I announce in accordance to Empress Beatrice of Rokkenjima that Novincia is fully engaged in the prosperity the CSTO will offer us. The greatest triage Mundus has ever known is alive, and it's heart is beating ferociously. I, as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, promise to do my utmost to create a better Novincia, thus creating a better Mundus. Thank you."

The CSTO flag was also hoisted under the Novincian flag over the Domsily. This is a developing story, we will keep you updated to the best of our ability.

Doyen turned to Thatcher, "I'll be honest with you, I was not prepared for this. I agree that Achkaerin has the right to be aware of what's going on, and this is something they should know about. But this tedious back and forth between you, Beatrice, and him has left me in the dark. I have been listening as best I can, I assure you."

Doyen took a sip of his beverage, "I can see how you're upset. I've known, prior to this meeting, that Tytor simply doesn't want anything to do with the CSU, and everyone else, including me, should have nothing against that. As far as my knowledge goes, it's optional, and serves independently from the CSTO like it always has been. I am not up to speed with the times, and that has sparked confusion with me about Emersons remark about how it simply doesn't work in Mundus' current circumstances. What he's saying isn't wrong. Can the CSU and CSTO work together like a peas and carrots in vegetable soup? Yes. Do they have to? Absolutely not."

"But then again, I feel as if anything I say in this will just fuel the fire. Novincia has nothing to lose. I came here to reunite with old friends and get Novincia back into the scene like we once were. Signing this treaty was the perfect way to do that. And now, it's going a completely different route."

Alea turned to see Beatrice and Emerson reenter.

"I have no issues with Article 9 as it is. It's perfect."

Doyen Alea and Minister Vicente exchanged greetings with Emerson.

"Yes, to answer your question, Vicegerent. Novincia was apart of the union. In fact we had 94 representatives in attendance. Unfortunately we had a falling out."

Doyen looked at Vicente, everything was moving too fast for them. The two quickly sensed the tension in the room after Mr. Emerson spoke. However both of them knew that they had to think fast, the world doesn't run on their schedule. This information was brand new to them and after quick analysis and dissemination, Alea spoke to Vicente, "For a new Novincia, Sir." He nodded.

After hearing Thatchers input, Alea interjected, "I can't give a definite answer to you, Mr. Emerson. However our policies were almost molded by our prior membership so renewal of it would be an easy process, so we are leaning more towards a yes than a no. I feel like this would need more than a 'get-together' to properly discuss. It's a much more lengthy charter than the CSTO, more stuff to take into consideration."

Vicente looked at Alea with disapproval, a common thing among the Doyen and his cabinet.

Alea saw the Empress' every move as she took the fragile document down from the wall. He had secretly hoped this is what this meeting would lead to, because Novincia was stronger than ever when it was first created. With a strong Novincia and stronger allies, the only way his beloved nation could go is up.

Alea smiled and replied, "I think this was inevitable. Our world isn't perfect and adversaries will continue to stick their head out of the muck every once in awhile to shout their huzzah, whether it be for evil or for good."

He turned to see Vicente smiling and turned back, "I have no complaints, I'm willing to take the risk as well."

Doyen Alea studied the document mounted on the wall, and recounted where he was during the Soviet invasion of Novincia. Working for the 2nd Pavilo as a naval officer, he was among the leadership that strategically placed naval fleets just shy of Soviet waters, as well as examining intelligence gathered from clandestine agents and subsurface vessels in USR.
Along with Thatcher he also recalled where he was when Stalin died. He was getting informed on the treacherous process it is to become the Doyen. A man opened the door and said "Stalin's dead." He remembered a gaping smile on everyone in the room, and a rowdy party that took place right after everyone had confidence that Stalin was truly gone."

He saw Doyen Bournetsfi's signature at the bottom, his successor.

"We can't forget how much we have fought and overcome, Empress. I am still getting filled in on with whats going on, but even if Stalins death wasn't of our doing, if it hadn't been for this document, Mundus would be a different place. I'm honored to be apart of this historic moment."

"I am happy to be back, Empress," Doyen Alea said, "we are getting back on our feet more rapidly than I imagined. Currently, we are undergoing a few tweaks in our "standard operating procedure". My cabinet is working diligently on getting Novincia up to speed with the rest of Mundus. We plan to evolve greatly. My workers are starting to call it "The Big Leap", though this evolution doesn't have a formal name. I've been darting around the Domsily and the capital all week. This gathering, however, is a tremendous step towards our goals, the biggest one we've made in a long time. I understand tensions are high right now, and if we were to intervene on these tensions right now, we would probably be laughed at, in my opinion."

"It's great to finally see you, Prime Minister, as well as you, Lord Cornwallis. Funny how we have worked so well together but have never been introduced before. I have a bad habit of being quiet. I plan to become more involved with foreign leaders now that we're back. This is Mr. Vicente, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, you can blame him for us not meeting," Alea nudged John, as he faked a smile to the Doyen. "Pleasure to see you, Prime Minister," John said as he reached for a handshake.

"Prime Minister," the Doyen said, "let me just say I have always admired the Tytorian Kingdom. Your architecture is brilliant. Personally, I am a fan of historic cathedrals, especially Tytorian cathedrals. I will have to visit one day, perhaps you could give me a tour."

Doyen Alea and Mr. Vicente neared the entrance to Pyrena Castle. The both of them could not help but feel nervous about meeting with the Rokkenjiman leaders after their period of silence. Nevertheless they were both optimistic and eager for productivity.

"Sir, look." Mr. Vicente pointed out the window for the Doyen to see one of the flags outside. "Ah, the CSTO flag. I don't know about you John, but that flag brings me great comfort. I'm excited." They smiled at each other. The two were grateful Novincia was making a grand opening to the world in so little time. They felt they had accomplished so much, yet so much we yet to be done.

They exited the vehicle, both dressed in suits, including the Doyen, which was unusual as all Doyens dress in their traditional gowns when meeting international leaders. This was a subtle, yet loud statement that accompanied Novincia's steps toward modernization. He still, however, had the Seal of Novincia pinned to his collar. The size of Pyrena Castle struck them. "I hope we don't get lost," the Doyen said. "I'm here to prevent that, sir." Gregory McKenna awaited for the Novincian delegates to reach the top of the stairs. As they reached the top, Mr. McKenna bowed. "Welcome to Rokkenjima, we are very excited to have you here. How was your trip?" McKenna asked. "It was fine, Mr. McKenna. We are very excited to be here."
"Oh yes, it's an honor," John added, "shall we go in?"
"Right this way, sir. I will take you to the Green Sitting Room. Her Majesty will be happy to see you." McKenna said with a smile.

"My God, this place is massive! This is like the Domsily times ten!" Mr. Vicente exclaimed.
"Thank you, Mr. Vicente. A lot of history is here, it is one of the Empire's gems."
The two turned a corner and opened a door, and there sat Beatrice Anselmo, Empress of Rokkenjima.

Lieutenant Alea stands on the edge of the NNS Bournetsfi, Novincias massive aircraft carrier, in the middle of the Sea of Kyne. The waters are white, perfect for a swim call. Alea will be swimming, but this is not a swim call. He is about to undergo his 3rd phase in training to become apart of Mundus' most feared aquatic force- TRIDENT GROUP. This phase of training is called "Sea Week", where all TG candidates must exhibit total confidence in swimming. Failing Sea Week would mean a roll back to Day 1 of TG training, and that would mean undergoing the infamous "Fire Week" again, where the attrition rate for candidates is well above 60%.

Lt. Alea, 26 years old, dons his SCUBA gear and prepares to leap 60 feet into the bone chilling waters. The instructors double check to make sure all candidates properly donned their gear. "Boys, this will be your only attempt at this! So make it count! When I say three, extend your legs and jump! Do not hit the ship, not only will you probably die but our precious SCUBA gear will have to be replaced!" Alea looked to his side to see Lt. Doziz, a friend he had made since the beginning of Fire Week. "This is it." Alea said under his breathing apparatus. Noziz glanced and grinned, looking back down to the leap.

"One, two, three! Jump jump jump!"

Alea jumped and felt the weight of the gear shift towards his neck. He freefalled for what seemed like forever, never looking down, only toward the horizon. He splashed in the water and felt his mask slip, however swiftly fixing it and began to swim away from the Bournetsfi. The cold waters of Kyne were unforgiving and pierced through his suit, but he kept on swimming. When surfacing, he saw Noziz face down, unresponsive. "Noziz! What's wrong?" he called. No answer. He swam toward his friend, and an instructor leaped into the water to help as well. Alea got to where Noziz was and lifted his face out of the water. His mask had been shaken off his head, and he looked as if he was lifeless. "Alea! Bring him to the latter!" Without hesitation, Alea dragged Noziz to the side of the boat 70 feet, meeting an instructor to hoist him up. "Go complete the evolution, we got it from here." he was ordered. And he did.

Later, Alea would find out Noziz suffered a punctured lung and was airlifted to a Novincian Hospital, however, he would die before the helicopter reached Novincian territorial waters.

Casualties were common in TG training. It was hard, ruthless, and comparable to hell. Only the strong survive, and the weak minded go home. But Lt. Alea did not expect his own friend to be apart of the statistic. Throughout the rest of his training he would bear in mind that Noziz was counting on him to complete it, and so he did. Lieutenant Alea would be assigned to TRIDENT GROUP 2, also known as SEA EAGLE and serve for 10 years in the Navy.

"Hello there, Chris." Mr. Vagin walked into the Doyens study with a cup of coffee and an envelope. "Mr. Vagin, as much as I'd like to be called 'Chris', you know the rules, in the Domsily I am to be referred as Doyen." Uri sipped his coffee with a grin. "Oh! My apologies your highness!" Alea laughed. "Good to see you Mr. Vagin, how's it going?" The Doyen sat across from Uri as he set his cup of coffee down. "Pretty hectic, sir. The 2nd Pavilo is, as you know, remodeling everything. I'm just letting them do what they want. It's almost as if my position is useless." He grabbed the envelope and slid it to the Doyen. "That's our plan. We're gutting our military and putting in more modern things. This will take lots of money so I will have to ask for a slight increase in our budget. But this will be sustainable, and a great investment, I assure you. You and I both know the importance of a strong military." The Doyen looked at the envelope and placed it under his butt to read later. "You know, I haven't really asked you about your military days, Mr. Vagin." Uri nodded, "Well they are certainly not comparable to what you did, but I think I did an honorable service, I mean, I am here...so.." The Doyen smirked, "I was just thinking about my days in the service, before you came in." Uri cocked his old head and asked "Anything I'm allowed to hear?" Alea laughed and got up with a sigh. "I didn't do much honestly. My days with the the TG's were mostly admin work. I was a war machine being forced to input data and push pencils. Every once in awhile we were deployed but only to make sure we didn't get complacent." Uri thought over his days in the service during the World War, as General of the Novincian Army he deployed to the front lines and lead thousands of men during the Novincian invasion of Themata, which would later be known as Operation Colossal Ajax. "It's not about what you did, it's about what you signed up to do. And that, my Lord, was to give your life for this nation without thinking twice." Alea smiled. "Besides, look at yourself today, the TG's didn't just teach you how to kill someone 6 different ways. You're running a nation now, a Kingdom." Alea cut him short, "Oh stuff it, old man, if I had a nickel every time I heard that I'd have enough money to give you your budget you're asking for." Uri smiled and walked toward the doors, "I just came by to clue you in what's going on, and... also as an excuse to get out of that place." The Doyen was fixing himself a cup of coffee, "Well you're welcome to use this place as a refuge, if you'd like. I have to get my bags packed. John and I are traveling to Pyrena Castle. We were invited by the Empress herself. "Well why wasn't I invited?" Uri asked with a fake sad face. "Well I don't want the military guy coming with me. People will think I'm some kind of dictator. Plus, you'll probably embarrass me." Uri held in a chuckle. "I like to drink before meeting people, it helps me loosen up," Uri said as he felt for his flask in his breast pocket. "You're lucky you're my favorite cabinet member, old man." The Doyen exited his study.

Mr. Vicente was waiting by the door with the Doyeness, Deborah Alea. "All packed up, sir?" he asked. "Just some toiletries and I'll be good to go." Deborah pulled him to the side, whispering "I have good news." Her eyes lit up and her smiled widened. "Honey, can it wait?" Deborah strengthened her grip on his arm, "No, this is big." Chris looked at John, who was just as confused. "One moment."

They went into the study to see Uri frantically putting his flask away. "Your Highness, forgive me I-", he was cut short by Chris. "Step outside Uri, just for a moment." Uri shuffled toward the door and closed it carefully. He walked away to speak with Mr. Vicente.

"Honey, sit down, now I know we haven't had a conversation about it, but, it's too late for that anyway. I'm excited and I hope you will be too." Chris looked into his wifes eyes baffled. He had no idea what she needed a quiet room for. "Deb, what is this about? Tell me." Deb held Chris' hands together and leaned toward his ear. "

"I'm pregnant."

The Monarchy of Novincia
Office of the Doyen of Novincia

Dear Empress Beatrice,

It is with great honor and privilege I inform you that I will be more than happy to attend the gathering.

Novincia and Rokkenjima has a pleasant history of cooperation, trust, and friendship. For years we have maintained this friendship, and it is considered second nature to refer to you and your people, Empress, as one of our closest allies. As all others who have ruled Novincia before me, Doyen Alea, I will continue to keep this friendship alive and sustainable. Novincia has been silent for quite awhile, my sincere apologies for being dormant, but it is time we revamp our nation and end our "comatose" to become a global power as we once were. I am very excited to see what Novincia can offer on the global scale as we once did many years ago.

I, Doyen Alea, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs John Vicente will be arriving at the gathering expeditiously. We are very happy and grateful for this opportunity to reunite with you as well as our Tytorian and Dartfordian friends.

Very respectfully,

Doyen Christian Alea
Doyen of the Monarchy of Novincia

Introduction
The Monarchy of Novincia is a parliamentary Monarchy located in southeastern Cotf Aranye. Its coast is the Novincian Bight which marks its territorial waters from the Sea of Kyne. It was founded by Thematan colonists in 1392, and originally settled as a penal colony. It is a member-state of the Cross-Straits Union and Cross-Straits Treaty Organization. Novincia has 6 provinces- Zivoi, Sakta, Vodi, Ruda, Poledni, and Brevna. Its capital, which is located in central Zivoi, is Iosef and has a staggering population of 14 million. It is renown for its expansive mining and petroleum extraction industry.
It has always been a parliamentary Monarch since its independence from the Thematan Empire (1392 to 1412). The 20 year reign of the Empire was full of slavery and cruelty. Sunlitians and criminals were brought to the colony to clear off land and construct government buildings. It now is a composite of many nationalities and ethnicity. It has a GDP of 30,000 and the currency is the Nov (₦). Its flag is consists of the Royal Symbol and two red banners on either side of it.

Etymology
Novincia derives from the Tuparnaqian and Akechetan Sun God No'vin, but it was originally named after the Sunlitian Air God Utro. This was changed after the integration of natives during the Quasso Era. The national language of Novincia, Thesse, is a mixture of ancient Thematan, English, and many tribal languages.

Prehistoric Era
During the prehistory era of Novincia, tribespeople inhabited the the area (see Native People). These tribes lived off the land by hunting prey, gathering berries, and trading goods with neighboring tribes. Pottery artifacts that have been carbon-dated suggest the natives have been present on the land now known as Novincia for over 100,000 years. It is unknown when the natives first arrived on the land, or the route where they migrated to. Agriculture did not exist between the tribes until Ardian explorers introduced it to them.

Principle Era (1390 - 1412)
The Cotf Aranye empire of Themata claims responsibility for the discovery of Novincia in 1389. Themata was an ancient empire located in Cotf Aranye some 500 years ago. It's remains are rare and the culture itself is shrouded in mystery. Novincia is one of the only nations that still use/perform Thematan culture, and even today the customs are dying out. Thematan Emperor Vivic V sent high-ranking Admiral Atrox Bol to explore the coastal area. The voyage across the Sea of Kyne took 5 months, so a year passed before Atrox and his crew returned to the Thematan Empire. Vivic V decided to use the land as a penal colony to extradite criminals. Atrox, along with his men, hauled 1,300 criminals across the Sea of Kyne. The men, who were now slaves, were ordered to clear the land and use the timber to erect infrastructure. Over the course of 3 years, roughly 30,000 slaves were brought to Novincia. Atrox had made 6 voyages across the Sea of Kyne, but on his 7th return to Themata, his vessel named The Pendant sank in the Rokkenjiman Sea. It is said that he accidentally hit a coral reef.

When Vivic V was notified of his best Admirals demise, he ordered a new Captain to be in charge of the extraditions. Admiral Cinir Illea took charge and hauled the last of 20,000 criminals to Novincia. At this time, 50,000 slaves along with 12,000 Thematan Government Staff members were present in Novincia. In the year 1395, Admiral Cinir offered to bring the Sunlitian people of northern Themata to take the place of criminals. This was approved by Vivic V and was performed for 7 years. The population of Novincia was now 100,000, with more than half of the population being slaves. In addition to the large population, approximately 250 square miles had been colonized. The settlement Vodi City was a port city, and was built entirely by criminal and Sunlitian slaves.

In 1410, some ideology crept into the slaves, and the idea of independence spread like wildfire among them. They rebelled by using makeshift weapons and farming utensils. The rebellion did not last long, but the now freed slaves warded off the Thematan colonizers to retreat back to their Thematan mainland. But with limited food supplies, they died of starvation and disease while attempting to navigate their way back to Themata to reunite with their loved ones. The now freed slaves called their land Utrir, named after the Sunlitian mythological God Utro. The settlement Vodi, now vacant of Thematan officials, was filled with the former slaves, and a government was formed. Since Themata was an absolute Monarch following a parliamentary system, the government of Utrir was too. Some criminals that were taken from prisons were corrupt politicians, and they took the role of setting up the government. The leader of Utrir would be declared a Doyen. Doyenism wasn't apart of Thematan political concepts, so it was a made-up term and method.

The Monarchy of Utrir
The Utrir government was complete after 3 months of appointments, amendments, votes, and elections. The Doyen of Utrir was a Sunlitian man named Kodi, but it is debated. Some historians argue that a Thematan con-artist was the first ruler of Novincia. Utrir was functioning almost perfectly. However, Vivic V noticed that Admiral Cinir had not returned for a full year. Suspicious, he sent a fleet to what is now Utrir. At this time ship technology had improved, thus making the voyage time 3 months instead of the regular 5 months. When they arrived they were taunted and threatened by the Utririans, exclaiming their independence against Themata. Doyen Kodi invited them into his quarters to explain to them what had happened. After hearing the story of their defeat, the Thematans were clueless on what to do. They decided to return to Themata to discuss the situation with Vivic V. When they informed their emperor about the independence, Vivic decided to release his power on Utrir, and recognize it an independent, sovereign Kingdom. On October 14th, 1412, Vivic V personally went to Utrir to see for himself the Kingdom, and agreed to let the Kingdom prosper on its own. This is when Utrit was officially known across a global scale. Thematan cartographers reluctantly agreed to plot the new nation on their maps. It is unknown why Vivic V decided to release his grasp on an Ardian colony. Historians speculate the journey across the Sea of Kyne was too treacherous and would be best to invest in nearby lands to colonize. Because of Vivic V's generosity a statue was erected in 1820 of him in Iosef Square.

Quasso Era (1412 - 1800)
The discovery of the natives began the Quasso Era. Utririan explorers went upstream of the Dosily river to map out their new land, and encountered the Akechetan tribe. Through negotiation, the Utririans introduced themselves and invited their tribespeople to mingle with them. This encounter was not the last. The explorers discovered as many as 200 tribes while trekking the lands, and a majority of the tribes agreed to be subject to the newcomers. In a matter of 6 years, the first complete map of Novincia was drawn. Many natives became politicians, such as Akilæ Uwao of the Tuparnaq tribe, who became the most notable House of Commons member during the Quasso Era.

In respect of being given the lands of the tribespeople, the nation of Utrir was renamed Novincia after the Akechetan and Tuparnaq Sun God No'vin. Many Novincians settled upstream of the Dosily river, making villages and roads on their way. Iosef was founded in 1422 as a port city that exported minerals and timber from the north to Vodi City. Through many years, other cities grew around Novincia. Iosef, however, experienced rapid growth, and by the end of the 15th century, it became the largest city in Novincia. Doyen Kodi died of old age around 1500, and a new Doyen was elected- Doyen Garrin. Garrin concentrated on the infrastructure more than anything, and he became best friends with the Lord High Steward. In 1505 he stated that Iosef should be the capital of Novincia, and ordered businesses to move to the urban growth pinnacle. Upstream was Kranin, formerly a native camp that belonged to the Hiawatha tribe. It was quickly governed and grew as well. The Dosily river was a major shipping route. Kranin had a lot of timber and minerals, a surplus of the two resources caused them to ship them to Iosef and to Vodi. Many other villages lined the banks of the Dosily, making it the most populous region in Novincia. This region is now known as Zivoi. Now that the new capital was Iosef, the Monarch moved to the city and ordered architects from all over to erect Zivoi Castle- the living quarters of the Doyen and the Royal Council. Also, the Domsily was built during this time. It was quite noticeable Novincia was growing at a rapid pace. The population milestone of 50 million was reached by the 19th century. Over this time period, 10 Monarchs had been elected, ruled, and died.

Industrial Era (1800-1925)
During the turn of the century, technological advancements in agriculture, medicine, and transportation boosted the population and economic growth. At this time international trade was a norm, and guns were introduced to the military and had become mass produced. Cars were also introduced at this time, and during the pioneering of automobile transportation, other machinery was created and thus beginning the search for oil. Oil had been discovered and protected during the Quasso Era. Explorers thought of it as a "vital liquid". Now, it was used in vehicles. Oil fields were mapped out, and Brevna was proved extremely useful. Train tracks were built all over Novincia to ship coal, oil, and other resources. This made other parts of Novincia grow, instead of the Dosily river. Brevna had oil ducts scattered everywhere, and oil mining became a successful business to invest in. In 1876, Hedgehog Oil Corporation began to have a national and global presence. It became the wealthiest and most expansive oil company in Novincia, and still holds that title today. The Novincian Stock Exchange (NSE) was introduced and built in Iosef, and thus creating the First Bank of Novincia (FBN). This economic growth lasted until January 23rd, 1972 with a war on alcohol.

In 1921, the Legislature passed a law that prohibited the use, distribution, and creation of alcoholic beverages. This Law was motivated by the increased number of alcohol deaths and use during the past 10 years. Many businesses that sold and/or made alcohol were shutdown, but some continued to sell against the Law. This was the cause of many cartel clashes against other cartels and police. Most of the alcohol was made in eastern Sakta and Brevna. Some natives practiced the use of alcohol as a tradition, and continued to make and consume alcohol while hiding in the Bratkan Mountains.

The War on Alcohol had an affect on economic growth. The Legislature did not realize how vital alcohol sales were to Novincian economy. This made the prosperity plateau, and an inevitable conflict occur.

The 1985 War on Alcohol
During the 80's, a Civil War, fueled by the prohibition of alcohol, was begun by assaults and arson against government and civil service buildings in eastern Novincia. The Brevnan alcohol cartels waged war against the police, and soon the National Army. The war was located on the Brevna and Sakta border. The Conservative party of Novincia gained power during this time, and voted to fund the 2nd Pavilo even greater. This, however, was opposed by the Liberal Party of Novincia, and urged the funds to be regulated and not overspent. A large hole was created in the defense budget responsible by the Conservatives, and taxes were raised along with gasoline prices to pay it back. Many protests were caused by this tax increase, and the public pointed its finger at the dominant Conservative party. During this short time of war, Dartfordia supported the Liberal party by loaning money to help with the financial turmoil. They also transported troops to help fight the alcohol cartels. By 2 years, the war was declared over, and the overspending of Conservatives were filled and forgiven. To thank Dartfordia for their helping hand, a Knighting Sword was forged and gifted to them. To resolve the issue, Parliament dissolved the prohibition law, replacing it with an alcohol consumer limit.

Modern Era (1985 - Present)
Now, Novincia has a significant presence in the world. It has forged relations with many nations, and gained CSTO and CSU membership and plenty more. It has become apart of the interconnectedness that is Mundus and continues to prosper. With over 600 years of opulence, Novincia proves to be a strong power in the world. The government remains as it was when once slaves overthrew their cruel rulers, and the spirit of the Novincian people is also still alive and well. Novincia is home to some of the wealthiest businesses in the world, and the origin of many aspiring athletes, celebrities, professors, and heroes. Novincia is a nation that strives to advance, prosper, and move forward.

Hello,

I've recently registered, and I'd like to introduce myself. I would like to keep my personal info to myself, however I look forward to cooperate with all. I was on this forum before as another nation but work got in the way, as well as my family. I decided to take a break, however, lately, I've had so much free time I decided to dedicate a little to here. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot as well.

I will try to be online as much as possible, but due to the nature of my job I will be unavailable for months at a time. Please forgive me on this, I will try to stay active as much as possible.

Thanks!
