Following a recent application to join the CNN by the Krimeon an official press release has been issued.

Quote

The CNN was formed through the bonds of friendship, of four nations coming together through shared interests, mutual respect and a willingness to act as sometimes critical friends. While we do not rule out adding additional members, precedent was set when the Ecclesiastical State joined, we do insist that each nation seeking admission abides by the spirit in which the CNN was formed. As such when the Krimeon applied we have been forced at the moment to deny their request for membership. This shall, as with any application, be reviewed periodically.

Following the recent victory of the Commonwealth of the Unified Iwi at the rugby world cup and the unexpected 4th Place finish of Lodja the CNN have determined that they shall revive the old CIS tradition of a multi-national touring side. As such the CNN Barbarians will be undertaking a tour of Bakkermaya seeing them take on the Bakkermayan national side in a best of three series. The team also are currently searching for two one off games for the end of the Bakkermayan tour and a search for such opponents shall begin.

Former East Moreland, and now Lodjain Head Coach, Sir Clyde Woodward will be the first of what is hoped is many CNN Barbarian coaches and has said, "We shall not automatically take on the first teams who ask, it has to be a move that serves a purpose. We see the Barbarians as a chance to spread rugby and do some good at the same time." All revenues created by the new team in terms of TV deals, merchandising etc shall be donated to charities across Mundus with JET being identified as one good cause.

Starting on the 19th July 2019 the armed forces of East Moreland, Ui Cenneslaig, The Unified Iwi and Lodja will be undertaking military exercises in the Alucard. The exercises shall feature a scenario of a Cenneg and Maori task force attacking a Lodjain island. The exercises shall last five days and at the end of which an invitation has been extended for Bakkermaya and Paracambian forces to join.

It is our hope that during this time the inconvenience to shipping is limited.

As of 10am local time on the 30th March 2021 the Queendom of Lodja experienced an attack upon its sacred Isle of the Goddess. The aim of this attack was to remove Queen Klara from her role as the leader of the Queendom and to establish a new form of government via what can only be described as a military coup. The perpatrator of this attack was Leopold Hamsik, the husband of Queen Klara. The attack on the Queen was unsuccessful however Leopold's forces did manage to abduct 6 month old Prince Isaak and six members of the Lodjan Conclave. In addition 12 members of Palace staff were killed. In addition to forces of Her Majesty Queen Klara's protection detail memebers of the Cenneg and East Moreland Armed Forces retook the Isle and evacuated Queen Klara to a place of safety. Soon after an East Moreland helicopter was fired upon by the Lodjain Naval ship HDMS Morelander, this ship is now considered "rouge".

In the hours that followed Leopold Hamsik declared himself provisional leader of a fictious nation calling itself the "Monarchy of Lodja" this is not recognised under the constitution of the Queendom nor does such a notion enjoy the support of the Lodjain people. As such we call on all nations to place sanctions upon Leopold Hamsik and any officers, individuals seen to be within his ranks.

Lodja's CNN allies, East Moreland, Ui Cenneslaig and the Unified Iwi stand united in their support of Lodja and shall, if requested, send military support to ensure the rouge ship and anyone standing under Hamsik's banner do not succeed.

FOOD STANDARDS ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting at 00:01 (East Albion Time) on the 1st January 2022 a new food standards system will be implemented for all food products entering the CNN nations. Any items not conforming to what will be called the "Farm to Fork Standard (F2FS)" will be banned from entering these nations for sale or processing. While full details of the F2FS can be found out www.cnn.org.uc/foodstandards the main points will be as follows.

* Animals must not be routinely given growth hormone or anti-biotics.
* Minimum standards of animal husbandry will be monitored and recorded. Vets must sign off on such information prior to export
* Bans of certain chemicals used in production of crops
* Minimum standards for the more ethical slaughter of animals.
* Clear labelling of food products in terms of ingredients and nutritional content.
* Ban on certain additives.

Further changes to F2FS will likely be made in the future as new techniques, technology and scientific understanding impact our understanding and appreciation of best practices.

With our colleagues in the Unified Iwi having failed to complete their annual accounts they are required to present a fully set of audited accounts and meet their share of funding to associated bodies with the CNN. We are sure this is simply an administrative error and we look forward to this being completed and the CNN family returning to full strength.
