The King scribbled things down in his notebook but didn't respond to them instead changing the nature of the conversation as they made a turn to begin sailing parallel to the old town walls. "You know this was once, according to legend, the site at which our God of War, Jekar, made his home. The story tells of how he used an axe larger than any man who has ever lived to clear huge swatches of forest, and then he built a fort out of the biggest thickest oaks. Right up there." he pointed to where the more modern stone castle was. "As a child I remember standing on the old ramparts trying to see any place where the trees looked newer than those around it, I guess even at age 6 I was a history geek, I still am" he mused. The boat began entering a series of locks. "You ever used one" David asked as he scrambled to the toe path, "Amazing engineering for its time, takes the water from where we are now, lets it flow into that bit after the gate. We then open them and sail in" he was turning a wheel to release the water. "We then repeat it at the other end and one lock at a time we climb the hill" David waited for the water levels to equalise and then unlocked the giant wooden gate allowing the boat to sail in. "They keep saying we should replace it with something more modern, but I think its rather cool having a piece of historical technology still working" Four locks later they were at the foot of the castle and a short walk later in the courtyard. It was a nice summer day and the King had arranged a table outside.

"Now I've had chance to think about what you said on the boat." The King turned things back to business as he swung his jacket off his shoulders and placed it across the back of the chair continuing to talk as he rolled up his sleeves. "As you probably know, my nation has a rather militaristic culture, service to the military is mandatory for everyone during their life and our religions highest instruction is to protect those who can not protect themselves. This has lead us to be rather active globally because of the inaction of others. Having friends around Mundus is therefore useful but I have to say I worry when people discuss militaristic connections before others. When nations form military alliances what you are doing is in effect asking if I would be willing to send Morelanders to fight and die alongside your people with no questions asked. Clearly that is something I am not going to do. Nations like Seaforth or Ui Cenneslaig then yes, we've a long history of co-operation and friendship built up along the lines of mutual trust, those existed long before military ties. Now that being said there is still things we can do, I for one would be interested in forming some cultural, academic and trade links between our nations. Any agreement could of course include officer secondments but not on a large scale. How does that sound as a starting point?"

ELWES TO ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT

Today the President of Zimalia responded to offers of help from various nations across Mundus following incidents involving the Borland Seperatists, whom he gave land to in Zimalia several years ago. The Zimalian, who seized power in 1993 following a coup against the government of Zimalia who was seen as pro-Afolayan[1] while being prejudice to the other three tribes. In recent days the Minister of Defence from Nya Aland confirmed she is asking her nations government to send a squadron of fighters, as is Paracambi. Meanwhile it is understood that the Tamoran Foreign Minister is due to meet President Elwes in the coming days to talk about other potential support.

The President first however spoke of the issue of the Principality of Northern Borland and the statements from Rokkenjima. "The Principality is a small sweet place. The people there are nice you know. They have no harm towards anyone or anything. I visit often to help the children there read, its a joyous moment in my life. Would I cast children into the arms of terrorists? Of course I wouldn't, children are sweet innocent things and deserve protection and care. I'd remind the world that when Ebola ravaged our nation and our medical facilities, which we are still rebuilding from Afolayan corruption, couldn't cope. Those nations that consider themselves leaders of the world, your East Moreland's, your Rokkenjimas stayed home no doubt swimming in their mountains of gold. Meanwhile the Borlanders turned up and I feared the worst, a terror group as defined by the world coming to take advantage at our time of weakness. Instead they take in the poor, the sick, the needy. They take, I am embarassed to say, better care of them than I can. I am a proud man but I have to say we couldn't protect those people, the Borlanders could and as a proud warrior I must accept the shame that I failed my people while Kyle Barren didn't. In days of old that moment would have seen me dragged from my tent and beaten to death. It is only fair a man who can protect the people be given their trust and that is what we did. Is that not a noble beginning to a nation? I granted Kyle Barren all the rights to establish laws, impose taxes and all other sovereign duties because he earned them."

Elwes went on to discuss the current threats," Rokkenjima talk of military action. We have twice experienced illegal attacks from Morelanders, no one said a thing. This is like a red flag to a bull, now every nation think we can be invaded and our children slaughtered. Rokkenjima seem to be the next to take a turn. We shall not bend to their pressure. We owe a debt of blood to the Principality following the Ebola outbreak and we also must defend our soil from invasion by a foreign empire. We sadly do not posses a modern expensive military, the Afolayans mismanaged our procurement for decades. To have Nya Aland considering to send aircraft to support us is reassuring. To then see Paracambi's Emperor send help lifted my heart. Next Tamora wish to speak and I am very excited to meet their foreign minister and see what they have to say. I shall look forward to extending our nations warm hospitality to them. Should the Alanders Riksdag send help we would humbly accept. To see possibly three nations stand shoulder to shoulder with us to defend a settlement of less than 5,000 people, none of whom have ever fired a weapon in anger at anyone or anything reaffirms my faith in Mundus after years of having them dashed. I send great greetings to Aland, Paracambi and Tamora, four nation standing against the might of a war crazy Empire."

"I'm sorry Hassan, may I call you Hassan, I prefer Andy myself. I see no need for formality when not in the public eye" he poured the man a glass of water. "I'd like to thank you for your kind words before I begin....and of course for considering co-operation with us, it is a great gamble and we thank you for taking it. Now regarding your recommendations. The first I can't really say it'll work, we are at war with a power that has so many international treaties, organisations and other such pieces of paper on their side that our citizens couldn't hope to win in a conventional war, we've been fighting a guerilla war in the Borland Alps for generations and as much as it pains me to say making no progress. So our army has to do things others would not consider and I am truly sorry trade has been hit, but that was the idea. If we hit nations in the pocket suddenly people are talking about our plight and our cause. When we raid the Alps, attack the illegal army of the Morelanders and sabotage their military no-one says anything. If we stop this approach we risk a return to the old situation. The best I can do there is say that should we be able to come to some kind of....arrangement....we'd do everything possible to avoid your nations interests, but sadly that may not always be possible. Now it is worth remembering our people always keep our word, an oath is a sacred thing to us, look at the attacks. My King promised them and look, exactly on schedule they came."

He thought for a moment. "A Principality needs a Prince, that is my Lord and Master Kyle Barren, my King. You can't just select a new one. As you see the King is not here or he would have welcomed you himself. He isn't here often at all, ask around, and please do feel free to go and explore as we've nothing to hide. The last time he was here was months ago for one day. He leaves the day to day running to his Ministers, so effectively we have already got someone else in charge."

Andrew stood an walked outside waiting for Hassan to follow him. They walked down a dusty street on dirt with coverted shipping containers either side, he suddenly turned right and opened a door. "This is our citizenship department" he picked up a stack of paperwork, "This is the current waiting list for homes here, now if you wish to look through them you'll notice that 99% of them are Zimalians simply taking advantage of our generousity. We're not flooding this place with true blue Borlanders. What Rokkenjima would have you think is that on every corner is a child learning to use a machine gun and make bombs. Visit our school by all means, all you'll find is children squatting on the floor with too many in a class learning to write using a twig in the mud. Is what we're doing here not enough to show the world we do not want war."

Oksana left her mothers contact details and an invite to one of the families villa resorts in Lodja, for what was listed as "a showcase tour for future investments". It would be enough to show that business deals where being considered between a noble family and a foreign investor and so would mean any deal would be sanctioned, that was if the Emperor took up the offer of a visit (OOC-agreed with Libby)

The royal couple made the most of their time in Tamora, it was nice for the King to get away for a few days and it gave his son Hadi chance to experience what is was to be in charge. The King was sure to leave gifts for the servants who had looked after them, a tradition in their own faith and of course along with his wife's formal invite for the Emperor the King handed over an envelope. "A key to our Water Palace it is at your disposal anytime you wish. Bring anyone you wish, consider it as your home. Should you wish to escape for a few days or come on business then feel free. Our home is your home" he shook hands with his host, kissed Alya on the hand and then boarded his own private jet feeling fresh relaxed and hopeful for the future.

Akeel worked at the Laughing Hyena which was just down the road from the airport, practically the first pub you came to as you headed into the city. It wasn't the most pleasant of places but it was home to a clean toilet, cold beer and you didn't get too sick from the kebabs. He had got the job here on the insistance of the Borlanders, they'd given his three sisters and his widowed mother a home and so he was only too happy to help out. His job was simple, hand over messages to people and serve drinks.

As Hassan entered Akeel waited for the drink to be served and then set off beginning to wipe down the tables. As he reached Hassan's table he apologised as he lifted the glasses and wiped down the table, he replaced the beer mat and handed Hassan a pile of napkins, "I'll be out your way now sir....need anything just give a call." he went back to the bar and continued serving drinks. The napkin had a simple message, "you are booked for a safari, Golden Tours, 20 mins name of Clyde" He watched as Hassan finished his drink and then left.

Down the road was Golden Tours, a place full of old battered jeeps and signs advertising a variety of tourist friendly excursions, some to go hunting, some to see natural wonders such as waterfalls and lakes, but the main business was safari's in which they took people out into the wilds to see wild animals in the flesh. As Hassan presented himself a tall blonde haired man, clearly no Zimalian welcomed him. "Mr.Clyde we have a vehicle ready" he said in a heavy Celtic accent. Hassan was shown to a jeep, one of the better ones and the man who introduced himself as Gavin clambered into the drivers seat and set off into the twisty streets of Mogebbe. Soon they were cutting through the brush and before long heading past large farms claiming to be home to various sancturies, Zimalia's economy was becoming more tourist friendly and it was the case that it was often better to protect the animals than blast them with guns.

Soon a feint multi-coloured shape came into view through the heat haze, it got sharper and sharper the closer they got and soon the outline of homes could be seen. A checkpoint on the road formed the border and Gavin was waved straight through. He parked up outside a building marked, "TOWN HALL" and got out picking up Hassan's bags and carrying them in motioning for him to follow. "Mr. Gollings, your guest" Gavin announced as he dropped the bags, collected a brown envelope and disappeared.

"Hello" a middle aged man with thin rimmed glasses and thinning hair stood and extended a hand, "Andrew Gollings, Home Affairs Minister for the Principality of Northern Borland, welcome to our little home" he motioned to a seat opposite. "Please take a seat and tell me why you're here and what we can do for you."

KING SENDS "AID" TO PROTESTORS

It was announced today that King Akakois and his family are sending what has been described as aid to protestors in Tamora who are campaigning to get Dilara Haghighi freed from a death sentence in Slava Lavosk. The announcement comes after  The Supreme Ayatollah made a speech calling for people to see the protests as a duty. Crown Prince Hadi relayed his fathers decision saying.

"My father has recently returned from a very joyous honeymoon with my step-mother Oksana to Tamora. As always the people there were friendly, hospitable and couldn't do enough to make my families stay enjoyable. My father, and the rest of our family see it as a duty to support these noble people in their campaign. As such we shall be instructing our embassy staff to take drinks and food to those protesting. Additionally our staff will be providing pre-paid Travelcards for 25,000 people in the capital. It is our hope these will help people get out and protest. The Ambassador will joining the protests in the capital and urges and Seleucid present in Tamora to join him. It is vital we help support this poor girl claim her human rights. My father will also be providing headscarves in the Tamoran flag for many women, if the weather is warm it is vital people take precautions. I will be praying that these protests are successful."

It is also reported that the King and his wives have sent messages of support to Dilara Haghighi but it is unconfirmed whether these have been received.

Two hours after the announcement was made, Queen Katerina, the King's third wife, accompanied by the wife of Crown Prince Hadi, Princess Korina, and the wife of Prince Heydar, Princess Chryssa made their way to the Slavia Lavosk embassy in Ipsus where around 5,000 people joined them for a candlelight vigil.

I think the stats are for realism purpose. In a ooc sense they should be reality, however your more than welcome to in RP use the 100% figure as propaganda. Just for example if in reality a nation had a really low literacy rate they'd be precluded from having a super high tech society, likewise if poor. The stats here are more for kind of realism checking purposes. What you tell your plebs is up to you.

BINYAMIN ELWES

Born:- May 12, 1959
Place of Birth:- Entalia
Tribe:- Berko

Short Title:- President Binyamin Elwes

Official Title:-  His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal, Head Physician and Doctor Binyamin Elwes Hero of the People, Lord of All the Beasts of Mundus and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the unjust and protector of the people

[big]Biography[/big]
[/color]

Growing up Binyamin was the eldest son in a family of six childen (4 boys, 2 girls). He was born in a small farming community in which his parents owned a small farm which was lucky enough to have its own mill, as such the family received a steady income from members of the local community for the use of the mill. Binyamin had a close bond with his mother who sadly died while giving birth to her sixth child, a daughter called Adjoa, when Binyamin was ten year old, even to this day he has a very poor relationship with Adjoa.

Binyamin attended very little school but was considered to be quiet intelligent by the staff at a local missionary school he attended three days a week from the age of six to ten.

In 1975 Binyamin was recruited into the Berko 3rd Infantry and as he had the basic ability to read and write soon found himself assigned to be a battlefield medic. He saw action in various tribal uprising earning the Silver Star, the nations 2nd highest medal for bravery ,for recovering injured comrades in the middle of a fire fight. In 1980 he was assigned to the 1st Zimalian Field Hospital where he was trained to be an Army Doctor, he completed his training in 1985 and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Zimalian Pathfinder, an elite regiment. He then saw service in some of the most fierce tribal uprisings quickly winning a 2nd Silver Star and earning a reputation as being an outstanding soldier, however a less outstanding doctor.

By 1990 he was a Major and had proved himself to be a very efficient administrator as well as effective soldier. In addition to his military duties he had become an advisor to the Minister of Defence at the time. While visiting the Senate for meetings he became disgusted with how prejudice the Afolayan dominated government was, the turning point in his life coming at a planning meeting in 1991. During a meeting to discuss the government response to a series of attacks by a well co-ordinated Lekan Militia he noticed how regiments made up of Afolayan soldiers were not used while regiments from the other tribal groups were given dangerous operations yet given inferior equipment compared to their Afolayan comrades. Determined to end such discrimination Binyamin began forming a plan.

By 1993 he had formed a network known as the Unity and Freedom Movement (UFM), this organisation was made up of army officers loyal to Binyamin and drawn from each tribe. With former President Blessings Umbecki out of the nation the UFM launched their coup, key military installations and government facilities were seized in a well co-ordinated series of morning raids. There was little bloodshed and on 6th June 1993, just 48 hours after Umbecki had left the country the head of the armed forces, Vice-President and Speaker of the Senate made an announcement stating Elwes was the new President.

SINCE BECOMING PRESIDENT

In the first few years following his coup Elwes kept up a facade of democracy and radically changed the nations political make up. Many Zimalian's saw immediate change as tax rates, social welfare, job opportunities and education all improved as Elwes tapped into the funds that the Afolayan tribe had squirrelled away for decades. However as the money ran out he found it harder to appease the population. Since around 1999 the nation has become more oppressive and the economy has remained stagnant, meanwhile Elwes and his family and friends appear to live in apparent luxury. By keeping the military staffed by members of his UFM and ensuring that the military are well looked after he has managed to keep the population in order. Remarkably he is seen as a hero by his people for ending the centuries of inter tribal warfare between private militia's , he achieved this by a series of mass arrests and executions and by harshly punishing any tribe which steps out of line, including his own.

INFORMATION ON THE GOVERNMENT
[/b][/big][/color]

Following a military coup in 1993 Binyamin Elwes seized control of the nation. Prior to the coup the nation had been governed by a President elected through a popular vote. The President worked alongside a Senate elected by the people every four years. This system became dominated by the Afolayan tribe who appeared to be favoured in all matters of policy and in some cases the smaller tribes had a genuine feeling of persecution.

Following the coup Elwes installed himself as Acting President and promised elections and a new system of government. In 1994 he unveiled the Tribal Council, this organisation would see each tribe elect four individuals to represent them and work alongside the President who would be elected by popular vote every five years. At the same time he announced that the military would approve the candidates to ensure they had not been part of the previous regime. This move received broadly popular support from the people who believed this would make politics in Zimalia more equitable.

The elections were held, however only those who were loyal directly to Elwes were found to be eligible to stand, while Elwes was himself elected President in a landslide. With the new Tribal Council packed with his supporters Elwes tabled a motion to make himself President for life, which passed with no opposition.

Since 1999 the nation has experienced elections as promised every five years, however in the 2014 election the voters for the Afolayan representatives were presented with a list of just four individuals. Elections have become nothing more than a paper exercise.

The Tribal Council exists as a mere façade of democracy and in reality is nothing more than a gathering of the Presidents friends who occasionally offer advice on matters of importance.

Political Parties are banned in Zimalia.

Since the creation of this system the amount of inter-tribal squabbling and violence that existed in politics for many centuries has ended. The Afolayan tribe no longer appear to be favoured with one Zimalian exile stating that Elwes is an "Equal Opportunities Oppressor"

All media is owned and operated by the state.

The screen showed a simple table, a cup of steaming black coffee in a smart white cup sat on a saucer. A silver spoon sat neatly to one side and two packets of sugar bearing the brand name coffee shop sugar. The camera panned up and a man wearing a smart suit came into view, it was Kyle Barren. "Good evening Mundus" he began, "Tonight I'd like to share something with you, some important information. You see we're about to play a little game that I like to call "How many people die today?". Now the rules are simple we have planted these packets across Mundus in coffee shops, some big brand names, some little family owned cafes, practically anywhere that has sugar packets essentially." He picked them up and began pouring them into the coffee, using the silver spoon to delicately stir the cup. Once it had been dissolved he smartly tapped the spoon twice on the edge of the cup before carefully placing it back. " So far sounds rather fun doesn't it" the camera panned to the side where a man was pushed in wearing a hood over his head, it was removed much in the same way a waiter at a top class restaurant removed a dome covering a gourmet meal. It revealed the face of Richard James, one of the founders of SmartWar but who had sold his share of the company just before they'd hit the big time. "Mr.James has been our guest for a few weeks now haven't you" The man nodded. "We've enjoyed rather a few coffees as he's told us how to make our very own pet SwarmBots, lovely little creatures, brilliant for exploring Luna or carrying sarin. Imagine how bad he feels, betrayed by a former friend who buys your ideas and company for a measly EM£200,000 and now Martin Dawson earns millions." The man looked embrassed as he took the offered coffee. "Please enjoy while I explain what we've been doing" A man placed a similar cup down next to Barren who poured milk in and stirred it with its own spoon before taking a sip, soon after Richard James did likewise. "You see Richard here was paid by us to build us a squadron of our own swarmbots, once we got the knowledge we added some more to the ranks and added our own little Sarin tanks, cost us a pretty penny but they are impressive and now we known the secret."

Richard began wheezing and gasping, Kyle carried on talking, "This brings us back to our game, over the next few days we'll keep score, and you....and by that I mean the rest of Mundus.....you try and stop it happening. Now clearly I hold the key to you saving lives." By now Richard was grasping at Kyle's arm and fell from his chair the camera followed him down. "Now, I think in about 3,000 packets like the one you saw earlier we've put  Carfentanyl or Remifentanyl. Its a synthetic opioid that is 1000 times more powerful than morphine. Mode of death is is suppresses the respiratory drive to the point you stop breathing. Oh....like that" Kyle pointed to Richard who was flapping around like a fish out of water fighting for breath. "I suspect the contestants wouldn't even get to finish a cup of coffee before they end up like that." Kyle removed a syringe and knelt down. "Should I.....or should I make him number 1." Kyle waited a minute longer and then jabbed Richard with the needle. "Nah, victim number one will be somewhere in Mundus. 3,000 packets, multiple nations, multiple locations, multiple brands......the game is on people. The Game is on" the screen went blank.

BORLANDER ATTACKS PLUNGE SHIPPING INTO CHAOS

Following a recent string of terror attacks by the Borland Separatist movement international shipping is in chaos. A few days ago the Borlanders had managed to smuggle some kind of improvised missile system onto container ships across the world. Targets in The Iwi, East Moreland, Lodja, and Rokkenjiman bases in Dartfordia and Seaforth have been hit with deaths going into the hundreds. It is unclear whether the Borlanders, who believe they are the rightful monarchs of East Moreland, have placed similar devices on other ships around the world.

We spoke to a director of one of the worlds largest shipping companies who said this had the potential to impact the global economy. "Almost all goods are moved by ship in this day and age. If we think that the average ship can carry the equivalent of several thousand containers, and the fact we have around 10,000 container ships circuling the globe that means that at anyone time we have 100,000,000 containers either being moved around the planet or being prepared to be moved. Then we add in things such as oil and gas tankers, cruise ships and grain carriers we're talking hell of a lot of ships. There is no way on Mundus that we can check every single container, it would slow shipping down to such an extent that perishable products would spoil. We now have some docks refusing to take ships without deeper security checks, or we have others being delayed from setting off. Each delayed ship increasing more and more the price of the goods. The person who will foot this bill will be the consumer. We've already heard reports from Tamora that they are taking action and soon I suspect others will. I know the Morelanders have sent more explosive sniffer dogs to ports with the military stepping in to take control of security at their commercial ports. This is a scenario we never thought we would face but now it happening and we need a global response."

There have been warnings of further attacks, with the most recent being a series of explosions that appear to have come from soda cans. Kyle Barren, the self proclaimed King of Borland and the Boreland Folk, posted a video on YouTube talking of the attacks.

"When will people learn. We promise we'll attack and we do. We promise people will die and they do. I'm not playing anymore, every single nation out there is so far denying our right to exist and we are fighting for our very survival. We have to do whatever it takes for our national security, while other nations have conventional militaries we lack that and so this is our war. Our people are denied very basic rights, the right to be recognised as a citizen, we have territory, SeaTower has now existed for three years, our citizens there creating a peaceful existance for themselves, they fish, they sell stamps, coins, replica Borland passports and various other pieces of merchandise. They have not harmed anyone, they have not had to defend themselves and have shown the Borlanders are a people who only wish to be left in peace. The Borlanders in our homeland and the Principality are denied that right and so we are fighting for their rights. I expect these rights to be granted in short order, should the international community fail to grant our people the rights they give their own citizens we'll be forced to resume our fight."

In related news the Republic of Zimalia have placed their military on high alert and President Binyamin Elwes has spoken saying, "Everytime the Borlanders try and focus the worlds attention on their fight for a homeland people like to blame us. Look at what we have achieved, we have given the Borlanders a chance to focus their attention on building a home for themselves and they settled down and built. What happened, the Morelanders obiliterated their home, 34 people killed by East Moreland air strikes that violated our air space, the international community said nothing. The Borlanders returned and began building again. I have visited the Principality many times, they are making it a lovely lovely place and I am proud to have the people there as neighbours. Now as the rest of the Borlanders carry on their campaign for global recognition it is clear they, like the Morelanders, take extreme measures but the lack of scorn poured on East Moreland clearly means the international community have given terrorism the green light. I know King Kyle is a better man than this, a kind man, look at how he moved heaven and earth to get Princess Adriana back safe and sound, a true caring gentleman. Now we are being targetted and I have no choice but to defend our territorial integrity as such we are raising our threat level to its highest. Our Air Force shall undertake more patrols and our navy shall be on high alert. We shall not tolerate being targets of the international community for offering outcast people hope."

"Look I can probably get Matilda and Rhiannon to visit your nation. We've both got links to the various charities she's involved with, clearly she's at a much higher level but we do chat occasionally." Tim finished off his meal, "I think the best approach would be to have Matilda attend some kind of marine event, get your people to link it to the Wild Mundus Organisation and I suspect I can convince her to go. You may need to be flexible with time to try and have it that she'll have Rhiannon, but I think as long as its her custody weekend or week or whatever then she'll go. You'll have to put up though with the fact that you'll have a East Moreland Royal Protection officer with her, last thing you want is someone your using getting shot." Tim said nervoulsy.

"So you need to get me some dates, a venue and the like and I'll see what I can do."

It was perhaps the simplest of the attacks the Borlanders had planned, there was no elaborate logistics, no heavy engineering, just two simple devices each designed to look like a soda can. The two would be placed one on top of the other , the bottom one contained a weak electro magnet while the top one contained a combination of small electronics, a core of plastic explosives and wrapped around it a series of small nails. Once the two cans were placed on the supermarket shelves one above the other the ring pull was twisted to arm the device, it was just then left.

At some point in the next few hours some poor unsespecting customer would lift up the first tin and detonate the explosive, chances are it would only be lethal to the person picking it up, but anyone within the few meters around would be horrifically wounded by the flying pieces of metal. The agents had simply wandered into the supermarkets and took the devices from their pockets or bag and placed them on the shelf. The majority of the devices were of course on the shelves of the stores of East Moreland, the rest intended for the various CNN nations and those who had opposed the nations CETO application.

The meeting between the two nations was due to take place at the cities castle that sat on the hill above the old medieval quarter and it was a twisting turning mass of roads to get there. That was why the SUV rather than heading straight to the castle itself headed a little off course to the canal. There a barge was waiting and Adoracion was helped aboard before the Morelanders.

David found it rather funny that this woman was nearly ten years younger than his sister Freya yet held the same rank. Freya having served on the battlefields across Mundus, would have  found the comment of having attended an academy being " a lot to obtain" the rank rather funny. At the same time it made David proud of the East Moreland military, while those across Mundus seemed to gain promotions based on book learning it was only combat experience the promotion boards here respected, he himself only reaching the rank of Captain and he'd been a Prince and a King. "Well perhaps while you're here we can show you some of our units" David said wondering exactly what this foreign Major would make of them, "But first we have to get our hands dirty with diplomacy" he began as the canal barge set off. "It takes about half an hour to reach the foot of the castle but is a much more pleasant way than the roads. You see a lot of East Moreland towns and cities are much smaller than those across the globe, mainly because of two reasons, first our enjoyment of the countryside, village life is still a thing we rather enjoy. Second many of our settlements trace their line back to beyond the 3rd Century and so fortified walls and the like make planning hard. You generally get two cities, the old medeval one and then tacked on the side a new modern one." They began passing by old grey stone walls that lined one side of the route marking the divide between the two cities that effectively made one.

"So I think its always a good idea to get an agenda set before we talk, when we get to the castle I'll be happy to let you start, so what topics do you wish to discuss while your here? Anything in particular you'd like to see, or expereince? We can make whatever arrangements you need."

"Then why not just have us announce the creation of the Oil Producing and Exporting Nations (OPEN), when we announce the outcomes from this meeting" Akakois began. "The organisation was simple in its aims, that the founder members, ourselves in this case, will be capable of blocking new members. The membership shall each appoint a spokesman and the membership shall all charge the same per barrel. Should we wish to change the price for some reason we shall meet discuss it and then vote on it. Furthermore we should build in a common sanctions mechanism. With this in place we should be able to support each other rather well." The King waited to see if this was acceptable. "Of course the name says Oil but we'll include Gas too, OGPEN doesn't roll off the tongue as well" the Seleucid monarch chuckled.

"Shall we formally get things in place, do the hand shaking and smiles for the media and then I shall have Oksana put you in touch with her mother if you think that's the way you wish to proceed. Or perhaps my wife has other contacts she could bring to bare for you? What do you think" The King asked.

Therz would put aside her laptop, and stand up, right after she read an email. Maybe she was stressed though Carls, showing how she seems fast to get on her feet. « Who’s in charge there? » yelled Therz as she advanced further into the provisional command center. She definitely was stressed. A voice would answer, Brigadier Pate, which would make the Brigadier return to Therz as she get near him. « Brigadier, I want to be sure, as you seems to be the one appointed there, that you have a correct understanding of the situations. Here, we are currently playing the future of the Barnacle Prefecture, the possibility of getting back a territory which have been stolen to us since 206 years along getting the international recognition of Heyran Sovereignty. Therefore, I shall be tolerating no faux pas with the international community, am I clear? » she said, in the most stressed tone, she certainly received something very bad in her inbox, which was stressing her out!

The Brigadier wasn't pleased he didn't need a young politician hanging around undermining him in front of his men. He took Therz to one side, "Ma'am, until I am instructed otherwise this is a military operation. You want Barnacle then you need to let me get on with my job. The second you start talking to me like that in front of my men you undermine the operation. I'm trying to juggle the most complex aid operation in our nations history and so far the jobs getting done as well as possible in the circumstances. Now if you think any other officer can get in here and do better then by all means use the chain of command to replace me and I'll go home and enjoy a nice brandy by the fire while your getting wet and muddy here.....or perhaps not" he noted how Therz wasn't exactly attired for getting her hands dirty. "Now Ma'am I have an operation to run." He returned to his board where he had a young officer updating the map on the board.

"The Achkaerin teams are beginning to pick through the waste at  their zone, Captain Carmen has radioed in. They've also the Lodjains 24 hours out."

"Excellent, mark it up" he looked at the map showing the relative positions of the incoming support. He looked at his watch, roughly 12 hours and they'd be here. He was considering having a coffee when the radio crackled into life, it didn't sound good.

"HQ this is Captain Boyer" the officer attached to the Morelanders sounded rather frantic.

"Was that gunfire?" the Brigadier asked as the radio operator put on his head set.

"Come in Captain this is HQ" there in the background again was the sound of what appeared to be automatic rifle fire.

"Sir, we've a problem. We were advancing towards a small village in the southern zone when we spotted what we thought were survivors. We approached and as soon as they saw the Heyran flag they told us to leave. I tried explaining and they opened fire, miracle I wasn't hit. Turns out their a small unit of Himeyaman Marines, about fifty guys we reckon, well armed and have some mortars" As if on cue they heard the sound of an air burst, "Holy Shit" Carmen blasphemed, "They said that this area is Himeyaman and that they wish Heyran forces to leave. What do you advice sir?"

"Hold on Captain" the Brigadier had taken hold of the microphone. "Therz you better start pulling some diplomatic strings." he turned back to the radio, "Hold tight we'll get back to you. Withdraw to a safe distance."

"Roger that sir" Carmen signed off and got to his feet and withdrew with his group of twenty Heyrans. "So Major Bradbury what do you suggest" he asked the senior Morelander officer from the Royal Medical Corps.

"Well first off I'd have loved to have a go at remaking that decision to not carry longs" she had a pistol in her hand, they were here on humanitarian operations and rifles didn't portray that image, the Intelligence Corps back home had said chances of a shoot out were "negligible" The Major was crouched in a ditch, everytime some seemed to move or peer out of cover a burst of machine gun fire filled the air. "What your boss say?" she asked.

"Brigadier Pate said to hold tight and withdraw to a safe distance" The Heryan captain had bristled slightly at the informality in the Morelander officers assessment.

"We can't, we've a hundred meters of open land to cover back to that tree line and we might as well have bayonets" Bradbury mused, "Screw it" She said nervously, she reached into her webbing and removed a large white triangular bandage, "Get your radioman to pass me his spare aerial" the Heyran radio NCO unstrapped the spare whip aerial and handed it forward. Bradbury tied it to the aerial and nervously waved it out. At first gunfire began and she twitched nervously as the rounds plucked at the makeshift white flag. Then there was silence and the sound of a Himeyaman voice. "If I get shot" she turned to Sergeant Keith who was just behind her, "I want you to get the Reds or someone to fuck them up ok?" Keith nodded and smiled at the dark humour as Bradbury took a deep breath and stood up leaving her pistol behind, she extended her arms out to the side, her right still clutching the white flag. She moved towards where the Himeyaman soldiers were and after she'd covered half the distance she spotted a camoflauge wearing figure coming towards her.

She meet the Liuetenant just in front of the tree line that had served as their cover. "Major Bradbury, East Moreland Royal Medical Corps" she said formally, the Himeyaman soldier saluted upon noticing her higher rank.

"Liuetenant Maksuda, Himeyaman Marine Commando" he said proudly.

"Were not here to fight you, we're on an aid operation. Word was the Himeyama government had withdrawn everyone here to deal with the state of affairs back home. Why did you fire at us?" she asked.

"My apologise" Maksuda gave a small bow, "It was our belief the Heyrans are coming to try and take the islands that we were born on. I grew up here in the village beyond the trees, so did many of us in my unit. We came here to see if anyone had survived..."

Before he could continue Bradbury interputed, "and have they? We have medical supplies, medical helicopters we can get."

"Thank you" he seemed relieved, "We have ten survivors we thought may need a hospital , another twenty we patched up and wish to stay. We would appreciate the help of East Moreland, but not Heyra" he said formally. "They wish to remove us, I know they would force all the people of the village onto the helicopters and then try to kill us for this land. I was born here and if needed I shall die here, on Himeyaman soil." he said firmly enough that Bradbury believed him. The two chatted for ten minutes before exchanging salutes once more before she handed over her webbing containing her med kit. She jogged back to her unit.

"Nice to see you Ma'am" Sgt.Keith handed her the pistol back. "What's the situation?" he asked

Bradbury turned to address Keith and Captain Carmen at the same time. "It's simple, they are refusing to leave the island with the rest of the Himeyaman military, group of Marine Commando's who grew up in the village beyond the trees, they've some casualties that we need to evacuate. They say they will not allow any Heyran forces into the zone, they also claim there are other groups like them around the islands that they've been in contact with. I've agreed with them that we'll send thirty Morelanders in to assist them with medical and aid operations. Keith your on that, get yourself a team"

"Yes Ma'am" he got up off the ground and began rounding up his team who disappeared off towards where only moments earlier they'd been getting shot at from.

"Carmen you need to let your boss know what's happening, its changed the situation on the ground quiet a bit I'd say."

Carmen took the radio hand set and called up Pate. Once the  news reached him he called for Therz to be brought into the operations room. "Ma'am it seems we've a job for the politicians, we've groups of Himeyaman Marine Commando's dotted around the island, confirmed in one place. They say they will oppose Heyran military stepping into their territory and they've already openned fire on a Morelander lead patrol. Their officer negotiated what I guess we'd call a ceasefire, Morelanders will carry out aid operations but will not forceably remove anyone. So seems not all the Himeyamans did as they were instructed." he shrugged, "You need to find out where you want me to go from here." He turned back to his maps and lifted his own radio handset that allowed him to communicate with all the different zones. "This is Brigadier Pate, we have a situation. There are confirmed reports of the presence of Himeyamn Marine Commandos on the islands who have refused to return home. I suggest in any zone that used to be Himeyaman occupied units remove Heyran flags and Heyran units withdraw. Allow non-Heyran forces to make contact if you come across any of them. Do not start a fire fight, repeat no one is to open fire."

Introductions / Re: Salutations fellow leaders!

Im new here and while I'm at it I'll ask a few questions.

First is: When making the "application" in the economics thread, do I take all stats that I can take or do you rp more. And when making the value converted to usd you just use rp? Because I have no clue if that is the case what Im going to choose. I have a population of 983 000 000 (In game) and a gdp of 180 trillion. All of that seems very much comparied to the others. So the question is if I should change or keep it as it is.

Essentially we don't use NS stats, they get crazy after a week or two and make roleplay impossible as everyone is like a 7billion population nation. Essentially think of what kind of nation you wish to roleplay as and develop stats based on that. So for example I imagine East Moreland of having a similar economy to Germany but we're a larger nation in terms of area. So we have Germany's GDP per capita but 100million people.

I would say pick a population based on size of your map claim and that fits in with the region, (most active nations are in the 50-100million range) and then pick a GDP per capita of a similar economy in terms of what you imagine your nation having. So lots of agriculture but little service sector maybe go somewhere like Thailand. Economics wise Nova/Heyra is a good person to speak to.

EXCLUSIVE BARREN INTERVIEW

Following a string of attacks across Mundus the FMN has obtained an exclusive interview with the self described "King of Borland and the Boreland Folk". Our reporter meet a pair of contacts at a remote road junction, from there she was blindfolded and taken on a drive for several hours before being positioned inside a windowless room where upon she meet the man who is probably the most dangerous man alive.

The recent attacks have been highly co-ordinated and came with a countdown. This has never been the case in the past, why has there been this change of tactics?

It's simple. We are much better than any conventional weapon, we can hit any nation on Mundus, whenever we like. I can give nations warning, they know something is coming and look at what happens, we get through. I need the leaders of all nations out there to see that I am serious, that when we say something will happen then it will happen. I gave the world three days notice of attacks and behold on the third day we began our offensive. I then said 48 hours later there would be more, and again there was. I'm now telling everyone there shall, starting in 24 hours, be an attack a day for the next week.  The targets shall be any nation that has diplomatic relations with the Morelanders, and I define diplomatic relations being that they share embassies. Any nation not wishing to be attacked need only make a public announcement that they shall  recognise the Principality of Borlands sovereignty and right to exist. Do that and I give my word, and remember I've given my word for attacks and they've happened, I give my word that their nation shall not be attacked.

We understand that Tamora have already begun the process of formally recognising the Principality, how will your promise effect them?

Clearly they are a nation on the right path. They have a legislative process and I understand that. I am more than happy to sit back and allow that process to take place as I am confident that they will reach the right decision. I'm excited as I've heard their foreign minister talk a lot of sense about our history and I think that means we can do business together. You don't need to attack nations that are no threat to you and so I can promise every single Tamoran citizen on their home soil that they will not have any cause to fear us and our army. We will naturally do all possible to avoid them being caught in the cross fire in our battle for freedom.

If the East Moreland press is to be believed Empress Beatrice of Rokkenjima has in the past colluded with yourself, therefore it is rather surprising you've attacked them. Why did you target them?

We had contact with the Rokkenjimans during the unfortuante incident with Princess Adriana. We moved heaven and hell to ensure the young lady was reunited with her family, putting many of our own people at high risk. I had anticipated that Beatrice would see we are reasonable people, willing to work with others and co-operate. I could have caused all manner of chaos keeping Adriana rather than returning her. We could have executed her, left her for the wilds of the Moreland Alps and the wolves. Instead we took her into our care, I took her into my home and ensured she came to no harm, the daughter of an enemy. Let me remind the world that the Morelanders murdered my own son when he was less than a year old, they murdered my wife just weeks after she gave birth to a child that I have never seen, having stripped it away and handed it to a Morelander to be brought up a savage. Do you have any idea how that feels, I could have returned that favour a hundreds time over, yet Adrianna is alive and Helus willing well. I had hoped in the aftermath of things that we could work together but that isn't the case. Rokkenjima likes to give it the big one to the world about their influence and power, they think they are untouchable. They claim that they've faced down the might of the USR and other such spectres, that none of these nations could touch them. 130 Dead Rokkenjimans in one day shows we can do what the USR couldn't, and that is just the start. I have seen publically Beatrice call for an end to relationships with the Morelanders in the last few months. I believe she should heed her own advice and steer well clear of these Moreland savages. There is also another issue, the Illumic is no place for Rokkenjima.

The Principality of Northern Borland, a land locked settlement within Zimalia, seems to have been rather quiet in recent months, why is that?

Our Principality was home to some 5,000 people, a lovely community, a mixture of hardly Borlanders wanting a home with their kin and Zimalians desperate to start a new life after their families were devestated by Ebola, an outbreak only we responded to. This peaceful flourishing town was bombed....illegally I may add, by the Morelanders who violated Zimalian airspace without warning, to attack a nation with no standing army, no air force and no defences. Since then our militia has been carrying out attacks to disrupt the fake kingdom of East Moreland's war effort. Its all we can do, strike against their institutions in the hope that it will delay....better still deny...their chances of attacking that settlement once more.

Today the Principality is doing well. We've got up to 2,000 residents, another 1,000 should be able to move in within the next month as we complete the next phase of  container homes. We've a school there, teaching 60 children to read and write something that Zimalians are not necessarily taught. We've created communal farms that are growing fantastic fruit products, you should try some Borland pineapple, its amazing. It's my sincere hope that once we get 24 hour electric for the Principality, something we want by the end of the year we can start hosting big events, really put us on the international stage. What we really need is foreign companies looking at our workforce and diversifying our economy. Who knows where we could be in 10 years time if the world really give us a chance.

A lot of people have drawn parallels between yourselves and the Theocracy of Kaitaine. Both are considered terrorists by some but are trying to gain recognition as sovreign states, some legally believing your Principality has more of a claim to that than the Theocracy. What do you think of them being admitted to CETO and you not?

Well that's not quiet true is it. We have two seperate applications in, one for the Principality, land that can not be disputed as a sovereign state, and then we have the Kingdom of Borland, our actual homeland that is occupied territory. People claim the Theocracy, who I would like to thank for their support of the Principality in terms of CETO admission, they claim that it is the rightful government of Kaitaine, and that is true, roughly 150 years ago they had their land violently taken from them. We had ours violently taken away from us around 1000 years ago. A crime is a crime, time does not dilute it. The Ironsides have no claim to be royalty, they stole our land and we want it back. I congratulate Erin MacGregor for getting her people their land back, she's a new hero of mine, I hope one day to meet her, congratulate her and take away the Theocracies claim to be the youngest nation on Mundus. To do that we need legitamacy, much how they have, and CETO is the way of beginning that journey. So far we have not failed, not all nations have declared their refusal to admit and we could still become members. That is the dream, but the world is hypocritical if it permits the Bene Gesserit theocracy to throw off its past, wrongly attributed tag, of being terrorists and not giving us the same chance.

You said yourself Mr.Barren that you've done things you're not proud of but where force to do them. So when you will finally win and East Moreland will be yours, will you step down and let someone else lead in order to help with the reconciliation?

I have no heir at present, thanks to Moreland murders and child snatching. We are not talking about a Prime Minister or a President, but a monarch. I've been a monarch that has fought to give my people a homeland. If I had a child and me stepping aside and them sitting on a throne would bring about my people being given a homeland and having peace and security I'd merrily disappear into the Alps, build myself a little log cabin and fill my days with fishing and hunting. That's not going to happen though is it as I need to keep fighting as no one will offer us that chance, nor do I yet have an heir.

As for East Moreland becoming mine, East Moreland will never be mine, its a fictional world. No more could Narnia be mine. What we want is Borland back.

"Will there ever be peace between Borlanders and Morelanders? Foreign nations?

Didn't you hear my last answer, East Moreland is a fictional nation. I believe there is this game on the internet called NationStates, lets you set up a fictional nation and play King, that's what this Dave Ironside is doing essentially. I may as well go on that and say I recognise the nation of....(picks up mobile phone, accesses NS website and picks a random nation).....The Kingdom of Dank Memes. That's essentially what you all do when you say the Kingdom of East Moreland. You can't have peace with a figment of your imagination. As for other nations we've tried. I extended help to Rokkenjima, we provided Ebola aid to Zimalia when no one else did, we've even in the past discussed setting up embassies with nations that shall remain nameless......so there is your answer. These nations have our promise of what will happen in the coming days, I have offered a path away from that. Ball is in their court. Frankly your questions are not repetitive and I have a Kingdom to make. Get out.

The difficult part hadn't been the engineering, Curtis Roberts was a seasoned hand at making improvised weapons and had taught his young 22 year old son Sam most of the tricks of the trade. What had been difficult was finding a series of container ships that had ETA's putting them in exact spots at roughly the same time. That had fallen to Jake Thompson who had spent quiet a while trawling manifest and schedules, it had taken a while but he'd done it. Then the plan had fallen to Tanith Munroe, a 61 year old who ran a front for the Borlanders, 30 years ago she'd moved to the shit hole that was Zimalia and set up a company shipping machine parts across the globe, everything from piping for cooling systems to drilling platforms. All stripped down by her local workforce, put into containers and shipped around the world. Not only did they send parts but they took in old unloved machines from across Mundus, stripped them down, reassembled them, sold parts and generally made sure there was a constant flow back and forth between trusted ports. With the Borlanders having worked with Albanus Ares that gave them access to his network of insiders and that today would be the key.

Each of the large cargo ships had been specially selected and an identical container had been loaded, front right on the outside of each of the selected vessels. Within the bowels of each container where thirty improvised mortars, pre loaded with a propellant and a makeshift missile. In this case a large hollow metal rod packed with possibly thousands of ball bearings, the "warhead" if you could call it that was a gas cylinder. In total the thing weighted around 40kg and would fly, if all went well a good 2km. At the appointed time, selected by Jake in the HQ using a small video camera embedded in the container. He flicked a switch and the side of the container popped away, the explosive bolts and splash of the container wall hitting the surf being the first sign. A concussive BOOM filled the air as the charge within each tube mounted almost horizontally fired. The canister missile flew rather ungracefully the 2km that should put it roughly on target and then when the canister hit the ground it exploded in a small fireball sending the ball bearings flying in all directions ripping equipment and flesh apart.

Portworth, East Moreland

The cargo vessel had just begun to draw alongside the quayside and beneath it the dockside crew began preparing to tie up and begin the long process of removing the cargo. A bang went out and the four men under the front of the vessel had to dive as a large metallic panel began falling towards them. They watched shocked on the floor as a stream of smoke errupted above them, its shockwave hurting their ears. The ship was close to the dockside and some missiles hit the cranes and other equipment exploding in a small fireball the clang of the metal balls impacting metal followed by screams soon replaced them.

Some of the missiles hit windows of the office buildings, their deadly cargo bouncing around causing even greater harm.

Sea of Alucard Cruise Ship.

The Romance was a beautiful modern cruise ship carrying some 3,000 passengers keen to visit the beautiful islands of Paracambi and then as they were now making their way down to see the whales around Nya Aland. The sea lanes in this part of the world could get busy and as the ship was going slowly to allow its passengers to hopefully see a few whales breaking the surface the cargo ship passed by its port side some 2km away. The holidaymakers first clue of being targeted was the sound of breaking glass as the missiles flew in followed almost immediately by the boom of their explosion. The air was filled with a pink mist as the ball bearings found their mark and then screams began.

Port Hunter, Mega Port

The paint was still drying on The Iwi's newest port, a huge complex already full of metal containers from the Matilda's one of the worlds busiest sea lanes. There had been a whole host of ships to choose from on this one and as the ship entered the harbour it pulled off an attack almost as similar to the one in Portworth as you could imagine. Within minutes of the container side hitting the sea the fresh new paint was chipped and splinted mixing with the crimson of the Maori dockside workers.

Paracambi / Dartfordian Boarder

The ships leaving Bad Wolf Bay from Paracambi's mainland domain heading to their Alucard island passed close enough to QKNB to make it a long shot, it was a good 5km and for this the weight of the projectile had been changed ensuring it would have the required legs. To the shock of the crew onboard the side panel flipped away from its container, one of the sailors onboard had been down that end of the ship checking things over when he saw it and he began to head towards it hoping to check on what was happening. He never reached it as he threw himself to the metallic deck of the ship as the ear splitting boom of the propellant kicked in and sent thirty make shift missiles flying towards the Rokkenjiman base, it was a long shot and half the missiles hit the dark water before passing 2km.

Entrance to Bethesda, Seaforth

The trade into Seaforth had been brisk since their reappearance on the world stage, rebuilding a nation required resources and machines and that meant ships from across the globe headed into the city and that meant passing QAMB. The Rokkenjimans had been very vocal on their opposition to the Borlanders and so deserved special attention. Strapped to each of these makeshift missiles where the last of sarin canisters, there wouldn't be enough to cause more than 100 casualties, and that probably relied on the things landing next to people. It was more a symbolic gesture and as the ship began its passage past the mouth of the base the button was pushed. The missiles streaked away towards the base taking their lethal mix of ball bearings and chemical gas with them.

The Kingdom of East Moreland welcomes Santa Espinosa and Seaforth to the organisation, assuming no resolution to block their membership is forthcoming.

We call upon the government of Heyra to produce evidence of New Zion acting in a way contrary to the principles of MICA. Once we are presented with such evidence we shall give New Zion a chance to respond before determining our stance on their membership.

Diplomacy and Events / The End of the Countdown

Jake Thompson had been preparing for this for months and had exhausted every contact he had to put things in place. He'd remembered when he'd turned up to speak to his King, Kyle Barren of Borland, the rightful ruler of the territory that masquerades as East Moreland. The plan had impressed Barren and he'd been only too happy to give his young officer the green light.

The first step had been to flex his hacking muscles, that hadn't been too difficult because after all the Northfort Science Museum wasn't exactly a place that expected a Borlander to be poking around their database. It took Jake an afternoon while sat on a beach in Seleucid to get what he needed. That was step one of the process and probably the most risk free, even if the authorities spotted the hack they'd probably simply put it down to either industrial snooping or some inquisative kid, even then they'd take an age to work out where in the world it had come from and by that point Jake would be on to his next stop.

It was there he teamed up with his fellow Borlander, Will Rae, a 30 year old with 15 years of service in the battle against the Morelanders. He was considered the Borlanders expert in munitions and the pair had used the confusion of the collapse of Seaforth to drive over the boarder from Seaforth just weeks before the mountain passes where blown closed. They'd had just enough time to negotiate their deal with the Khalinz Brigade. They'd found it quiet a cheap deal to, it had cost them some boxes of rifles, a few RPG's and other supplies as well as a briefcase stuffed full of high denomination bank notes. Will had nervously driven them to the coast and then they'd sailed away in a fishing boat they'd "acquired" by stint of stealing it in the dead of night.

The next few weeks had been a little fun for Will and Jake. They both liked playing around with technology and had often sat around camp fires in the Alps planning hyperthetical operations against the Morelanders and their allies, little did they ever expect to get this far. They experimented in a warehouse they'd rented on an industrial estate in Keepton, they masqueraded as a custom T-Shirt company that had simply hired some space and set up a little start up business. It had given them cover for packages and boxes coming and going and they'd used that cover to good effect as their little creations had found their way across Mundus.

It was from this warehouse Jake and Will watched the bank of monitors each attached to a keyboard and joystick. One by one the screens flicked on and the faces of Borlanders in hiding across Mundus came into view. Each gave a thumbs up to the tiny cameras and recieved a confirmation that things were in order. The grainy image on the screen showed the agent grin and then only their feet as they walked away from what they'd left. That had been a week ago and since then the screens had provided in some cases interesting viewing as the homemade SwarmBots had been slowly moved into position.

Isle of the Goddess, Lodja

Thirty Swarmbots had been dropped off by kayak on one of the rocky outcrops of the Islands flanks. It had been quiet a challenge navigating them across the rockpools and one or two had been either washed away or in one case taken away by an inquistive crab. That had lead to quiet a chuckle between Will and Jake who hypothesised as to what would happen when the crab cracked the Bot open. The other 28 had however managed to make their way into the settlement that surrounded the bottom of the Island, it was there that they'd found the school that provided the children of the Island's staff an education. It was on old stone building and they'd found a gap in one of the walls through which they could squeeze the mechanical soldiers.

The bots had been left in the bottom of a cupboard hidden behind some boxes. In the last few days proximity alarms had gone off and they'd had a nervous wait to see whether they'd have to trigger them early. Thankfully they'd remained hidden in the dark recesses of the stock cupboard waiting their moment.

Claith, Ui Cenneslaig

The Musuem of Clan's was a popular tourist attraction in the centre of the city, it occupied a beautiful old stone building. Ornate stone plaques showed the coats of arms of some of the major clans of Ui Cenneslaig, many of them even had spread beyond their ancient homeland. It was coming up to the school summer holidays and that meant school field trips. Anyone with any sense stayed clear of the place this time of year as it was full of wild kids keen to try the hands on exhibits, be it watching reinactments, making their own handicrafts or playing music. Access was pretty easy too, the crowds making it simple for a person with a backpack to wait for the crowd to be watching some piper, or sword fight providing a distraction for the 30 bots to scurry out of the now open backpack and into an air vent.

From there Will and Jake had explored the air ducts and found the prime spot, it was above the canteen and they'd watched every day for the last four days how at exactly midday literally hundreds of school kids settled down with their packed lunches to fill up on sugar and e-numbers before enjoying their afternoon out of class.

Portworth Marine Institute

The Insitute was always popular with tourists, school children and was of course famous for being the work place of the former Queen of East Moreland, Matilda Osman. She had been a researcher there and now a single mother she had resumed part time work. Will and Jake were convinced Matilda would have had custody of Princess Rhiannon and they knew when she did the young Princess often went to work with her mother. The Princess had originally feared the Dolphins her mother worked with but now she found them funny and enjoyed tossing them fish. That had been why this place had been choosen, it gave a chance to hopefully get a member of the Ironside's, but it seemed they'd been misinformed.

It was still a useful place though, there were hundreds of meters of pipes, ducts and shadowy places that 30 tiny little robots could hide. They'd mainly moved them round during the closing process, before the alarms were turned on but when very few people where around. They'd lost one bot when its leg got damaged crossing a grate and the next day they'd sent in one of their agents to move the thing from view. Now the 29 remaining bots where positioned under the stadium style seating that made up the viewing area of the shark tank on the second floor of the five floor aquarium.

Krokom, Nya Aland

Flight 82 was returning some of the servicemen and woman who had been helping out on work in Uppsala. The city was all but fixed but there were still a few bits and pieces that needed tidying up. By the estimates of Jake and Will around half the seats on the flight would be filled with Morelanders, the rest well that didn't really matter. This had been the most challenging of infiltrations, the SwarmBots had been dropped at the airfields edge and had to walk a mile in. Will and Jake knew their home made ones wouldn't be as good as the SmartWar ones that had conquered the moon but even if they were half as good it should be possible.

It had taken them a couple of days to get them into position, they'd wandered through the tall grass that made up the outfield, hurried across the tarmac under the cover of darkness and sneaked into the cargo depot. There were hundreds of boxes there and it took them just a few hours to find one that was heading to East Moreland. The boxes were all palletised and they stuck the 30 tiny bots deep in the centre. When the day of the flight came they waited for the boxes to be moved onboard the plane and then wandered the bots around the aircraft interior and then just waited for everyone to take their seats.

Royal Merrimen University Open Day, Northfort

The Royal Merrimen University Open Day would see thousands of people from across Mundus attend, the institute was the nations CETO appointed place of study and its founder, Dr.Marcus Merrimen a well respected scholar had a slight media celebrity. The place had also in its short four year history educated two Ironsides, or one and a half to be exact. King David himself had gained a masters from the place and his niece the Archduchess Sophie Harrison-Ironside, had become one of the first batch of graduates to earn a degree in Mundus Studies. It prided itself on being open, friendly and hospitable to all, and today that included 60 SwarmBots, the largest of the groups.

These had been easy to get in, one of their agents, a student called Harvey was on a robotics course here, he'd even helped construct some of the devices that were being used and he'd offered his services at the Open Day to show some of his own SmartWar inspired bots. He'd put up around his little makeshift arena posters of the Lunar Three, the bots that had survived for over a year on the surface of Lunar and become something of social media sensations and his stand demonstration of the bots hurrying around moving boxes, climbing steps and various other tasks attracted a large crowd. His Professor watched on proud of what his student had created completley unaware of the help he'd had in his handiwork.

"Professor Deans, can you keep an eye on them for me.....you know make sure they don't take over the world or anything. I just need to nip to the loo" Harvey asked his tutor who was only to happy to take over the supervision of the display. Harvey wandered off heading towards the Great Halls bathrooms, and kept going down the stairs out the front door and into his car. He was just leaving the University grounds when he heard the feint "BOOM" and fire alarm of the bots tiny explosive charges going off. He imagined the panic in the hall as those closest to the bots began to feel light headed and fighting for breath. It was a pattern repeated across Mundus over the next hour as the bots blew up releasing the tiny boxes of Sarin which was now released into the atmosphere. It wasn't as much as Will and Jake had hoped to get but extracting it from the weapon they'd recovered from the Khalinz had been tricky and they didn't have much payload per bot.

Across the globe handfuls of people began to feel the impacts of the sarin, their chest tightening and their muscles spasming . Passengers on board the flight began to vomit as the aircrafts body kept the gas circulating. Soon the pilot, who by now was over the Sea of Alucard lost control as his vision blurred. He just about had the awareness to keep it airborne as it began to spin. In the rear several passengers began to collapse, the dosage itself shouldn't have been high enough for mass casualties but the constant circulation meant exposure couldn't be avoided and soon a handful of elderly passengers were fighting for their lives.

In the school, musuem and Marine Insitute these locations had been selected on purpose, they'd be full of children, their bodies less able to deal with the gas which was being released meant more damage was done to their tiny systems. Cries of pain and confusion filled the air as in each venue people began fighting for every breath and then the weaker children began to pass out. The explosions caused panic and people ran for exits causing even greater injuries from the stampede.

Will and Jake smiled as on each screen they watched the carnage from the one bot that wasn't part of the initial plan, this one had sat and watched giving the duo a prime seat for the carnage they'd caused. It was only when the first responded turned up that they knew their viewing pleasure was drawing to an end. Filled with 80grams of Pentaerythritol tetranitrate this bot was the biggest, now as their King leaned forward from his seat behind them he leaned forward and pressed a button. Instantly the screen relaying the signal from he bots went black. While the explosion wouldn't have been enough to cause mass casualties it had caused more injuries, and more panic. Kyle leaned back a broad grin on his face. "I'd have liked a bigger body count he" he said with a smile, "But that was nice.....very nice. Any time you two get another idea I'm all ears."

AN OFFER FROM THE KINGDOM OF BORLAND

Today you have witnessed the latest development in modern battlefield technology. Despite the best attempts of nations across Mundus we have unleashed a weapon that has bypassed defences and caused mayhem in the very heart of our enemy and its allies. Local sources[1] that 62 people have died in four countries while around another 201 are hospitalised. This is only the beginning and was only a small scale of what we are capable of. You were given fair warning and not a single nation made efforts to work with us to halt our attack, we gave much more warning than when nations such as Achkaerin and the fake state of East Moreland launched attacks against Veashek. We also gave much more notice than when the former CIS launched an illegal attack on Soviet Safraen without warning. We do not wish war but have had it forced upon us, and when forced into war one must do all that is possible to ensure victory.

I am however not a vicious monarch. I wish to see no further suffering nor casualties. Our forces have prepared strikes against other targets of interest and these shall take place in 48 hours. It is my hope that the nations of the world will work with us to find a peaceful solution that will enable me to issue orders to stand down these forces.

I shall issue this order if the following takes place.

1. The following people are released from prison, Charles Ofdensen, James Ironside, James Cluskey and General Brook of Verover.

2. That the cities of Academica City, Roberton and Keepton are placed under the control of the Kingdom of Borland alongside the Principality of Northern Borland.

3. That members of the Alba Karinya Organisation recognise our membership with immediate effect.

4. That our application to join CETO passes within 48 hours.

If all these demands are meet I will be reassured that the world does in fact desire peace and will gladly give that peace a chance. I have no wish for their to be further casualties of war and urge all right minded nations to pressure the false nation of East Moreland to end the cycle of bloodshed they created by stealing our land.

May The Gods Watch Over You and Mundus Know Peace

EKRA-BADGER 2 TO UNDERGO ENDURANCE TRIALS

EMAC have today announced that the descendent aircraft to the nations Ground Effect Vehicle known as the Ekra-Badger is to undergo endurance trials. The Ekra-Badger 2 will travel from East Moreland to Port Hunter in the Unified Iwi and then return. The journey is designed to show the Navy the ability of the aircraft to respond quickly. The CEO of EMAC, Sir Alan Maybury explained the usefulness of the design. "The Ekra-Badger showed the benefit of rapid reaction vehicles in the Illumic. It has allowed teams of Red Legionnaires to carry out quick strikes against pirate bases and has intervened in humanitarian operations far quicker than any naval vessel. The fact that it can carry six anti-ship missiles means its also a potent strike vessel, thankfully that role has yet to be tested in a real life situation. The Ekra-Badger 2 is likely to be a pure logistics vessel. The beauty of these ground effect vehicles is that it can cover large distances very quickly while giving many of the advantages of a boat, add to the fact it can refuel itself at sea and we have a long range high speed boat."

The new Ekra-Badger is likely to be able to transport over 100 troops, two tanks and supplies and travel at close to 300mph. It is likely to be armed with heavy machine guns allowing it to give fire support.

FOREIGN MINISTER SPEAKS OF TAMORA AND MORE

Foreign Minister Edward Tamana today addressed the Representative Council and included among his topics the Tamora situation.

"In the recent days we have seen a propaganda machine only rivalling that of Kaitaine. The best propaganda however has a grain, no matter how small, of truth to it. We currently have a nation who still have slavery, something I find abhorrent and wish to see end. What we must recall though is change is gradual, five years ago our nation was isolated from global affairs, much the way Tamora was. We have seen our society change and I am confident Tamora will too. I will not be promoting a boycott but I will urge the people of East Moreland to think twice before buying goods from Tamora. We as a government will not be making any purchases from Tamora unless they first permit my Office to inspect the factory or supplier and reassure ourselves that no slaves were involved in the product. We believe that in the case of criminals slavery can be a fitting punishment although even then I believe there are better alternatives. What worries us is people being born into slavery, it is my belief this is merely punishing the child for the sins of their parents. I would urge Tamora to end the practice of having children born into slavery, these children have so much potential and are being wasted."

The Foreign Minister went on to address the Tamoran presses assertion that one day our nation will "make Lodja a protectorate and put their house in order."

"Tamora should recognise a simple thing about East Moreland, we never have been, are not and never will be imperialist. It is our belief that the God Helus roamed all of Mundus but saw the lands of East Moreland as the most bountiful and most beautiful. As such to Cultists East Moreland is seen as the holy land and we have no desire to expand it. We've had oppurtunities in the past should we have wished, we could have held onto territory in Safraen, Academica could now be a province of East Moreland yet it isn't. We had the ability should we have wished to take control of Uppsala but there are no Morelander troops on the streets there. We are a nation that are as far away from being Imperialist as you can imagine."

Tamana was then asked of the tsunami response in Barnacle.

"Our stance over the chain of islands has not changed, should the people there wish to be Heyran then we'll support that, should they wish to be Himeyaman we'll support that too. Our nation has a reputation for successfully running referendum's on behalf of nations wishing to be seen to be transparent and also international organisations. We would wish to help ensure the people of these islands get their voice heard. The situation there is currently changing, I believe that the Himeyaman sections have been hit hard, and along with their mainland things are in need of attention. We'll support that but my understanding is the Himeyamans have all but withdrawn from the islands, this may change the situation radically. Once relief operations are done we shall take a barometer of the publics views there and support that view.
