QUEEN APPEARS ON TV FOR REVEALING INTERVIEW Queen Klara yesterday appeared at a national TV station to give an interview that was unannounced to the nation. The 18 year old monarch appeared on Lodjain Breakfast News, dressed rather casually, to take part in an interview with the nations most popular news programme. During the interview Queen Klara spoke on issues ranging from policy, to traditions and to her future plans. A summary of the interview can be found below.
Q - What can we expect to see from your government in the first year? A- I intend to build on the ideas in many arenas of Queen Viktoria. She had the idea of focusing development on our Plebleian citizens, I think this has to continue, as such I will be investigating such things as creating easier access to higher education. We are toying with the idea of a quota system for Universities receiving public funding, after all if the Plebs are paying taxes to fund a University they should be able to access it.
In terms of the environment we are going to aim to make Lodja plastic free within the next 25 years, its an ambitious target but one I feel we must do. We have an Island aspect to our nation, I grew up on Grand Alucard and the amount of plastic washing up on those beautiful beaches is heart breaking. I think we can also do more to make use of the ocean as an energy source. Its ironic that as a nation with so many islands we don't really embrace our connection with the sea. A naval protection area will be made to ensure fishing stocks remain high.
In terms of our military the reforms we started under the Morelander review have stagnated. There is a stubbon streak in our established officer class and I will sort that out, there can be no more excuses that compromise our national defence and response to internationl incidents.
Q - What changes can we expect to see with the Conclave? A- There will be few if any change of faces. I will be creating a few more positions and expanding the Conclave, look at other nations cabinets and they have many many specialist ministers, we have six. There is no way in a modern nation six people can run a whole government. I know that the Priesthood supports the Conclave but they are experts in faith not government and I don't mean that disrespectfully. I intend for example to move the Ministry of Health to a full time Minister and away from a Priestess, I furthermore intend to create positions such as a Minister for Sport, a Minister for Culture and a Minister for the Environment. Those serving at present will remain, Lord Besarian has done a good job as Lord of the Conclave and Dragan Knežević has managed our finances superbly, you do not fix what is not broken.
Q- Have talks begun on your marriage and if so which nobleman is in the frame?Unlike Viktoria I will not be a slave to tradition. I respect them but a tradition only becomes one after it is repeatedly done, and not all traditions are good. I fully intend to follow the tradition of the Conclave determining a marriage for me, it may not be the first one however. My first marriage may not even be to a man, but when the Conclave select someone who I think is agreeable then yes I'll marry and have children, there is no hurray as we are, unlike other monarchies, not tied to a single dynasty so I have no pressure to produce an heir.
Q- So you believe you could marry a woman? A- I don't see why not. Other Queen's in the past have had female lovers, there is nothing in scripture stating a Queen can not marry a woman. I have never publically said I am bi-sexual, my family know, my friends know but now as I serve as a mother for our nation I must be honest about who I am. I will not deny my true self and who I marry and love will have no impact on how well I can rule Lodja.
What do you see as Foreign Policy goals?A- We're members of the CNN which means we've a close knit group of good friends. We need to do more with nations like Paracambi and Nya Aland whom we need to be more active with. Beyond that I think its more a case of an issue based foreign policy, we need agreements internationally that support our nations development, be that economically or in terms of oppurtunities. We will have to wait and see where that takes us.
The Queen was seen heading to the airport shortly after but her destination was not revealed leading to speculation of a foreign visit. However later in the day Lady Anna Immich and Lady Roksana Pajari, the two most senior Ladies in Waiting where spotted at Gaia's Temple to Sessifet leading others to believe the Queen may be spending time on Grand Alucard where she was born.
