Kulturministerium von Löwenburg
Ministero della Cultura del Leonburgo To:-
- Ministry of Culture of New Derusmia
- Ministry of Culture of A.S.A
The area where the borders of our countries align has a rich and diverse culture, in addition to its long industrial history, agriculture, and tourism. It situated at the crossroads between Latin and Germanic worlds which is reflected in the variety of languages spoken there. The region is also home to distinctive traditions, which is for example shown through the celebration of Saint Nicholas Day, Christmas markets, or traditions involving the Easter hare in Lionbourg, directly influenced by its two larger neighbours.
It's the very reason as to why I'm writing this message to our counterparts in New Derusmia and A.S.A, since it has become more vital for all of us to do our part in preserving the long lasting legacy left behind for future generations. As much as we should emphasize on the positive aspects of our countries' relations, it would be a diservice to neglect its negative aspects in the form of warfare which has caused immense bloodshed, destruction and sorrow between our three great countries. In order to honor those who've fallen, both military and civilian, as well as providing highlighting past mistakes through an educational manner, it would be a benefit for us all to engage in common projects and activities pertaining to history and culture. These could range from memorials and museums to films and tv-series, as well as the heads of states gathering on a designated location of importance on an annual basis.
Unless my colleagues have other suggestions for venues, I propose that we meet eye-to-eye in the Lionbourgish town of Altkirch, located in the Sundgau region where it nestles at the heart of shimmering landscapes, lush green valleys and authentic heritage at the border along New Derusmia and A.S.A. I'm looking forward to be hearing more from you so that we may discuss about taking a common path towards perserving a shared cultural and historical legacy.
Best Regards,
Iréne Kahnt
Minister of Culture and Justice of Lionbourg
