Edwinstowe is a highly religious city and the centre of the Cult of Helus in Bakkermaya, additionally it is home to the Helusan faiths leadership. Most visitors will take time to explore the cities Temple of Helus which has, as tradition dictates the tallest tower in the city.
At one point the city was home to the nations largest port however the urbanisation of the city meant that the port didn't keep pace with the modern developments of industrial ports. The city still has a small port which today is used mainly for pleasure trips and passengers services however the old canals which used to help transport goods off loaded from cargo ships into the city warehouses. Today many of these warehouses have been converted into accommodation or trendy nightspots. Some still function as museums and many choose to enjoy a leisurely canal cruise when visiting the city. There are also water taxi's that are a popular way to get around the city.
The centre of Edwinstowe features a number of large market places. The main one is the Grand Market Place which today is a focal point for the cities nightlife. The market place is surrounded by cafes and bars and twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday) hosts a crafts market which sells everything from meat to swords. The marketplace also occasionally hosts festivals, concerts and other cultural events and at times is also known to be a focal point for protests and demonstrations.

City Trivia * The city is home to the only joint place of worship for the Cult of Helus and the Helusan faith. It was opened in 2019 and its opening attended by Royals from East Moreland, Achkaerin and Seaforth and is called the Temple of Swords.
* Standing in the Grand Market Place a flagstone marks a point where it is possible to see all the eight Temples of the Cult of Helus at the same time. The new Temple of Swords is the only Helusan place of worship that can be seen from that spot however.
