Backround
Tarrokh is an ancient nation with rich history tracing it's origins back to the Razini Dynasty in 300BC. The Tarrokhi people have been in the centre of several succeeding dynasties throughout the ages. The modern state of Tarrokh was formed after the former Dynasty was toppled in 1846 and replaced by the current Sangdevin dynasty. During the 19th century a quite liberal constitution was made in 1885 establishing a parliament and constitutional monarchy. When oil was discovered in Tarrokh foreign influence within Tarrokh begun to cement itself, leading to foreign corporations taking control of most of the oil industry in Tarrokh. Conflict between Tarrokh and foreign companies culminated in the 1986 Revolution which installed a Socialist Dictatorship, but to not provoke the populace the Shah was allowed to remain in power as long as remains fully neutral in politics.
Today Tarrokh has boasts a population of 72 million people, most of which are ethnic Tariqi. Tarrokh is a mountainous country with many isolated valleys and plateaus which are home to much of the country's agriculture. Politically Tarrokh is rather isolated both due to it's geography, but also because of strict tarrifs on foreign companies, limiting contact with other nations. Oil flows out, and some limited imports come in, but other than that Tarrokh deals little with other countries, having a seemingly paranoid view on the outside world viewing them all as potential
oppressors.

Economy
The economy of Tarrokh is mostly state owned with a select few private companies that are heavily taxed by the government. Tarrokh is a land of plentyful natural resources and because of this it is mostly self sufficient. The largest sector is the oil and gas sector followed by the mining and agriculture sectors. When it comes to foreign trade Tarrokh retains high tariffs to protect the economy from foreign exploitation like what was seen before the Revolution.
In recent years the economy has grown sluggish, with companies failing to keep up with demand in some areas, while over-saturating the marked for other wares, economic growth is all but gone.
