A Very Tytorian Royal Wedding
« on: June 19, 2019, 08:44:17 PM »
An Invitation from the Kingdom of Tytor

Dear friends and acquaintances,

As you all no doubt are aware, the Kingdom of Tytor has a royal wedding coming up--my wedding.  As has been announced, I am engaged to be married to Lady Theresa Hales of Covington on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019, at 11:30 AM, Western Albion Standard Time.  The marriage will take place at St. Mary's Cathedral in Tsargrad, with a reception immediately thereafter in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Palace.  As this is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen ties between Tytor and her allies (in addition to those between myself and Lady Theresa), as well as introduce Tytorian customs to those members of the international community with whom we have not had much interaction, the decision has been made to invite the leaders of the world to attend this momentous occasion.

Those wishing to attend should RSVP to:
The Royal Palace
100 N. King's Way
Tsargrad, EC 30001
Tytor

Signed,
-HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Parksfield

(OOC: There, I did it.  Please note that once the event begins it will be time-locked, meaning that nothing occurring after July 3rd should be mentioned or discussed in this thread.  Also, I will be considering any ongoing crises to have been resolved sufficiently ahead of time, so they should not be brought up either except in past tense.  Finally, as the reception is being held at the Royal Palace, it will be dry; in other words, no alcoholic beverages will be served.)

His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Duke of Parksfield

The day is blessed, we extend our warmest greetings to you and the people of Tytor.

It is unfortunate that I personally may not attend the festivities in Tytor. My schedule has been filled for the foreseeable future. However, to ignore your invitation entirely would be an insult to your people and my own.

In my stead, I have summoned Grand Treasurer Renji Yokoshima and Chief Financial Advisor Masaharu Taera to attend.

The opportunity to have the Neo Quywe Federation present for this auspicious event is dearly appreciated.

Signed,
Brilliant Speaker Junko Kamaejikawa
Leader of the new Quywe people

On behalf of myself and the Kingdom of East Moreland please accept my congratulations on the upcoming wedding. Sadly with the ceremony taking place close to the Feast of Rolaf and with the recent internment in the Ironside family mausoleum I have duties of faith here in East Moreland. I shall however like to have my Prime Minister Henrietta Quinn attend along with our nations Youth Minister Amelia Merriman who shall be undertaking her final duty in the role.

I hope that you and your bride will be blessed with a glorious day and a long and happy marriage.

May The Gods Watch Over You and Marissa Bring Love

OOC: Poke for any more RSVPs.  Barring anything getting in the way, I'll get this started on Wednesday with a post about the wedding ceremony itself, and then on to the reception thereafter.

On behalf of the Most Serene Empire of Xæth and Her Imperial Majesty Ælirn XIX xy Thælyrn, I wish to offer you the sincerest congratulations for your upcoming matters. It saddens Her Majesty immensely that she will not be able to attend in person as she is currently preoccupied with her numerous duties as the Most Serene and Celestial Empress, however we are most appreciative of the invitation and I will be attending alongside my husband at the behest of Her Imperial Majesty. We wish you to be blessed with a long and fruitful marriage.

OOC - Apologies there's not a fancy IC response as what would normally be the case, I'm presently at the back end of working the UK Methodist Conference something I've done for the past eight years and it's been pretty full on. Suffice to say that there will be an Achkaerin presence and it will be either Emperor Peter and his wife or Crown Princess Serenity and her husband plus kids or Prince Simon and his wife plus kids. Should none of them be available then it will be delegated to one of the noble families, point is that Achkaerin should be considered as intending to attend.

St. Mary's Cathedral, Tsargrad
July 3rd, 2019 - 11:29 AM

The cathedral was, as always, beautiful.  A masterpiece of Tytorian Gothic architecture, St. Mary's had been a fixture of central Tsargrad since its dedication in 1556.  That, of course, made it older than the Kingdom of Tytor itself, but no one was complaining; if anything, its age made it all the more magnificent.

The last of the guests had been seated almost fifteen minutes ago, as was customary with such occasions, and the great front doors had been closed.  Due to the sheer thickness of the stone walls, little if any of the late morning hustle and bustle of modern Tsargrad could be heard, even in those moments when the vast organ fell silent between prelude hymns.  Prince Charles felt his heart thumping loudly as he gazed out over the rows of people who had turned out for the wedding.  His father, the king, sat in the front to Charles's left, smiling serenely, an empty chair beside him where the queen would have been were it not for the dreadful cancer which had taken her now thirty years hence.  Almost directly behind him were Crown Princess Adriana of Rokkenjima and her parents, Empress Beatrice and Emperor Alexander.  Next to them, that had to be Krimeon's Emperor Axel and Empress Elena.  On the other side of them was Crown Princess Serenity of Achkaerin, seated with her husband (whom Charles had never met) and her two daughters.  In the next row, Charles thought he recognized the representatives of Xaeth, East Moreland, Tauredalia, and the NQF, all lesser government officials whose names he'd forgotten in the craziness of finishing preparations for their arrival -- Theresa would know; she always did.  The next row down contained three women who really couldn't be anyone other than the Nythymn officials; Ascendant Natrax's missing arm was rather obvious, even from this moderate distance.  Behind them and on the other side of the aisle were various members of Tytor's nobility, peerage, and government.  The first few rows on the right were filled by friends and relatives of the Hales family, of course, but Charles also recognized Prime Minister Thatcher, sitting with her husband four rows back, and her immediate predecessors, Goodfellow and Cornwallis.  Even the aging Reginald St. George, Prime Minister before Cornwallis, had turned out, looking oddly old-fashioned in his white suit and out-of-date glasses.

Charles heard old Archbishop Valance cough quietly behind him as the cathedral's bells started chiming the half-hour.  Any moment now, that door in the back of the nave would open, and Theresa would come through it, escorted by her father.  The organist had finished with the prelude music, and so there was silence for the moment aside from the ringing of the bells.  Then, all of a sudden, the organ started up again, only now it was playing the wedding processional Theresa had chosen for the event.  The audience stood, and all too soon Theresa was by his side.  The audience, joined now by Lord Hales, resumed their seats upon the conclusion of the processional, and the service with an invocation by the good archbishop.

"...As long as you both shall live?"

"I do," Theresa said confidently.

"Then in the sight of Almighty God and His angels, I pronounce you, Charles and Theresa, man and wife, bound in holy matrimony from this day forward, till death do you part."  The archbishop smiled warmly at the pair of them, and then added, "Your Highness, you may kiss the bride."

Charles did so.  This had to be the happiest day of his life.

Grand Ballroom, Royal Palace, Tsargrad
Approximately Twenty Minutes Later

All things considered, the journey across the street from the cathedral went very smoothly.  The wedding's invited guests had made their way into the Royal Palace's Grand Ballroom without incident, allowing the newlyweds to lead the way.  As had been decided ahead of time, the reception was to begin with a true ball, and Charles and Theresa opened the dancing with an elegance born of a lifetime of practice.  As the reception progressed, servants brought in food and beverages (all non-alcoholic, of course, in keeping with royal tradition) from the kitchens, and the mingling commenced.  Everywhere Charles turned, there were people coming up to wish him and Theresa well.  Lord Hales could be seen across the room deep in conversation with Goodfellow and a couple other men Charles only knew by sight, and Prince George, Charles's brother and best man, was by one of the food tables, talking animatedly with Sir Gregory Major, the Foreign Minister.  Prime Minister Thatcher was dancing nearby with her husband, while Prince Harold and his wife sat on the edge of the dance floor, clearly people-watching.  All in all, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, even the king, who appeared to be admiring the view out of one of the windows.

Prime Minister Henrietta Quinn always enjoyed a good wedding. She had never attended a Christian one before and had to admit the high vaulted ceilings of the Cathedral where rather impressive. It took her back to her days as Minister of Culture and Tradition when her King had come and told her he wanted to create CETO and Henrietta had undertaken a crash course in Mundus religions. Amelia Merriman however had slightly different feelings, it was a mixture of excitement about such a grand occasion but also sadness, this was her final act as a Minister of her King. In just a weeks time she'd stand down as a Representative Councillor and as tradition dictated the youngest Councillor served as Minister for Youth her time on the cabinet would be over to. She had no plan yet, just to go travelling for a while and maybe consider that Master's degree but for now she'd just enjoy the final act of serving the King.

The two filed out the Church and into the ballroom, it was not to dissimilar to those back in the Northfort Palace except perhaps less scuffs on the floor from sword scabbards. The two had considered leaving theirs at home but they were serving Ministers of the King and so figured it was expected to be seen with blades, each had however toned things down with simple short swords in an effort not to damage the Tytor Palace ballroom floor. The pair sat nursing a glass of orange juice, a wedding without booze being a first for the pair. "Wonder if this will be as eventful as Princess Freya's wedding?" Amelia asked referring to the last royal wedding she attended.

"Well if we make it to 10pm without Red Legion having to rugby tackle someone and hold them at gunpoint it's not a proper wedding" Henrietta said referring to the moment two bratty foreign guests had started yelling about being a royal and being kidnapped just because they had an argument with another guest. The pair laughed as they surveyed the scene.

Throughout the ceremony Crown Princess Serenity and her husband Supreme Commandant Isaac Wesley had been sat watching with smiles on their faces, they could both still clearly remember their own wedding day, Isaac had been all dressed up in his finest suit with Serenity's brother Simon stood next to him while Serenity herself had been in a very simple blue dress that day, it was hard to believe it had been a while since then they'd had their first child as a couple Astrid and only about a year earlier seen Serenity reunited with her other child Lisa. Still it was a day for joyous celebration and so Serenity made sure that the first thing she did upon entering the ballroom was congratulate the newly weds before with much trepidation waiting to allow Isaac to lead her onto the dance floor.

It probably would seem a little weird to think that the aspect of the day in Tytor that most worried Serenity was the dancing itself, not because she couldn't dance but because she had very little dancing experience with her artificial leg having lost her lower left leg while on duty with the navy, so she was being reasonably cautious but even so having Isaac there was making it a whole lot easier for her. She was also conscious that she knew very few of the Tytorians in the hall, in fact perhaps there was only one Tytorian she knew and that was Cornwallis, and the only reason she knew him was because he had succeeded her as Secretary General of the CTO and as such, in keeping with the tradition of that organisation, she had handed him a letter as a sort of passing of the baton it was part of the same tradition that had seen the brother of Tim Carpenter send a letter to Serenity's cousin Sakura.

After a couple of dances Serenity and Isaac stepped off the dance floor and got something to drink - the girls were on orange juice while Serenity and Isaac opted for lemonade, this didn't bother Serenity either she was decidely teetotal when it came to drinking, though the girls didn't have any idea why yet and certainly Lisa didn't know that she was part of the reason.

"Mummy has to go and say hello to people." Serenity said to the two girls "See if you can decide what tattoo I should get on my leg." it was a simple enough reference, a few years earlier during her experience as a prisoner of the Borland Separatists Serenity had been scarred on her left shoulder, to cover it up she'd gotten a tattoo of a fox on her shoulder and was planning on doing something similar on her left leg.

Serenity took a quick glance around the room and decided that the best place to start was with King Michael, she made her way over.

"Beautiful scenery for a beautiful day Your Majesty." Serenity said "Though with scenery like this every day is a joyous one I guess." she was about to go a little bit further in conversation but the girls had other ideas, unbenownst to Serenity they'd snuck away from Isaac and followed her over and were naturally unaware of who she was talking to.

"Hey Mr what tattoo do you think Mummy should get?" Astrid asked

"We were thinking a ring of flames." Lisa said "What do you think Mr?"

The appearance of the two girls had made Serenity blush with embarrassment she glanced over her shoulder at where Isaac stood and raised an eyebrow he was such a playful soul sometimes and the girls were developing a similar sense of humour that her brother's twin girls had.

"My daughters Astrid and Lisa." Serenity said turning back to the King "Girls this is King Michael."

We would like to thank thee for inviting the Imperial Majesties for attending the wedding, albeit cut short due to a sudden passing of a distant yet close family members of theirs, as to which it's fully understandable and thus had to head home immediately. It's our sincere hope that the wedding gifts have been well received and more opportunities will arise for the Tytorian and Krimeonite Royal counterparts to have a proper encounter with each other.

It had been a very long time since Ithana had traveled abroad on an official function, and she had to admit that it was something she missed. She loved Xæth dearly and loved to represent it on the world stage, something that she hoped she'd get to do far more with Ælirn in power. And a wedding such as this was a good thing to ease Ithana back into things as despite the fact that it was Tytorian it was still a Christian wedding, which was something she had some measure of experience with. The cathedral was different from the churches back home of course and some of the details differed, but at its core it still reminded her of when she had married her darling Levon. He was not as happy to be here as she was; dealing with these sorts of people were not his specialty and he had spent much of the time before the wedding complaining. About the chill, the looseness of the traditional Xæthoon attire they both wore, about every little thing. Ithana had taken it in stride as she knew he'd eventually get it out of his system, and she was right. Once they had actually arrived at the wedding he had quieted down, and once it ended and they made their way to the ball room she saw him smile out of the corner of his eye.

The pair first offered their congratulations to the newlyweds before heading off to have a dance or two or Levon's behest. Once they had finished they both grabbed a drink, and Ithana smiled at Levon. "Oh no, I know that smile," he said in Attican, narrowing his eyes, "You're thinking about abandoning me to the wolves, aren't you?"

"No, of course not," Ithana said with a smile, "But I do need to go do my job."

Levon sighed, "Alright. Fine. Have fun."

"You too," she said, giving him a peck on the cheek before she turned to head off. She decided that perhaps the best place to start would be with someone whom Xæth actually had some connection and semblance of 'friendship' already. East Moreland seemed like a safe bet, and she made her way over to Prime Minister Quinn. She smiled as she greeted them, "Xitaar, Prime Minister Quinn. Minister Merriman. I believe this is the first time we have met in person; it is a pleasure to meet you both. This is quite a lovely day we are having, no?"

Meawhile Levon was standing around sipping orange juice. He had never been much of a people person, but he'd be damned if he didn't support his wife. Especially now that she held such an important position in the government. But that did not change the fact that he had no idea what to do aside simply stand there. So he scanned the crowd; perhaps he could spot someone else who was merely the spouse of someone important. He doubted it, but one could always hope.

Offering their congratulations the Imperial Couple approached, although Alex had been a bit to handle seeing that it was a dry affair. "Behave yourself," Beatrice nudged Alex with the strike of her elbow, "I've always an 'emergency flask' on hand for each of us. Don't entertain any ideas of spiking the punch though, or you will be punched." Alex sighed, "They'd never see it coming though and just think of the fun we could ha...." Beatrice cut him off with her heel to his big toe, "I said no, if you behave later I shall see that you are rewarded," she continued with a wink.

Before she could even speak to the Prince Adriana stepped forward, "Prince Charles, Princess Theresa," she said with a bow, "Congratulations on behalf of the Rokkenjiman People. I have to say I'm a bit sad, a part of me wanted you to be my first kiss," she said with a chuckle to Prince Charles, "but at the same time, how can I not be happy for you? Thank you for being so kind to me, and lifting me up when I felt so sad that day," she concluded, noting the day they'd first met when her gift, a clay representation of the Tytorian flag, had fallen to the ground and shattered.

"As for you," she turned to Theresa, "he's a great guy, if you're not nice to him remember I'll be Empress one day." After giving her a stern look for a second she burst into giggles, "Anyone Prince Charles would marry would have to be sweet, his heart wouldn't let any others in. I think we're going to be great friends," she said with an impromptu hug; most likely a breech of diplomatic protocols. "Treat him good, yeah?"

King Michael gave a small start upon being addressed by Serenity and turned to face her.  "It is beautiful, yes," he said, glancing back out the window as he spoke, "Though I must admit-"  He broke off at the girls' question, and, having been taken somewhat by surprise, took a moment to regain his composure.  After Serenity made introductions, he smiled, his eyes twinkling slightly.  "Well, young ladies," he said to the two girls, "I can't pretend to be an expert on tattoos, since I've never had one myself, but I'm sure whatever she chooses will be wonderful.  I think I know enough about Achkaerinese culture to be confident about that."

Theresa looked so startled at Adriana's unexpected hug that her new husband couldn't help laughing right out loud.  "Sorry, dear, I know I shouldn't laugh," he began after a moment, still chuckling, but at this point she was laughing too.

"It's all right, Charles," she said, shaking her head slightly, "And yes, Your Highness, I will most certainly 'treat him good'.  How could I not when he's been so good to me already?"

Natrax was sweating heavily. She felt nauseated and was trying her best to hide it. She was still getting use to the loss of her right arm. In the days since the crowning, her body felt weird and big. She hated the feeling, hated feeling like an alien, an outsider, in her own body. Not to mention she still was lopsided, she had to lean on Vizla when she walked. The Vaticinator didn't seem to mind much. She was, of course, concerned with taking care of the little Empress. Qi’rrow did her part, managing to stay quiet for the entire ceremony. Natrax had been concerned that the baby would cause a scene, but Vizla was confident in her ability to calm the Empress. It seems she was right.

In the days since Natrax had become to single most powerful figure in the Coalition, Vizla had become a close friend and confident. She had stayed in Natrax' hospital room while she recovered. It was strange, Natrax was not use to this kind of open kindness, and the longer it went on the more she felt that Vizla generally meant it, that there was no ulterior motive behind her actions. The three of them sat near the wall. While Vizla was an extremely elegant and well-trained dancer, she had two others to take care of.

"Vizla?"

"Yes, my Ascendent."

"Where any of these dignitaries at my crowning?"

"Only the Rokkenjimans. And one of the Quywe- a minister of finance if I am correct. Although there were Morelanders, Achkaerinese, and Xæthoon there too."

"And the Krimeonite?"

"Mysteriously absent it seems." Natrax signed gloomily. "What's wrong my Ascendant?"

"I was hoping to see the Emperor who throw a tantrum myself. To hear you tell of what happened after my sacrifice... outsiders are so strange." Natrax laughed and Vizla joined her. "Vizla go dance. I know you want to. And don't give me that face. I can hold the Empress just fine, I promise."

Vizla had only knew the Ascendant a few days, but still knew it better not to argue. She placed Qi'rrow safely in Natrax' arm and stood up. Rather than go dance she decided she'd grab the pair of them drinks. She went off in search of a servant to get two glasses of strawberry lemonade.

Henrietta and Amelia both extended a hand to Ithana. "A pleasure to meet you" Henrietta began, "Its rather nice to get to come to something like this. His Majesty did a bit of a sucker for foreign ceremonies and rituals." Henrietta was always a little jealous of his adventures visiting foreign lands and seeing ceremonies like what they'd witnessed today usually though she just had to hear about them when he returned and she'd been left holding the ships steady at home. "Although despite Baronetess Stasya's efforts he's still not much of a dancer so perhaps he's dodged a bullet here" she added.

Amelia meanwhile had spotted Natrax and excusing herself headed over. "Your Ladyship"[1] Amelia said as she gave a slight bow. "I'm Amelia Merriman" she figured someone new to global politics wouldn't know who she was, after all not only was her position a very minor one she was also done in a matter of days. "I'm the East Moreland Youth Minister" she explained with a smile. "I know my King would like me to pass on his best wishes and hopes that your feeling better." She had heard of the harrowing ceremony and was rather pleased that the King had deemed to attend that ceremony and not post her. " I hear he gave you a copy of the Peter Pan story. It used to be a real favourite of mine." She added. "I know he'd also like to extend an invitation to the Festival of Sail. You see His Majesty tends to like to mix business and events such as that and I know he's keen to maintain the atmosphere of friendship and co-operation in the Illumic that he and the Seaforthians have worked for these last few years."

Serenity had to smile, it seemed her daughters had made something of an impression and it had seemingly broken the ice a little and the fact that both girls were smiling testified to the impression that the Tytorian monarch had made with them, in short they liked him. Serenity ran a hand through both her girls hair making a mental note that Lisa's needed cutting a little shorter the next time she did it.

"I'll think about it." Serenity said "But please don't start asking the entire room that."
"How many can we ask?" Lisa asked

Serenity closed her eyes for a moment, yeah she walked right into that one hadn't she?

"Ten people each starting now." Serenity said, the girls ran off eager to start canvassing opinion while Serenity turned back to the King "There are days those two drive me crazy but I remember I used to do that to my parents and they'll have it done to them by their kids one day if they have them. I understand it's a bit of interesting time around here at the moment not just today's events but recent success's in space, a Prince elected to Parliament and we've got the Mundus Games coming up where your nation could host the best athletes from across Mundus for a second time. Shame that this" she pointed down at her leg "Stops me competing these days."

Natrax smiled at the newcomer. "Its a pleasure to meet you. You'll forgive me for not extending my hand." She laughed at this and nodded toward the baby in her one arm. She was a little marveled at Amelia's title- youth minister. It was certain something far more progressive than the Coalition government had. "Hm, yes the story of Peter Pan. Quite a funny choice. A tale involving a leader missing an arm. Lets hope the similarities end there, or next Peter Pan will be fighting me on the water. Though I'd guess that little Princess Rhiannon would make the best Peter Pan. Your king need not worry, the Nythymn will be make our appearance, we are practically neighbors after all. There has just been some disagreement on what ships to send west. I am told that I'll be front and center though."

Qi'rrow began to struggle and wiggle in Natrax' arm. She, with great trouble, tried to hold her as best as she could. "If you wouldn't mind, could you please help me with the little Empress. I'm not as... capable as I once was. And I'm losing my grip on her." She smiled at Amelia weakly. This was something she might have to get more use to. It was a humbling thought.

"It is a shame, yes," the king said, nodding, "Life has a tendency to get in the way of such things.  Why, I remember when my sons were little, all they wanted to do when they grew up was play professional baseball.  It used to please their mother to no end to organize games for them with the palace staff.  She even talked me into pitching for them every once in a while."  He chuckled at the memory.  "Needless to say, none of us was really any good, but we all had fun.  It's a pity they've outgrown it.  And, of course, my darling wife has... moved on.  I wish she were here today; she would be so very happy for Charles."  He fell silent for a moment, seemingly lost in thought, then gave himself a little shake.  "Enough gloom from me, though," he said, a note of apology in his voice, "I'm sure you didn't come over for an old king's babbling."

Amelia wasn't really used to being around children, especially babies. The problem was you kind of didn't say no to help a foreign head of state nor a one armed woman holding a little baby. Amelia carefully cradled the child, she suspected King David wouldn't want a diplomatic incident were his Youth Minister caused damage to an Empress. "So when exactly will this little one take their position." Amelia asked as the baby began to squirm a little unused perhaps to the new holder. " As for the Festival of Sail bring whatever vessels you think are of interest. We tend to get everything from a replica Viking boat to some of the most modern naval vessels in militaries around the world. Personally though I just like the chance to hang out on the beach with friends and watch the variety of ships coming and going. You should try and make some time at the Festival to just enjoy things." Amelia sensed the child was a little unsettled and began gently rocking her as they spoke.

"I know the feeling." Serenity said, thinking back to her wedding day and how her mother hadn't been there then she smiled and sipped some lemonade, King Michael was astute "This isn't something I want to make a big deal about especially when the focal point of today is for Charles and Theresa, but my father did mention that to his recollection outside of major international summits our nations have never sat down and talked. I came with an invitation for your country to visit the frozen north as we call it , as I said it's not for today because today's about joy and love and two people not about nations but I hope Tytor will take us up on the offer when time permits and the opportunity presents itself."

"I very much agree, these sorts of occasions are always nice. And it's been too long since I attended a wedding, let alone a wholly Christian one," Ithana said, smiling at Henrietta, "And King David doesn't sound too dissimilar to Empress Ælirn; I haven't known Her Majesty long, but I do know that she is fascinated by foreign cultures and customs. I've also heard that dancing isn't exactly her specialty, so that's something else they have in common." Ithana chuckled at that.

"Though I suppose that fascination isn't always a good thing," she sighed, glancing over at the Nythymn attendees, "I hear King David was also at Ascendant Natrax's coronation. Their dragging themselves out of isolation is certain to shake things up on both our continents, wouldn't you agree?"

"Never?" King Michael asked, raising his eyebrows at Serenity's words, "Not even once?  Well, I'll certainly make mention of that to Prime Minister Thatcher; I'm sure she'll be eager to remedy it.  I mean, it's not like Tytor and Achkaerin are enemies - I don't see any issues at all in regards to a bilateral dialogue.  In fact, come to think of it, if you were to bring it up with the prime minister here and now, I'm sure she'd be quite happy to arrange something within the next few weeks or so."  He gestured toward the dance floor, where the prime minister had just finished a final dance.  "That's her over there.  Shall I introduce you?"

Natrax smiled at Amelia's question. "Technically, she already has. Of course, she's far too young to help with the ruling. Till then, her officials duties are handled by the Suzerain. But from my limited time on the Delegation, they want her to come into her throne naturally. This means that as she gets older she won't be able to remember her first state visit, her first diplomatic meetings, etc. There is a lot of hope and faith placed in her back home. The Imperial Bloodline is plagued with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and we've sadly been plagued by a line of short-lived boy-emperors. Qi'rrow is from a cadet branch of the Imperial Bloodline, her father not cursed with the genetic disorder. She's the first to sit on the Imperial Throne without the disorder in over 20 monarchs. Sadly, she is also the last of the Bloodline. If she were to leave no heirs, for the first time in our history, the Imperial Throne would revert to one of the Highborn families, in essence our nobility." Natrax realized she might be scaring the young girl on just how important the babe in her arms really was. But she seemed like the kind of person that could handle pressure well. Besides, dropping Qi'rrow could possibly cause war between Moreland and Nyx, and when the stakes are that high, failure is not an option.

This was better than Serenity had hoped, she'd been hesitant to raise the matter because while it was something of note it wasn't the most significant thing about the day, so the opportunity to raise the matter directly with the relevant person was something she hadn't expected.

"If you would be so kind Your Majesty I would like that very much." Serenity said

"Now then," Beatrice said with a chuckle, "may I offer my own congratulations? To see love flourish between two souls is always reason for joy and celebration, and to share it with those of such esteem as our Tytorian allies and, dare I say it, extended family; it's beautiful. I also imagine Adriana may share her reign with yours, and to know that you are already building such an affinity between yourselves leaves me reassured in our futures. I imagine you have other guests who should wish to speak with you, so we shall allow that to transpire, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other before our return home."

Beatrice soon found her way to King Michael, "Your Majesty, a beautiful ceremony and a most certainly blessed couple; you must be overjoyed. Although I must say I had to go to extraordinary measures to ensure Emperor Alex would be on his best behaviour at such a dry affair," she sighed. "Getting a spirit which mimics alcohol, yet doesn't contain it, was a pain but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. Look," she pointed with a smirk, "He's sipping again."
