The Flag of Vaguzia

The flag of Vaguzia was designed in the 16th century and became the flag of Vaguzia in 1602. In the Vaguzian flag there can be find a lot of meanings. The green colour stands for Wealth and Prosperity, this is because in the Cult of Izra green is seen as the colour of Wealth and Prosperity. The white in the middle stands for peace between all the former kingdoms in Vaguzia. The Blue colour stands for the Royal House or according to some Vallis, this because the flag of Vallis used to be fully blue with a Fleur de Lys. Then in the middle there can also be seen 2 swords hitting each other, this stands for victory in war.

Visa/Border/Airpoirt info

If you are from Achkaerin or East Moreland you wont need a visa to enter the country.
However if a East Morelander arrives via landborder he will be strictly checked  and if he has any connections with Borlanders, WMRA or Warriors of Helus  he wont be allowed into the country and we will also have the right to take you into custody.

If you are from a country that is member of the AKO or LISA you will not need a visa if the visit is under 7 months.

As said already Borlanders are not allowed to enter Vaguzia.

if you are not from Achkaerin, East Moreland, LISA or AKO a standard procedure will follow once you arrive in Vaguzia by plane:

You and your lugage will be checked at least 2 times for drugs, weapons or bombs after stepping out of the plane and in some circumstances 3 or 4 times.

After that it could be possible that if we find your travel history or behaviour suspicious you will be taken apart to be interrogated. If that happens we will also look for links with the WMRA, Borlanders and Warriors of Helus, if found  you will be taken into custody until your country will fly you back.

All drugs and weapons are illegal in the Kingdom of Vaguzia and you will risk a prison sentence i you have been caught with weapons or drugs.

It is also very important to note that only East-Morelanders are allowed to enter Vaguzia via the East-Moreland/Vaguzia land border, this is for your own safety, the area around the border is very dangerous because of several terrorist organisations and Borlanders and not safe to travel to.

Vaguzia History Lessons Part 1: The Rise of Vaguzia (1400-1500)

During the 14th century the land of Vaguziase was divided by 7 Kingdoms who were fighting each other constantly. The Kingdom of Verdia was the most powerful of the 7 Kingdoms by far but that was mainly because they were very rich, there military wasnt very big or good trained. This all changed when Henrique il Verdia became King of Verdia at age 17 in 1402. Henrique managed to create an very good trained and big army and in 1409 he attacked The Kingdom of Saburi and absolutely destroyed the army of Saburi, only 4 months later Saburi became part of the Verdian Kingdom. You may think the Saburian would hate the Verdians, but when they heard the great speeches of King Henrique about a united Vaguzia, they all were motivated to fight for Verdia. Because of this the army of Verdia became bigger and bigger, but there was growing a new superpower and a danger for Verdia in Vaguzia: The Kingdom of Irogana.

While Verdia was fighting Saburi, The Kingdom of Irogana was building an huge army, not the best trained, but they could hold a sword. And in 1412 Irogana defeated Baramania within 10 days. Now Baramania was part of The Kingdom of Irogana, they were bordering Verdia. But meanwhile in 1412, King Henrique was fighting Gesaja together with 60% of his army. King Henrique however, thought that the poor trained army of Irogana wouldnt be a match for the good trained Verdians, so in the same year he invaded Irogana after a bloody fight in which more than 180,000 got killed. Irogana won this fight, but lost a big part of his army. As revenge, King Jorges of Irogana raided in 1418 Vallis and killed more than 80000 civilians. King Henrique was furious and sended 300,000 men to Domanti, the Iroganase would wait for them on the hills of Domanti. The 8,000 Iroganase faced 300,000 men. Before the battle started, the Iroganase played music on their bagpipes and the Verdians on their Trumpet. And when the fight started, the Iroganase fought like true lions.

In 1432 King Henrique died, and Timotia became King of Verdia. In 1435 King Timotia continued the invasion of Gesaja. In 1438 the big battle of Poletygesus found place, 210,000 died that day. In 1442, King Timotia made one big final attack, this attack was a succes and Gesaja now was part of the Verdian Kingdom. and in 1457 an treaty was signed by all 5 Kingdoms, Vaguzia was born and Timotia was the first King.

The Passage of the Kings

The Passage of the Kings or how the Vaguzians call it: "La Passagio á Royaums" is considered by some to be the most impressive of Vaguzian heritage and history, it is located at the l'Traque river about 20 km before it flows through Vallis. It was built from 1459 till 1470 to honour the legendary King of Gesaja(on the left), Teodoto di Fazio and the first King of Vaguzia(on the right) King Timotia Delacroix. It was also built to warn travellers on a boat that they were entering the Holy Lands of Vallis, Vallis is the holiest city for Izraďtes, and it also a tradition that pilgrims who travel to Vallis, travel by boat so they can go through The Passage of the Kings.

When a King of Vaguzia dies he will also be transported by boat to Vallis, so he can go through the Passage of the Kings. after the Quentin Temple of Vallis, The Passage of the Kings is the most holy place in the Cult of Izra.

Ethnicity: Vaguziase (32%), Morelander (26%), Zimalian (22%), Phuebran (15%), Achkaerinese (3%), Other (2%)
GDP Per Capita: 19,023

History:

Saburi is the largest city in Vaguzia and also the City with the Parliament, yet it is not the Capital of Vaguzia.
The City was founded in 803 by a few fishermen who settled here because it was basically the mos southern point of Vaguzia so it would be easy to find the place if they got lost on sea. Through the years more and more fishermen found out about the place and the little fishermen town grew rapidly. Saburi soon became one of the most wealthy places in Vaguzia which also meant that a lot of people came to Saburi to look for work, this is when Saburi really became a city and in the year 903 Saburi already had 20,000 citizens and it was granted City Rights. In the year 1002 the city had reached a population of 100,000 and also became the most powerful city of the area, this was the beginning of the Kingdom of Saburi, after the creation of the Kingdom of Saburi, it also got their own navy, with the Naval base in the City of Saburi, this made the growth of the city even bigger. When the Kingdom of Vaguzia was created in 1456, Saburi was the 2nd largest city after Vallis, which was the Capital. The Royal Vaguzian Navy now also had their HQ in Saburi. In 1504 Saburi had reached a population of 1,000,000 and now was the biggest city of Vaguzia. Saburi really became important when in the 1520s the Vaguzian started to sail around Mundus to trade and to find land for colonies, Saburi became the biggest port of Vaguzia. Because of the importance of the City, the defense of Saburi was important, which is why you still can still find a lot of cannons and walls in the Port area of Saburi. Saburi remained one of the most important trade cities until now.
Vaguzian Trade ships arriving in Saburi

In the Civil War that lasted from 1982 till 1985, Saburi played a major role as the communist capital, in the Final Battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Saburi, Saburi almost got completely destroyed by bombings and brutal street fights. After this civil war, the Vaguzian Parliament was moved to Saburi to have more control over the city. After the Civil War, some parts of Saburi were completely rebuilt and some parts the ruins were replaced with skycrapers, because of this Saburi now has a very unique mix of Modern and Old architecture.
Royalist troops celebrating the end of the Civil War

during the 90s a lot of Zimalian and Phuebran migrants moved to Saburi, Saburi now started to become a even more multi cultural city than it already was, there were now 6 special quarters: The Cultist Quarter, The Zimalian Quarter, The Izraďte Quarter, The Muslim Quarter, The Buddhist Quarter and the Achkaerinese Quarter.

In the 2010s Achkaerin started investing a lot of money into Saburi, which is why you will see a lot of Achkaerinese companies in Saburi, Riviére is also the biggest company in Saburi.

Sights:

The Achkaerinese Embassy

These 3 towers were built in 2007 and have become the most iconic sight of Saburi ever since. Since 2017 it is being used for the Achkaerinese Embassy, which makes it the largest Embassy of Vaguzia. It can be found in the West Part of Saburi, in the Achkaerinese Quarter, in this area, a lot of Achkaerinese diplomats, businessmen and women and shops can be found. The Embassy is heavily guarded so it will take some time to visit it, but considering the seize of the building, you can already see most of it from a large distance. One of these towers actually isnt part of the Embassy but is a tower of Riviére.

Il Senato (the Senate)
The Senate was built in 1709 as the Saburi City Hall, after this it would be the most iconic sight of Saburi for a long time. in 1985, when the civil war had ended, the Senate was moved to this building and the City Hall was moved to an other building. The building is located in the South of Saburi, near the coast. When you visit the Parliament you first will have to go through a military checkpoint, where you will be checked for bombs or weapons. You are only allowed to take pictures of the Senate with permission of the Military, if you take a picture without permission, the military has the right to arrest you.

The Théo Temple of Izra

The biggest Izraďte temple of Saburi, it was built in 1508 to honour the most important god in the Cult of Izra, Izra himself. In many wars armies have tried to destroy the temple, but this has never happened. In the Battle of Saburi, this was one of the few buildings to still stand, this was seen as a sign from Izra. The temple is located in the middle of the city, in the Izraďte quarter, in this part of the City, the very conservative Izraďtes live, here you will also be very likely to see big posters of King Leonard II. It is really easy to visit this temple and the part of the city, although there sometimes will be extra security checks.

The Temple of Helus in Saburi

the Temple of Helus in Saburi is the 2nd largest Cultist temple in Vaguzia and was built in 1512 to honour Helus. In the civil war, some parts of the Temple were destroyed and were only rebuilt 5 years later. The Temple is located in the middle of the Cultist Quarter, in this part of the City you will find most Cultists that live in Saburi, in the Quarter you will see massive paintings and posters of King David and High Priestess Skye Maddix and also a few of King Leonard II since his assassination, it will take time to enter the Quarter because you will need to pass through a military checkpoint to be checked for bombs and guns, and at the temple itself you will also be checked.

The Grand Market (Il Grande Macado)
The Grand Market is famous for the great atmosphere and the masses of people that go there for really cheap stuff, but besides it being a place where you can buy things really cheap, the street is also really beautiful, with the houses built in classic Vaguzian Renaissance style. It is really easy to visit the market. The Market is also a place where all the different cultures of Saburi come together. The Market exists since almost the creation of the city, when it was used as a fishmarket.

Park Timotia Alejandro
This park is a perfect place to hide if you just have had enough of the noises and crowds. in the park you also have a beautiful view on the rest of the city. In the park you also have loading stations and WiFi, its the perfect place to study, which is also why you will also see a lot of students in this park. The Park was made in 2014 and because of this also has a very modern look. It can be found in the Achkaerinese Quarter, very close to the Embassy.

Royal Vaguzian Military Museum

Perhaps one of the most fun and interesting things to do in Saburi is to visit the Royal Vaguzian Military Museum. In this Museum you will be able to walk through the rich history of the Vaguzian military, from muskets to Tanks and from Artillery to Jets, you can basically find anything related to the Vaguzian Military. The Museum can be found in the north of Saburi and you will probably need a bus or taxi to come there.

The Quarters

Saburi is a very multi-cultural city, and you can see this back in different parts of the City, here a overview of the different Quarters.

Izraďte Quarter:
This is the Quarter where the most conservative Izraďte live and you can see this back, you have multiple temples of the Cult of Izra here where there are constantly people praying. You will also see big poster and paintings of King Leonard II and High Priest Théodor Avecci. The most buildings in this Quarter have a classic Vaguzian renaissance style

Zimalian Quarter:
The Zimalian Quarter is the quarter where the biggest part of Zimalian immigrants in Saburi live. It is by far the most poor and criminal area of Vaguzia, people get murdered here almost weekly and there also is a lot of prostitution and illegal drugs trade. It is not advised to go this Quarter, the area is not safe for tourists, the chance of getting robbed is very big. Most buildings in this Quarters are flats.

Cultist Quarter:
The Cultist Quarter is the place where most Cultists of Saburi live, it is mistakenly called the Morelander Quarter often, while most people who live in this Quarter are indeed of Morelander descent, there are also a lot of Vaguzian Cultists who live here. In this Quarter you will often see big posters and paintings of King David and High Priestess Skye Maddix. It is safe to go to this Quarter but keep in mind that because of the high terror treats, there are security precautions, you will for instance have to pass a checkpoint to enter the Quarter and all Cultist Temples are guarded by the Vaguzian Military. The Quarter has beautiful Vaguzian Renaissance Architecture that looks a lot like the Izraďte Quarter.

Achkaerinese Quarter:
If you want to see how the future looks like, go to the Achkaerinese Quarter, the Achkaerinese Quarter is by far the most modern part of Vaguzia, you can find skycrapers of Achkaerinese companies like Riviére and the architecture of the buildings in this Quarter is truly amazing. In this Quarter the Achkaerinese diplomats and business people live.

Buddhist Phuebran Quarter:
In this Quarter you will find most Buddhist Phuebrans. It is a poor area but with relatively small amounts of crime. You can find a lot of little shops here and great Phuebran restaurants. It is safe to go to this Quarter and people here are known to be very friendly towards tourists. In this Quarter you can also find small Buddhist temples which you are allowed to visit, just be sure to respect their rules. The architecture in this Quarter is really mixed, from high flats to small houses.

Muslim Phuebran Quarter:
This Quarter is next to the Buddhist Quarter and also very looks alike with the Buddhist Quarter. You will be able to see some Mosques in this Quarter. This Quarter is a little more criminal than the Buddhist one, but it is still very safe to visit. The Architecture in this Quarter is exactly the same as in the Buddhist one.

Nightlife:

Saburi is also very notorious for its nightlife. In the City Centre you will find a lot of nightclubs, pubs and bars. Saburi is a city that never sleeps, you can always enter a bar, order a drink or meal. Beer costs around 4$ per pint and liquor also tends to be very cheap. In the Cultist Quarter you will find some BBQ Pubs. When it is Summertime in Saburi you will find a lot of Festivals in the various parks of Saburi. Don't be surprised to see Vaguzian artists like Shakira or Enrique Iglesias perform in Saburise clubs or festivals.

Fun Facts:

Saburi has the biggest port in AK
Saburi is the biggest city in AK
Saburi is without doubt the most Left Wing city of Vaguzia, there has never been a other party the ruling party than the Communist Party (until 1985) and the Socialist Party
Saburi has never been occupied by a foreign force
Saburi is located on the most southern port of Vaguzia

The National Anthem of Vaguzia: The Izraďte Soul

As long as in the heart within,
The Izraďte soul yearns,
And toward the eastern edges, onward,
An eye gazes toward Vallis.

Our hope is not yet lost,
The hope that is two-thousand years old,
To be a free nation in our land,
The Land of Izra and Vallis.

History: The lyrics of the Vaguzian anthem were written by poet Alejandro di Antonio in 1313, this was at the time that most Kingdoms still had Cultist Kings, soon after this poem, a civil war broke out which lead to that all Kingdoms became Izraďte. To celebrate this people went to the streets and sang this poet, in 1798 Alexander Joubert composed the music for the poet and after that it became the national anthem of Vaguzia.

-Please when visiting one of the bigger cities like Saburi, Domanti and Poletygesus, keep in mind that not all neighbourhoods are safe, when you want to enter one of those neighbourhoods you will first need to go past a checkpoint but we strongly advise you to not enter one of these neighbourhoods, shootings happen here daily and they dont care if you are a tourist or not.
-Please if you have visited East Moreland before, keep in mind that Vaguzia might be a little be shocking, you will a see of poverty and people begging for money (except for in Vallis) do not give these beggars money, they are very likely to part of a gypsie gang, so by giving them money you are investing in a criminal industry.
-As stated earlier, please watch out for the gypsie gangs and mafia gangs in the big city, they sometimes will rob you under the threat of weapons.
-DO NOT visit the province of West Moreland, this province is basically a war zone right now with the Vaguzian military clashing with the WMRA on a regular basis.
-When enjoying the nightlife in Saburi or Domanti, please pay attention, prostitution is strictly illegal in Vaguzia and this has caused a situation in which a lot of strip clubs are actually brothels in secret, so how to spot the difference between a strip club and a brothel? Nowadays a lot of strip clubs call theirself a comedy or cabaret club, where as most brothels call theirself strip clubs.
-When you are going to visit the holy city of Vallis be aware that you will need to pass two checkpoints, the first checkpoint, your visa and passport will be checked and at the second checkpoint your whole car will be checked for drugs, alcohol, weapons and bombs. On average these checkpoints will take around 4 hours to pass. Please understand the purpose of these checkpoints, Vallis for a long time has been forbidden to visit for non-Izraďtes, only since 2011 it has been opened for tourists, but it still remains a holy city and a big target for Islamic, Manist and Helusite terrorists, so this is the reason the checkpoints are so strict. Also be aware that it is illegal to wear any kind of religious symbols in Vallis that are non-Izraďte (such as Hijabs, Niqaabs, Burqas, crosses, kippahs etc.) this could get you 2 days of cell.
-You will see a lot of military when travelling in Vaguzias but please keep in mind that you are not allowed to take pictures of them without permission, most soldiers really appreciate it when you ask them for a picture so dont be afraid to ask, If you do take a picture without permission, you could get cell time till 2 weeks.
-You are not allowed to take pictures of government buildings without asking permission from near by soldier first, if you do it without permission you could get 1 week of cell
