Biography:
Imras was the Eshva of Arashkai for twenty-two years, coming to the throne at the age of 18. During his reign, the golden age started by his ancestor, Erel II, came to an end, but despite this, he did not die in battle. No. Rather, he fell in a duel against the famed swordsman (and a distant cousin of his), Esik Hasei. For this, however, Esik Hasei would be exiled from the Empire, forced to wander the world, never to return. This incident is recorded in various sources, including Esik's own personal writings on that day. Nonetheless, two of the Emperor's sons, Ikos and Erel (16 and 11 respectively), would reign after him, with the former abdicating before he had any heirs, instead wishing to travel the world and discover new lands.

Though most of his accomplishments in life were after his time spent as Eshva of Arashkai, Ikos did prove to be a decent leader for his people, though in a time when they needed another Khorai I or Erel II. Nonetheless, wishing to see the world without having to worry about the Empire any time he left, he would abdicate in 1353 in favor of his younger brother. When he returned in 1359, he would settle down (though he had been granted the title of Zhatai upon his abdication, he had never visited his new estate) and marry Vira Nikin, the daughter of a lesser nobleman. To this day, the House Isin of the Hailun Clan still persists, though its interests now are in the automotive industry, with the Isin Motor Company bearing its name.

Nonetheless, when he died at the age of 33, leaving his seven year-old son to take his place, the ripples it cause would ultimately lead the Empire into ruin for years to come.

Biography:
The Vakhet Eshva, otherwise known as Arkan I, was an Arashin Eshva of the 15th century, as well as the founder of the restored Empire of Arashkai under the rule of Clan Sherkoz. As a direct descendant of the the previous emperors, many flocked to him, viewing him as the legitimate heir to the throne when he became the ruler over the entirety of the Misra region, even taking the old Imperial Capital at Khoros. By the time he was 38, he had successfully reunified enough of the Emperor to be formally proclaimed Eshva, and he would spent the latter part of the decade solidifying his reign before his sights turned to beyond the Empire's borders. Starting in 1481, his forces would sail east to the island known as Rusan, subjugating it within but three years. However, the greatest prize yet remained: The reclamation of the lands once held by his predecessors. In 1485, he personally led his army across the Feltasi mountains, seizing several cities on the other side from the peoples who had settled there in the prior century. And yet, this too wasn't enough: He had to fulfill the last dream of his great ancestors, that of an Arashin empire stretching throughout all of Northern Ardia. This would be a dream that he would not fulfill, though in the pursuit of it, he would bring the Empire close to it's territorial Zenith, with his great grandson, Imras, achieving this before his death in 1545. For his part, however, Arkan would die in combat during the Battle of Kanat in 1498, though later records would embellish it over time, with the famed playwright Varen Arasai (c. 1681 - 1756), in his play based around the event, the Battle of the Twin Mountains, depicting it as a duel between him and a descendant of the famed swordsman, Esik Hasei, who sought vengeance against the Empire which had banished his family. Regardless of what story is told, upon his death, he was enshrined within temples across the Empire, over time becoming closely associated with the Arashin War god, Veren, to the point that in some sects they are treated as one in the same.

     Eshva of Arashkai (1533 - 1545)

     Ikos Vahram ve Sherkoz (Son)
Varen II Vahram ve Sherkoz (Grandson)
Biography:
Among the rulers of Arashkai in the 16th Century, none perhaps stand out more than Imras IV, who, during his reign, would bring the Empire to it's territorial zenith in the year 1538. Due to the nature of his position as Eshva, that being jointly as the ruler of Arashkai and the High Priest of the Ishitic Faith (a role only dropped in the 1890s), he would abdicate the throne in 1545, with the common consensus being that, due to the many repetitive rituals that he needed to perform, the incumbent deserved a retirement. However, though he would retire from the role, he would nonetheless find himself unable to be content with his existence and would, as a result, assist in military affairs whenever he was needed. He would, in time, live to see his line lose control over the Empire, though with the death of his grandson, he did play a significant role in selecting the next ruler, this task being shared with his firstborn, Varen, who had also abdicated. By the end of his life, he had lived through five Eshva other than himself. He died in 1583 at the age of 71.

His death led to the calling of a council, or Hyokai by his predecessors to select a new ruler from among the clan. While neither his adoptive father nor his grandfather would take the throne, it would be decided instead that, in absence of any eligible heirs with support from the line of Aren I, the throne would instead pass to a great-grandson of Arkan I through his second son, Prince Jishek: Arkan II.

Biography:
Arkan II was an Arashin Eshva of the 16th century. His reign is notable as being the beginning a brief decline in the Empire's authority, which led to a brief revolt in the last year of his reign. The next century of the Empire's history would be marked by further unrest, largely due to the local lords that still retained rule over the provinces. Before his death, he insisted that his daughter, Kiri, be allowed to inherit the throne, a wish that would be fulfilled. However, his line would die out with her (as she lacked any children from a matrilineal marriage), and the throne would pass to his nephew afterwards. Arkan II, the Sohan Eshva, would pass away on the 14th of December, 1568, after being thrown from his horse during a journey to the Monastery at Mount Feltas for his yearly pilgrimage.

Biography:
The only woman to hold the position of Eshva (unless the rulers of Misra are considered as Eshva), Kiri was born to at-the-time Prince Arkan Vahram of Clan Sherkoz, and as a result, she was never expected to inherit. Despite this, her father ensured that she have the best education that money could buy. Before her father's accession to the throne, she would marry into Clan Khasa. This would be a patrilineal marriage, with her children as a result being disqualified from succession under the laws of that era. Nonetheless, when she came to the throne at age 30, she had already proven a skilled diplomat, though this was on a local level between the various principalities, duchies, and other states within the at-the-time feudal empire. During her reign, this would extend to the Empire's neighbors, with her successfully negotiating a non-aggression pact with the Ardian Empire, a pact which would last until the early 18th century. She died in 1593 at the age of 55 following a battle with cancer. Following her reign, the throne would pass to her cousin, Khatas.

Notable for:
     Being the Eshva of Arashkai
Being the last great Eshva of Arashkai, with his rule being the only in the 17th century not to have a major revolt
Being a dutiful general of the Empire before becoming Eshva
Centralizing the Empire into a de-facto Absolutist state with the Eshva at it's head
Beginning the assimilation of the Avosai on the Island of Rusan and its surrounding islands. This process would formally come to an end in 1899, though by then, the Island's population identified predominantly as Arashin.

     Esha Kosai (Grandmother)
Biography:
A famed general before becoming Eshva of Arashkai, Khatas I would, through his fair rule and wide-reaching reforms, ensure that his reign would not see any major revolts. In order to do this, he implemented the eponymously-named "Khatasi Reforms" which would see the feudal holdings of the nobility lose autonomy, though they would maintain their positions as the heads of the prefectural and provincial governments and would maintain their titles. In this way, the main part of the class structureŚ the armies levied by the nobilityŚ would be eliminating, allowing for the central government to exercise greater control over the nation as a whole. Nonetheless, this was a task that would be quite difficult to achieve, and indeed it did face many troubles, but the reforms would largely pass (with revision, of course) a few years before the Eshva died. Khatas I died shortly before the new year in 1617. With his death, the Empire entered into a period of regression, at least externally, and the internal conflicts resumed, though greatly lessened.

His death would lead to a war with the Ardian Empire between 1689 and 1693, though it would end in a white peace.

Biography:
Arkan III was an Arashin Eshva of the late 17th and early 18th centuries, serving in the role from 1688 to 1703. Following his retirement, he would spend the later years of his life writing a history of the Arashin as a people, now known as the Yasei-kas after the ex-Emperor's regnal name. Unlike past works, it relied almost entirely on actual records, often attempting to discern real events from fiction, though, due to the time, it does have some historical inaccuracies, at least from a modern perspective.
