General Yacobs had been at Illumic Command watching various dots on a map showing where the various CNN forces where on the rapid deployment exercise which had been called a few days earlier. The Morelander ships had reached their point 16 hours ago and where now steaming back towards East Moreland ready to deploy in a defensive screen ready for when the ES, UC and Lodjain vessels arrived. When news of the tsunami reached her she looked down at the map on the screen.

"OK, I'm making an executive decision, exercise is cancelled." She thought for a moment, "The route of that thing is going to make a mess of the islands" she mused while still thinking. "Send the CNN guys the following message please." She scribbled onto paper to be sent through to the various fleets. She suspected that by now the ES fleet was three days away at best, the UC fleet from home waters two while the one from the Celtic Protectorate just over 30 hours, Lodja would probably arrive in five days thanks to their slow response time. It gave time to forewarn them.

Quote from: Message relayed to CNN forces

Rapid Deployment exercise is cancelled. This is due to tsunami activity in the Mhorish close to Nurashima/Barnacle Island. It is likely the islands will be hit causing significant damage. I therefore request that you do not stand down but rather aim to arrive in the region as soon as possible to aid in humanitarian efforts if required. Ships coming from the West should find safe harbour until such as the tsunami has passed.

Next she contacted the governments of Himeyama and Heyra to notify them the East Moreland fleet was on standby to aid should it be required. "Get the Ekra-Badger into the region once the tsunami has passed." the messages were sent and the crew of the GEV had pulled into a cove on the Southern coast of East Moreland, once they got the all clear they'd be at the island in two hours.

Rear Admiral Rodolfo Zangara was the overall commanding officer of the ES Fleet originally headed to the Illumic for the yearly CNN military exercise which turned into a fullborne aid operation after the recent tsunami htting Barnacle, destroying countless lives and property; Considering the Normans were already on their way they couldn't get rid of 'unnecessary' vessels although the assets belonging to the air force were easier to ditch as they could easily fly back to the Ecclesiastical State as soon as General Yacobs of EM announced the breaking news, the 2,500 brigade of marines or also called San Marco Forces were going to be quite useful, commanded by Cololonel Rémi Bachelot. They were about 1.5 days from reaching their destination and aiding the Heyrans was certainly no exception, a close nation to the Ecclesiastical State stretching centuries ago, it also felt as the most natural thing in the world.

As per every day unless critical situations demand the cancellations, Rear Admiral Zangara was one of many sailors and marines participating in the Catholic masses onboard the naval vessels, hosted by the ships' chaplains, this time their prayers particularly focusing on those who've suffered from or lost anything or anyone to the dreadful tsunami in the Mhorish-Illumic area. It was however a matter of time before the horrors of reality soon came upon them and then it was a matter of whether faith and mercy were enough.

"Father, We come to you in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. We ask for your loving Mercy and kindness toward all who suffer as a result of the Tsunami which has devastated the people of Barnacle and those living in the Mhorish-Illumic area. Lord, for those who lost their lives, and those who mourn them, we ask for your loving mercy. Lord, for those who were wounded, we ask for healing and help. Lord, for those reaching out to the wounded, give them the supernatural graces, and the practical and economic resources they need in their efforts. Lord, for those who are searching for the dead, assist them in their effort so that all who lost their lives in this tragedy can be buried with dignity. Father, may this natural disaster and true human tragedy become an invitation for your people to enter into the ongoing mission of reaching out to all of the poor and seeing in their face and in their need the face of your Son. During this time, we say "Yes" to your invitation to practice the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. May this human tragedy become for your people an occasion of grace and invitation to love. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen"

It wasn't often that the Emperor of Achkaerin Peter Azurewind had down time, let alone family time yet here he was he had a whole afternoon and evening with no meetings or appointments, the first time for weeks that had happened, he had a nice evening planned out for him and his wife. And then just as he was contemplating an afternoon nap he was interrupted by two of his advisors Nettie Taylor and Celine Tyler
"You need to see this." Nettie said handing Peter her electronic tablet that displayed the letter from Heyra's President
"How many?" Peter asked
"No estimate yet but it's a tsunami and by eyewitness reports it's a big one." Celine said
"We have a witness?" Peter asked
"The Sharingan was in the area at the time." Celine said
"You talked to Yuki since?" Peter asked
"Yeah she's fine." Celine said "She got her ship north and turned in behind the tsunami once she had the chance."

"Ok the CNN exercises were announced to be in that area chances are they'll converge on the area but they'll be drawn out arrival wise given the distance involved." Peter said "Celine what have we got in the area?"
"Here." Celine said she handed Peter a list of Achkaerinese vessels "Most are stationed as part of the Lakhzov situation but a few are being shifted free from that given developments there."
"Ok send the Sharingan back into the area, move the Nebula down from the Illumic and have the Leonaise escort them, and get the Athos Mishima out of Somerset waters to help." Peter perused the list of ships a little longer "Where was the Rhyth Icerider?"
"Behind the tsunami" Celine said
"Move them into the area as well. Oh and deploy the Volga out of Revana." Peter said "Contact the Heyran and Himeyaman governments let them know we're ready to aid if necessary, Nettie you do that."
"Ok." Nettie said "We'll need someone on our end to talk politics."
"When do you leave?" Peter asked
"You want me to go?" Nettie asked
"You're Rokkenjiman by birth that gives you some credibility with the Heyran's." Peter said "Get a JAG officer, get on a flight to Somerset and hitch a ride on the Athos Mishima"
"I'll be gone in two hours." Nettie said "Don't tell the Athos Mishima to wait, get them going, I'll grab a helicopter and catch up."

"What are our estimates?" Peter asked looking at Celine as Nettie went to get packed
"Sharingan is probably six hours out, the Rhyth Icerider was en route to Gowu so turning her around puts her about twenty six hours out, the Volga is approximately three days away but more likely three and a half days because she's in port and they'll have to load supplies, the rest are up near Somerset so approximately two days." Celine said
"Well if it's the best we can do it's the best we can do." Peter said "I'm just glad it's Yuki we've got closest."
"She won't be but I get your point." Celine said "Grumwald was one heck of an experience for her."
"It's an experience that'll help her here hopefully." Peter said

Grand Admiral Hannibal Kane stood upon the bridge of the East Moreland flahship observing the action. When the call came from Illumic Command to cancel the exercise and convert it to an emergency response he grunted in approval. Heading to the communications station, Kane addressed the officer.

"I require access to a communications terminal."

After a few minutes working the Seaforth Naval Channels, Kane reported to the Captain.

"Captain, the Royal Seaforth Naval has two Wolfpacks here in the Mhorish Sea. One is close by and I would like to attach them to your forces for the duration of the local emergency. All three vessels are experienced in collaborating with the East Moreland Navy. The other Wolfpack is situated on the far side of Barnacle Island. They have located the epicentre of the earthquake and I have ordered the Exodus Class to maintain position over the epicentre while its Sovereign Class escorts spread out along the fault line. Al three submarines will deploy sensor drones in the area and together they will monitor for further activity. Being on scene, they will be able to provide us with an effective early warning system in the event of aftershocks or a subsequent earthquake interfering with or threatening rescue operations."

Ecclesiastical State of Christ

To:- President Jonathan F. J. Blackwind

Salve Il mio buon amico, I just wish to inform you that in the darkness of recent, tragic events regarding the devastation caused by the Tsunami, The Ecclesiastical Council and I have decided to increase the annual $1 billion donation to $2 billion per year, as we could imagine the long term effects upon the Heyran state finances, which would be unfortunate to a extreme degree. Fret not amico, the Ecclesiastical State in the name of the Lord's always willing to stand by those we call our friends and allies, with pure and genuine Christian charity; That is if you accept this offer of additional monetary aid.

Take Care and God Bless

The Ekra-Bagder was made for missions such as this. It was designed specifically to get into an area quickly and deploy a combination of manpower and equipment, generally it was full of Red Legionnaires, a few RHIB's, refuelling pods and a basic field hospital stored in crates, today however the Red's had been replaced with members of the Royal Medical Corps, many of whom were enjoying the unique expereince of the ride in the engineering marvel. The thought however of what would great them upon arrival concerned many. "Two minutes out" The Air Loadmaster called as he straightened up on the approach, about 1km off the coast of Voltox he cut the throttle allowing the Ekra-Badger to slow and then gradually sink into the water. He guided the vessel to a stop in shallow water turning so the rear of the aircraft faced the shoreline.

"Wait here, begin getting things ready to unload, Sergeant Mayweather you're with me." Major Alice Bradbury of the Royal Medical Corps instructed her unit. She was a rather short woman with blonde hair tied back into a rather serious bun, she had a pair of blue latex gloves tucked into her epalets ready for deployment. She splashed ashore, the water coming up to her knees, she wasn't sure whether this was left over from the tsunami or normal here but once ashore they began looking for someone who knew what was going on at which point she presented herself to the authorities. "East Moreland military as promised, we've a small field hospital, some basic supplies. Might I suggest you let us find the most seriously injured and get them to hospitals either in mainladn Heyra or East Moreland?" she asked unsure of what actual damage had been caused.

The INS Sharingan had had an eventful twenty four hours or so, they'd been on a standard patrol then they'd had to scramble north when the tsunami warning had come in and now here they were, having evaded the destructive wave they were approaching the island chain as part of the Achkaerinese response to the aid effort. The ship's captain was Yuki Tyler and what she was anticipating to find in the island chain was awakening memories of the catastrophe in the UNP, she still had nightmares about the days when she'd been commanding the Grumwald position and ensuring the safe evacuation of the refugee's. She knew her ship was still around three hours away at top speed and heaven's knew what they were going to find when they got there. She'd read the briefing packet sent down by the brass, it had for obvious reasons been rather rapidly put together, it laid out a simple enough plan detailing the Achkaerinese vessels that were en route, what the ETA's were and other details as well.

"Commander Beckett." Yuki said addressing her second in command
"Skipper?" Beckett asked
"Mark these coordinates here." Yuki said tapping the surface of the interactive table on the bridge, a feature on all Achkaerinese military vessels "As our destination. Until we hear something."
"Yes ma'am." Beckett said
"I was hoping to never again have to be near something like this." Yuki said she sighed this wasn't a good day for anything by the look of it "Let's make contact."

Further to the east of the island chain was the INS Rhyth Icerider, an Achkaerinese Musketeer class vessel, she'd been en route to Gowu on her maiden voyage and had thankfully been away from the danger area when the tsunami warning had been issued, but now she'd been turned around and was heading for Barnacle as well. It was sure proving to be some experience in terms of getting to know a new ship for Captain Fiona Baines, she stood leaning against the wall at the back of her bridge watching the crew respond to the crisis before them. She walked to her table and checked their position and distance, give it a couple of hours and they'd be within range, she also saw the Ecclesiastical State's fleet in the vicinity, well that was something helpful at least.

"Prepare the drones for flight and standby on the word." Fiona said

To President Blackwind

Mr President on behalf of the Achkaerinese military allow me to convey our condolences in regards to the tragic events of the last few hours, we have several ships converging on the area ready to aid in whatever capacity they can, my ship the INS Sharingan is presently the closest of these vessels with others estimating their arrival times over the next sixty hours though we believe we will have people in place and offering aid well before that, should you wish to have further details please do not hesitate to contact me.

My main reason for this communique Mr President is twofold, firstly I'd like to enquire as to where it would be possible to meet whoever is coordinating the aid operation and secondly I'd like your agreement to utilize the capabilities of the INS Rhyth Icerider, an Achkaerinese drone carrier in conducting aerial reconnaisance of the islands for the purposes of assessing damage and confirming the locations of as many survivors as possible.

Signed

Captain Yuki Tyler
Commanding Officer, INS Sharingan

Major Bradbury left one of her unit with the injured man while they made their way to the creche area, the unit had served in Uppsala and before that Safraen so they were used to scenes of human suffering. The plan would be simple, the officers all of whom were doctors would set up a base of treatment, meanwhile the senior NCO's who were highly experienced nurses would move between those injured and who were being brought in. They had pouches on their webbing with stringed cards on, they would take each casualty, check them over and give them a card tied to their right arm, it would have a code written on it. A letter "A" indicated that the person was walking wounded and needed limited medical care meanwhile at the opposite end of the spectrum was letter "F" which formally meant the persons chance of survival was minimal, or in a way many saw it "F" stood for "fucked".

As the Doctors began setting up their base of operations the 100 or so members of the unit hurried over with backpacks, crates and various other bundles of equipment. They rolled out plastic rolls and plugged battery operated pumps into them inflating a series of tents, some of which hadn't even completed raising before teams unfolded treatment tables and trauma equipment. Even as the first of those with letters "D" were being carried into the tents to have treatment around 30 with "E"'s on their arm were being loaded into the back of the Ekra-Badger.

An hour after they'd hit the coastline of the island the Ekra-Badger had been refuelled using its internal stores and was now loaded up. "Major Bradbury we'll be back in around three hours" Sgt.Major Castledine radioed in as the GEV began its take off. En route to the mainland five of the patients died, it was to be expected with the extent of their injuries and no sooner had they reached the mainland than they began unloading the vehicle, the 100 or so members of the Royal Medical Corps quickly helping remove the injured. There was little time to clean the back as the second wave of Morelanders carried four rucksacks each onto the aircraft one on their back, one on their front and one in each hand. Each rucksack was stocked with equipment they'd need for while on the island and even before the rear doors had closed again the Ekra-Badger headed back towards the stricken island making landfall again three and a half hours after it had left.

Within seconds of the reply being sent to Yuki it had been relayed as an order to the Rhyth Icerider Fiona was straight on the ships intercom to the drone control room where the duty officer for the tour Flight Leader Mika Saikolov took the call
"Drone Ops." Mika said when she answered the intercom
"Operation Eagle Eye is go." Fiona said
"Copy that. We'll patch in to the bridge when we're airborne." Mika said, she turned around "We're go, get the drones ready and get them in the sky, you know the drill."

In Somerset Nettie was walking through the Achkaerinese camp situated there because of the Lakhzov situation alongside General Kakashi Fuji, Nettie was pulling on her Rokkenjiman military uniform.
"I swore I'd never wear this thing again." Nettie said "It doesn't feel right."
"You fought in the Second Patriotic War didn't you?" Kakashi asked
"Yeah but that doesn't mean I earned the uniform, compared to you and everyone I'm about to go and work with." Nettie said
"Soldiers, sailors and pilots all respect rank." Kakashi said "They generally have to. Anyway here's your helicopter."

Kakashi opened the side door for Nettie and the Rokkenjiman woman had to smile
"No one said you were the JAG officer assigned to this." Nettie said
"Yeah well I'm as surprised as you." it was Serenity Azurewind, not in this instance acting as Crown Princess but as a Lieutenant in the Navy and an officer of the JAG Corps.
"How long's the trip?" Nettie asked
"Probably a few hours." Serenity said
"Good you can brief me on the legalities then." Nettie said
"I'll do my best." Serenity said

A few hours later the pair were on the INS Athos Mishima and hurried into a briefing room with the Captain of the vessel Anne Shelby where they were on a conference call via SCION with, Yuki, Fiona and the Captain of the INS Nebula one Captain Adam Foyle

"As you can see from your screens it's a pretty bleak outlook at first glance." Fiona was saying the others looking at the first pictures and footage of the drone flights "The city of Hakae-Shima appears to have been devastated by the tsunami, worse news is that just up the coast the Tansei naval base seems heavily damaged and is likely unusable, same story with Tansei air base, not exactly useable."
"Survivor search?" Nettie asked
"Underway we've got drones up and flying twenty four hours now." Fiona said
"I'll be on station in thirty minutes." Yuki said "Fiona how far away are you?"
"About sixteen hours." Fiona said
"Captain Shelby?" Yuki asked
"About twenty eight hours." Anne said
"Captain Foyle?" Yuki asked
"Twenty six give or take." Adam said

"Ok once I get on station I'm going to go and see the Heyran's on site and coordinate our effort with them" Yuki said "I suggest we focus our initial concern on Hakae-Shima. Captain Shelby once the islands are within range I need your helicopters in the air, because we're going to need bodies in the city and we're going to need engineers looking over the air base. Adam..."
"We should pull a Grumwald and camp the Nebula right on top of the city." Adam said
"Agreed." Yuki said "When you get here. Ms Taylor..."
"Yes?" Nettie asked
"Once the Athos Mishima is able to get helicopters airborne I need you and the Lt on a helicopter and over at whatever command centre the Heyran's have established." Yuki said "You watch the politics and legalities we'll handle the job in hand."
"No argument from me." Nettie said

A few minutes later the call ended and on the Sharingan Yuki turned to Commander Beckett
"Off Hakae-Shima." Yuki said
"Yes Ma'am." Beckett said
"Get the Stymphalia ready I'm going to go and coordinate with the locals." Yuki said

The Berber and her escort, the Akan frigate, was being prepared for a mission to the Heyran Government while a letter was being written in a massive hurry by the Foreign Office. Soon enough, the latter was sent right away in time to see the two ships fully fueled, now only waiting for troops and volunteers and relief workers to get on board and for other things to be put on the ships.

Quote
The Free Nations of Sirinisi

To the Heyran Government,

It seems to us that one of your territories was hit by a tsunami, causing considerable damage to property and environment as well as loss of life. In response to this emergency, we would like to request your permission to send the Berber and the Akan to your seas so we can provide support in terms of security as well as relief. Should this letter reach you, our ships would be almost ready to sail from Sirinisi with hundreds of men and many tons of supplies. We hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

The Foreign Office
Whatever you say, Walker. No matter what happens next, don't be too hard on yourself. After all you've done, you can still go home...

With the news reaching quickly the tiny Priory of New Zion, there had to be aid sent as part of the natural and instinctive mind of the ordinary Christian, including the Grand Master and Prince Donald J. von Trump, who albeit sleazy, understood the importance of fulfilling what the faith required of him even though he knew himself and a few others that it wasn't his finest forte, as well as looking good in the international, public eye although it would cost possibly (insert a favorite word) of caaaaaeeeesh. Nonetheless he had to remain commited and after all he had to handle this like the true and professional businessmen he was once before full-time, what could possibly go wrong with NZ, the local Church and everything else under his leadership and guidance despite facing the anger of the Pope and excommunication plus the rage of the international community?

Prioy of New Zion

To:- The Heyran Government,

First of all, such a disaster that has been brought upon the Island of Barnacle; My most sincere sympathies and affections to the countless victims whose lives have without a shadow of doubt been affected and more than destroyed enough, as well as the devastation of property present on the island that has so far been providing a stress-free and comfortable life. On behalf of the Priory of New Zion, the Sovereign Military Order of St. Lazarus and the Celestian Catholic Church we sent two of our Inquisitor Class Frigates as well as two Albatross Seaplanes to provide aid in terms of security and relief. Please note that more vehicles of air and sea may be provided if necessary; As I write this message the naval vessels are currently half-way en route while the Seaplanes should momentarily reach Barnacle and park beside the disaster zones.

May we hear from you as soon as possible and may the Divinity act merciful for a better future,

Grand Master and Prince Donald J. von Trump

Yuki stepped off the helicopter in what was definitely a damaged Tansei Air Base but it was at least slightly usable if not mostly usable, she picked up her radio from her belt and decided to get a status report as she went looking for the person in charge to let them know they'd arrived and what they were planning to do.
"Beckett what's the latest?" Yuki asked
"We've anchored just outside Hakae-Shima." Beckett said "Sea Dragon's are inbound."
"Make sure they clear well out of the way before the Nebula gets here." Yuki said "Which will be?"
"About twenty four hours." Beckett said "Advance teams from there will be airborne in six."
"Copy that." Yuki said "How does Hakae-Shima look?"
"Bad." Beckett said "Might be worse than Grumwald."
"I hope not." Yuki said, shuddering at the thought, "If it gets worse than that then we really are in trouble."

In the bay just outside Hakae-Shima three Sea Dragon's made their final approach each was carrying personnel and supplies. Two were heading for the water outside the city the third was heading for the remains of the naval base. It had taken a little longer to organize this but personnel in the right place had meant it was just a case of getting the planes to the people. As the third split off the other two gently touched down in the water, aboard the aircraft the senior officer Sergeant Major Alya Simmons was on the radio to the other Sea Dragon.

"No heroics, no taking risks, you all know the drill you've been here before." Alya said "We've got twenty four hours until the Nebula is on station once that happens we'll have a hospital until then we split tasks, Echo team you establish a basic medical outpost at the shore, Foxtrot you're on triage, everyone else is assuming SAR protocol, that's initial assessment, triage and any emergency care that's required, it's a big city, there's a lot of ground to cover and there's a lot of rubble as well, so be careful and keep in contact. Golden rule is radio for assistance if you need it."

As the planes came to a stop, the doors opened and Alya led them out, the first Achkaerinese responders were on sight and about to get stuck in.

The third Sea Dragon was meanwhile touching down as close to the Tansei Naval Base as they could get, there was an extra concern in play on this one. The man in charge was Captain Sam Venables, the senior combat medic all the way from the very frozen north was Sergeant Bridget Portman, the pair had spent much of the flight talking through their briefing and what they had to do, it was simple enough a survivor search of the base combined with making sure that there wasn't a risk of any further surprises such as explosions from anything left behind. It may well have been the case that the Himeyaman's had abandoned post but given they only had a twelve hour window to get clear that likely wasn't sufficient time to get everything out in terms of equipment and ammunition so there was reason for caution.

"We do this section by section." Sam said "We clear a section before you enter it, any survivors you do your thing, whether it gets too dangerous is my call understood?"
"Yes sir." Bridget said
"And when I say get out I mean get out." Sam said
"Yes sir." Bridget said, at that moment they touched down
"I mean it." Sam said
"I know sir." Bridget said, she somehow had the feeling that this was going to be a long day.

The helicopter carrying the HQ Element of the relief effort touched down at what was left of Tansei Airfield, the local forces all but washed away and being in small number anywhere they had agreed to international aid. The outfield was slightly boggy and the runway littered with a variety of flotsam and jetsam ranging from the silt of the ocean to a few broken vehicles. A large groove down the centre of the tarmac showed the scars of where something heavy had bounced its way past. The effort was headed by Brigadier Pate who was accompanied by a four captain escort made up of Captains Boyer, Winters, Carmen and Gilchrist. They surveyed the damage and then watched as men from their unit unloaded a large tent from the rear of the helicopter quickly beginning to erect it as the five men made their way towards the air traffic control tower, a wet line around the cement showing where a waist high flow of water had passed by. Pate picked a tip toed route through the boggy ground until he was inside the mud strewn staircase. By the time he'd climbed the steps to the top he was beginning to feel his heart pounding in his chest. From the top he had a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and while it wasn't a total loss, after all they were someway inland the scene was one that would mean anything other than helicopters would have no where to operate from for the foreseeable future. A large map was pinned to a board. "Who came up with this" he asked as he took out a thick black marker from his sweaters arm pocket. He quickly resketched the boundaries. "Communicate them to those offering aid" he snapped at Boyer who began making various radio calls.

"Listen to me now" Pate waited until his teams gathered round the board. "The situation is as follows. The tsunami has now passed and it has done considerable damage to the outer areas of the island chain. Here in the centre we have damage but it should be more superficial. We face several issues, many freshwater stores will be contaminated and infastructure such as the sewers will be overflowing. We are looking at likely outbreaks of cholera in places such as Voltox and Hakae-Shima unless we get word to locals quickly. We also have no electric and many of the roads are impassable." He noted several men jotting things down on their notepads. "The mission is very simple and three fold, first our primary mission is to preserve life. That means finding anyone injured and treating them in the first instance, that may mean evacuation to the mainland of Heyra, or also to Portworth in East Moreland which has been offered. The secondary mission is to provide neccessities to residents, that means shelter, food, water and heating. While we're lucky this hit in summer and the weather will be mild people will have lost everything and will be wet, hyperthermia is a big concern. The tertiary mission is to begin clean up, the sooner we get the place tidy the less chance of infections and the sooner things go back to normal." There were nods around him.

"So this is how we shall execute the mission, island chain has been split into zones, all command decisions will be taken by a Heyran officer who will be working alongside those nations who have called offering support. Therefore zones assigned reflect three things, first who can get here with the most support, second where that support is best allocated and finally the nations likely Geographic support. Ourselves and a contingent from the Ecclesiastical State will hold the centre, it is likely to be the least badly damaged and therefore reflects the fact the Pope's men will likely be here in 36 hours.  The Morelanders will take the Western flank, the have begun landings with that weird plane ship of theirs already and can bring supplies in within a few hours. They also have experience rebuilding airfields and Voltex will require some work. I am asking them to reopen the airfield, this shall become a casualty collection area, from there planes should soon be operational based on their results in Mavrosia and Lakhzovia. That will act as a funnel for bringing large supplies in and getting people out.

"The Rokkenjimans will take the island chain at the North and North East. They will be using their naval and aviation assets to search the villages of these islands and find casualties. Any they find will be either evacuated for medical treatment or a base camp established where they can be housed. Seaforth will undertake a similar operation in the East and South East. We expect the first Rokkenjimans to arrive in 24 hours and the Seaforthians to be not too far behind. I will be asking the Lodjains, who will get here in 48 hours to set up at Tansei Naval base, they have a smaller navy but we can utilise their aviation assets for searches and evacuations to Voltex.

Achkaerin already have a small naval force of two ships near Hakae-shima. My understanding is these crews had served at Grunwald when the Alanders tried to help Uppsala, they will conduct similar operations here and aim to filter people either to Tansei Naval base once the Lodjains have it re-opening or by moving them to Voltex Airfield. Finally supporting the same mission as the Rokkenjimans and Seaforthians will be Ui Cenneslaig, the Cennegs will have two carrier units arriving one in 36 hours the other in 48. While these assets are arriving we shall be using what assets we have and the Morelanders will utilise to try and identify just how much damage has been done and issue priorities for search and rescue operations. Any questions?" Pate looked around and saw nothing but shakes of the head.  Captain Boyer will attach himself to the Morelanders, Winters to the Rokkenjimans and Seaforthians, Carmen to Achkaerin and the Cennegs and Gilchrist will oversee operations at Tonsei Naval Base. I shall remain here which we'll begin cleaning up within the next few hours. It is my intention once we've got things running to ask for some of the Morelander engineers to come here and see if we can use that temporary airfield of theirs here, I believe at present though we may have big issues with that runway gouge. You have your orders, relay them to the forces sending aid."

"Yes sir" the room echoed as each set about what they knew had to be done. Boyer boarded a helicopter and headed off to find the Morelanders field hospital while Captain Carmen waited for a seperate ride to  Hakae-Shima in search of where the Achkaerin forces had begun working.

The Berber and her escort, the Akan frigate were soon ready and waiting. All things were taken care of and the crews and volunteers and other personnel were starting to get accounted for. After only just a little more paper work and instructions, the two ships were allowed to leave while at the nearest airport, a Sirinisian private jet carrying the 3rd Triarch and a secretary and a guard started to take off for Tansei airbase while the ships tried to make their way to Voltox Harbour from Sirinisi.

All the while, the government attempted to communicate with those already in the disaster area, asking for permission for their ships and plane to offer assistance. And to also ask the Heyrans for a zone of their own.

"Captain Carmen. I'm Captain Tyler Achkaerinese Navy." Yuki said once she spotted the Heyran officer after the briefing, the pair were soon on the Achkaerinese helicopter and heading back to the Sharingan, it wasn't a long trip and soon they were on the destroyer's bridge. The table at the back of the bridge now had on it's fancy computer surface a map of Hakae-Shima.

"It's a fairly basic plan but for situations like this those are the best ones." Yuki said "In the next few hours the INS Nebula which is a hospital ship will arrive when it does we'll station it off the coast and use it as the main treatment centre while we have teams carrying out search and rescue operations within the city, we'll be going block by block because that's the safest method for us and those we're searching for. Our main concern is avoiding a repeat of Grumwald." she paused "A large mass of people in one place in these sorts of circumstances can become a melting pot for disease, what we have to do is keep the traffic flow going to try and combat that as much as we can. We'll continue to use our drones to keep an aerial view of the situation. But rest assured Captain with a few hours we'll be up and running at full capabilities."

The Rokkenjiman contingent for aid to Barnacle, led by IRN Excalibur, continued its approach from QAMB and was expecting its arrival within the coming hours. The United States would arrive some hours after the Rokkenjiman fleet to provide housing for those displaced by the tsunami as a supplement to arrangements already provided for, whilst the Rokkenjiman hospital ship Angel would make its arrival some time after that.

To the Vice Presidency for Foreign Affairs Therz,

That is no problem. We will keep on assisting you until you and your people are all right. We hope this will be received warmly as you replied to us in the same way.

From the  Foreign Office of the Free Nations of Sirinsi

The Berber and her escort, the Akan frigate were now in the waters, sailing as fast as they could through international waters and towards the disaster areas. Meanwhile, above them, the private jet carrying a Triarch was already flying over. The jet went faster and would reach Barnacle in no time than the ships.

Grandmaster and Prince von Trump's surprise aid visit to Barnacle (OOC: Article Put on Hold, For Now)

Grandmaster and Prince Donald J. von Trump tosses paper towels into a crowd as he hands out supplies at the tsunami-stricken island of Barnacle

Grand Master and Prince Donald J. von Trump made a surprise visit alongside the Order of the Holy Cross bid to reassure Heyran citizens in Barnacle that the New Zionite government and the illustrious order would support them. Trump met with responders and toured a damaged street in a whirlwind tour of the Island, pledging to share some of the bounty of the New Zionite nation's coffers to provide relief. But it was Trump's visit to a local chapel that brought a vigorous response from a local crowd.

First, the grandmaster handed out packages of 'Nasty' branded rice to people who came to see him and collect supplies. Then, in a display that drew immediate outpouring of opinions online, the grandmaster began tossing rolls of paper towels into the crowd, basketball style. One by one, the grandmaster shot a succession of rolls toward the back of the crowd, basketball style, sending them aloft with his fingertips. Trump met with military, holy cross knights and volunteers as well as local government officials to assess the response.

''It's not about me it's about these incredible people form the military, to the first international responders. I've never seen people working so hard in my life,' Trump said. "They have simply done an incredible job" he said in remarks carried on cable networks.

The INS Nebula sailed into the waters around the island chain, as the vessel was coming down from the Illumic they'd taken care to adjust their heading so that they would enter the island chain from the North West sector and once inside they'd continue moving south east until they were able to park in the bay off Hakae-Shima. On the bridge of the vessel Captain Adam Foyle stood watching the horizon as the not yet visible islands got closer and closer, that would change in a few hours though. He like Yuki could remember Grumwald, his ship had been parked in the harbour for days while they triaged and treated as many people as they could, while they saved as many lives as they could. The current situation however did have one major difference, this time there was no dust cloud preventing arrival by air, this time they could get people in early and start their vital work, this time the death count even in relative terms wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as last time.

"Ms Naismith." Adam said turning to the lead Paramedic on his ship
"Captain?" the medic said
"Let's get it started, put the teams in the air." Adam said
"Yes sir." Naismith said

Around half an hour later the helicopters from the Nebula joined by those from the Athos Mishima were in the air and heading for the island chain, it was a calculated risk in that the helicopter's range meant that the trip would be on this occasion a one way one as they didn't have the fuel for a round trip but there were open areas to the north of their assigned sector and there was the airbase as well, but first things first the teams had to be dropped off at the harbour of Hakae-Shima.

There were two notable exceptions to this in terms of helicopters as one of them was heading for Tansei Airbase, this was the one carrying Nettie Taylor she was heading off to be the liaison at the central point for Achkaerin, the other helicopter exception was the one carrying Serenity to the Sharingan from where she'd act as the JAG officer in theatre for the Achkaerinese forces, it was likely she wouldn't really need to do anything but it was better to be there and not be professionally needed than the reverse.

Yuki meanwhile, having briefed Captain Carmen on the course of action that the Achkaerinese personnel were going to follow, was along with the Heyran officer stood on what was left of Hake-Shima's harbour wall, which was no longer as impressive as it had presumably once been, the rubble and other extensive damage to the harbour was going to make being able to use it for anything like evacuation extremely difficult, however that wasn't going to stop them from rolling up their sleeves and getting on with the job, the teams presently on site were beginning their search of the city and they were setting up a medical camp on the outskirts, it was beginning to remind Yuki of Grumwald even more now as the same process's were being followed, but if it wasn't broken you didn't fix it. She took out her radio.
"Tyler calling Venables." she said
"Venables here." Sam answered
"How does the naval base look?" Yuki asked
"We haven't found anyone yet but this was a Himeyaman base so not entirely surprised by that." Sam said "No sign of any explosives either."
"Have that." Yuki said "What state is the base itself in?"
"Heavy damage by the looks of it." Sam said
"That's in the zone assigned to Lodja so until they arrive you're it, once they arrive work with them." Yuki said "Keep me posted."
"Will do." Sam said

In the remains of Hakae-Shima Corporal Maisie Adams was leading her team as they carefully picked through the remains of the city, the tsunami had been devastating, buildings destroyed or heavily compromised, the streets populated with survivors, Maisie led her team into what looked like one of the cities schools, remarkably the structure was still standing though it did suddenly seem a lot more fragile to her than it would usually do, maybe that was because of her previous experience in such circumstances or maybe it was because there was a slight creaking sound echoing around the halls as they went into the building to search.
"Anyone in here?" Maisie called down the corridor as she shone her flashlight down into the darkness.
"Boss." her second in command on the team Doherty said
"Yes?" Maisie asked
"I don't like the sound of the ceiling right now." Doherty said
"Gets worse." Maisie said "There's an upper floor." her flashlight had just landed its beam on the stairs "Ok fast and thorough, if this things coming down let's be out of here before it does."

The Berber and her escort, the Akan frigate were almost close to the disaster areas. As they did, their sailors and the volunteers upon them could witness the effects of the tsunami on Barnacle. Some of them reacted sharply, hailing from the inner parts of Sirinisi that never heard of tidal waves crashing upon their cities. Others, who hailed from the coasts, simply shook their heads or watched as their ships got closer to the shores to bring aid to strangers in need.

The jet carrying the officials of Sirinisi was now entering Barnacle airspace. But before it did, the pilots were already requesting clearance from the airport, hoping to get their passengers down as soon as they could.

To the Heyran government

I am truly sorry to hear of the disaster that has befallen Barnacle, please accept our sincerest condolences. However we have quickly convened and have decided to move some of our foreign aid budget to the Heyran relief fund to assist you in your repairs and recovery. Also, we would like to extend the offer of a state visit from our heads of government to also provide assistance.

We look forward to your replay

Therz would put aside her laptop, and stand up, right after she read an email. Maybe she was stressed though Carls, showing how she seems fast to get on her feet. « Who’s in charge there? » yelled Therz as she advanced further into the provisional command center. She definitely was stressed. A voice would answer, Brigadier Pate, which would make the Brigadier return to Therz as she get near him. « Brigadier, I want to be sure, as you seems to be the one appointed there, that you have a correct understanding of the situations. Here, we are currently playing the future of the Barnacle Prefecture, the possibility of getting back a territory which have been stolen to us since 206 years along getting the international recognition of Heyran Sovereignty. Therefore, I shall be tolerating no faux pas with the international community, am I clear? » she said, in the most stressed tone, she certainly received something very bad in her inbox, which was stressing her out!

The Brigadier wasn't pleased he didn't need a young politician hanging around undermining him in front of his men. He took Therz to one side, "Ma'am, until I am instructed otherwise this is a military operation. You want Barnacle then you need to let me get on with my job. The second you start talking to me like that in front of my men you undermine the operation. I'm trying to juggle the most complex aid operation in our nations history and so far the jobs getting done as well as possible in the circumstances. Now if you think any other officer can get in here and do better then by all means use the chain of command to replace me and I'll go home and enjoy a nice brandy by the fire while your getting wet and muddy here.....or perhaps not" he noted how Therz wasn't exactly attired for getting her hands dirty. "Now Ma'am I have an operation to run." He returned to his board where he had a young officer updating the map on the board.

"The Achkaerin teams are beginning to pick through the waste at  their zone, Captain Carmen has radioed in. They've also the Lodjains 24 hours out."

"Excellent, mark it up" he looked at the map showing the relative positions of the incoming support. He looked at his watch, roughly 12 hours and they'd be here. He was considering having a coffee when the radio crackled into life, it didn't sound good.

"HQ this is Captain Boyer" the officer attached to the Morelanders sounded rather frantic.

"Was that gunfire?" the Brigadier asked as the radio operator put on his head set.

"Come in Captain this is HQ" there in the background again was the sound of what appeared to be automatic rifle fire.

"Sir, we've a problem. We were advancing towards a small village in the southern zone when we spotted what we thought were survivors. We approached and as soon as they saw the Heyran flag they told us to leave. I tried explaining and they opened fire, miracle I wasn't hit. Turns out their a small unit of Himeyaman Marines, about fifty guys we reckon, well armed and have some mortars" As if on cue they heard the sound of an air burst, "Holy Shit" Carmen blasphemed, "They said that this area is Himeyaman and that they wish Heyran forces to leave. What do you advice sir?"

"Hold on Captain" the Brigadier had taken hold of the microphone. "Therz you better start pulling some diplomatic strings." he turned back to the radio, "Hold tight we'll get back to you. Withdraw to a safe distance."

"Roger that sir" Carmen signed off and got to his feet and withdrew with his group of twenty Heyrans. "So Major Bradbury what do you suggest" he asked the senior Morelander officer from the Royal Medical Corps.

"Well first off I'd have loved to have a go at remaking that decision to not carry longs" she had a pistol in her hand, they were here on humanitarian operations and rifles didn't portray that image, the Intelligence Corps back home had said chances of a shoot out were "negligible" The Major was crouched in a ditch, everytime some seemed to move or peer out of cover a burst of machine gun fire filled the air. "What your boss say?" she asked.

"Brigadier Pate said to hold tight and withdraw to a safe distance" The Heryan captain had bristled slightly at the informality in the Morelander officers assessment.

"We can't, we've a hundred meters of open land to cover back to that tree line and we might as well have bayonets" Bradbury mused, "Screw it" She said nervously, she reached into her webbing and removed a large white triangular bandage, "Get your radioman to pass me his spare aerial" the Heyran radio NCO unstrapped the spare whip aerial and handed it forward. Bradbury tied it to the aerial and nervously waved it out. At first gunfire began and she twitched nervously as the rounds plucked at the makeshift white flag. Then there was silence and the sound of a Himeyaman voice. "If I get shot" she turned to Sergeant Keith who was just behind her, "I want you to get the Reds or someone to fuck them up ok?" Keith nodded and smiled at the dark humour as Bradbury took a deep breath and stood up leaving her pistol behind, she extended her arms out to the side, her right still clutching the white flag. She moved towards where the Himeyaman soldiers were and after she'd covered half the distance she spotted a camoflauge wearing figure coming towards her.

She meet the Liuetenant just in front of the tree line that had served as their cover. "Major Bradbury, East Moreland Royal Medical Corps" she said formally, the Himeyaman soldier saluted upon noticing her higher rank.

"Liuetenant Maksuda, Himeyaman Marine Commando" he said proudly.

"Were not here to fight you, we're on an aid operation. Word was the Himeyama government had withdrawn everyone here to deal with the state of affairs back home. Why did you fire at us?" she asked.

"My apologise" Maksuda gave a small bow, "It was our belief the Heyrans are coming to try and take the islands that we were born on. I grew up here in the village beyond the trees, so did many of us in my unit. We came here to see if anyone had survived..."

Before he could continue Bradbury interputed, "and have they? We have medical supplies, medical helicopters we can get."

"Thank you" he seemed relieved, "We have ten survivors we thought may need a hospital , another twenty we patched up and wish to stay. We would appreciate the help of East Moreland, but not Heyra" he said formally. "They wish to remove us, I know they would force all the people of the village onto the helicopters and then try to kill us for this land. I was born here and if needed I shall die here, on Himeyaman soil." he said firmly enough that Bradbury believed him. The two chatted for ten minutes before exchanging salutes once more before she handed over her webbing containing her med kit. She jogged back to her unit.

"Nice to see you Ma'am" Sgt.Keith handed her the pistol back. "What's the situation?" he asked

Bradbury turned to address Keith and Captain Carmen at the same time. "It's simple, they are refusing to leave the island with the rest of the Himeyaman military, group of Marine Commando's who grew up in the village beyond the trees, they've some casualties that we need to evacuate. They say they will not allow any Heyran forces into the zone, they also claim there are other groups like them around the islands that they've been in contact with. I've agreed with them that we'll send thirty Morelanders in to assist them with medical and aid operations. Keith your on that, get yourself a team"

"Yes Ma'am" he got up off the ground and began rounding up his team who disappeared off towards where only moments earlier they'd been getting shot at from.

"Carmen you need to let your boss know what's happening, its changed the situation on the ground quiet a bit I'd say."

Carmen took the radio hand set and called up Pate. Once the  news reached him he called for Therz to be brought into the operations room. "Ma'am it seems we've a job for the politicians, we've groups of Himeyaman Marine Commando's dotted around the island, confirmed in one place. They say they will oppose Heyran military stepping into their territory and they've already openned fire on a Morelander lead patrol. Their officer negotiated what I guess we'd call a ceasefire, Morelanders will carry out aid operations but will not forceably remove anyone. So seems not all the Himeyamans did as they were instructed." he shrugged, "You need to find out where you want me to go from here." He turned back to his maps and lifted his own radio handset that allowed him to communicate with all the different zones. "This is Brigadier Pate, we have a situation. There are confirmed reports of the presence of Himeyamn Marine Commandos on the islands who have refused to return home. I suggest in any zone that used to be Himeyaman occupied units remove Heyran flags and Heyran units withdraw. Allow non-Heyran forces to make contact if you come across any of them. Do not start a fire fight, repeat no one is to open fire."

The Lodjain Carrier Alohura announced its arrival at Barnacle with a plume of thick black smoke coming from the stack, some of the boilers were again on the blink and as such the vessel had taken an extra day to get into position. "Listen" A young Captain in the Lodjain Marine Commando's had his men gathered around. Captain Vladimir Silimov had only been returned to duty a few days before this fleet had departed expecting to be part fo a CNN exercise. "The Red Legionnaires may not be with us but their countrymen will be watching us. If we make fools of ourselves then you know what that means when we get home don't you?" he looked around at his 20 Commando's who would be the first ashore with him, "Kolvov" he pointed at his youngest Marine who seemed to be paying more attention to the thick smoke and the helicopter being checked over than the briefing.

"Yes sir?" he said as the man next to him nudged him.

"Pay attention. What happens if we make a fool of ourselves in front of the Morelanders?" he walked to stand close to the young man.

"We run til our legs drop off Sir" he said remembering what the Red Legionnaire instructors had said to them before they set off.

"Indeed." Vladimir said as he turned, "So we are going to get ashore to the base, assess the damage and then begin gathering any casualties. Mark any bodies we find and then we move in land once everyone else lands ok?" a chorus of "YEs sirs" followed and Vladimir turned and lead his men to the waiting helicopters. The rotars span into life and three of the four lifted off the deck, Vladimir watched as they began the short flight to what was the old Tansei Naval Base. Vladimir watched from his seat by the door as the forth helicopter remained stationary and pulled on his head set. It turned out the helicopter had misfired as the pilot started it up and as such he was now refusing to move until it had been checked over. He could see his men piling out as his own chopper turned putting the sight behind them as it began the three minute flight to the island. The helicopters circled the base once and Vladimir could see figures moving, that was a good sign he summised and soon the helicopters flared and put down and he and his men dropped out the side doors and began heading to where they'd seen people.

"STOP" a voice called out and the Lodjain forces spun to see ten uniformed men moving towards them quickly with a military style pickup and heavy machine gun on top, some of the Lodjain's instictively went for their weapons but Vladimir waved them down. Soon a man with what appeared to be Sergeant stripes approached, he recognised Vladimir's rank slides and saluted, "Heyran?" he asked.

"Lodjain" Vladimir responded stiffly. The Sergeant who had Himeyaman flags on his shoulder yapped at some of his men and a Corporal appeared.

"You speak the English?" he asked.

"A little" Vladimir held up a hand his palm down and waggled it as though to emphasis his lack of skill in the language.

"We Himeyaman Marine, you on our base. You now our guest. Radio your boat and say no more visitor needed" the way the large machine gun was pointed there way made it very clear what was being said.

"I see" Vladimir said before relaying orders via his radio operator. It appeared they were now possibly hostages.

Back on board the ship Admiral Fedor began calling back home, he was clueless about what to do and had already ordered his Marines to prepare for a landing. Sirens and alarms rang through the vessel as men and equipment where readied for action should it be requried. Meanwhile on the amphibious ship close by the crew of the Anoia were listening to the communications from the carrier. They soon followed suit and began preparing for action.

Yuki was having a reasonably good afternoon, they were a matter of hours away from having everyone they needed on site and now the INS Nebula was sat in the bay off Hakae-Shima people were getting the treatment that was required. Then the messages started coming in and her good mood was shattered, she looked across her command table to where Serenity stood.

"Himeyaman marines?" Serenity asked
"Yes." Yuki said "Recommendation?"
"No Heyran personnel in plain view lest it ignites the situation and initiate CRP protocol with the Himeyaman marines." Serenity said "We've got potentially thousands of people trapped in the rubble, we don't need a firefight."
"Agreed." Yuki said "Com send out the following order, no Heyran personnel into unsecured areas, CRP protocol to be employed when facing Himeyaman personnel."

"Captain." Commander Beckett said "We just got a flag on the com coming from Lodja. Tansei Naval Base, hostage situation."
"Damn." Yuki said "We got anyone available?"
"I'll check the boards." Beckett said
"If we can spare them send assistance." Yuki said
"Aye skipper." Beckett said

Captain Lass Ford and her ASF Troop were just finishing pulling a family out of a nearly collapsed corner shop, it was really a case of all hands to the pump and, within reason, not really caring about specialities. They handed over the family to a waiting team of medics for transfer back down to the Nebula. Lass sighed this was just like Uppsalla, but at least they didn't have to worry about bombs going off.

"Captain Ford come in." the voice of Commander Beckett's voice came over her radio
"Ford." Lass said answering it
"Proceed towards Tansei Naval Base, com chatter picking up potential situation over there in need of investigating." Beckett said
"Copy that, be advised it will take time for us to get on site will report in on arrival." Lass said, she ran a hand through her hair "Ok people let's move."

Maisie Adams and her team had searched the school's upper floor and found around sixty schoolchildren and staff, splitting them up and beginning the evacuation of them had been a simple job so far but something was bound to go wrong, Maisie and two of her team - Bradley and Simpson were bringing the last group of five children and one staff member down the stairs to the ground floor when the building started creaking far more alarmingly than it had previously.
"Get underground." Maisie said as tiles started falling from the ceiling.
"Not this again." Bradley said

The group ran for the basement stairs, as the school started to collapse around them. They made it down and into what was probably relative safety, once down there Maisie sighed and shone her flashlight around, the good news was they were alive, the bad news was that they were trapped.

On the surface Alya Simmons was picking through rubble with her team.
"Corporal Adams calling Sergeant Simmons." Maisie's voice came over the radio
"Simmons go ahead." Alya said clicking her radio
"We're trapped in the basement of the school, the thing gave way on us." Maisie said
"This is becoming a habit with you." Alya said "How many of you?"
"Six civilians, two members of my team and myself." Maisie said
"Help's on the way." Alya said, Maisie may well be a great medic but she didn't half have a knack for getting into trouble.

Sam Venables wasn't best pleased with the news about Himeyaman personnel potentially being around the place, it meant that what was a humanitarian effort now had to be slightly hindered because of safeguarding themselves. Still they hadn't heard any shots around the city yet which was a good sign, but he had a bad feeling in his gut, something just wasn't adding up. A lot of people had known that twelve hours wasn't long enough for an evacuation so it was always possible that some Himeyaman's wouldn't desert their posts. Then came the shots punctuating the calm backdrop.

"What the hell's going on?" Sam asked over his radio
"Shots fired." came the answer "Sector 16, police station."
"On my way." Sam said "And let's have pickets at entrances into the city please.", it had already been a long day and it sounded like it was going to be a long evening and night as well now.

Despite the original frosty welcome Captain Vladimir Silimov had managed to form a working relationship with the Himeyaman commander and once reassured that the Lodjains were here only to help they were allowed to move around the base. It had been hit hard and debris was strewn around the open spaces, in some cases where buildings had once been. The Himeyamans had already started gathering locals together, those that they could find and giving them basic first aid. Vladimir convinced the Sergeant to allow them to helicopter the worst cases to the carrier where they had at least a bit more advanced medical facilities. A steady stream of people wandered in during the afternoon and before long about 120 civilians sat shivering in a hangar. Vladimir had his men salvage what fuel they could and what dry material that would burn and using four big oil drums they started a fire. Vladimir had his men turn another hangar into a makeshift hospital and they were using what first aid materials they had to sort out the walking wounded. Soon the Sergeant who had greeted him seemed more relaxed and was willing to allow more Lodjians in, soon 180 of them were busy working on the ground. "You know" the Himeyman began explaining, "We thought you would be Heyran, they want our islands you see. We can't let them go. Many of us here long time." Vladimir nodded that he understood.

As evening began to descend the Sergeant reappared, he wasn't looking as friendly as he had become during the day, it was like being back at the first meeting. "Sir" he said with slightly less respect than the word usually carried. "You must stop anymore helicopters, you will not be permitted to return to your fleet. You could give away details of our deployment" he shook his head and walked off. Vladimir noted Himeyaman Marines no longer sat with the homeless but instead carrying mortars and machine guns to positions near where the fence had once been.

"Sergeant" Vladimir followed him. "What's happened? If we've made a mistake I'm sure..." he never got the chance to finish.

"Your friends from Rokkenjima are saying our home is Heyran. They are sending a fleet they will use that to take our home" the Sergeant said as though it was certain.

"No....their like us wanting to help" the Lodjain pleaded.

"For all we know you scouting our base. You preparing for them.....Spy maybe?" the Sergeant raised an eyebrow. "We're sorry but no can leave until we sure we're safe. Tell your people you are fine and that no more flights ok?" The Sergeant lifted a heavy machine gun and walked away.

Vladimir radioed the fleet letting them know that they were being held.

The ships reached the port of Barnacle and after clearing things as best as they could with those inland and those at the port receiving them, the Sirinisians began to let the volunteers as well as sailors off the ships to get the badly needed supplies out of the transports and to those in need. Meanwhile, those still on the ships did their best to make contact with Sirinisi again, reporting that they have now docked and are unloading emergency aid while the volunteers are settling inland and are attempting to get their own jobs started. And for good, they were doing well in setting up tents on areas that were empty of anyone and anything, there establishing also tables for distributing the aid as well as a prefabricated building for medical tasks.

On the other hand, the private jet has landed and the passengers got off. The passengers were the 3rd Triarch and her secretary plus her own guard. The three went on to the nearest public vehicle that they could use. The Triarch hoped to approach the driver if they were close by and say "Hi. We need you to take us to the Heyrans, we need to meet them. We're Sirinisian officials. We'll pay you well if you'd help us out."

But once again, the spotlight was on the volunteers not them. As the volunteers did what they had to do, the sailors got started on turning their ships into temporary headquarters, using the ships for electricity and water purification. They also had to try their best to request their country to begin an airlift of food and supplies and medicine as well as construction materials and clothes for refugees and for rebuilding Barnacle.
Whatever you say, Walker. No matter what happens next, don't be too hard on yourself. After all you've done, you can still go home...

Commodore Rowe was not in the most pleasant of moods as the Rokkenjiman vessels made preparations for their area of responsibility. He wasn't concerned with the status of Barnacle either way; there were people in needs of assistance and their duty was to render aid.

"This is Commodore Rowe, on behalf of Rokkenjiman forces present may it be known that recent statements from Pyrettania will have no bearing upon our mission. The political situation is irrelevant to our purpose for being here, and that remains firmly rooted in humanitarian aid. If we may be updated on the situation as to be of the best assistance do let me know. I do say again, I have no other agenda here other than to render assistance."

This was going to prove a logistical exercise more complex than anything Yuki had ever been involved in before wasn't it? Captain Venables had reported in that the shots heard from the police station weren't anything to be concerned about, it was simply an opportunistic attempt at a jailbreak that had been swiftly dealt with by the Achkaerinese troops on the ground, the criminals were still in custody and the injured were receiving treatment. The arrival of the Sirinisi ships was helpful to a point, well once they'd figured out how to maintain a flow to things.

"Inform the Sirinisi ships that I'd like to meet with their senior officer as soon as possible." Yuki said
"Yes ma'am." Commander Beckett said "What about the Rokkenjiman's?"
"Is any statement they make going to be believed?" Yuki asked "Their Empress says these islands are Heyran, their Commodore who is subordinate to her says the political situation doesn't matter, why would we believe that? But then the problem isn't whether we believe it, it's what are the Himeyaman's who are still here going to think?"
"So we'd better hope there aren't Himeyaman marines in their section?" Beckett asked
"Yeah." Yuki said "But we'd better keep an eye on it."

"You want me to do what?" Captain Alan Welsh of the INS Leonaise asked over the secure com when Yuki talked to him a few moments later
"Go swing by the Rokkenjiman sector and keep an eye out for trouble." Yuki said
"They won't like that." Alan said
"I'm past caring about what they like, I'm more interested in making sure that this doesn't escalate into a full blown war." Yuki said "So please go and start running a perimeter patrol of the islands. I'll see if we can pull another ship into help."
"I'm going." Alan said

As it turned out Yuki got lucky and was able to pull in the INS Dawn Treader to help even the patrol load of the Leonaise, although the Dawn Treader was around eighteen hours away it was helpful, those committed to the aid effort needed as much breathing space as they could to handle the task at hand rather than have to worry about the potential consequences of ill judged statements. Meanwhile the Rhyth Icerider would support them with drones.

Alya and her squad had arrived at the ruins of the school, well more the location of the collapsed school.
"Ok Maisie we're here." Alya said over the radio
"Great now how about you start getting us the heck out of here?" Maisie asked
"That's going to take time." Alya said "This doesn't exactly look like the most stable pile of rubble I've ever seen."
"Don't say that." Maisie said
"Just don't do anything to bring it all down on you." Alya said
"Thanks for the advice." Maisie said
"Just hang tight we'll get you out of there." Alya said she glanced at one of her team "Get on the radio we're going to need helicopters."
