Diplomacy and Events / Re: A Reunion for Abraham
« on: March 31, 2022, 10:44:08 AM »
There had been a significant stirring in the international community by the prospect of this meeting, especially from the Rosari faith. It amused Imam Mansur Karimi that someone like a Grand Maester would even suggest that it was possible for a faith like Islam, rather conservative in its outlook, to be able to be worshiped while also worshipping the vast number of deities that faith had as false idols. The most recent interview where they had seen this conference as a threat in some manner did confuse him. No one had threatened the Rosari, or any other faith, merely pointing out that there were differences in opinions on many key issues, something even a blind man could see.

The Emir had handled the logistics of the day. The Mosque of the Emirs had been selected for the venue initially as it had ample room for setting up and hosting conferences. That had however brought its only complexities, what if one of those attending did not wish to enter a mosque, or worse would enter but would not follow the rituals of doing so. To avoid that the Emir had selected the plaza of the mosque, a large sideless tent had been erected and for today worshippers would be arriving via the North entrance only, not the majestic southern one with the marble plaza.

Prince Talaat Muhsin, the Emir's younger brother had been dispatched to help guide the various dignitaries the short distance from the airfield to the mosque and several of the Emir's fleet of vehicles had been assigned the duty of ferrying them to the Mosque. Emir Sulaiman waited patiently dressed in white robes topped with a red keffiyeh. If it hadn't been for the exotic wrist watch and gold pin holding the Keffiyeh's tie together you would have been hard pressed to pick him out from other worshippers. "As-Salaam-Alaikum" he greeted each delegate with a two handed shake and a slight bow. "We are so grateful that you have come to join us today. Please let me introduce my friend and my esteemed guide in our faith,  Imam Mansur Karimi."

Mansur was a rather young man to be such a respected Imam, at just 38 years of age his style of at times bombastic messaging had appealed to many young people across the nation and his willingness to mobilise his listeners into social action earned him respect. Older Muslims found his defence of conservative values reassuring and so Mansur had found himself becoming a leading member of the nations clergy. "I am just blessed to have people willing to listen to Allah within earshot of me." He too greeted everyone.

"Now if we can all take a seat." The Emir waited for everyone to get settled before addressing everyone, not from the head of a long rectangular table, he'd purposely put no one at the ends, but by wandering around the edges, he always found himself more at ease speaking while on the move. "I called this conference because I have several concerns. So many nations of the more established world order put faith in international agreements as "International Law", however none of us around this table attended, nor did any of our nations. At least as far as I know. We therefore are often seeing a case of these agreements being utilised to put nations under economic pressure or trade restrictions or a host of other actions. Liberalisation of the world seems to be required to open some trade doors, but I don't see why. Look at the histories of our faiths, Jews, Christians, then Muslims, each of us have tales in our faiths connected to trade." The Emir stopped and looked at Patriarch Alexy, "Genesis of the bible states "Thus you shall live with us, and the land shall be open before you; live and trade in it and acquire property in it.” it is clear then that it is possible to trade and hold our values given to us by God. Now the head of the Rosari faith would have us believe that it is possible to be Muslim while also serving their Goddess, that you can worship a God of Justice when we all know that it is God who is the arbiter of justice. Our own Quran states ""O People of the Book! Come to what is common between us and you: That we worship none but God, that we associate no partners with Him, that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords other than Allah. " It is clear Allah is not permitting a combination faith. We see the Rosari faith, and to some extent the Bene Gesserit attempting to guide our faithful to misinformation. I am though inclined to welcome the words of one not from within our faith, "A man who chases two rabbits catches neither" Miss Maddix is indeed correct. I myself will take no action against someone chasing the wrong rabbit, I will respect their attempts so long as they do not interefre with my own faith and that of others, nor use their faiths liberalisation to be vindictive against other peoples, there can and should be no compulsion in faith. It is clear though we must battle this misinformation the same way the Cult of Helus is and send a clear message that while we respect people's right to follow a faith they can not pick and choose as from a menu, it is all or nothing. This is enough though about differences, we are here to celebrate and build upon are similarities. Each of us here in some way gives respect to Abraham, we all recognise Adam and Eve as the originators of mankind. I am therefore happy to call you all my brothers and sisters for whether we attend Synagogue, Temple, Church or Mosque we all have the same ancestor. What I intend to do here today is two fold. One was my original plan. I believe that we should recognise as a group of connected faiths some fundemental rights our people's should have protected. These rights are given to us by God and not by some man made documents, while our faiths differ in some ways we can find common ground. The second is perhaps a better place to start following the recent issues with the Rosari faith. That of helping guide our faithful in nations they are a minority. With that in mind I wish to begin a newspaper. I will fund it for the first year as a trial. I'm thinking we should call it "The One Word" and allow contributions from journalists and scholars of faith in our nations. Naturally at times our journalists may differ on their views but this can be healthy as it shall promote debate about faith and this can help our people educate themselves. It can also be made digital so that for example a Jew living in Rokkenjima can see what a real Rabbi uncorrupted by a view that a Rosari-Jewish hybrid can exist. I though may have already spoken to much. I am here merely to ensure you have enough tea and cake." He stopped wandering and took a seat, interestingly behind the Imam and handed proceedings over to the scholar.

"Thank you Your Majesty." Mansur said as he leaned forward to begin speaking. "I believe before discussing matters so significant as these it best to seek spiritual guidance, I intend to offer a quick prayer and I hope you too will feel free to do so. O Allah, I seek Your counsel through Your knowledge and I seek Your assistance through Your might and I ask You from Your immense favour, for verily You alone decree our fate while I do not, and You know while I do not, and You alone possess all knowledge of the Unseen. O Allah, if You know this matter of working with our spiritual cousins to be good for me in relation to my religion, my life and livelihood and the end of my affairs, my present and future, then decree it for me and facilitate it for me, and then place blessing for me within it, and if You know this affair to be harmful for me concerning my religion, my life and livelihood and the end of my affairs, then remove it from me and remove me from it, and decree for me what is good, wherever it may be, and make me content with it." He opened his eyes as he finished, "I look forward to you praising God in your own way and your views on what the Emir has to say."

"MAY DOES NOT MEAN SHOULD" SAYS KARIMI

Imam Mansur Karimi has responded to criticism of the Emir following a spat that began on Twitter about women's rights. "The leader of the Rosari faith is it seems a well read lady in terms of the Quran. She is correct that the book gives permission for many things but having permission does not mean that it is necessary or desired. In the Quran Allah is given 99 different names, one of the most commonly used epitaphs is the Most Merciful. As such when a crime such as say murder is committed against a family it is right that the death penalty is given as that is what the book says may happen. However Allah also desires us to be forgiving and a person who forgives someone who has harmed them or committed a crime against them or their family is among the most blessed, therefore in Rayyu I am pleased to say the death penalty is hardly ever used as families forgive the perpatrator and instead imprisonment takes place. What may happen is not what should happen. The same goes with the notion of striking your wife. It is the final option in a long scenario and even then the most blessed Prophet Muhammed set an example for us all by never striking any of his wives. It is the duty of us all to try and be as honourable as the Prophet and if we come half as close we have done a good job in life. To suggest that women in Rayyu are somehow mistreated is laughable. As a nation we have worked hard to ensure all families are well looked after and it is our women who take a lead in the guidance of the home. Equal does not mean identical. After all humanity is created by Allah and did he not create two identical beings in Adam and Hawā."

The Emir is soon to host a meeting of a significant number of religious leaders from the interconnected faiths descended from Ibrahim. The Emir was visiting the plaza of the  nations largest mosque today and spoke on the matter. "In all I do I try and ask myself what would most please Allah and then try and think what the Prophet would do. He famously once said that it would be immoral to embrace our wives with the hand that had struck her. This whole commentary coming from Rokkenjima is the reason why such a conference is needed. We have heard of sanctions being placed on Samantra by Rokkenjima. As such I am today urging you whenever possible to boycott the goods of Rokkenjima and if possible to buy alternatives from Samantra. While I do not understand the politics of Samantra their people have spoken."

EMIR SEEKS "SPIRITUAL GATHERING"

Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin has today sent out invitations to nations across Mundus that are part of the "People of the Book", a group of religions with a shared history connected to the Prophet Abraham. The Emir explained that while the idea had been considered for a while it was the recent words directed towards Samantra regarding their controversial defeat of the Separations of Income Act. The Emir has called for there to be a discussion of nations holding the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths central to their nation to meet and discuss co-operation to stand against what he has described as "an ultra liberal world order devoid of Gods guidance." It is not yet known exactly what will be proposed during the meeting however some suspect it may be an alternative approach to human rights than the MCUR. The move however may just be an attempt at forging closer relationships with people the Emir believes would likely share a common outlook on world affairs.

It is understood that the Emir has been meeting regularly with Imam Mansur Karimi who is a respected Islamic scholar in Rayyu. The Emir explained "At the centre of everything I try and do is my faith. I admit though I am not always a good Muslim and I hope Allah will forgive me for that for he is the most forgiving. Here in Rayyu we respect the guidance the Quran and Hadiths give us in our efforts to lead a life worthy of Allah. When nations tell the people of a nation that they have in effect made a bad decision about their own laws and lives they are in effect seeking to compel that nation to follow their ideals. Samantra as far as I can tell are a nation with a democratically elected government that reflects their population. That government have listened to different viewpoints, considered them and compared them to their people's needs and hopes. They then made a decision and I respect that. Our own faith tells us "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women" this does not mean women lack rights or are lesser. Men and Women are different, they are designed to compliment each other as a lock does a key, one without the other is useless. We must show our children that we hold our traditional faith values dear."

The meeting will take place at the Emir's Palace in the coming weeks.

KIZAD OFFER PLANTATION

The ongoing saga of the traditional tribute paid by the Emirate of Kizad to the Emir of Rayyu may soon be coming to an end. With $214,525.23 owed to the Emir by Kizad still outstanding it is understood that Emir Emir Khaleel Atif Qadir of Kizad will offer one of the Emirates date plantations in payment. It is understood that the Emir of Rayyu has sent his uncle to discuss the matter.

Currently ships arriving in Rayyu from Kizad are being slowly serviced in ports until the tribute is paid.

Diplomacy and Events / A Reunion for Abraham
« on: March 16, 2022, 10:32:31 PM »

Over the last few weeks I have been in deep consideration with my books, my family and my trusted friend Imam Mansur Karimi, one of our nations leading scholars. I am concerned that the apparent world powers that have long influenced Mundus modern history have attempted to drag the world towards what could be described as a secular liberal interpretation of the Judeo-Christian traditions that have been a cornerstone of much of our nations for generations since the time of the Prophet Abrahim. It is from his noble bloodline that all our peoples have originated and despite our often vast differences at the centre of our lives in the love of the creator and his works. Today's attacks on the faith of Samantra by the leaders of Rokkenjima further demonstrate the rifts between those of us who are People of the Book. It is becoming more and more important that those of us with views formed by our interconnected faiths stand together. We must therefore I believe come together and send a message to Mundus that those of us with respect and love for our faiths will stand by our holy books and texts and uphold the laws that the divine has given us.

I therefore would like to invite those Heads of State, Heads of Government, religious leaders and other officials to join me and my Iman in Rayyu to work together to formulate a future of respect for our traditions.

May Allah Bless You and Keep You Safe

Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin

What the Empire of Tamora wish to do with their own territory is a decision for themselves however we do ourselves do not recognise Elysium as patr of a Gulf nation. We are keen to ensure that the Gulf arrangement is in a position to widen its appeal to nations of the world and sadly the recent incidents with Elysium and accusations cast towards it have put doubt in many people's minds. We would though be willing, with appropriate safeguards in place, to work with the government of Heyra to put together a trade deal between the G.A.A and Heyra.

Prince Talaat had dressed the part. Not only was he being expected to represent the Emir but he was also helping Diamond Farm Labs. The Emir wore a dark suit with cufflinks glistening with diamonds which matched the watch face he had on. He was excited to see a new nation but a little worried about messing up. Accompanying him was Qassim Rasoul the CEO of Diamond Farm Labs. He had with him a heavy duty briefcase handcuffed to himself and two burly security guards either side of him. They arrived on a private jet and hoped someone was around to meet them at the airport.

With a desire to spread our business globally we are constantly looking for oppurtunities to not just benefit from interesting markets but are also interested in finding people who can help push our growing industry forward. With this in mind we would like to open a facility at Chamwick manufacturing diamonds. As this will be a small scale facility we hope we will be able to qualify for one of the short term contracts for small numbers of workers. At the end of the three years we can evaluate the relationship and should it have been beneficial to both parties we can extend and expand the agreement.

If successful we would employ 51 people and three from Rayyu.

Best Regards

The Emir wasn't well versed in video games, his 8 year old daughter Rabi'a  had once taken him on a guided tour of her Minecraft Princess Tower but that was probably the only time he'd held a controller like this. It though didn't take long for him to get used to and in no time he was walking into and out of all the various parts that made up his potential new plane. "I like it" the Emir announced having done two ups and downs of the aircraft. "Let us try this Virtual Reality" he waited patiently for it to be set up before donning the headset, it was incredible it instantly felt like he was inside the aircraft. He was opening draws, moving chairs and could even see out the window of the aircraft. It seemed like they were flying over some high mountains topped with snow, he wondered if that was the Alps of East Moreland. Twenty minutes later having inspected every part of the plane he took the head set off. "Miss Katelyn I am impressed with your work. Now I know a little about the systems you mentioned but I do know a lot about EMAC's reputation. If you tell me you can make a system that does what Ironside One does without it being Ironside One then we can go ahead with that."

The Emir turned to Sir Alan "Sir I am impressed with this whole set up. I potentially have some friends back home who would be interested in smaller, less technical private jets made to these standards. I propose that for each one of these customers I get a 10% finders fee which means as a result I earn some money back on this rather large investment. With the skills of Miss Katelyn here I am sure you can upsell the interiors to cover my fee." The Emir wasn't done there, "I understand EMAC are also in the market for sports teams. We're not a huge sporting nation but we do enjoy the idea of sports. You have been until now buying existing teams and changing their names yes? We operate a franchise system in our league, no promotion, no relegation. The franchises come up in a few months and rumour has it one team, Al-Sharaw, will be out of the run for keeping theirs, the chemical company that supports them has not been doing so well and is looking at merging with another company and they already support a team. What I propose is that EMAC step in and offer to take a franchise. You could call the team what you want, locate it wherever in Rayyu you wanted, within reason and for the next ten years its yours. I would ensure you are given a favourable chance and we have the Bahla International Sports Complex nearing completion, for a fee of $2,000 a game we could make it your home. What do you think?"

KIZAD FACE SYMBOLIC SANCTIONS

Following the Emirate of Kizad missing a traditional payment of tribute to the Emir of Rayyu orders have been issued by Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin of Rayyu to impose what he has described as "symbolic sanctions" on the island nation. The Emir has instructed that no ship landing in Rayyu from Kizad between the hours of 1am and 7am are to not be unloaded until after 7am. In addition each ships captain will be expected to pay $1 before their ship is unloaded. The Emir explained the decision saying. "This arrangement between our nations has been a cornerstone of respect and partnership. We are due a payment that is rightfully ours and so far Kizad have simply said to us that they are dealing with that matter. Under the rules in place we would be entitled to take what we are owed by force but naturally this is not on the cards. I am allowed to take the $214,525.23 owed by reasonable means. The fee paid by ship captains will be deducted from that amount." The sanctions have so far seen three ships carrying food exports held up much to the annoyance of their captain.

The MV Rolling Day was one of the three ships and its captain lodged a formal complaint with the Port Authority which was rejected. "This is ridiculous. This is not our fault but now I am going to be six hours behind schedule. This is a petty argument that is going to cost my bosses serious money." An average of 20 ships a day arrive with exports from Kizad, mainly in the shape of processed sea food and halal meat.

To:- The Government of Chistopol

I have been asked on behalf of Diamond Farm Labs to approach your nation with an offer to help them establish an enterprise within your nation. As Minister for Enterprise it is my duty to help our nations business find favourable oppurtunities across Mundus and therefore I would be delighted to try and help our premier diamond "Growing" business find a location for its first office outside Rayyu. It is our belief that Chistopol is a nation that could provide a useful base of operations for the business and we believe that the investment could be of use to your nation.

If permitted myself and the CEO of Diamond Farm Labs would love to visit your nation for talks

Following reflection and details brought to light about the creation of Setri Diamond Farm Labs withdraws its request to create an outlet in Setri at this time. As no arrangement had been reached we believe this is a prudent step. The Prophet said "'There are three categories of people against whom I shall myself be a plaintiff on the Day of Judgement. Of these three, one is he who enslaves a free man, then sells him and eats this money'. We therefore must follow his guidance and can not profit from the slavery of the innocent.

KIZAD MISS TRIBUTE PAYMENT

In the year 376AH (987CE) an agreement was made between the war-lord Mahmud Mansur Karim and Emir Suleiman Jaffa Mubarak of Rayyu. This agreement granted Karim the land today known as Kizad and the right to rule it as Emir, in return the Emir of Kizad would "until the end of time" owe an annual tribute to the Emir of Rayyu. The value of this tribute was to be paid in "goods, gold or gems" and be equal in value as "the price of the amount of gold required to balance a new born goat." Since then every year a representative of the Emir of Rayyu has travelled to Kizad and selected a newborn goat from the Emir's own herd. This animal is then weighed and 30 days later the Emir of Kizad is expected to have his ambassador in Rayyu present the tribute.

This year Ambassador Malak Ebrahim Zaman travelled to Kizad and selected a goat that weighed 8lbs 2oz. With the current gold price at $58.21 a gram it was calculated that this years tribute should be set at $214,525.23. This amount was expected to be paid with a mixture of fish, dates, ores and the balance in cash. This tribute should have been paid last night however it was confirmed this morning that it has not yet been received a spokesman for the Emir of Rayyu said, "We are confident that this largely ceremonial but important tribute will be paid and trust the Emir of Kizad to be a man of his word and honour the arrangement. From time to time their are unforeseen circumstances and I am sure the Emir of Kizad will inform us shortly of what has gone wrong. We see ourselves as family with our southern neighbours and sometimes families need to be patient."

The Emir of Kizad has yet to comment on the matter despite requests by this publication. Under the terms of the arrangement if Kizad do not pay the Emir of Rayyu is permitted to take "action to recover his loss so far as it conforms to the decree of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq." This decree permits a war so long as ten rules are followed including not setting fire to trees, avoiding killing women and children as well as not mutilating dead bodies. While it is not expected any military action will take place this is a matter that has broken over a 1000 years of tradition and as such Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin of Rayyu is unlikely to permit it to just take place.

Diamond Farm Labs was established in 2017 and has made a reputation for itself based on innovation and excellence. Our company use a process called Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). This involves putting the seed in a sealed chamber filled with carbon-rich gas and heating to around 800C. Under these conditions the gases begin to “stick” to the seed, growing a diamond carbon atom by atom. A diamond can be "grown" in as little as five days and is undistinguishable from a mined diamond. We have for some time been considering the establishment of facilities across Mundus. We see ourselves as the future of the diamond industry. With this in mind we ask for permission to establish a lab in Setri. Originally this will require a staff recruited from Rayyu doing all lab work with locals recruited for administrative and janitorial work. Within two years we would intend the whole operation to be run by citizens from Clysperis. We would, as we are manufacturing high value assets, require confirmation that we will be able to freely export manufactured diamonds to any location we choose without restriction or payment. In addition owing to our niche business I would request that no other diamond growing business be permitted within Setri for the next 10 years as to make sure our investment is protected.

We look forward to your response.

In the 10th Century Muslim's from Rayyu made the decision to further try and spread the Muslim faith to the pagans living on the island to their South. The initial expeditions found people resistance to the faith and so in 983 AD the Emir of Rayyu ordered an invasion. This invasion failed and was a disaster for the Emir. Two years later a General of the Emir who had retired four years before the failed invasion called Mahmud Mansur Karim gathered a voulenteer army together and crossed the Strait of Auraxis and was successful in conquering the island. He had been expected to hand the island over to the Emir but instead he refused. There were several attempts by the Emir of Rayyu to conquer the island but each failed under the defense commanded by Mahmud Mansur Karim. In 987 AD it was agreed that the Emir of Rayyu would recognise the General as Emir of what was now called Kizad so long as he promised to pay an annual tribute. This was agreed and the tradition has stood ever since.

The Island of Kizad is however sadly not as developed and wealthy as its Northern cousins as it was discovered much of the island was swampy and low lying. The island is famed for growing dates which grow in low quality water. The island is also famed for fishing which makes up a great deal of its income. Many of the nations young men actively look to leave the island and as such journey to Rayyu to join the The Rayyu Foreign Legion

Spending vast sums of money should be an experience and it was clear that this was a pretty special way of doing it. The Emir would have preferred a man to be the designer, precision engineering was more their field but he would have to accept that these Morelanders had some funny ideas but impressive results. The Emir sat sipping tea, it wasn't as sweet as that he enjoyed back home but it was pleasant enough. After Katelyn had talked him through the process he was impressed with the whole procedure. "Miss Katelyn" he leaned forward and placed his cup of tea neatly on the table. "I want as far as possible what your own King has, maybe some more interior work refined to the tastes of Rayyu and a paint job in green." he explained. "The Skytrain will be the one" he announced. "Now inside I would like a bedroom for two people and a guest one. I would like an office attached to the main one with everything kind of being marble, I suspect that will need to be fake because of weight but I like the idea of a fine marble desk even. In the main body I would like seats to be leather, but it must be Halal leather on this matter there can be no negotiation. I will put you in touch with our own supplier and they will be thrilled to work with you on this." The floors must be again the impression of white marble. I would also like somewhere to watch cinema or sports with friends and family as we travel. Add to this all the safety gadgets, missile launchers, forcefields and other magical items you use to protect your own King." he chuckled. "Is this possible Miss Katelyn?"

MIGRANT WORKER STRIKE AVOIDED

Following a week of disputes between a group of migrant workers and The Bahla International Sports Complex Ltd a potential strike has been avoided. The Sports Complex is currently under construction and is likely to become a centre piece of a new sports based section of the city. It is hoped that the stadium will house football, athletics and even have a Formula Mundus track surrounding it. Last week a group of 30 migrant workers helping construct the facilities threatened to down tools and go on strike unless they got more pay and better working conditions. After several days of back and forth the workers were issued orders to leave the site and the housing complex provided by Bahla International Sports Complex Ltd and a strike therefore avoided as an agency based in Abydos helped bring in new workers with the required skills.

The removed workers now have 10 days to find new employment within the Emirate or will be deported as they will be in violation of their work agreement visas.

"Botros how am I supposed to be taken seriously" Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin casually tossed a brochure onto the lap of his most trusted friend, Botros Najjar.

"A man is not judged by a plane my friend" Botros was the Emir's former dorm mate during their time at Sheikh Mirza Hussain Al-Amin Academy and while the Emir had gone off to University to study sciences Botros had been more of a scholar having graduated with his own degree in International Politics. The pair had remained close friends, Botros even being the grooms-man at his wedding. "Look at the respected leaders of this world, why are they respected? If you consider this I think their mode of transport is low down the list." With that said Botros tossed the article by EMAC showing some of "Ironside One" back at his monarch. "If you ask me this trip is an unneccessary one."

"It will do us good to be seen around the world. New trade links, new partners. The people in the Gulf are a good start but I wish Rayyu to the envy of Mundus and that won't do with us showing up everytime we go somewhere in a ridiculous small plane. I want to be hosting banquets in mid air as I jet set from nation to nation." the Emir seemed to drift away in his hopes of extravagance.

"If you will it." Botros teased as he returned to his book on the History of Alba Karinya. The Emir meanwhile was flicking through the pages of a tailors brochure and then moments later that of a car manufacturer from Heyra. It would be a non-stop four days of visits but at the end of which the Emir had hoped to have his new years wardrobe, a new luxury VIP aircraft and supercar all tied up. While he was proud of what his nation could do and achieve they perhaps lacked the reputation at the moment for such high end products as he would hopefully acquire. While the visit was an unofficial one he had though got the agreement of the East Moreland crown to some sort of face to face meeting, if only as a gesture of one royal family to another. With a touch of excitement about the trip, mainly for the EMAC visit the Emir noticed their impending landing in East Moreland.

Soon the aircraft doors opened and a polite, smartly dressed rent-a-steward wished them a safe trip as they exited.

"A SAFER AND RICHER GULF" ANNOUNCED BY THE EMIR

Upon his return to the Emirate this morning His Highness Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin announced that the nation had entered into a four way agreement with regional partners in Kodima, Royal Seleucid and Waddan. As he held a brief press conference at the Emir Coastal Airport His Highness was optimistic about what it means for the nation in the future.

Quote
"I am proud to say that the talks with Emperor Malachi, Sultan Yayha and King Heydar have seen us put in place a document that will make a safer and richer Gulf for our children. We will be able to move goods easier and at a lower cost, this will allow us to have better prices in our markets, it will allow our trading businesses to access a far wider market and it will make the acquisition of raw materials much smoother. The agreement will allow my people to see the whole Gulf region as their proverbial oyster. Our academics can access the best Universities across the region, our tourists can take advantage of the wonderous events, our artists can take their skills and art forms across the four nations without a care for complex arrangements. Add to all this the fact shipping now has the protection of four nations working as one as it transits the region means smuggling and piracy will be fearful of the consequences. This agreement will not make a huge difference overnight but in the months and years to come the Gulf will become a significant trading centre for the whole of Mundus."

The Emir thanked Emperor Malachi for his hospitality and extended an invitation for him to visit the Emirate at his convenience.

STADIUM BREAKS GROUND

The Bahla International Sports Complex has today begun the construction of what will be the centre piece of the complex designed to potentially one day attract the Mundus Games to the nation. The project was given the green light after the success of the Mundus Games held in Royal Seleucid and Tamora. To date it has seen the construction of several small arenas and training areas. The new football stadium will also incorporate the ability to host athletics with a state of the art extendable lower tier that can be moved to cover the track allowing fans to be closer to the action. When completed it is expected that the venue will hold 80,000 fans, meaning that it could potentially host MFA Cups in the future.

The project will also include air conditioning aimed towards the playing surface and also contain a fitness suite, a medical facility and a TV studio. Shiekh Muhammed Rizwan Al Ghafat has been given the responsibility of over seeing the project and has spoke of his hopes for the future

Quote
The new arena will inspire our nations athletes. The hopes of playing in a beautiful coliseum  of sport in your homeland is the dream of all young boys who kick a ball or run on a track. We've failed to make the step up to larger stages and this much change. We are in a fortunate position to be able to move significant sums towards the sporting arena, both as spectators and participants, as such we must have the facilities to allow elite level outcomes. Our hope is within five years to host a major sporting event and within 10 years to have won a major team sporting event.

The Sports Complex is also planned to have a race track built around it to potentially host Formula Mundus races in the years ahead.

Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin was the youngest of those here but was keen to have his voice heard around the world. "Thank you Emperor Malachi for this invite. I have always prayed to Allah that he gives me the ability to give my people better lives and it seems with the agreement we have made here today we have been granted the wisdom to recognise friendship in our sea makes us stronger. I know we have many differences between us but today we show Mundus that differences of faith, race, culture and heritage are nothing to stand in the way of co-operation. I thank my new found friends for their time and In sha'Allah this will be the first of many meetings between us as neighbours and friends."

The Emir took the pen from the Emperor with a warm handshake and went down the line neatly and carefully putting his signature on each document being careful to ensure as he did each he looked at the assembled cameras and smiled.

Emir Sulaiman Samar El-Amin was confident that the agreement as it stood would be popular back home and as a first forray into the world of international diplomacy would be seen as a success. "Like the King I am more than happy with this as it stands."

The Emir was pleased with these proposals as they would feed nicely into the ideas the Emir had for the future of Rayyu. "We fully support the articles presented. I believe that is all of us."

"Should we perhaps also explore the way we handle materials and goods from other nations. For example should Rayyu import food from Lijiang in a way that Royal Seleucid and Waddan have then some of that shipment heads into Kodima should we have fees on that if a payment has already been made. So if the Lijiang exporter has paid to get into Rayyu should they then pay again to take it into Kodima. Maybe we have an extra article that states.

** Once a material or product has entered into the Gulf region and a tariff has been paid no further fees or tariffs for crossing a border shall be liable so long as the item remains in the same condition it entered the first Gulf nation. Should one Gulf nation have a "no tarrif" arrangement with the exporting nation then tariffs shall be liable at the first Gulf border it crosses after entry.**

The Emir made sure that he appeared humble enough to shake the hand of the hotel staff opening the door. It was little things like that his father had told him that the media would notice and it would give a positive impression. He followed the group upto the suite where their host had arranged. Despite understanding the importance of the media in his people's perception of him he never felt comfortable having his photo taken and hoped that it would not transfer into the image.

As Malachi finished his introduction Sulaiman was first to reply. "The Emirate has at present no formal ties of any kind. No trade arrangements, no visas deals, no exchanges, no military connections. Our obligation has been nothing other than being a good neighbour and in that regard that makes us very similar to Kodima. I think this could see us come up with some interesting agreements here that would benefit us all."
