Two Weddings No Funerals
« on: December 26, 2018, 03:28:06 PM »

To:- The nations of the world

It is with great delight that the date for the wedding of Queen Klara II and Duke Leopold . It is our honour to also announce that the followings day Lady Roksana will also marry Queen Klara II. As in keeping with the tradition established by Queen Viktoriya the ceremony of the marriage to Duke Leopold will take place in the Temple of the Goddess, sadly this has limited space so will be unable to accomodate all foreign entourages. We therefore request that only Heads of State and their guest attend the ceremony, the exception to this being East Moreland who shall be permitted an extra guest as King David is taking part in the ceremony itself. There shall be a traditional Lodjain ball following the ceremony where any representative of a nation may offer petitions to the new royal couple and extra guests may attend.

The following day the ceremony of Lady Roksana to Queen Klara II shall take place in the market square of old Gaia. This shall be open to any representative of any nation and numbers shall not be limited.

We look forward to welcoming you to Lodja on January 5th 2019.

To Squadron Leader Varlaam Kohut

On behalf of the Cabbagelandetians I, as Grand Preacher Brassicus II of Cabbagelandiet, will of course, as your ally, attend to the wedding personally, even if the wedding contradicts the rules of my religion, along with my dear Grand Duchess Alys Arselnaut of Marseille. (OOC - I got permission from Vex to invite Alys over.)

May Brassicus Prime bless us,

To Squadron Leader Varlaam Kohut,

we are honored to be invited. The Emperor will attend in Person, while i will accompany him myself for the first wedding.

For the second day we will allow several notable person from the Empire to join us on our Travel, who exactly will attend is probably prone to change depending on who will follow my request to join us."

As a small note, while the Emperor has gone through the Ritual for the Isle of the Godess, i myself have not as my Sister has attended the Coronation with him. Consider writing me on the list for the ritual ahead of entering. I'll make sure my Cousin brings his Pouch.

The Imperial Family looks forward to the Occasion,

Prince Albrecht of Uburzis, Regent to Emperor Orion the First

To Variaam Kohut,

First, I would like to extend my best wishes to Queen Klara II, Duke Leopold, and Lady Roksana. Even though I myself have a busy schedule, I will be able to attend both ceremonies alone, as I have been through the ritual myself.

To  Squadron Leader Varlaam Kohut,

I, President Dominic Colbert, would like to accept your invitation. This will be my first time to visit Lodjia and the Temple of Goddess, and I have heard that there's some sort of ritual before crossing the causeway towards the temple, which interest me. I will personally attend to both weddings, and I will be joined by my Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Christine Lancaster. I wish the best wishes to Queen Klara II, Duke Leopold, and Lady Roksana, and may God and Sessifet bless you.

Truly Yours,

President Dominic Colbert

To Sir Kohut,

As the leader of Socram and Sarandib, I would like to accept your invitation. I will give my time for both ceremonies, even if it may contradict my religious views. Along with me would be the governor of Socram Island, Mahinda Sirisena. As for the ritual in the causeway, I would like to opt out for the ritual as I myself would not want to feel the wrath of Vishnu by doing a religious ritual that is not Hindu. May Brahma and Vishnu bless you.

Yours Truly,

President Bogart Khan

To:-President Khan

I am sorry to inform you that you will not be able to attend my daughters wedding ceremony, nor the function after. The Isle of the Goddess is a place of spiritual purity for our people and as such anyone unwilling to undergo the purification ritual on their first visit to the island is not permitted to set foot on the island. I apologise for this but you are still welcome to attend the marriage of Lady Roksana and Queen Klara II in Gaia Market Square.

Regards

Sqd Leader. Kohut,

The week leading up to the wedding had been a rather chaotic one and Klara's father, Varlaam had been nervously checking and re-checking everything. He had no idea why his daughter would do something so insane as to have two weddings in two days, it was only something she would think of and as such he'd pulled off a minor miracle getting everything sorted. It was only the weekend before the wedding that he came upon a major problem, "Tatiana" he still couldn't get used to calling his daughter by her selected royal name, to him she'd always be little Tatiana. "We've a problem." He said as he entered the Queen's lounge, Duke Leopold his future son-in-law had only just arrived and stopped in his tracks. For him this marriage was a political one, but he still wanted it to go without a hitch.

"What's wrong?" Leopold asked nervously before taking a seat to the right of his future wife, he was slightly annoyed Lady Roksana was already there, clearly having once more spent the night with her future wife. Leopold suspected he would be the spouse of political significance while it would always be Roksana that the Queen loved. He could live with that but he suspected the relationship would take a lot longer to develop than it would if the Queen hadn't had this stupid idea.

"Nothing for Day One" Varlaam reassured the Duke who visibly let out a sigh of relief. "Only a marriage ceremony for a Queen requires four Ladies in Waiting." He waited a moment and then saw realisation sink in, "I mean if you will insist on marrying one then we've a problem, Roksana can't do both parts and beside she can't be a Lady in Waiting and .......have we determined what title she'll have once your married?" It had been that which Klara had focused on not the impending short staffing issue.

"Roksana shall be known as the Crown Princess" Klara squeezed her hand. "And we need to sort this out quickly."

"It takes months to select and train a Lady In Waiting" Roksana said, "I remember that it took us three months to find Stasya and get her trained in her duties." the future Crown Princess remembered entering royal service herself 11 years earlier having just turned 18.

"Actually I have a suggestion" High Priestess Alla Kohun piped up. "There has been a precident of having temporary Ladies in Waiting, Queen Sonya used them once when the flu hit the Island of the Goddess and rendered her Ladies ill when it was a religious festival. She used four daughters of the Warriors of Gaia as stand ins, all of noble birth and having grown up on the island they had an idea on how things were done. Why not do the same? Whoever we select can be an observer of Roksana during the ceremony when you marry Duke Leopold, then take over the following day."

The room had people look back and forth at each other for a while before Roksana broke the silence, "I think that's probably the best solution. It certainly buys time but the issue is who you select." Roksana thought for a moment, "There is one of the many balls here on the Island tonight, Jasmina and Stasya are attending on your behalf as hosts, why not let them choose? If they pick someone you don't approve of or who isn't up to the job they can be replaced."

"The future Crown Princess has spoken." Klara kissed her on the cheek. "Problem solved."

As the ball was coming to an end you could see the youngsters coupling up, some would have been paired by parents keen to see arranged marriages approved others happy to let their sons and daughters just mingle and meet others or noble rank. It was a seasonal thing here in Lodja, the balls that ran throughout the year for "Debutants" the girls and boys aged between 16-20 who were of noble birth, single and seeking to make connections. It was at these balls traditionally young men would meet chaps they'd serve in the army with, girls would meet those they would become social butterflies with while couples formed. Into this scene of smartly dressed young men, beautiful flowing dress wearing girls was two of the Ladies in Waiting, Jasmina and Stasya. The Queen hosted a monthly ball and this time she was too busy to attend in person and so these two were filling in. They'd politley declined the more ambitious men's offer of dancing instead preferring to socialise, enjoy a few drinks and watch.

As the band began to play the last slow numbers allowing potential young couples to dance close they got together. "So what do you think?" Jasmina asked her friend. "Who stood out for you?" Stasya thought for a moment her eyes glancing around the dance-floor. She saw her brother Henrik, a 17 year old handsome boy whispering into the ears of a girl as they danced, sadly she didn't recognise the girl as otherwise she'd have suggested her.

"Tonya Bogdanovic" Stasya pointed to where a rather elegant looking young girl was surrounded by a group of three boys clearly all trying to get the last dance, a last chance to impress. "She's clever from what I hear, speaks several languages, dances well and is a beauty." Stasya watched as across the dance floor the girl coyley accepted the hand of one of the boys, Stasya added something, "and clearly ambitious" she grinned having watched her take the hand of a cousin of Lord Besarian Ivanov despite him being not the most handsome nor the most charasmatic of the three.

"Yes, she'd be my choice too." Jasmina responded, "We'll grab her when she's finished dancing." The pair watched her from across the dancefloor before waiting for the band to cease playing and the Royal Chamberlain thanking people for attending but informing them it was time to go home. Jasmina and Stasya laughed, they had been at these balls only a few years ago and remembered them well, most couples would take a walk around the gardens with their new friends, a few would even sneak off to rooms if they were lucky enough to have the use of them on the Island. Stasya however used to enjoy the "After Party" where one person would have had Daddy pull strings to hire a venue close to the dock the other side of the causeway and often the party would continue until the sun came up. Tonya however wouldn't be partaking in any of that. They accompanied her to one of the rooms off the main ball room and made her the offer.

"I....of course." Tonya said wide eyed, "Thank you" without thinking she hugged Stasya and then stepped back nervously. "I am soooo sorry" she said. "Its just, well I follow you and to think I'll be working with you. It's like a dream." Stasya accepted her apology and gave her another hug.

"Be here at 7am, you'll be following Lady Anna as she does the morning duties." The Ladies in Waiting where expected to be avaliable for the Queen's orders day or night and worked in pairs, Roksana and Anna then Jasmina and Stasya with Roksana being replaced it would be Anna who would be teaching her the ropes in a fast-track manner.

Gaia International Airport was bedecked in the national colours and the coats or arms of three families, the Kohut, Pajari and Hamrik families. While the Queen was busy getting ready on the island with her now four and a half Ladies in Waiting the Duke was sat in a hotel in Gaia enjoying a breakfast in his room while his families butler fussed around with suits. This left Sqd Leader. Kohut, the Queen's father to lead the welcoming committee as was tradition. He was smartly dressed in his Air Force uniform and had elected members of his unit to form the honour guard for the visiting heads of state and other delegates who would arrive. He was joined by Lord Silvan Pajari, the father of the future Crown Princess and Jana Hamrik, the eldest sister of the groom. None had ever meet a foreign dignatry before and each was nervous.

The High Priestess was waiting close by, she at least had meet some foreign royals and politicians before and would be needed to perform the Purification Ceremony when they reached the causeway to the Isle of the Goddess. All foreign guests would be taken in convoy to the island, and if the timing was right the tide would still be out meaning the kilometer or so crossing could be done either by foot or in cars. Those who had visited before would be free to cross at their lesuire although Alla hoped they would stay and witness the others being purified. Only one foreign guest would avoid this journey and that was King David of East Moreland, he was acting as one of the two escorts to the Queen and so had spent the night on the Island in the rooms of his girlfriend Lady Stasya. As the first airplanes were beginning to arrive Stasya finished checking King David's uniform, as tradition dictated two military officers escort the Queen he was in his Alpine Cadre uniform and his black tie was slightly out of alignment. Stasya carefully adjusted it, "There, perfect." She kissed him on the lips, "I do love a man in uniform" she said as she handed him his sword from off her bed. "I better be going, I'll see you later." She kissed him once more before going to make sure the Queen's preparations were all in hand.

Back at the airfield the first airplanes were beginning their approach. "Make a good show of it" Sqd Leader. Varlaam Kohut gave his last words of advice to his Squadron as he took a deep breath towards the arriving visitors. "On behalf of my Daughter, Her Divine Majesty Queen Klara II of Lodja, Guardian of Sessifet I welcome you to her homeland. Thank you for coming to our special occasion. I'm sure she's looking forward to having you celebrate her special day with us." He said hoping he hadn't messed up.

Ælirn was nervous as her plane set itself down on the tarmac; this was only her second official visit to a foreign nation and it was to a wedding, which was entirely different from her foray to meet with King David in East Moreland. But as the plane came to a stop she took a deep breath and steeled herself as she made her way outside, followed closely by her Uncle. "You all right there?" her Uncle asked, genuinely concerned.

"I am completely fine," she replied, grinning as she quickly glanced back, "Well, maybe not completely but as fine as I could be in this sort of situation."

"Whelp, good luck dearest niece," Allan said, smiling back.

"And good luck to you, dearest uncle," Ælirn quickly stuck her tongue out, before setting her eyes ahead of her and taking a deep breath.

The pair of them strode forward to the waiting welcoming committee. Both of them were young and with their very similar features the pair looked as if they were brother and sister, as opposed to uncle and niece. Both were dressed in ornate and luxurious clothing, though far from the typical garb one typically expects from Xæthoons they were dressed in thick furs to protect them from the Lodjain winter they were currently standing in. In addition Ælirn had an inordinate amount of jewelry on as was typical, although much of it was currently obscured by her clothing with only that jewelry sitting on her face and hands visible to the world.

"Please allow me to introduce my esteemed niece Her Imperial Majesty the Most Serene and Celestial Empress of Xæth, Ælirn xy Thælyrn," Allan said, nodding respectfully as he gestured grandly to the Empress.

"It is my pleasure; I am looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful homeland and I am looking forward to the festivities even more," Ælirn said with a smile, doing her best to make sure her teeth didn't chatter in the cold. She'd spent most of her life in the tropics, and she absolutely hated the cold.

"And I am Allan xy Thælyrn, Prince of Xæth," Allan said, nodding again as he gestured to himself, "A lovely place you have here."

"I'm willing to undertake such a so-called "purification" ceremony, even if I already consider myself beyond any hope of purification my dear. Just...hope I don't get any salt in my old eyes, or it'll swell up and one can see the insides." Prince Rodrigo of the Krimeonites told his wife, who simply chuckled in reponse, and adding the usual "Oh You" to try to ensure that everything was going to work out fine. Blending pleasure with business was perfect getaway from the Daily, busy routine of His Serene Highness and a wedding nonetheless worked out fine, anything to enable Rodrigo and Victoria to seek their way out of the skyscraper jungle, not that they despised their homeland or anything.

Their second oldest Child, Prince Charles, was due to join the the traditional ball after the first day of ceremony due to the limited space in the venue and who knows what he would be up once it began.

Wearing the appropriate attire one would expect for a wedding, and fur coats on top of said attire to shield them from the dreadful Cold that swept through the Southern hemisphere of Albion, the Princely couple exited their plane and proceeded to walk down the red carpet that would eventually lead them to their hosts.

"Greetings Sqd Leader. Kohut, I'm Prince regnant Rodrigo Gough of the Krimeonites, such an honor and pleasure to meet the father of Her Divine Majesty already." he said whilst shaking hands, thinking that they would soon be in the warmth rather than freezing themselves to death. "We have with us gifts for this festive occasion, just kindly inform our staff where one can stash them."

"Princess Victoria of the Krimeonites, Partner in Life of my dearest husband." she greeted whilst letting out her hand in order for the Sqd Leader to kiss it or shake it, whatever their customs permitted. "Our son Prince Charles will attend the latter ball as discussed prior; speaking of which, I suppose we would need to undergo the purification ceremony, yes?" Victoria inquired. "Also we have to stress that it's wonderful to finally visit your country under these circumstances, the Lodjain Community in Krimeon City have nothing but been supportive of your Daughter and urged us through proper channels to do this, the weddings being the perfect goground." she finally added.

Klara's father was a little unsure who this first person was. The royal civil service had spent days briefing him and the family about who was who but there were so many names and faces to remember he just couldn't jam the two together, luckily they followed a similar protocol to how his daughter was introduced at foreign events and he breathed a sigh of releif. "Your Imperial Majesty" he said warmly while introducing everyone else. "As for seeing the beauty of Lodja your either in the wrong place or the wrong season I'm afraid." Varlaam smiled. "You see us Kohut's are from the island of Grand Alucard, much more lush and more importantly the lovely warm waters of the sea make it much more mild. Speaking of the weather I'm sure you'd prefer to get indoors. We will be waiting for others of course but should you want to keep yourself warm the cars have the heating on and a drop of brandy in the space in the arm rest. Warm you right up." He realised he may have relaxed into things a little too much and so quickly regained his military decorum, gave a sharp salute, "Thank you for coming Your Imperial Majesty" he added as Lord Silvan Pajari escorted them to the car.

"I think I may hide here a moment or two. Us Pajari's may be from the mainland, as far away from the sea infact until you became Tuluvan, but we never get used to the cold." he chuckled as he removed the bottle of brandy from the arm-rest. "Care for a drop Your Imperial Majesty" He asked as he cupped the glasses in his hand.

Meanwhile outside the Krimeonites had turned up. "Your Highness" Varlaam saluted, "I'm sure my daughter will be happy with the mere gift of your attendance." He said diplomatically. "However gift giving is a formality for after the wedding, the newly wed couple shall sit in state for a short time and people such as the Dukes and Lords are expected to present gifts, should you wish you could always partake in that or a more private arrangement could be made." He at least had remembered those bits, "We can of course store them safely until then, I mean you don't want to be carrying things around with you all day. Leaves no hands free for a drink." He sensed himself becoming too familiar again and so figured he best stick to military doctrine, just answer the questions, move on. "Everyone is required to undertake the ceremony on their first visit to the island. That includes visiting royals or even the man delivering the Palace kitchens vegetables. All is required is to stand still and the High Priestess will take care of everything else. Perhaps you'd like to wait in the car?" He saluted once more and allowed  Jana Hamrik, the groom's younger sister to accompany the guests.

Jana was Leopold's junior by six years and was largely responsible for running his estate while he set about advancing the family name. She rather enjoyed it, taking care of the families various homes around Lodja kept her busy and her husband, a well connected 3rd son of a Duke could work from his laptop designing new buildings so the pair essentially spent their time enjoying the Hamrik family luxury. They had two children, Duke Leopold's nephew and niece but they went to boarding school and even when back for the holidays were rather happy to play in the vast grounds or go horse riding. Jana however had never expected to suddenly not be hosting a few local minor nobles but royalty from afar. "I'm intrigued to hear what opinions your Lodjains have of Klara, I must say she's shaken things up a fair bit here, not always been everyones favourite Queen." she said matter of factly, "Still I suppose soon she'll be my sister-in-law, I'll have to remember to call her Tatiana then." she removed the Brandy and offered the glasses, "Personally I prefer Vodka but we must deal with what is presented to us."

Prince Regent Albrecht and Emperor Orion arrived via Helicopter, seeing as the frequent Traffic made it impossible for their Airship to Land save at the regular airport. They had parked it a few clicks away with more guests for the second day, and some wealthy tourists on board.

they both where equipped with isolated undergarments while wearing the traditional tunic and Toga attire. It was still freezing. Orion nodded to Albrecht as they arrived, making their way over to Klara's father:

"Congratulations on your daughters Wedding." Albrecht said, as they came closer to the man.

"Ave, Lord Kohut." Orion said, visibly cold: "I must admit, i am rather glad i can skip the ritual today and go almost straight inside."

Albrecht chuckled, while adjusting Orions golden wreath: "My sister will make arrangements in the background, if you don't mind Lord Kohut. She went ahead to the Island on her own, taking care of some travel accommodations, but will observe the rest of the rituals from the outside."

On the Isle of the Goddess the Achkaerinese Ambassador to Lodja Lady Emalet Silvermist was finishing getting ready for the first day of celebrations, the presence of so many esteemed dignitaries merited the extra preparatory work. She'd been in touch with the Marble Palace ahead of the Emperor's imminent arrival to coordinate things from her end, it wasn't that much different to the Queen's coronation but it was still better to be prepared than not. She looked up as her aid, well voluntary aid would be more accurate, Deborah Thornton walked in.

"The Emperor's touching down in the next few minutes." Deborah said
"Then we'd better get Gaia side of the causeway hadn't we?" Emalet said

As luck would have it Emalet and Deborah arrived on the Gaia side of the causeway just as the guests started arriving, it wasn't long until they saw the Achkaerinese car arrive and Emperor Peter along with his wife Renee get out, as well as the Emperor's sister and her two children.

"Your Majesty." Emalet said greeting her monarch
"Emalet." Peter said "How's life in Lodja?"
"Good." Emalet said "Nothing too tricky. The odd naval vessel on fire but apart from that..." that got a grin from the Emperor which signaled to Emalet that she'd done her job and got the Emperor into the frame of mind he needed to be in, which after the flight he'd had was no small achievement.
"Shall we meet him?" Renee asked

Emalet nodded and led the group over to where Kohut was waiting.
"Lord Kohut it's good to meet you may I offer our congratulations on your daughters wedding." Peter said offering his, metal, hand and shaking the Lodjan's before introducing his family. He'd been to the island a few times as had Renee however it was Peter's sister Esme and her children Cerys and Jack who Deborah now slowly guided towards the causeway for the well known ritual, Peter and Renee would be taken straight over to the island by Emalet.

Ælirn quickly followed after Lord Pajari, eager to reach the car and end her short foray into the cold of the Lodjain winter. "Oh, that's niiice," Ælirn said, relaxing as she slipped into her native Xæthoon tongue, but when offered the glass of brandy the Empresscame out of it and shook her head, "Oh, oh no thank you. We don't really drink."

"Well we most certainly do," came Allan's reply, chuckling as he took a glass, "So, I don't think we actaully caught your name. So tell us a little about yourself; you say you're from around here? Or from the mainland at least."

Prince Rodrigo and Princess Victoria followed Jana to their vehicle, receiving each a glass of tasty brandy in the meanwhile as they further waited for clearance to undertake this peculiar 'purification' ceremony that was utmost required by anyone who wished to enter this holy isle.

Rodrigo, making a the characteristic sound to indiciate that the beverage tasted good, replied: "As noted loads of members from the Lodjain community whom we've communicated directly with, whether it had been in their neighbourhood or through audiences in the Royal Palace, have all overwhelmingly speaking expressed their support for Klara." he said with a smile, "Many feel that it's signalling a new change occuring across the Queendom itself and Klara distinguishing herself as an open, free-minded new face which is needed, whilst keeping vital traditions intact, without discrediting the past successes of the predecessors, naturally; Thus I can admit that the Principality's eager to extend her relations with the Queendom, on behalf of the Lodjain community as well." he ended and took a few clunks from the brandy.

"Of course there's bound to be conservatives here and there who'd prefer a different character to run the entire show, figuratively speaking." Victoria added as she paused from her sipping, "and as for brandy well I'm almost on the same page as you are my dear, prefer our own Krimeonite whisky of the Godderham and Worts brand myself but it's not harmful trying something out of the ordinary. Our nation has in fact one of the largest whiskey distilleries in Mundus, if I add to that note" she said proudly.

"So Lady Jana, was it? May we get to know you more other than the fact that Her Majesty will soon be your sister-in-law and that you're kind enough to be serving old folks drinks." Rodrigo chuckled.

The limited invitations to the weddings on Lodja were a small blessing for Andrew and Camryn. The couple had decided to come a week before the ceremonies and spent some "quality time" away from the public and on one Lodjan beach or another. Refreshed and recharged, the day of the first wedding dawned and they knew they had to come back to reality. As Andrew sat upright in the bed, giving the report on Lodja a final read, Camryn brought him another cup of coffee accompanied by a quick peck on the cheek.

"I'm going to be burnt out after two weddings." Said Camryn.

"Perhaps a little hung over as well." Laughed Andrew.

"Perhaps. I don't know how they will manage it...TWO spouces?"

"The Lodjans have been managing it for quite some time. I'm sure it will be just fine. I'm curious to know if the multiple spouces thing is just for the Queen or whether our Dear Friend David will also be partaking in a polyamorous relationship in the near future."

Camryn, who had been chaning for a shower, stepped back into the bedroom dressed only in a towel. One hand covered her mouth as she gasped, eyes twinkling in mischeviousness.

"Noooo. How incredibly scandalous."

"Scandalous, maybe. But it could present with seveal benefits."

Too late, Andrew realized what he said. Looking up he saw the bunched up towel hurling towards him. Before the towel hit him and subsequently knocking his coffee all over himself and the report, he was treated to a brief glimpse of Camryn's remarkable bottom as she laughed and ran to the shower.

"Don't you be getting any ideas!" Called Camryn.

Having jumped up from the bed, Andrew looked at the coffee soaked sheets, the coffee soaked report and the coffee soaked King. As he heard the shower turn on he smiled and mentally shrugged to himself. "What the hell, I'm already dressed for it." As he stepped into the shower, Camryn turned around and put her arms around his neck.

"What took you so long?"

A couple hours later, King Andrew and Camryn Hopkins stepped out of the diplomatic SUV at the appointed reception area to once again run the gauntlet of VIP guests, some known, some not.

Grand Preacher Brassicus II arrived at the airport, with his usual green hat on him. He didn't really want to go to a wedding, especially a heretical double wedding. Anyways, it was an excuse to spend time with Alys, that was the only thing keeping him from just running off from this whole "double-wedding" affair. He marched forwards to Varlaam Kohut, hopefully Alys being right behind him. He didn't have time to turn around and check though, as he shook hands with the Squadron Leader.

"Greetings Squadron Leader. I'm Grand Preacher Lahana Vaizi Brassicus II of Cabbagelandiet. An honour to meet you." Brassicus stopped talking for a second to fix his hat, which was about to fall off of his head. "I hope that the second day ball won't be too full, as my children, Katarina and Peterhoff, will attend on the second day as well." Brassicus stepped back to let Alys introduce herself.

King Lapu would have flown himself alone to Lodjia, like he did when Queen Klara was crowned. However, due to weather conditions in Quintopia Bay, he had to have someone else pilot his plane. While on-board, he drank several shots of whiskey and a bottle of beer to numb him from the cold, before spraying some mouth cleanser to hide the stench. When he landed, he greeted the bride’s father. “Greetings, sir. Allow me to congratulate your daughter by giving this traditional Wewaxkang gift for the newly-weds: eggs of our national bird, the Quintelian Parrot. Since your daughter will be married to two people, she’ll receive two eggs. This gift symbolizes how much care Queen Klara, er should I say, Tatiana, and her husband and wife will put to each other. There are more symbols for eggs or hatchlings as a gift, but, I don’t want to bore you with such details.” King Lapu explained as an assistant gave a box with holes to the Squdron Leader. “As for the better gift, if I should say so myself, a bottle of lambanog, or coconut wine is what the parents will receive.” He continued, as another assistant gave the bottle to Varlaam.

President Colbert’s flight was not much of a problem, landing in time. A photographer for the media followed him while Christine was on his side, holding each others hands. He saw King Lapu giving all the gifts and whatnot to Varlaam, and Christine whispered to his ear. “Don’t you think we should have brought some wine or jewelry as a gift?”

“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure it’s not a requirement.” Dominic replied, although much more audible than a whisper. The two let King Lapu finish his rambling and whatnot before they introduced themselves. “Greetings, sir Kohut.” Dominic said, not using the official military title. “I am Dominic Colbert, President of Pardclinia, and this is Christine Lancaster, the Pardclinian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Please do forgive us if we did not bring any gifts, as most of the native traditions have been mostly forgotten in our nation. It isn’t a requirement though, is it?” President Colbert ended with a bit of a comedic remark.

OOC: I’ll have President Khan arrive on second wedding day.

Squadron Leader Kohut had to smile, "Emperor Orion, I'm no Lord as such, I'm a minor noble by birth which essentially means I'm a Sheriff but my military rank puts me above that I suppose, we're just fortunate that Tat....I mean Klara's elevation has taken us far above the station we could ever have hoped to achieve." He hoped he hadn't embarassed the Emperor, "I'm thankful that you've attended today and I'm certain we can get you into the warm pretty quickly Your Imperial Majesty" he said as the Emperor and his entourage were escorted to a waiting car.

The Squadron Leader had to smile, it seemed this "Lord" stuff was spreading, "Emperor" he bowed as he address Peter, "I'm a mere Air Force officer and Sheriff, my dear daughter hasn't even seen fit to give her dear old father a Lordship yet." he feigned an insult. He greeted all the others in the Achkaerin entourage, he knew their ambassador on the island was rather active there and as such knew her a little, "I trust you'll have an enjoyable stay, I believe your Ambassador has been very busy." He added as like everyone else Peter was ushered into a car, one of the more larger ones considering the group size. "I look forward to speaking again later Your Imperial Majesty."

Lord Pajari was sat with the delegation from Xaeth, "My apologise Empress" he said to Ælirn as he offered her some water instead of the Brandy. "I had assumed the Squadron Leader would have done that." he shrugged as though it was no big deal. "My name is Silvan, I'm fortunate enough to be the father of the Lady in Waiting, Roksana, soon to be Crown Princess......at least I think that's the title she'll be getting. We hold the seat of Noginsk, the most Western city in Lodja. I like to think of it as also the hub of Lodja's artistic community, it was during one of her many visits that Queen Sonya, the former Guardian of Sessifet, meet my daughter as she played cello in our cities orchestra. She was impressed with her and a fan of classical music and so my daughter at the age of 18 was whisked away to the Isle.  Myself I manage our families interests best I can but I suspect things may soon be passing to my eldest daughter Katya as I'll be expected to undertake more official business once Roksana is royalty. Its rather exciting." he said more to himself than anyone else. "How fares royal marriage in Xaeth Your Majesty?" he asked as the vehicles began to move off

"Well Your Highness" Jana began, "I'm merely Jana, my brother got all the family titles I just got a few nice houses" she wasn't angry at all. Her brother was one who made sure he took good care of his family and he and Jana got on well, he'd given her a few houses and part of the family business interests and so she wasn't politically well connected just yet but she was comfortably well off. "In terms of knowing me there isn't much to know really. I look after Leo's property while he travels on business and make sure that he's financially prosperous but other than that I simply try and bring up my two children, one son, one daughter. Both in their early teens and rather excited to think they could be royalty, although I suspected Queen Klara will not be extending royal titles to nephews and neices as traditionally its just immediate family, although she has shown herself in many ways to not be traditional." Seeing the car in front head off their own car soon followed suit.

Squadron Leader Kohut watched the first of the cars head off as the Seaforthian group arrived. "Your Majesty" he bowed to Andrew, "Ma'am" he nodded respectfully to Camryn. "I believe sir this is your first visit to Lodja" he said warmly, " I hope you enjoy your stay and should you need anything during your time here please don't hesitate to ask." He knew the Seaforthians had a fine military heritage and wished his own nation could have such a thing one day but his aircraft where barely airworthy these days and that was in his eyes an improvement. The pair where escorted by a military officer to the waiting car where he furnished each of them with a nice warming Brandy as their own car hurried away to catch up with the slower moving convoy ahead.

The next introduction Varlaam Kohut wished he didn't have to make. He had little issue with the Grand Preacher, he was a man he knew very little about beyond what he'd read in the media about some kind of deal between TUNA and his rather undeveloped nation. It was Alys, a woman that their nation didn't recognise with her former glory, "Your Majesty" he said to Brassicus, "Ma'am" he said as politely as he could manage. "I hope the second day will be even fuller" Varlaam said, "A father has a responsibility in Lodja to ensure his daughters wedding reflects her status in society, as such with her being a Queen......well it has got to be rather huge. I suggest you perhaps drink lots of water tonight, hydrate to avoid a hangover." He gave his advise with a grin. "I look forward to seeing you on the Isle." he added with another handshake as the drivers sought to quickly catch up with the convoy.

King Lapu looked like he'd started the celebration early, "Thank you for the kind gift Your Majesty" Varlaam handed the bottle off to a waiting aide, "I hope that we can perhaps enjoy a glass of it later tonight." He let go the fact that only the immediate family used Tatiana as the form of address for the Queen, and then only when she was in private. He imagined the High Priestess would make a correction should it happen later on in the ceremony. "For now I hope we can quickly get out this cold and onto the island." He watched as yet another in the waiting line of officers escorted the King to a waiting car, hesitating slightly as to whether to offer Brandy or water.

Hot on the heels of Lapu was Colbert. "Mr.President the greatest gift is your prescence at the marriage of my daughter" he said not letting slip that he thought the President a bit of a cheap skate. " The only requirement is the purification ceremony" he said looking at his watch, "Perhaps we should get going." Soon after the cars where all in one long line winding along the coastal road heading towards the causeway.

The High Priestess was waiting for the cars, it had took slightly longer to get everyone through the greetings and now the causeway was beginning to be licked by the ocean. She waited for everyone to get out of their cars, a vast array of the high and mighty of Mundus, "I am affraid we can not use the causeway." she apologised, " If those of you who have visited the island before wish to make the crossing we've one of the two royal barges waiting. "Of course anyone who wishes to stay and witness it or be repurified is welcome to stay here" she waited for those making the crossing to get into the barge and watched as the boys of the local rowing club began heaving on the oars taking them across the small straits on what would be a ten minute journey. The crew sang traditional songs as they heaved on the oars helping them keep in time.

"Very well we should begin" Alla said as she waited for the two young Priestesses who were now her eyes and ears full time on the island moved into position. "I would ask that you each keep your eyes rather tightly shut once I begin the main part." She began reciting from memory a prayer asking Sessifet to watch over and bless the Island, the people of Lodja and those about to cross into the realm of Sessifet. "Salt, it is the symbol of purity. Take away the water that surrounds the home of the Goddess and it is the crystals of salt that remain. Salt halts the ravages of decay on our food, it can clean wounds. It is a blessing from the Goddess." She approached the first in the group and motioned for them to close their eyes, she began walking around the group in a circle praying as she sprinkled salt on each of those present the two young Priestesses following to keep her supplied with the white crystals. When the process was finished the High Priestess handed each a small leather bag, embossed with the Queens coat of arms and the date of the wedding. It was full of salt that she had scooped from her own large bag and had been made by herself just for the ceremony today.

"The second barge awaits" Varlaam explained as he began helping load it with those now pure souls. The youngest Priestess would wait for any straglers who would be brought along by waiting members of the Air Force High Command. Just as the first one had crossed so did the second with the air full of song and a fine spray from the ocean. Once at the other side Lord Besarian Ivanov was waiting along with the others, a large crowd had gathered to greet them, the streets already had large tables stretching down the middle of the road that wound round the island taking people by foot up to the summit where the Palace stood.

"The locals will be having a street party once the ceremony is done." Besarian explained as he greeted each of the newer arrivals. Children kept running up to the women in the group handing them small daisy chains. Leopolds sister thanked one of the girls and slipped the chain onto her wrist. The children were keen to meet the foreigners as despite getting lots of well known members of nobility they tended to be just Lodjian. "Today we'll be using the railway, I don't think fighting our way through bunting and tressle tables is why we're here" Besarian added as they made their way into the railway carriage, it went almost vertcally up the Islands Cliff face and was a rather short journey, perhaps one of the shortest railway journeys in Mundus, but it saved a good fifteen minute walk that could really burn the calf muscle.

At the top there was a scene of organised chaos, lines of people being patient to get into the Palace, several had sneaked across and were truned away having no invitation for the Palace, no doubt they'd just mingle with those at the foot of the island. The VIP's were meanwhile were simply waved inside. The main ball room was decorated with Queen Klara's coat of arms on one side while Duke Leopolds was on the other, during the ceremony they'd be alternated showing a coming together. "Hello" a non-Lodjain voice greeted them, King David of East Moreland looking smart in his Alpine Cadre Black Uniform. He exchanged hand shakes with those he knew as serving girls brought around various wines for the guests. The Morelander monarch would be one of the Queen's escorts, the other being Tikhon Savva, someone who at one point people believed would marry the Queen himself. He still held out hopes of being a later addition to her family. They'd accompany the Ladies in Waiting who would be part of the ceremony, Lady Stasya and Lady Roksana who were busy helping the Queen finish getting ready.

"We've only got ten minutes" Stasya said nervously as she watched Lady Anna's nimble fingers working a sewing needle on the Queen's wedding dress, a dark blue and gold affair as was regulation, the gold thread showing the Hamrik family crest but one of the threads had come loose.

"Plenty of time" Anna said as she worked away with experienced hands, she was a rather skilled seamstress something she suspected Stasya couldn't do despite having her own fashion line. She held the dress up and declared her work done, they quickly zipped Queen Klara into it before Stasya set about redoing her hair. " Make sure Jasmina is in the hall" Anna instructed the stand in Lady in Waiting Tonya who bowed and hurried off to find Jasmina who was busy flirting with Besarian outside the Ball Room.

"Lady Jasmina" the nervous young lady in waiting bowed to the Lord of the Conclave. "Lady Anna says you need to be in the Ball Room." Jasmina rolled her eyes, gave Besarian a kiss on the cheek and then motioned Tonya to follow her inside. "Honoured Guests" Jasmina said loudly, "Soon we shall head down into the Temple of the Goddess, the heart of the Island, it is very small so hence why only two people per party are allowed, the rest of you can watch there." She pointed to a large screen at one end of the Ball room, "Following that the Throne Room next door will be opened to allow the Lodjain nobility to pay their respects should you wish to do likewise you're more than welcome but it is not required." She looked around trying to gauge who would. "This is Tonya, she shall be a temporary Lady in Waiting, please give her your name if you wish to meet the newlyweds in the Throne Room and she'll arrange it. Meanwhile I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has." Jasmina stood waiting to offer help where needed.

Ælirn graciously took the glass of water and started to slowly sip it. "Crown Princess? That's a rather strange title to use," Ælirn said, thinking allowed, "Er, We just mean it's usually reserved for heirs. To, like, differentiate them from all the other Princes and Princesses there are, we mean. It's not usually used for royal consorts really, I don't think." She stopped her babbling and practically buried her face in her glass, avoiding eye contact with Lord Pajari and hoping she hadn't offended him in any way. Prince Allan chuckled and patted the Empress' shoulder, though he paid close attention to every word coming from Lord Pajari's mouth.

"Royal marriage fares pretty well, we have to say," Allan said, answering for his still embarrassed niece, "Though it's been a fair bit since the last Prince or Princess was married since my nieces and nephews, as well as myself, still remain unmarried. Hopefully a situation we over in Xæth hope to remedy soon."

Ælirn had no addition to that except to perhaps sink into her seat a bit more in embarassment.

By the time the car arrived and the imperial pair stepped out of the car Ælirn had managed to brush her embarrassment aside, or at least bury it for the moment. She stood proud and regal as she made her way to the High Priestess, not letting any of her worries or anxieties breach the surface of her demeanor. The pair of them naturally stayed to undergo the purification ritual, seeing as how neither had undergone it previously. The two quietly stood as the ritual was done, though after the pair made it to the barge Allan groaned and ran his hand over his hair. "Lovely," he said, unamused as he picked a grain of salt out of his hair, "Salt. Why salt? No, seriously. Why salt?"

"She explained why it was salt, weren't you paying attention?" Ælirn asked, obviously confused, "And it's not that much, anyway."

"I... I didn't mean that literally, Ælirn," Allan sighed, "And why aren't you bothered? You hate things getting in her hair."

"We are ignoring it for the sake of decorum," the Empress replied, her face stoic and imperious before she cracked a grin and laughed, "No, it's just fine if we're prepared. And like we said, it's not much."

The two mostly continued chatting to themselves in Xæthoon as the group made their way to the Palace, though they certainly took in the scenery as well. Ælirn was quite enamored; she'd been outside Xæth so few times that it was still wondrous all by itself and the preparations she saw reminded her of certain festivals in Xæth. And by the time they reached the railway Ælirn had numerous sets of daisy chains in her hands. She couldn't refuse the local children, as that would be rude, but she couldn't really slip them onto her arms like she'd noticed one of the others in the group do. It wasn't that she already had numerous pieces of jewelry on her arms, though she did, but because the sleeves of her fur coat didn't exactly give her as much access to her arms as she needed to slip them on easily. Allan gave a quiet chuckle when he noticed his niece carrying all the daisy chains, and Ælirn shot him a dirty look.

She was still carrying them in her hands when she entered the palace, the thought of just leaving them somewhere never having even crossed her mind. And her chest tightened as King David commenced his handshakes. Her eyes darted back and forth between her two hands as her mind raced, trying to figure out what to do with the two fistfuls of daisy chains. Thankfully she was saved before King David arrived when her Uncle held out both of his hands. She quickly transferred them over with a quick "thank you" as King David arrived.

"It is a pleasure to see you again, King David. We hope you've been well," Ælirn said with a smile, as she shook the fellow monarch's hand.

"Oh, and please allow us to introduce my uncle Prince Allan," she said, gesturing at the man who looked more like her brother than anything else.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, you Majesty," Allan said, giving a respectfully low nod of his head.

"Thank you for the advice, but I don't drink. I think I'll be drowning myself in tea if you have any, and last time I checked tea doesn't make you get hungover." Brassicus laughed and made his way to get salted. He had gotten purified before, so he could pass, but he decided to stay with Alys and get re-purified while waiting becouse why not. He had time, he wasn't rushing for anything.

"Bloody hell, pretty sure they purified my hat, not me!" said Brassicus to Alys, beginning to shake the salt off of his hat. He continued to shake the salt off of the rest of his clothing items while on his way to the palace, which irritatingly his coat had caught a lot of salt.

"I believe I've never met you before! You're King David aren't you? I'm Grand Preacher Brassicus II, an honor to meet you." he said replying to King David's hello. He then managed to find himself a seat, dissapointed by the fact there was only wine.

"Well then, thank Brassicus Prime I brought this over!" thought Brassicus, finding his emergancy flask of tea and pouring it to a nearby wine cup. "So Alys, how have you been since the last time we met?" said Brassicus, hoping to spark up conversation.

While Albrecht went through the Ritual, Orion grabbed the Pouch he got at the coronation. He entered the first barge, sprinkling some salt over his hands as he had read on the internet.

He raised an eyebrow as the first guard didn't want to let him pass, mistaking him for one of the kids from the island.

"So, who do you think would wear a golden wreath today and come in a Tunic in this Freezing weather?" Orion smiled friendly but determined, giving the man a few seconds before the coin dropped, and walking on with a deep breath. Time for the Game Face.

Orion made his way over to the other Monarchs meeting, inclining his head: "Your Highnesses, Empress Aelirn, King David, Brassicus of Cabbagelandiet. Good day Duchess Alys as well." Orion didn't intend to get up to much conversation yet, they all seemed busy and the Ceremony was to start soon anyway.

"Yes, we got a little arrangement. It's a spot where the shadow will make any pictures taken shoddy tomorrow, so cameras are not aimed there." Adelheid walked through the Throne room, nodding to some people she recognized with a smile, while talking on a Headset:

"Orion is here already, socializing with the other Monarchs it seems. Gifts for today and tomorrow got deposited with the Lodjans, i don't think Klara even has time to peek. I even saw Duke Teacup." She raised an eyebrow: "Yeah, we made arrangements for the new ambassador along the lines, but he wont arrive until after the weddings. The people ehre are busy as it is. I'll stay and mingle in the Throne room while Orion and Albrecht will be inside. See you later at the Ship."

She deflated slightly shaking her head gently, getting the Earpiece out. She raised an eye seeing the new girl with the Royal Team, making a mental note to inquire who that was.

Albrecht wasn't in a particular good mood, but the twins where still missing and work piled, but this event was important. He just wished he had more time to spent with the others. On the boat he already was checking mails and answered requests again. He had a couple of busy events ahead.

Though noticing Orion, on his own, trying to at least seem mingling sent a short smile over his lips. e decided to stay a little off side until they got to the Temple, allowing his cousin to act on his own for a bit.

Both Rodrigo and Victoria enjoyed the ceremony they just endured, getting some salt sprinkled over all of their faces wasn't something one were to experience every day, and even more pleased when they received a bag each containing what was arguably the finest salt anywhere on Mundus. Rodrigo tasted a bit of it as the couple made their way to the Royal gathering, "This would suit perfectly for all meals, why not dillute it in my daily bath as well." with Victoria simply laughing a little at that remark.

Rodrigo and Victoria bowed and knelt respectively, "It sure is a great occasion for us to finally get together, hope everything's well between y'all." Rodrigo began to greet the others, shaking hands and what not. "Say, does anyone know whom I should contact for an annual supply of salt? This might be the finest I've ever tasted and touched, on a serious note."

"Lady Tonya, would you please be kind enough to take down our names as we would like to meet the newly weds in the throne room." Victoria inquired with the person responsible whilst Rodrigo was busy proclaiming his love for the salt itself.

King Piripi and his wife Queen Maata had arrived the day prior to the wedding. They'd both been to the Isle on several occasions thanks to the CNN connection and so had made their way straight up to the Ball Room. Piripi was pleased to see King David and crossed over embracing him in a manly hug while touching foreheads, "Great to see you again" he said as Maata, with much more delicacy than her husband greeted King David. The King then went round the room introducing himself to those he had never meet while sharing "the breath of life"[1] with those who he had meet before. He approached Tonya, "I would like a moment of the newly weds time when appropriate" he said before heading back off to mingle and enjoy a glass or two of wine.

Alys emptied her wine cup and rolled her eyes at Brassicus' incessant yammering. Definitely ADD. Alys deftly stripped off his coat in one motion and shook it out with a series of sharp snaps. Folding the coat over her arm she took Brassicus by the other.

"Uhh... Alright Alys..." Brassicus said confused, trying to understand what just had happened. "D-did I do something wrong d-dear?" he said calmly, finding a seat for Alys. He started twiddling with his thumbs sitting idly. "You've been a-acting like there is something w-wrong with me, and you've been acting a bit... s-strange."

Brassicus' voice was getting a whole lot shakey and stressed as he went on talking. "And... Err... Umm... Would-d y-you care to voi... T-tell me what is wrong m-my de... Umm... Dear?"
