PoliciesStance
Drugs LawDrug use allowed in certain religious ceremonies and contexts, but otherwise illegal.
Same Sex Marriage   Allowed as long as the couple obtains special permission from the Church. An old law that simply hasn't been challenged.
EducationEducation is done through the Church. Compulsory education through primary and secondary school. Student must pick three specialization going into secondary school, focusing their education. After secondary school, students may continue their education into college or join the workforce. Despite being educated by the church, Orphelans are taught a variety of topics, including those that goes against the state religion's beliefs.
Property Ownership   Property Ownership is unrestricted. But people must register their primary living home with a local church official. This is more for census data than anything else
Voting   There are no democratic government institutions within the Imperium. In addition, while the idea of holding a referendum has come up before, it has never actually been followed through with.
ProstitutionIn most parts of the Imperium, no. But in the Bloodplains, the lands of the Maar Clans, prostitution is allowed through the Jisu Sect.
Freedom of the PressDue to the lack of a single centralized ruling faction, state sponsored media is almost impossible within the Imperium. As such, the nation enjoys an extremely independent Press, despite few legal protections supporting it.
Freedom of MovementYes, with a few exceptions. Certain provinces have much stricter borders, for example the province of Dizii maintains closed borders and requires a government order to enter.
AbortionLegal, but often times not needed. The Imperium enjoys one of the most extensive foster care systems run through the Church.
Health CareFORMULATING
Gun LawsDiffers from provinces to provinces, but usually no. The Bloodplains has almost no gun laws due to the Clans working like militia forces.
Internet NeutralityThe Internet is a free space within the Imperium.
Business OwnershipBusinesses are fairly regulated, subject to strict government oversight. Most of these regulations are health and safety or work protection related.
MarriageMarriages are permitted among any individuals who have undergone the Rites of Adulthood (usually around the age of 17). Among the Maar Clans, polygamy is the norm. This takes the form of group marriages rather than brother-husbands or sister-wives.

The Pantheon of the Hallowed

In the beginning their were two entities, the Space Dragon and the Chaos Dragon. With every breath, the Space Dragon grew the universe. In contrast, with every breath, the Chaos Dragon consumed the universe. In this state, the world was in balance. But eventually, the Chaos Dragon's hunger grew and she betrayed her sister, hoping to be able to consume everything. The Dragons battled for a millennium, and eventually both were weakened and forced to slumber to recover their wounds. The Space Dragon breathed life into the 9 Seraphim, gods who would oversee the universe in her absence. The Seraphim lived in peace and created a utopia ruling over their children, the Angels. And as the Angels mated, a new life was created- the humans. But the peace did not last, the Chaos Dragon awoke and return to consume the universe. The Seraphim, Angels, and humans fought together to defeat the Dragon, at great cost. The Angels were all wiped out and the grand nation was in ruins. Seeking to protect the humans, the Seraphim created Mundus and allowed the humans to live there. The Seraphim are said to often take the forms of humans and walk among Mundus, entertaining themselves through their adventures among human life.

Followers of the Pantheon often chose one of the Seraphim to become their patron. They give special prayer and gifts to this Seraph for they feel a special connection with them. It is not uncommon for one's patron to change over the course of their life, but an individual will always have a special connection with a god they have sought the favor of.

Seraphim
NemphaifonNemphaifon is the Seraph of Water and Sky. She is sometimes thought of a the leader of the Seraphim, but this is less of an official role. She is the patron to leaders, sailors, pilots, and travelers. It is often said that Nemphaifon has never once step foot on Mundus, choosing to remain in the Seraphim Kingdom.
VomridrelVomridrel, sometimes called the Allsfather, is the Seraph of Life. When Mundus was created, he crafted and breathed life into all the plants and animals. He now spends his ways walking and living among the creatures of Mundus. He is said to never take the form of a human, preferring that of his creations. He is the patron of nature and animal lovers.
BastiusBastius is the Seraph of Protection. It is his duty to forever stand watch over The Red. As such, after the war with the Chaos Dragon, there are few stories and myths of him. Despite this, he still an extremely popular Seraph. He is the patron of police, security, and parentage.
LilithLilith is the Seraph of Retribution. She was the lover of The Red, and as such lost everything in the war with the Chaos Dragon. Unlike her lover, she chose to remain loyal to the rest of the Seraphim. Lilith has deep distaste for love, having been scorned by it. Myths of creatures like Medusa and the Sirens are often thought to be Lilith, praying on young lustful men. Unlike the other Seraphs, she is often not a permanent patron Seraph, but rather prayed to when one has too been scorn by love.
The RedThis Seraph has been stuck from history. His name and what he ruled over has long been forgotten. He chose to side with the Chaos Dragon and for his treason, he is cursed to an eternal prison within the afterlife. Because of his associations with the number 5 and the color red, both are considered extremely unlucky. There have been a number of heretical movements focused on The Red, often times believing him to be misunderstood.
JisuJisu is the Seraph of Blood. She is the chosen patron of the Maar Clans. She is a legendary warrior and cannibal. It is said that she gains strength by consuming the flesh of those she defeats in battle. In addition to her skills at warcraft, she is also infamous for her carnal appetites- perversions of the highest order. Jisu is thought to perhaps be the Seraph that spends the most time among the humans. She is disliked by many of the other Seraphim because she is seen as animalistic and brutish.
ReaverReaver is the Seraph of Tricks. Reaver is a shapeshifter, and their true form is unknown even to the rest of the Seraphim. Reaver is genderless, often appearing in legends as both female and male. Reaver's personality is extremely hard to define, for they often take new forms and act in unusual ways. Reaver has become a patron to outcasts, actors, and artists. Despite this, Reaver is an extremely accomplish warrior, capable of even dueling with Jisu. Reaver is said to have gone mad in the final battle with the Chaos Dragon, as they were the one to strike the final blow.
NecraNecra is the Seraph of Death. It is her duty to guide the recently departed from Mundus to the afterlife. She often choses the shape of a ferryman for this task. She is said to be closed off and cold to outsiders. But those that she has left in know her to be extremely loyal and kind. Necra is deeply in love with Reaver and wishes for the Seraph to join her dominion so the two may live together forever. As such, she often appears in Reaver's journeys trying to kill the Seraph. Necra is also connected with Reincarnation, as she was killed by the Chaos Dragon before being reborn.
RizelthialRizelthial is the Seraph of Flames. While originally The Red ruled over fire, Rizelthial was gifted his powers after he was defeated. Rizelthial is the youngest of the Seraphim. He has a tendency posses some of the more traditional traits of the youthful; idealism, naivety, and hope. When waiting for good news, it is often for Nitehymn to light a candle as an offering to Rizelthial.

The Imperial Family

Governess Niru, Matriarch of the current Imperial Family; The Omega Bloodline.

The Imperial Family is the central ruling faction of the Imperium. While a matriarch or patriarch heads the family, often times the rest of the Bloodline is still heavily involved in court politics. The Governor or Governess picks a heir apparent, the Crystal Prince/Princess. After the death of the monarch, the heir is bared from ascending to the throne for 6 full months, or the Holltar. The Holltar is infamous, as in the past it was common for anyone within the Bloodline to kill the Crystal Prince/Princess and take the title for themselves. Recent generations have avoided this by having fewer children and the tradition of an Imperial Harem has fallen into disuse.

His status of heir apparent was striped away. He left Novox soon after, refusing to even speak with Niru. Since then he has mostly managed to remain away from the public eye. At some point he had a child, Quin, with a commoner. Today, he lives among the Maar Clans, a life that seems to suit him.

Cultures of the Imperium (WIP)

Agni
The Agni are easy to recognize because of their silver hair and they are often dressed in red, a color no other race within the Imperium would dare wear. The Agni are notable because before the creation of Mundus, they fought alongside the Chaos Dragon. For many years the Agni beared the shame of their ancestors, but in time have proven themselves to be loyal to the Seraphim and to the Imperium; devout followers of the Pantheon of the Hallowed.

Azrul

Cilkoth

Kasen
The Kasen lived originate from the coasts of Orphela. They are a vibrant people know for their social nature. Kasen have many festivals and celebrations, and a number of rules surrounding social gatherings. It is also extremely common for the Kasen to have dyed hair, a ritual that dates back to their early history.

Maar
The Maar are the infamous tribesmen of the Bloodplains. They are the most radically different from the rest of the peoples of the Imperium. Their society is divided into a number of clans. Despite the importance of one's birth clan, it is extremely common for Maar to join and live among various different clans throughout their lives. In many ways the life of the clans is still the same of its ancient days. They live as nomadic hunter gather society. But they are not without the modern convinces of life. Cell phones, laptops, trucks, guns and more are common sights within a clan's camping sight.

The Maar Clans are in some ways militant societies. Leadership of a clan is always given to the strongest warrior among them. As such, anyone within a clan at anytime can challenge a Chieftain for their position. This places an extreme importance on the Chieftain to ensure that their people are happy. Almost every Maar is trained as a skilled hunter, horseman, and soldier. Because of this, before the stability of modern era, the clans easily threaten the peace of the Imperium. It was a Maar that was first able to conquer and establish the Imperium.

Religion is also slightly different among the Maar. While they are still followers of the Pantheon of the Hallowed, they chose to focus their worship on one specific Seraph, Jisu. And their isolation from the rest of the Imperium has lead to them developing a number of unique holy practices. The religious auhtority within the Bloodplains are the Jisu Sect, a female priesthood. The Sibyl, the women of the Jisu Sect, serve the clan in a variety of roles. While in theory the Jisu Sect answers to the Church, in practices this is almost impossible to enforce.
