The International Party narrowly wins elections

The results for the Chancellor election have been released. The International Party, headed by Atomi Hektor won the place of Chancellor narrowly from the jaws of the Nationalist Party, headed by Abubakar Waaiz, beating them by only 3% of the vote. The Democratic party did even worse this year, down 11% from last decade's election.
Chancellor Hektor was welcomed into office this Wednesday by Arch-Protector Annakol and High-Priest Amarna. The first thing they did was pass a resolution on International Cooperation, the first passed for many years.
Main party results for this year:
International Party-34%
National Party-30%
Democratic Party-20%
Clysperi Reunion Party-15%

Muslim Man Swears In Aten’s temple, Chaos Ensues

A single swear word erupted into a full on brawl this morning, as Muslim man, Mohammed Mustafa (43), dropped his crate of yarn outside of the Temple of Aten in his home town of Akira.
Swearing, he stepped inside the temple briefly to collect his yarn, which had rolled inside, only to be greeted by the horrified faces of 60 worshippers.
Running for his life, the crowd chased him around the streets of Akira, before they caught up to him.
A brawl ensued with the worshippers battling the people on the street, who had no context except a crowd was chasing this man down.
Luckily the police quickly broke up the fight before anyone could be seriously injured or killed, with three men arrested for pulling out knives and Mohammed arrested for starting a fight.

Body Found in Djeor canyon.

Tourists hiking through Djeor canyon today got a terrible shock as they encountered a dead body. They alerted officials immediately and soon enough the police arrived. The body was pinned under a rally car, which had likely overturned and pinned him to the flaw. The cause of death was announced as lack of water, and carbon dating set him as dying on the 18th.
His body had been partially picked apart by vultures, and police think they may have started eating him when he was still alive. So far the body has not been identified, and police are looking for the family of the man.

VK, the newest thing

For years now, the people of Altromine have had to make do with basic text functions to stay in touch with their friends.

However, thanks to a social network service developed and released in Tamora, Altrominens will be able to stay in touch with groups and friends, whilst sharing pictures and videos.

VK, developed by Tamoran citizen Bazoor Vevalwala and Seleucid citizen Bavand Khandhy through KHELP has seen rapid growth in Tamora and other Midarayne nations.

It has strict policies regarding hate speech, fake news and public indecency, making its pages safe for all ages to view.
Its algorithims promote content to you that are relevant, and based off your interests.
You can easily keep in touch with friends, and see what they are doing through the friends feature.
It will even reccommend you new people with similar interests to talk with, allowing to grow your group of friends.
Thanks to the strict moderating of the site, offensive language, symbolism and advertisments are removed, allowing you to continue untroubled.
You can even arrange events with its events feature, allowing you to see and arrange meetings with your friends.
And if you are worried about the ethical issue to do with slavery, don't worry, VK does not use slavery.

There really is no excuse to not use it. Even Amarna Araanon, our very own High-Priest of Aten, has started to use the site, and it is expected that both Chancellor Hektor and Arch-Protector Araanon will start to use the site. The Church of Aten has already started to use VK to organise gatherings, with sermons being shown in the events feature.

Get VK now, for free.

Mines in mountains

During the time of Skirmish, in which we and Rodina traded light blows, General Araanon of the Altromine Military saw fit to lay thousands of land mines along the border with Rodina, which he hoped would, along with the mountains, keep Rodina out.

The problem with this tactic was that the land mines, unlike modern day minefields, were not marked and were not programmed to defuse after a certain amount of time had passed.

This, along with the dodgy nature of the mines, resulted in killing 164 civilians and 467 soldiers. This compared to the casualties caused by Rodinan soldiers (12 civilians and 109 soldiers) meant that our own side was better at killing ourselves than the enemy.

Even today, most of the mine fields remain unmarked and unplotted. Last week, a group of tourists were shocked when one acidentally stood on a buried mine. Thankfully, the stepper is not dead, however they have been hospitalised, with both legs missing and large damage to the chest, as well as severe burns.

This has lead the military of Altromine to begin the long over due process of disarming all the mines.

Due to the large quantity of minefields, and the risks associated with clearing them, this is expected to take several weeks.

Tourists and locals are advised to stay away from the mountains unless the military has cleared it.

Protest after RS-Altromine Trade Deal

Due to the unfourtunate timing of the RS-Altromine Deal, which was signed shortly before Pharaoh Akasha's scathing take down of King Heydar, the government has been critiqued for taking "a pro-RS stance". Despite the many benifits thats such a deal would bring to both nations, in addition to the first non-Altrominen Atenist temple which is due to begin construction shortly, it has had a less than positivie reception.

After Akasha's latest critique of Heydar, the public opinion towards Heydar, and thus RS, has soured. The Triarch released a statement condoning this logic, explaining that mutually aid between nations should not be hindered by opinion of public figures. In addition, the Temple of Aten condoned this too, citing similar reason.

Despite this, the tension boiled over yesterday, when a protest, protesting the RS-Altromine deal, had to be forcibly be put down forcibly after several bystanders were injured.

"The issue, is frankly, ridiculous." said the Arch-Protector in a recent statement, "This agreement will bring greater trade and, as such, better standard of living for the average Altrominen. I urge anyone who wants to follow yesterday's example to actually consider the matter before acting spontaneously."

Learning Parthian to be encouraged

Following several days of intense debate between the Educational Heads of the International Party, a plan has been created for the Parthian language to be empathised in Altrominen schools.

Currently, Parthian is the most spoken language in Midarayne, and fluency in it would put one at a greater advantage in the Midarayne free market. Depsite this, less than 15% of the adult population are able to speak it fluently.

This new plan makes it compulsory for school children to learn Parthian for the first 11 years of their education, with formal tests making sure they can speak, if not fluently, decently. Students who fail the test due to having broken or subpar Parthian skills will be forced to retake it next year, and will be required to complete the test before they can leave secondary education. Universities and independent teachers are required to reduce the cost of Parthian lessons down to an affordable amount, based on the wealth of the local area.

This plan is due to be approved by the Triarch within the end of the week, however will not be applied for another year. All estimates put the plan going through with no objections.
