The Cult of the Enlightenment

The Cult of the Enlightenment is a splinter branch of the Cult of Supremacy worshipped by Revana, which is in itself a splinter of the Cult of Namis in Achkaerin. The religion used to be the primary religion of the nation of Haven of Sovereignty before the civil war and reformation of Revana. The two Cults have historically been at odds with each other since the foundations of the religion, forming an endless cycle of one or the other being the dominant force in the center of the Azure Peninsula.

Origin Story

In the Time of Beginnings The God Ezotl created the world and all things in it, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, the animals on the land, eight legs, six legs, four legs and two he created them all from the waters of the world. Some time after the world was created The Great Other arrived in the world, where this one came from none could divine but come it did and though it was dark in nature the world cared not for The Great Other showed the people things that Ezotl didn't. The arrival of this One coincided with a moment of weakness on the part of the Creator for he was growing lonely.

There was a girl by the name of Vala, who devoutly worshiped Ezotl every day when the sunlight was at its newest and then again when it was at its highest before once more paying homage to her God as the sunlight died that day. The Great Other could see the affection that the Creator had for Vala and he went to Ezotl and said
"Look my friend there is one as lonely as you. Should she not know that her Lord appreciates her faith? For not all below show the same loyalty to you as she."
"You know we cannot intervene on the plane below directly." The Creator answered, for this was his greatest tenet- the created must choose its own path.
"Then show her not as a God but a man." The Great Other persisted "Should a God not have the right to experience all of life with those he created?"

And so Ezotl met Vala, there would be many more meetings as The Great Other had hoped for, because this presented the greatest opportunity for him to accomplish his own desires. For it is not easy to kill a God, yet when Ezotl walked the soil of Mundus the cloak of immortality did not go with him, The Great Other observed this and when the time was right, when the Creator went to meet Vala, the girl whom he had come to adore, he marked the Creator with a mark of great darkness. When the time for Ezotl to leave Vala came he found he could not assume his powers, he knew what must have happened. As the life energy left him Ezotl cursed the Great Other to no longer be able to walk or touch the World by his will alone.

With the death of Ezotl, the people of Mundus mourned the loss of their great Creator. One man however stepped forward and told the people of how Ezotl had died happy, tricked by the Other for his own happiness, for if it had not been fot the Great Other's intervention, then Ezotl would have continued his existence sad and lonely for all eternity. This may have seemed like a cruel trick, but it was actually a sign of how to live. Live in a way that brings you the most fulfilment, as Ezotl did. No matter how much power or responsibilities you may have, make sure that you are happy in life, or you may cause the world around you to be less bright.

The people rallied around this prophet, proclaiming him to be a messenger from the Great Other, sent to show them the way to everlasting light and happiness with Ezotl. Thus Scionis Ahkiy took up the mantle of Sin Incarnate, the first prophet of the Great Other, and began creating his great empire across the Azure Peninsula, guiding people to the bright light of freedom, where no man need be questioned for the reasons why he sought happiness.

When the self proclaimed children of Ezotl arrived years later and threw down mighty Ahkiy, the worshippers of the Enlightenment fled into the woods and vowed that one day they would take back what was rightfully theirs and return the light of the Great Other to Mundus.

Fort Seraph

Fort Seraph is a large ancient fort built in an isolated region of the Revanan Mountains, the range of Mountains that bisects Revana. The Fort was built by the Sitrican Empire to hold against Kaifa Aevumih and his Achkaerinese army and has slowly eroded away from numerous battles and years of the elements.

During the War of the Enlightenment, it was inhabited by Alexandria Savage and her Army. The fort contained around 10,000 Enlightened troops in and around the fort with more arriving everyday as Alexandria prepared for her great invasion on Revana.

In the years since the war, the castle has remained abandoned, buried under an aftershock avalanche after the Justicar raid on the castle to rescue Prince Isaac, Princess Serenity, and their newborn Astrid, during which  Alexandria was coerced out of her troubled state by Rion Ayanami and brought back as a 4th unexpected rescue.
