MOST DATA OUT OF DATE OR IRRELEVANT

Coanchua is a country with varied and diverse origins, with a mixed, loose identity. Historically, the country was colorful and still is, but increasing prosperous interconnectivity and population booms have led to cultural assimilation and growth; blending colorful and flourishing customs, people, languages and religions into new demographics that are in their infancy today.

Race and Ethnicity
The dominant ethnicity in Coanchua is a loosely defined group known as Koingia, meaning One People, composed of racially mixed people who have a myriad of Asiatic, Andean and Coft Aranyean ancestry; deriving from the Horn of Ardia,  Ardian Peninsula, and Southern Coft Aranye. Most Coanchuans appear different from eachother and reflect different traits, however the average appearance is a brown to bronze skin complexion, straight to curly hair and dominant mixed asiatic/cross-sea/afro-ardian facial features, all have Andean ancestry one way or the other. There is abundant common Ipo and Maori traits in most Coanchuans.

Koingia is a direct evolution from the Kaiop groups that derived from Cross-Seas Kaiop Pirates. Who also spoke an informal creole dialect. As the pirates had a dominant asiatic origin but merged over time with whoever they took on. The classification of Koingia shortly arose as a loose term when the Kaiop’s merged with the many slave descendants not entirely native to the Andean Peninsula.

A Crop of Coanchuans

Minorities, such as Himeyamans, Rokkenjimans and Vesians are groups as Asiatic and Maori, Ipo, are native. Afro-Ardian is among these groups with varied origins.

Extreme integration into Koingia was mostly fueled by years following up to the Great War and afterward, occurring with the following population booms. Increasing nationwide urbanization was perhaps the biggest factor, different root Coanchuan cultures came into frequent contact with eachother. Racial and Ethnic minorities are mainly due to the recent migration and isolation in the form of (mostly) religious devotion, rural traditions or previous racial conflict.

Many rural Asiatic, native and Afro groups exist in the countryside, retaining their traditional customs, religions and languages with adaptations from mainstream society.

Language
Koingishi is a mixed language with origins from Himeyaman, Vesian Latin and the native Ipishi and Maori. There is a vast set of dialectal inflections that are completely foreign in the context of Koingishi’s root influences, due to Coanchuan diaspora. Therefore the dialects of Koingishi use a creole of loan words and different pronunciation that are many times indiscernible to their pure root languages. Much of Koingishi also derives from illiterate interpretations of it’s root language, making it sound, even in it’s most elegant and educated form, uneducated or rough to the unknowing listener. The informality and undefined rules of Koingishi also makes it flow between the various dialects and languages of Coanchua.

Usually, this accent is referred to as ‘Kaiopi’ as it’s origins can be traced to the Kaiop pirate groups.

Minority languages have evolved their own Coanchuan flavor, taking on different dialects. The most pure languages, which also influenced Koingishi the most, is the native Ipishi and Maori languages which are protected by the government in their utmost form.

Religion
Coanchua is generally irreligious, with most people practicing loose traditions relating to absorbing emigrated religious customs into mainstream Coanchuan society. Koruyorism is the most practiced belief system in Coanchua, usually syncretized with outside religions. In Coanchua there exist syncretized subgroups of Christians, Muslims, Shinshin believers, Ohkantuyi, Helusites and Rosari. There is no official census on religion, as the state doesn’t recognize or care for it’s prevalence, however it’s estimated that at least 55% of the population is irreligious in some aspect while holding Koruyor beliefs.

Historically, Koruyor is a combination of native Ipo beliefs and those that have augmented from the unique codes held by the Kaiop, which derive from rogue Toshikawan caste of ronin who had migrated with Shinshin and Vesian migrants from eastern Ardia.

There is a variety of minor religious practitioners who do not adhere to the tenants of Koruyorism and instead hold singular Christian, Muslim, Shinshin, Helusite, etc beliefs. However there are considered a super minority in comparison.
