Revocation of Achkaerin's Peacekeeping Role

The Republic of Lakhzovia is currently undertaking direct military action in the Transmecuria region of our country following confirmation of the use of the nerve agent sarin in a barbaric attack on Lakhzov civilians by Utman separatist forces.

This situation was only able to occur due to a campaign, spearheaded by Achkaerin, to bind the hands of our nation on the pretext of protecting civilians from a supposed threat of "genocide" at our hands. Despite our assurances that our actions were aimed solely at preserving peace and guaranteeing the safety of all who inhabit the territory we were accused, without any supporting evidence, of planning to commit a crime against humanity.

Tragically events have vindicated our government and while it is now too late for the residents of Tamsdin we have resolved that no further deaths of innocent Lakhzov should be allowed to occur at the hands of the Khaliniz Brigades. We are now engaged in an entirely legal, justified war against a terrorist group that has declared open, genocidal war on our people.

The Peacekeeping Mission has failed, Achkaerin's legacy in our land is of having been an enabler of crimes against humanity. We no longer consider Achkaerin to be a reliable partner for peace, nor do we consider Achkaerin to be a nation who's intentions we trust.

We therefore terminate, effective immediately, Achkaerin's peacekeeping mission. Achkaerin's troops will remain in Somerset and will not enter Lakhzov territory. We are exercising our sovereign right to deny Achkaerin any sort of military access to our country, territorial waters or airspace.

Any violation of Lakhzovia's territorial integrity will be considered an hostile act of war and responded to accordingly.

As officer commanding the Achkaerinese forces I completely and utterly refute the suggestions of the Lakhzovian Government that we have enabled Crimes against Humanity to occur, the fact is that throughout this endeavour both before deployment and during the deployment the number one priority has been the preservation of civilian life, in fact at the present moment Achkaerinese forces are engaged in fighting Khaliniz Brigade militia in the mountains of the Lakhzovian-Somerset border in an attempt to create a safe corridor for refugee's to flee through so that a massacre perpetrated by the Khaliniz Brigades does not take place. We do not dispute the use of Lakhzovian force or the air strikes carried out by East Moreland and Cenneg forces in fact we believe those actions justified.

We have been asked to leave and subsequently we will leave, I therefore make known that the withdrawal of Achkaerinese forces to Somerset will be ordered. The withdrawal will be carried out over the next 24 hours following which Achkaerinese forces will observe the situation and act according to the situation as it develops and do the humanitarian work that needs to be done. However Lakhzovia is reminded that Achkaerinese forces have the right to defend themselves if attacked, so if we are attacked by the Khaliniz Brigades across the border we will respond with force. I also make known that Lakhzovia interference with this withdrawal will not be tolerated if it endangers the reasonable safety of Achkaerinese troops.

Statement on Hand of Emet Attacks

The Office of the President of Lakhzovia and the Government of the Lakhzov Republic feels pressed to express our deep distress at the recent attacks carried out by the Hand of Emet militia on unarmed Utman civilian targets within the Transmecuria province.

While the exact numbers of fatalities cannot yet be known, what is known is that two displaced persons camps have been attacked with what is suspected to be sarin gas resulting in mass casualties. Further attacks on unarmed civilians have been occurring in those villages and regions that the militia remains embedded in.

This government has always been clear that our enemy are those who through terror seek to destabilise and fragment our nation. The actions of the Hand of Emet go far beyond any reasonable definition of 'defence' as they have until now claimed to be acting upon. The Hand of Emet has been declared a terrorist organisation by this government; we therefore call upon them to surrender and disarm immediately.

Failing this the Lakhzov Defence Forces will be working in tandem with our allies Rokkenjima and with the Achkaerinese in order to swiftly bring an end to the violence.

Statement Regarding Extraditions to Unified Iwi

The government of Lakhzovia has been closely following the events in the Unified Iwi. As victims of a brutal occupation and the tyranny of ethnic government ourselves we fully sympathise with the people of Iwi and understand the natural desire for justice.

We are also aware that the legal system of Unified Iwi allows for a uniquely 'creative' system of 'justice' which has seen those convicted be subjected to excessive, cruel and unusual methods of execution; sometimes delivered at the hand of the head of state himself.

Further concerns have been raised in relation to the ability of those accused of historical Seleucid war crimes to receive a fair trial.

As such Lakhzovia feels that the judicial conduct of the United Iwi does not meet the basic criteria to be considered natural justice, rather it is our assessment that those extradited to the Iwi are at a high risk of being subjected to biased proceedings and inhumane execution.

As such the Lakhzov Republic has made a decision to cease any and all extraditions to the Unified Iwi until such a time as we are satisfied that the Iwi's judicial system has been sufficiently reformed to ensure that justice is delivered impartially and without excessive cruelty.

Confirmation of Sanctions on Tamora

The Lakhzov Republic has watched in horror as the Tamoran state continues to shamelessly engage in the systemic and institutional practice of slavery.

This practice, which violates all codes of human decency, respect for the dignity of the individual and the basic right to freedom cannot be tolerated by any civilised nation.

We are further concerned at the increasing tensions between Tamora and Slava Lavosk, with the Tamorans aiding the insurgency in the Medak Pocket. This violation of the national sovereignty of their neighbours as well as the attempt to export their appalling slave society into the area cannot go unchallenged.

As such the Lakhzov Republic hereby severs all and any relations with Tamora, will refuse the import of Tamoran goods, or the export of Lakhzov goods to Tamora and will seize any Tamoran assets currently residing within Lakhzov jurisdiction.

Amnesty Granted to Democratic Alliance

The Government of Lakhzovia after deliberation has decided to grant amnesty to any member of the Democratic Alliance Party arrested for their participation in the public disorder following the last election.

All charges against such activists will be withdrawn and restrictions on movement lifted.

This amnesty extends also to the organisers of the disorder, including Argan Tsagarai for whom the international arrest warrant has been rescinded. We invite Mr Tsagarai to return to Lakhzovia under guarantee of his complete freedom.

Statement on the Terrorist Attacks in Tytor

Lakhzovia wishes to extend our support and solidarity to the people of Tytor who are as we speak coming to terms with the outrageous series of terrorist atrocities carried out against them on their home soil.

Our Republic knows well the horrors of terrorism directed against our people by immoral groups seeking to destabilise the country.

It is vitally important that terrorism never be allowed to be perceived as a successful or legitimate means of obtaining desired goals.

As such Lakhzovia wishes to offer Tytor any services or aid material or logistical, it may require in dealing with the current situation.

Review of Sanctions on Tamora

The Government of Lakhzov Republic has recently received a petition from a prominent civil society group with our country requesting that we review our policy regarding the sanctions on Tamora.

These sanctions were first enacted due to our concerns at certain cultural institutions within Tamora that we felt did not align with the Emetist values we hold as a nation. The petition however was made on the basis of desiring to establish a mechanism by which the Emetist value of Khesed may be extended and in such a way as to allow our nation to be an active force for good, addressing the institution that trouble us without making us participants in it, and allowing us to prevent indentured servitude in the future without leading an assault on Tamoran cultural and religious sensibilities.

For this reason we have agreed to initiate a review of the current sanctions regime, as a part of which we will be inviting Tamora to send a representative to engage in a discussion about the proposed Benevolent Fund and determine if such a scheme would be feasible as a part of a relaxation of sanctions.

General Amnesty Announced

The Government of Lakhzovia wishes to announce a general amnesty to be extended to those Lakhzov citizens currently residing abroad due to their participation in the events immediately prior to, and during the civil war.

The state guarantees that there will be no legal action taken against political leaders, or public figures who have previously been listed as 'wanted' for their involvement in the incitement leading up to the outbreak of the conflict. This includes both former leader of the Utman Liberation Organisation Racip Uttaman and former Democratic Alliance Leader Argan Tsagarai.

The government encourages all those eligible for the amnesty to contact a Lakhzov consulate in order to arrange their Amnesty Papers and repatriation to the Lakhzov Republic.
