« on: September 25, 2018, 08:53:33 PM »
The Brotherhood of Tamora (BoT)

The Brotherhood of Tamora is a Manist religious organization founded in the XIV century. The focus of the Brotherhood of Tamora is to advance religious knowledge and help defend Tamora.

Membership requirements: must be a man, a highly practicing Manist and unmarried. Usually, the organization invites people to join but it is also open to application. Once a member of the organization, one is expected to be a role model Manist, remain celibate for the duration of the pledge (five years and can be renewed without limit) and help advance the goals of the organization. Outside their field of knowledge which can range from psychology to piloting planes, members are expected to promote religion among the population. Some members choose to do public speaking, other to preach in the street, some do charity, other write fiction novels (heavily infused with religion etc

Members: around six thousand, organized in six branches( one for each kingdom of Tamora). Members have many professions but most are: psychiatrists, air force pilots and preachers. One average members spend ten years in BoT, very few remain members for life.

Assets: despite its relatively long history, the organization is not particularly rich in assets. It owns a few buildings in each Tamoran kingdom. Members do not receive an allowance from the organization.
Notable work and achievements:  works on neurotheology, several very popular (in Tamora) fiction novels were written by BoT members.

Reputation in Tamora: BoT members are highly respected in society and a few of them are public figures and experts in their fields.

The Church of Mani
« Reply #1 on: March 03, 2019, 11:36:28 AM »
The Church of Mani

Tracing its roots in the Xth century AD when the founder of Church first preached, the organization has grown to over 133 million members and spans several continents. However, despite its international presence, almost 90% of its adherents are located within the Empire of Tamora. It is also in the Tamoran Empire where the organization exerts considerable influence over the cultural, political and social life of the country. Known internationally for sanctioning chattel slavery since its foundation till the present day, the organization also has ultra conservative stances over a range of social issues ranging from women’s rights to how a society should function.

The organization as a whole is comprised of around 40 thousand parishes, each lead by an imam. These parishes function independently and associate themselves in various local and regional associations. The most important associations are the national ones which include among other: one of each kingdom of Tamora (six in total), Zimalia (MAZ), Royal Seleucid (MARS), Quintelia (MAQ), Slava Lavosk (MAS), Socram, (MASS) and Pardclinnia (MAP). Each of these organizations is led by a Major Ayatollah which is elected by the Ayatollahs that are part of the national association. The Major Ayatollah elected by the first kingdom of Tamora (aka Imperial Enclave) carries the title of Supreme Ayatollah and is the leader of the Church, the Major Ayatollahs of the other Tamoran kingdoms are known as Grand Ayatollahs. All six for, the Supreme Council of Djerb, the ruling council of the Church.

When taken as a whole, the Church is by far the richest organization in the Empire of Tamora owning among other: approx. 15% of the arable land in the country, 10% of the oil and gas reserves, hundreds of thousands of buildings (with many of them being historical landmarks), ten million slaves (more than a quarter of the entire slave population in Tamora) . The organization mandates that its adherents contribute 10% of their income to their local parish and that is a major source of income for the Church. Furthermore, large donations by rich individuals are also common and add to the income and assets of the church.  The organization also exerts considerable influence in Tamora through its thousands of fully owned and operated schools, universities, clinics, hospitals and media trusts.

Prophet Mani of Tamora, the founder of the religion and the most important figure in the history of the Church. The Church also acknowledges Mohamed and Jesus of as minor Prophets.

The Book of Mani, the central religious text in the Church of Mani. The Quran and the Bible are also considered but nowhere near the extent and reverence of the Book of Mani.

Alya Safavid, Mother of the Nation, the second most important figure in the history of the Church. Her cult is extremely popular among Manist women.

The Supreme Ayatollah of Tamora, the current leader of the Church.

Mausoleum of Alya Safavid, Mother of the Nation- The most important religious site for Manist believers (the burial site of the Prophet Mani is unknown). [i/]

Djerb- the capital of Tamora is also the heart of the Church. It is the seat of the Supreme Ayatollah and it is here where the Prophet Mani has preached and wrote what later will be described as the Book of Mani.

The Tamoran Cultural Center (TCC)
« Reply #2 on: March 12, 2019, 08:35:23 PM »
The Tamoran Cultural Center (TCC)

The TCC is a NGO specialized in promoting the Tamoran culture abroad. TCC is a recently founded organization and is part of a wider Tamoran effort to counter what many in Tamora perceive as a bias against the values shared by Tamorans. While some have criticized the institution for its alleged attempts to whitewash Tamora’s institution of slavery, TCC has repeatedly denied it is focused on that particular institution and instead have said its goals are to promote a deeper understanding of Tamoran culture.

Among the many activities that the TCC engages are:

-   Free Parthian (occ: the main language of Tamora) languages lessons.
-   Translations in the local language of various Tamoran writers ranging from classic to contemporary Sci-Fi writers. TCC usually offers its services as translators for free to various local publishing houses.
-   Free screenings of Tamoran movies.
-   Art expositions relating to Tamora, its emigrant community or its main religions.
-   Free copies of the Book of Mani and the Quran.
-   Hosts charities events with the earnings going to the local Manist/Tamoran community.
-   Funds and seeks to publish dissident opinions relating to various political and religious established norms and institutions. While the TCC claims this is done out of respect for freedom of religion, critics have argued that TCC seeks to promote dissent among various religions and political movements.
-   Free scholarships to Tamoran universities. TCC have publicly stated that it seeks to counter the brain-drain Tamora is experiencing by attracting foreign talent from aboard.

So far the TCC has branches only in Zimalia but rumors are that it plans to extend to other developing nations.

Tamoran Wealth Funds Association (TWFA)
« Reply #3 on: March 31, 2019, 07:50:44 AM »
Tamoran Wealth Funds Association (TWFA)

The Tamoran Wealth Funds Association(TWFA) is a collection of sovereign wealth funds from the various regions of Tamora. While the largest 6 funds are the ones corresponding to each of the kingdoms of Tamora, some regional governments also have their own wealth funds that are part of the association.

History: the beginning of the association goes back to the 1940s when the imperial (federal) government of Tamora started accumulating large reserves because of very prudent fiscal policy that made the government to almost always have a budgetary surplus. While fiscal surpluses in other Mundus countries are usually a consequence of what is seen as a responsible government, in Tamora, because the law allows for debt enslavement as a result of bankruptcy, deficits as not seen just as irresponsible but could have serious consequence for the government officials who took on the debt. It is for this reasons that governments (from local to imperial) in Tamora tend to avoid deficits and almost never take debt.

While various funds were created to manage the money government set aside for rainy days, the system was still in its infancy and could hardly be described as a wealth fund by the end of the 1940s.
The Tamoran annexation of Attica 1958, perhaps unexpectedly, was the catalyst for a major restructuring and reform of Tamoran wealth funds. At the time of annexation, Attica already had its own wealth fund with investments both domestic and abroad. In the years following the annexation, the Tamoran government and many regional jurisdictions adopted legislation that tried to imitate the Attican model of wealth management.

Diversity of investment policies: While the association has a leader, each fund has its own agenda (set by its founding government) and its own priorities. The component members of the association vary greatly not only in size, from hundreds of million dinars(USD) in assets to hundreds of billion in case of the fund owned by the Imperial government but it also varies a lot in its mission and agenda which depend greatly on the official religion of the government that owns the fund. While some funds allow for interest to be charged and have no problem associating with banks that charge interest, others shun completely anything related with interest, some invest just in the region where its government operates while other invest all over Tamora. However, no fund invests aboard since the risk of assets seizures is too great.

TWFA at a glance:
Assets: 750 bln dinars (USD).
Member funds: 32
Average yield: 2% per year
Share of assets by member funds: 35% Imperial Fund, 17% Attican Fund, 16% West Seleucid Fund, 9% Altai Royal Fund, 7% Akkar Royal Fund, 3 % Djerb County Fund, 2% Vojvodina Royal Fund,11% - 25 other member funds.
Particularities: unlike most other sovereign funds, TWFA does not invest abroad and does not own any stock. It invests in infrastructure, energy production, mining, agriculture, forestry, shipbuilding, fishing etc.

The HQ of TWFA is in Djerb but each member fund has its own separate HQ.

Karun 3 dam, located in the kingdom of Altai,  was one of the many projects funded by TWFA.

Karun 3 bridge, also funded by TWFA, is one of the largest bridges in the Empire.

One of the many oil tankers funded by TWFA. The fund was instrumental building Tamora’s commercial fleet.

True to its mission, some of the spending made by TWFA is not meant to bring a return on investment. Last year TWFA funded the construction of the largest pedestrian bridge in the Empire. Located in Djerb it is meant to celebrate 60 years since the Kingdom of Attica was annexed by the Empire.

Tamora Imperial Bank (TIB)
« Reply #4 on: April 28, 2020, 05:29:15 PM »
Tamora Imperial Bank (TIB)

The HQ of the bank is the Wali (ooc:saint) Kavad Temple complex in Djerb

Tamora Imperial Bank is the largest Tamoran bank with assets of 250 billion dinars (usd), serving more than 70 million customers in Tamora and almost 3 million aboard: in Phuebra, Clysperis, Safraen and Zimalia. It was founded in the early XVIII (18) th century as a separate entity from the treasury of the Church of Mani. The first few decades TIB grew fast as the bank was used by more and more Tamorans as a mean to pay their tithe (a religious obligation to give 10% of the income) to the Church of Mani. To this day the bank remains solely owned by the Church of Mani and adheres strictly to sharia requirements by not practicing usury (charging interest) and not working with any businesses contrary to the tenets of the Church (like alcohol production, gambling etc).

The bank focuses on retail, agriculture and small business and has a network of over 15,000 branches with two thirds of them in rural areas. The Bank is present in all Tamoran kingdoms and it has recently expanded aboard by acquiring Orl Bank in Safraen which has a market share of 4.5% there, Nafu Bank in Clysperis which has a market share of 8.5%, Liberville Bank in Phuebra which has a market share of 8% and has opened a branch in Zimalia. The bank has incorporated a subsidiary in Elysium (Heyra).

Since 2020 the TIB has opened a Development Division following a 2 billion dinars(usd) grant from the Tamoran imperial government and has disbursed almost 90% through various loans and grants in Clysperis.

History, major landmarks and trivia:

- Since its founding the bank has a virtual monopoly on the paying of the tithe by Manist faithful. While there is no law that forbids the faithful to use another bank, the Church strongly encourages its members to use TIB for the paying of the tithe.
- The bank was instrumental in financing the imperial government in difficult times including the military campaign to annex the kingdom of Vojvodina (1898) and in the aftermath of the annexation of Attica in 1958 when the imperial government had serious trouble in financing its obligations because of the international sanctions placed on it. With the growth of the Tamoran Wealth Funds since the 1960s the bank’s role in financing the imperial government in times of trouble has been greatly reduced in recent decades.
- While until recently the bank has been reluctant to extend its presence outside the Empire, it has nevertheless played a role in the region. In the 19th century TIB was among the banks (although it played a minor role) in financing the Seleucid overseas slave trade.
- All heads of the bank (ooc: CEO) since the founding to present day have been practicing Manists.
- All but two heads of the bank (ooc: CEO) have been men. The exceptions were Farah (1858-1862) the First wife of the Supreme Ayatollah at the time and Aludra (1924-1934) the First Wife of the Emperor at the time.
- The bank had 30 heads (ooc: CEO) in its 300 year history, of them 10 were imams and two were Ayatollahs.
- Of its workforce of 105,000 people, approx. 30,000 are slaves, mostly janitors and some low level bank clerks.
- TIB is one of only a couple of Tamoran banks to have its HQ in a Temple complex.

VK - Tamora's social network platform
« Reply #6 on: January 03, 2021, 04:28:58 PM »
VK - (Vevalwala & Khandhy )

VK is a social network platform founded in by Tamoran citizen Bazoor Vevalwala and Seleucid citizen Bavand Khandhy in 2019 through King Heydar Enterprise Link Platform (KHELP). Since its foundation the VK has seen rapid growth in Tamora and by the end of 2020 it became the number one social netwrok platfom in Tamora.  VK has a strict moderation policy, censoring comments and articles critical of the Church of Mani ( the native religion of Tamora), the Tamoran government and activities that are contrary to Islamic and Manist teaching (alcohol, drugs, immodest dressing etc). According to the company's policy such censorship falls under public decency provisions, anti hate speech and anti fake news. VK is looking to expand aboard in MidAranye countries, developing countries and countries with significant Manist and/or Islamic communities.

Some of the staff working at VK's Head office located in Djerb, Empire of Tamora

VK at a glance:

Founded: 2019
Owners: 50% Bazoor Vevalwala and 50% Bavand Khandhy
Headquarters: Djerb, imperial capital of Tamora
Assets: 1.05 bln dinars (USD)
Workforce: 400 (does not use slave labour) in Tamora,
Operating income: 190 million dinars (usd)
Market share: 51% in Tamora and 100 million active accounts.

History, major landmarks and trivia:

- Bazoor Vevalwala, the Tamoran cofounder of VK, is married to Clysperi national Abisha. They are both practing Manists. Bazoor Vevalwala is considered to be the most succesful Tamoran in the country's relatively modest IT sector.

- Bavand Khandhy, a Seleucid citizen, is the other cofounder of VK. He is not married, his main residence is technically in Ipsus( Royal Selucid) but spends most of his time in Djerb. He has not talked publicly about his faith, it is assumed he is an Anahitaist (the native religion of Royal Seleucid).

- The network has a partnership with the Church of Mani allowing the very influent religious organization a heavy say in the company's anti hate speech and decency policies.
- In 2020 the network was endorsed by the Church of Mani which fueled its rapid growth in Tamora.
- Through its algorithm the network promotes religious news (especially Manist and Islamic), positive news about MidAranye in general and Tamora in particular.
- The company does not accept advertisement relating to alcoholic drinks.
- While the company has never explained why, it does not use slave labor despite it being based in Tamora.

- The platform heavily promotes attendance to religious service to youth.
