KOMISARIATO PRI EKSTERLANDAJ AFEROJ
DE LA POPOLA RESPUBLIKO DE ARGEMONTO

EKSTERLANDO

Greetings,

Our nation would be delighted to host the most honorable Monsieur Debeauson in our capital. I suppose a tour around the city, visiting the historically relevant sights followed by an official meeting in the Red Tower with other officials of the State Council would be fitting? For the evening I recommend a visit of the state orchestra. This season they are performing music by Geroldo, a classic Argemontese composer of the 19th century who also happened to be a fervent advocate of republicanism during the brief period of Argemontese monarchy.

We hope for a soon arrival of the honorable Gentleman and for productive and friendly interaction between both of our nations.

Sincerely,

Julia Delgato
Commissar of Foreign Affairs

Delgato had been looking forward to the visit of the fleuroix director. It was not often that her nation was treated with such seemingly sincere diplomatic interest. Especially not from capitalist nations.
She watched the welcoming protocol of the Fleuroix ambassador and when they had finished approached the Director.

"Bienvenue a la Montagne d'Argent! I hope that was right. Please follow me." she said shaking Debeauson's hand

Once they arrived at the Argemontese music corps, first the fleuroix anthem was played then the argemontese one, during which Delgato formed a fist and rose it as a salute. After that both officials continued to walk on the red carpet to the sound of the Argemontese presentation march and entered their cars to leave the airport.

Delgato and Debeauson met again inside the city of Rugaturo.

"Again welcome in Argemonto. We are all very happy to have you here. I'll now be showing you around Rugaturo. Sadly the press and Mrs. Benno await us in an hour at the Red Tower so we will only have limited time. While Rugaturo is only the political and not the cultural capital of Argemonto the city has still much to offer"

Delgato lead Debauson around the street accompanied by some security. The two rarely encountered small groups of people who did not show much interest for them.

"You have to know, Rugaturo is a planned city. It was constructed with the intention to make it the center of political and economic decisions. Around 65% of its inhabitants are officials, most others are working for the press. We are currently in an area which might already be known to you: the ambassador quarter. I think we cannot quite see from here but somewhere down this road your nation has its embassy I believe. Anyway, shall e continue?"

The cars proceeded to drive futher into the city. The image of the city changed. While all buildings in the ambassador square had looked architecturally plus but still modest, housing only maybe a few dozens of officials
These office buildings were colossal. The cars stopped before an especially big building, almost a skyscraper with a big sign saying "KOROMED". Nervous-looking people wearing suits scurry through the streets everywhere.

"As you might have noticed we are now in the economy quarter, perhaps the biggest quarter of Rugaturo. All state owned companies have their center of operations here. We are currently standing in front of KOROMED the state owned company for the production of pharmaceuticals. The building has recently been renovated and looks quite impressive I think. Over there we have the base of operations of Stanutrakav Argemonto's company for agricultural goods" Delgato clears her throat "Might need a new coat of paint doesn't it" she says smiling "Now lets continue"

The cars proceed to leave area. The environment changes again. Opulent modern buildings give way to seemingly historical ones which have been tastefully renovated. The cars stop at an avenue lined with statues.

"We are now finally in the heart of Rugaturo. Over there" -she points at the end of the avenue- "we have the Red Tower. Seat of the government of Argemonto. Before the revolution the building was a church named Sankta Arnoldo. It was surrounded by a trader town of the same name. Since our great revolution started here with the bombardment of the church in which Argemonto's king hid the later socialist administration chose to build the capital around it. The remains of the church were rebuilt as a monument of socialism and as our government building"

Delgato pulled out a silver pocket watch, looked at it and rose an eyebrow.

"Time's fleeting, maybe we should walk the avenue. Look over there, the honor guard is already waiting"

On each side of the avenue there are statues of famous socialist and communist leaders and thinkers, some Argemontese some not. Once Delgato and Debeauson arrived at the Red Tower the press started shooting photos. Director Franziska Benno approached the two officials and greets them"

"Saluton Sinjorina Delgato! Bonjour Monsieur! Let's not loose time, please follow me into my office."

They go straight through a corridor. The walls are decorated with red banners and Argemontese flags. All three sit down in Benno's office along with her entourage of government officials.

The office of Director Benno is a simple yet elegant room. On one wall there is a big painting of a mountainous landscape. Another wall is decorated with portraits of former Presidents and Directors. However one portrait doesn't quite fit in. It's clearly a portrait of a monarch in a triumphant pose. The doors to the office are now closed behind the guests by two guards in dark red coats.

"Please sit down, a little refreshment perhaps?"

She goes to a small table in the corner of the office, grabs a bottle and two glasses. As she returns to her desk, she opens the bottle and fills up four glasses. The bottles label is simplistic. A dark red label with golden letter saying "Likvaoro"

"Now what exactly does the great nation of Fleur have to offer, or rather what do we have to offer them?" She leans foward a bit on her chair "We are not usually approached by other nations in such a friendly manner I have to say. Please, tell us what you have in mind!" she says smilingly and puts off her glasses.

"We would be most interested in cultural interchange. In the educational sector however we have to be careful. To ensure an equal level of education schools are completely operated by the state. However perhaps you would be interested in funding the first Argemontese institute for fleuroix language and culture? Maybe then in 30 years the State Council's Director will even be able to communicate with you in your own language!

In addition our ministry of education and culture, since it just got its finds increased, could organise exchange programs and possibly even school trips to Fleur. Students would surely profit from such activities. We Argemontese do not leave our nation often and quite frankly I think it is a pity. Of course fleuroix students would also be warmly welcomed in Argemonto.

Now let's go on to military and economic affairs. I hope to not disappoint you but at the moment we are not interested in buying or selling any weapons, neither are we interested in military pacts or alliances. Our
interest in economic affairs and trade however depends on what you nation has to offer. I hope you understand that since our economy is mostly planned we have to protect our market vigorously. Therefore trade deals are signed on a case by case basis by a dedicated ministry.

I happily accept your offer to help with the damages in Proksi Cevalo. Once the case is closed and the repairs can start we will come back to your offer."

"Now-"she takes a sip from her glass, leans forward a bit and slightly squints her eyes "-what do you mean by solving electricity supply permanently?"

"I'm pretty sure the coalition would agree to offer Fleuroix students a stay in Argemonto. It's the import of nuclear power plants that could be more problematic but I'm confident we will convinve the Reform Party of this great project" she said smilingly.

"Now that we have everything settled. One last thing before we move to setting up a treaty. How do you think we should handle the situation in Hassfurt. I'm sure Fleur has also realized that their system is extremely problematic and could use an intervention of some sort.  My government will start inviting Hassfurtians as refugees soon. Maybe if we could start a joint effort, the results will be even better?"

"As long as these dedicated schools are run and operated by the state and follow the national curriculum for the most part I see no reason to decline. I also agree to the projects mentioned to further improve the bilateral understanding and relationship of our nations."

Benno smiled, seemingly delighted by the idea of cooperation between Fleur and Argemonto concerning the Hassfurtian matter. Hassfurt had long been a thorn in the side of socialist Argemonto. The display of such extreme racism and classism had always disgusted Benno and many others in Argemonto alike.
"My government and I would be really thankful for your support in this matter. Indeed I think a joint statement might send the right message"
