A Divine Redemption (Neu Uburzis and ES)
« on: February 28, 2018, 04:59:08 PM »

The Ecclesiastical State

To Prince Albrecht of Neu Uburzis,

It has come to my attention that the relations between the Empire and the Ecclesiastical State aren't on the best terms of terms, which is something that I don't wish to leave behind in terms of my legacy whenever the Lord requires my presence in the Heavenly Kingdom...hopefully. In any case I do hope that the people of Neu Uburzis believe in giving individuals another chance to better himself and show the actual character behind all of that negative facade, which is certainly in my case and thus portrays the unfortunate dark light. Either here in or in your realm we shall have a fruitful and beneficial discussion that will only further both nations' well-being.

Take Care and God Bless, Sincerely

Pope Peter II of the Celestian Catholic Church and King-Bishop of the Ecclesiastical State

"For a man claiming to wish to redeem himself, he talks an awful lot only about how the perception is wrong and not one word about apologizing."  Albrecht leaned back in his office looking down at the city below.
"We can't say no either, so just bear with his boasting self pity talk for a little." Robert of Niameck said, warming himself on the fireplace: "I really enjoy how you decided to pick a room with a fireplace. it's much more cozy than the radiator rooms."
"I know, i just need to make sure Orion is at School when this guy is around, i don#t want to risk him destroying all the progress he made." Albrecht sighed, scribbling on a letter, while Robert nodded: "Make sure he becomes a strong Emperor, he depends on you."

To Pope Peter the Second,

gaining back lost Trust and respect is a long Journey, and why we are willing to listen to reason, we will for now wait and see what this future meeting will bring. We will arrange a meeting here, and will host you with appropriate accommodations.

Prince Albrecht of Uburzis, Regent to Emperor Orion the first of Uburzis.

"Well I would say it's a known fact my dear cardinal colleagues...the high leadership of the Neu Uburzians, or even the common folk for that matter...all hate me in one way or the other. Whether this was a good idea to suggest having a diplomatic gathering or not...that we shall see indeed." His holiness Pope Peter II a.k.a 'The Young Weasel Pope' was on his way to the above-mentioned nation, using the specially designed papal plane for such an endeavor. TYWP naturally felt a bit nervous considering everyone on both sides knew that ES and NU weren't exactly on the best of terms due to a few yet distinguishable reasons. Still, he considered that these grudges held against him were quite frankly out of proportion and silly compared to other nations who had a more willing heart to forgive and forget...but no time to grubble over that, the most important thing was to cast a new light and drive away the shadow so to say.

Appearing from the white clouds, the plane finally made a touch down on the runway and taxied its way to the international terminal where the Neu Uburzians were supposed to greet and meet him from the start, according to the detailed instructions which were sent some time ago prior to the meeting taking place. The door to the plane was opened and alongside a group of Guardians of St. Peter's Throne, made his way to the hosts. "Pope Peter II, an honor and pleasure to finally meet you in person...properly this time I hope hehe. I come with many gifts, including my most sincere apology to anyone here that I may have caused nothing but misery and pain, as well as a hopefully, full redemption."

"Wouldn't have a smaller plane have done as well?" Robert sighed as he stood at the runway, watching the Pope Land, while Albrecht shrugged: "You said we had to ask him to come."

The pope was reroute directly to a smaller Airship, where Albrecht and Robert waited outside:

"We thought we'd make it a little Scenic. Flying over the City. Don't worry, we have adequate Snacks for a State visit on Board." Albrecht said as the Pope was brought to them, nodding slightly: "I hope the flight here was calm, Pope Peter the second." Albrecht said, while waiting for the Man to Board the smaller Airship: "Gladly the weather played along, this  Sightseeing Vessel isn't made to Fly in Storms. We got an Imperial Flight attendant on Board, so no Worries there."

"I thank thee my honorable hosts for hosting this opportunity, it shall be a delightful ride..." With the last of the Papal envoy entering the airship, slowly but surely it lifted from the ground and made its heavenly way up to the bare skies filled with the shining rays of the sun, a beautiful day indeed for such endeavors to take place, which is what the Pope felt as he looked down from above, truly spectacular. He closed his eyes and meditated for a moment, sorta, after all it was just trying to feel relaxed after days of everlasting prayer and hardwork in the Ecclesiastical State and all foreign state visitations in general.

"Your highness, I thank you once more for accepting and receiving my presence, in any case care to tell me how Neu Uburzis is faring these days, from national happenings court affairs, do tell me anything. The news may exist, but it's good to hear it from someone such as yourself, after all it's your own country". The Pope said, while contiing to spectate the views.

As Robert and Albrecht sat on the opposite side of the Gondola, able to see eye to eye with the pope, Robert replied: "We are trying to slowly make more international connections. Small steps bear fruit, rushing growth results in unripe results." The Towering skyline below glided across them, with Albrecht adding: "We keep trying to have international meddling in our inner workings at a bare minimum. The people do not want, and even less like, when an outside force tries to police them. They like their senate system, even if it's slow."

MEanwhile a little boy, probably around 6 years of age, in a silk tunic with purple trim slowly and nervously shoved a small tea trolley into the room from behind a curtain, doing a deep bow before looking to the assembled. Picking up a Menu card, the kid fumbled with his fingers, several times watching over to Albrecht before finally speaking up, in very broken English with heavy German accent: "May i Serve you anything? I can ... uhm offer you..." the boy slightly trembled before reading from his Note: "Kichererb... uhm Schick-Pee Pancakes, Olive Paste whiss Mint  and Killandro..." the boy stopped, before Albrecht raised an eyebrow giving him a slight hand signal to continue: "Also Appel Jam, Freshchiz Spräd, Moo-Finns, sweat and harty  as well as white Bread and Sparkling Wine."

"Ah yes yes, of course..." From what he heard before as well as today, the Uburzians seemed to belong to the conservative, traditionally minded bunch of folks, a bit like the Ecclesiasticals but to a much more hardlined tone, or that's what at least the Pope's expression of it all. "I personally hold a deep admiration for peoples and their nations who only wish to preserve their cultures and traditions without the risking themselves too much in the risky concept known as globalism and...ooh look who's here!" The Pope said, referring to the little servant boy who catched the Holy Father's attention; he found him quite adorable and cute in that silk tunic, more so with that accent.

He sorta took a pity on the servant who tried his best to communicate what he had to offer in English, it wasn't the easiest thing to do and the Pope knew it quite well. "Thank you for coming at this hour of utmost need hehe, I would like to have a bit of everything, thanks". He answered the little servant boy in picture clear German; he must've surprised his hosts. Turning his gaze towards Robert and Albrecht and continuing in German, "Where are my manners? I apologise for not using the language immediately, in my younger says you see the theology education stressed on the importance of language learning as to spread the gospel as effectively as possible hehe..." The Young Pope jokingly said, *switches to English*, "You wish to still communicate in international standards? It doesn't matter for me, as long as everyone's feeling comfortable."

"Latinis etiam est una e trium linguarum de imperii." Albrecht replied with a warm smile: "It's just he doesn't speak Latin yet, that's only for higher School classes." turning to the child, his gaze became less friendly, almost threatening as he shook his head in disapproval, the boy shaking in his shoes after serving everyone up with little snacks and retreating back behind the curtain.

"Also, we actually speak what you might call a German dialect, mostly called Frankonian. It's even more irregular then German, mind you." Robert added while they where glidding above several off the Skyscraper that all still had small bells in their top segments. "We couldnt fit larger bells in anymore, too risky for the buildings stability." Albrecht added nodding slowly: "We will later have dinner at the Palace in a small circle. The chef has prepared Rabbit."

A plate crashing in the backside of the cabin was heard, Albrecht stood up walking there, while Robert nodded to the Pope: "Any particular place you want to fly over?"

"Ah Franconian, of course. In the Ecclesiastical State, we also have a set of our own dialects, there's one or should I say several categories of Helvetidütsch; it sounds quite special and a bit funny, I'm sure you know which I'm referring to; the CH-sounds one does make in the throat does really get you eventually haha." At that moment his holiness and his company heard a plate crashing and as soon as Albrecht went to check it out, his holiness wondered if it couldn't have been that boy he met earlier...

"Truth be told, I may have done some research in advance in regards to your spectacular skyline but the options are numerous and it probably take more than a day to see them all, so I suppose I would make a suggestion that we may fly over the, in your opinion, the most beautiful place you could think of. Perhaps a 2nd in would be in good order if we have the time..."

"We could take a little Detour over the Park with the Noniam Ruins. Personally i would advise the City of Niameck, but that is outside of our Time schedule."

As Robert had just finished talking, Albrecht slipped back into the main cabin from behind the curtain: "And be more careful, Augustin."  Before taking a seat again: "I think it's time we get Butter to the Fishes. you want to talk about the way most of our Nation seems to have a negative reception of you?" Albrecht leaned back as they cruised through some thin clouds: "You see, our people are having high expectations upon people with a status. You are no one here if you can not argue elegantly around an issue. While you, Peter the second, seem to be carrying your heart on your Tongue. Our people expect leaders to not back down from decisions, but to stand for them. You seem to act with passion, and we do understand that. It does not mean our citizens like it. We omitted the little scene where you tried to gift the saint picture to the Emperor from the Press so far. Let's put it simple..."

Albrecht took a sip from his Glass, swirling it gently: "It was just flat out not a good idea. I wouldn't try to send Seleucid Jewelry as Gift to Piripiri either. Orion didn't feel like you meant it to be hurtful, but he was more than a little taken aback."

"Orion is our Emperor, for our People, he is the amalgamated Will of the Nation." Robert added, looking down as the Ruins past by, and the Roofs of the Palace drawing closer: "We do not ask you to change, just to maybe take a step back and reflect a little more before interacting with him in the future."

As the small Airship landed, several Security Members where leading the Group inside, a dinner tabled had been arranged in a room with Panorama over the city, the Kid taking seat next to Albrecht, while the Pope had given a Seat opposing to him, next to Robert.

"This boy here is Augustin. Oldest son of Orions departed Sister. Currently third in Succession." Albrecht added, before clapping slowly for a servant dishing up the First course. Black salsify Soup was catered, alongside of Lamb's Lettuce and Toasted Flatbread.

Pope Peter II listened with great care and attention as the noblemen were offering their views on his past actions which have caused some stir among the citizens, it made him also reflect.

"I truly and fully understand what you're getting at and I thank thee for pointing out my previous flaws which has severely reflected the overall outlook I send to everyone looking up to me. To be frank, I would have never guessed that I would become the Pope of the Celestian Catholic Church and the Ecclesiastical State; of all the candidates the voting Cardinals and the Holy Spirit chose me to guide this extraordinary faith, a younger-than-average prince of the Church...

My inexperience, arrogance and attempt to appease the ultra orthodox has ultimately put me in this cast of shadow, so to say. Which is why I also admit that how I handled the case regarding Grand Master Erik was totally wrong and inappropriate, instead of showing mercy and understanding I displayed intolerance and stubborness...It might as well be too late and a slim chance to perhaps reconsider coming back, however one can't say that having dialogue with another can't work, and I'm at least willing on my part to do so. These are naturally words and no action yet, which is why I would be grateful if the Grand Master would take some time and actually sit down and have a chat with me personally, any time and venue according to his wishes. We belong to the same faith after all...

I agree on all the points brought up, with one exception which is about 'change'. I do believe some change needs to occur; this isn't the dinner table back at home in Ashwood, Achkaerin with my old mentor Bishop Martin Deed and my adoptive sister Katherine, this is the real, actual world where a lot are on stake. My words and actions have more meaning to them now that I'm such a high-profile figure...At least your Imperial Majesty hasn't entirely shown a complete dislike of my standing, hopefully there will be several more opportunities to show a different and more pleasant side, as well as for the other world leaders."

The Pope and his hosts were escorted by a security team into the palace where they would feast, taking the opportunity to greet the third in succession, Augustin. It was then something popped up in the Pontiff's mind as they were served dinner, asking Robert. "Forgive me my excellency if it's inappropriate and rude, but how does a imperial marriage with a foreigner work here amongst the Neu Uburzian Imperial Family? Perhaps there would be opportunities for some of the Imperial members to marry into our own Amaranthine Dynasty and forge greater bonds? I could lay in a good word for Empress Helena..." he finished, while tasting the soup, Lamb's lettuce and toasted flatbread which of course glorified his taste pallets to the core, making a 'mmmh' sound and commenting on the good flavours.

Robert shook his head slowly: "Point being, it is our Nations firm believe that it is not within our right to demand change from another culture, why we would expect you to accept our distancing for actions we do not approve off."

Augustin meanwhile was twitching nervously on his chair, with Albrecht putting a Hand on his shoulder: "Sitz bitte still, wir haben Gäste."1 before he turned back to the Pope: "I would say how you dealt with Grand master Schultz was hasty, yet in the same Breath he did the same by simply trying to go on as before and just kick the responsible people out without thinking of deeper roots of the issue. In a way, you helped him rebuilding the order, while it did cost your church their presence here. I think your Faith would say, that God works in mysterious ways?"

The Servants brought in the main course. Steaming Potatoes in several ways, as Gratin Dauphin, mashed, Fries. Augustins Face turned pale, as his breathing got short when the Servants brought four silver gravy boat's, decorated with hunting horns, and an equal number of plates with a silver cloche, adorned by what seemed like a handle shaped like a sleeping bunny. Lifting up, they revealed four stunningly glistening, moist rabbit roast, smelling of rosemary and thyme. Augustin was not having any of it, it seemed. He hushed of the servant trying to put bunny onto his palte, instead he just put some fries onto his plate, without gravy, as the little boy did his best to not look up at all.
Albrecht on the other hand was not having any of this, taking it into his own hand and setting a nice piece of carved Rabbit legs  onto Augustin's Plate, along with a healthy splash of Gravy. "You don't want to seem like a picky eater, don't you?" Albrecht sternly told him.

"Bitte, nicht..."2 Augustin mumbled, his head low, trying to only eat the fries untouched by gravy.
"Augustin..." Albrecht replied with a stern tone, clearly getting a message through as wet drips landed on the table cloth:

"Ich will Schnuffelchen nicht essen..."3

"Get yourself together, you know why this happened."

"Ja, aber... bitte ich will Schnuffelchen nicht essen..."4 the Boy wasn't even trying to hide it now, his swollen red eyes pleading towards an unrelenting Albrecht who disapprovingly shook his head.

"Last warning. I do not want to have to do this when we have a Guests. So show him that you are a big boy, or i have to treat you like a little one." Albrecht added.

Augustin hopped off his chair, and his teary eyes starred right back at Albrecht, before he stomped one feet on the ground: "Ich werde Schnuffel nicht essen! Man isst keine Freunde!"5 though his voice had broken in towards the end.

Albrecht didn't wait for another go, and grabbed Augustin by his Neck, dragging the boy out of the Room: "We will be back in a second." He said to the guests, as Robert just nodded. Augustin didn't even struggle as he let himself being walked off like a Prisoner to the scaffold.

Robert,  shrugged slightly,  chewing a decent piece of Rabbit, before turning to the Pope once he finished chewing and swallowing: "Oh don't worry. Ever heard of Whipping Boys? They are actually very effective, just we changed it with Pet Bunnies for the Imperial Children roughly a hundred Years ago."

1 "Please, sit still, we have Guests."
2 "Please, don't."
3 "I don't want to eat Snuggles."
4 "Yes, but... I don't want to eat Snuggles."
5 "I won't eat Snuggles! You do not eat Friends!"

"Yes, I suppose you're right, the Lord does work in mysterious ways. It's probably going to be the same process like what happened with the Knights of Mountjoy in 1667...if it weren't for Empress Josephine back then, who knows what might have happened hehe. In any case, relations between us are on the positives at least and cooperation stronger than before..." before continuing, the servers came back in with the variety of potatoes as well as the moist rabbits, so shiny and the inredible smell which filled up everyone's noses, his holiness couldn't wait to take a bite, and when he sure did...literally in food paradise and he didn't bother hiding his emotions.

"Send my complements to the chef..." he told one of the servants passing his way throughm giving him a tap on the shoulder. "So..." Pope Peter was abrubted by Augustin's reluctance to eat Mr. Snuggles or so one of the many versions of his best friend Mother Nature had to offer, before Albrecht grabbed him by the throat and dragged him outside the dining hall. Though this time the young Pope wanted to act calm and 'normal' instead of letting his emotions control the actions and behaviors which would ultimately decide the image being projected on everyone else, instead he tried to find the fun and joy in all of this, as well as some reason and logic.

"Well if it works for your children, why not? *sighs with a lil' laugh* Kids, no matter the centuries past, they're also still the same. Augustin reminds me a lot when I was in his size and situation, defying one's superior might be brave but at the same time might end up in...well disciplinary actions. It's like the Ecclesiastical kids back home when their parents are trying to feed them meat, in which the little Schnuffelchen lovers start to preach about 'God's gift to nature and how we should cherish them' talk...fun times indeed...fun times. They simply need to understand that they can be vegans, vegetarians when they're older yet it's essential if they stuff themselves with meat and other healthy complementaries due to how their bodies develope etc, though correct me if I'm wrong certainly."

His holiness noticed that his question was ignored, either in purpose or forgetful, so he tried again. "About Imperial marriages...may tell me how it works here? Interested in the Amaranthine Dynasty? Perhaps Albrecht is the right guy to talk to instead?"

"Oh the Marriages?" Robert shrugged, leaning back: "That's simple. The Five People next in Inheritance line get Spouses decided by us Senators. All Senates try to determine who is best fitted as spouse, based on personality, health, their view on their culture. In a way that is our way on voting on the next Emperor or Empress. It will get wild once Orion is at the age for marriage. Heck, i hope we don't get women killing each other like we had with Alexandra's hopefuls."
A creaking noise and a sniffle marked the return of Augustin and Albrecht to the Room, the little boy slightly bowing: "Sowwy for ze comb lotion."
Albrecht just sighed as he did lead Augustin to the table, who seated himself on the very edge of the chair before slowly, and with shivering hands started to cut pieces of his meal.
"If you eat up, you can spent some play time with Orion." Albrecht added: "It hurts me just as much seeing you sad, but i have to teach you this lesson."
Augustin didn't answer, just closed his eyes and with a deep, slowly breath put a piece of rabid meat. He held it a moment in his mouth before, with tears from his cheek, swallowing the treat.

"Desert on the Balcony?" Albrecht asked, turning to the pope: "We have a nice view on the evening skyline. I have to add it is a cold wind up here."

"I'd prefer to stay in." Robert added: "The wind always gets my back. I am to old for that."

"Hehe, well same can be said about men trying to marry our Empresses..." It was at this moment that Albrecht returned with Augustin, who was still trying to recover frpom that horrible, traumatic experience involving the reluctance to munch on bunnies. His holiness tried to cheer him up in a subtle way and that everything would be fine. "Well for the sake of our back Senator, we can have our desserts inside...Now, I think this is a great opportunity to also discuss about a potential treaty between Neu Uburzis and what it might contain as well as the future for both of us in order to improve our overall standing...From what I gathered previously, the Neu Uburzians are conservative when it comes to economic policies, am I correct to assume so?" the Pope said.

"Conservative?" Robert seemed a little irked with that remark, shaking his head: "That word hardly fits us. We might be conservative in the literal sense, but we aren't in what most people consider conservative to be."

Albrecht nodded slowly, leaning back: "There are several hurdles to overcome. First, we are strictly ecological focused. We as Nation, as Culture, have to protect our Soil, and spilling blood is the least important part of that. All of our Citizen pay a price for this choice. We lack a lot of fresh imported fruits since you simply can not in an ecological way transport them here. It's the reason we use Airships with Bio Diesel. But that's only one part. Another is that our judicial system does not recognize the concept of a judicial person. A Company is not a Person, and if you have a company, you as the owner are responsible."

"Short version, stock markets have a hard time, as every time the company screws up, every single investor faces the court. Theres also the Part that one company can not own another in our System. Can a Person own multiple companies? Can something that isn't even a Person actually own something? Or doe the People running it truly own it?" Robert added leaning back:

"Truth is, when it comes to economics, people might think us pretty far left. Not that we would agree but we traditionally disagree with several, in our eyes, nonsensical self servicing concepts."

"I understand your ongoing situation, which I frankly admire and begs me to ask what is it that NU could possibly import if it isn't products such as fruits? You must be pretty self-suficient if strictly living to these noble principles. For that matter, what is it that you'd wish to take place between ES and NU, anything from trade to other projects in mind?" the Pope added, as the servants were back with the desserts.

As Pastry, Trifle and Puddings where served, Robert nodded slowly: "The important aspect trading with us isn't what, but how. The Senates had established strict rules for import goods, and each and every company has to give us a rundown before we allow them then. Short version? It's just not profitable for most of them."

Albrecht nodded slowly, leaning back: "Especially since we have hefty fines involved. It's not exactly good for Economic growth, But what worth is growth if you cut  down the Tree you sit on?"

Augustin meanwhile was sating his appetite with sweets, leaving half the Rabbit on the Plate, all while trying to avoid looking at Albrecht:
"It's alright, i think you earned your dessert." He added smiling: "Besides, Augustin? You are being mirrored in the Window."

"Understood..." It wasn't much of an answer, especially the part where the hosts had the chance to tell Peter if the country had any projects that could be partaken together. So he had to just go with the flow and begin with the actual proposed treaty. "I notice that your answer didn't include any specific projects you could possibly undertake with the Ecclesiastical State, no worries I'm sure either of us will figure something out, in any case what I would like to begin is a proposed treaty between our nations, the first section being Diplomacy. Please, feel free to offer any suggestions and concerns..."

(1) The parties agree to maintain active embassies with each other. If summoned an ambassador shall present themselves to the host government within twenty four hours of the summons.

(2) Either party may request a twelve hour extension upon receipt of the summons should a level of seniority be required due to the issue concerned.

(3) The parties declare that they shall act in a spirit of friendship and cooperation with a view to further developing and fostering economic and cultural intercourse with one another, each adhering to the principle of respect for the independence and sovereignty of the other and non-interference in their internal affairs.

(4) Should disputes or conflicts arise between the High Contracting Parties over problems of one kind or another, both parties shall settle these disputes or conflicts exclusively through friendly exchange of opinion or, if necessary, through the establishment of arbitration commissions.

(5) The parties shall allow citizens of the other nation to apply for a fast track visas aiding in travel between the two nations for purpose of trade, recreation, and business. These visas shall be available to anyone who meets the following criteria

(a) Has a stay lasting no longer than 90 days
(b) Has a return ticket
(c) Is able to fund the duration of their stay.
(d) Has no criminal record
(e) Is not deemed a threat to national security.
(f) All requirements have been fulfilled in accordance to local laws and procedures when conducting trade and/or business.

Before Albrecht was even able to answer, Robert snatched up the paper, folded it together neatly and put it to his own documents: "I will run this through the Senates. It might take a bit but i do not think we need the Regents Emergency Power to circumvent the Senates here. This is day by day business, really."

Albrecht nodded slowly, wiping his mouth, before turning back to the pope: "As i said, our Citizens want Trust to be earned. That's true for companies, Nations, People. I can't just tell you because the cities are going to want to have a say in it, so does the elder senate. As for Embassies, there's an area we had renovated right her ein the City, down at the River. It used to be an industrial Harbor. We have several repurposed Factories and Warehouses, or entirely new plots available."

Augustin meanwhile yawned, rubbing his Eyes.

"That sounds lovely indeed; these old buildings, I assume have some special certification or marks of cultural importance and thus there are regulations on how one would want to renovate for instance?" the Pope asked curiously, being a fan of general history even though it lies primarily in the aspects of military history. "We wouldn't mind if our embassy were to be located in such a area, would be a nice change from the usual stainless-glass high rises in other countries. Also am glad to hear that the diplomatic section didn't cause much issue, which is why I would now propose the economic section; most certainly it would probably need to change due to your nation's nature regarding this...I'm especially referring to point (7)".

(6) The parties pledge to trade fairly with each other and to respect the lawful commerce of each party.

(7) Neither of the parties shall create taxes, limits, bans, or quotas on the goods or services of the other party on basis of their origin from the other party, with exception to such taxes, limits, bans, or quotas created by international organizations of which the parties are members thereof.

(8) The parties recognize the right of free commercial navigation through the waters and airspace of the other party, with adherence to local laws and procedures.

While the gentlemen were scanning the paper, Peter noticed that Augustin was feeling bored and took the opportunity to chat a bit. "So Augustin, everything alright in your life so far hehe? Currently undergoing school (incl. private education), and what's your favorite subject if that were the case?"

Robert shook his head, rubbing his nose bridge: "Not happening. We have various tariffs in place that make sure people buy locally, instead of having goods shipped all around the globe. Shorter Travel and a smaller CO2 Footprint mean lower Tariffs, so the Senates won't agree to this."
"Navigation won't happen either. We'd have to give you overflight rights which our people will oppose. Unless it's important, no planes. Then again, you have to get a discussion with the Senates going, Pope Peter, i will not overrule their legislative Right." Albrecht added, leaning back: "Our people think of Fair Trade something that is fair for Flora and Fauna as well. If you want Treaties, right now is the wrong place. Best have your foreign Minister work something out so work can be done on something less, standardized. We aren't exactly a typical Government Type."

"Das Fach, wo wir nicht mit Fremden Männern reden." ("The Subject, where we aren't talking to Strangers.") Augustin answered in an angry tone, before standing up from his chair: "Ich musste auf das doofe Schiff mit, musste meinen Freund essen, bin gehauen worden und jetzt fragt ein blöder Arsch mich ob alles in Ordnung ist!" ("I had to get onto the stupid Blimp, had to eat my friend, have been hit, and now some stupid Arse is asking me if everything is alright!") Before Albrecht could intervene, Augustin had grabbed his cutlery, throwing a dirty spoon full of grave at the pope, missing him by far as tears dropped from his Face: "BLÖDER DEPP!" was what he yelled, before trying to throw a fork as well. Albrecht had grabbed it quickly out of Augustins hand, and Placed two hard slaps on the Boys Face. One front, one Backhand. To the boys Terror, he didn't stopp there, but quickly pulled him up, over the chair, and added two more onto the wailing kid, before ultimately handing him to the Servants:
"You know to which room." Albrecht told them, and as the whimpering kid was dragged off, the Prince Regent just seemed sad:
"I never thought have to be the one doing that one day myself." Robert nodded slowly: "You are still a lot more forgiving than Alexandra was." before turning back to the Pope:

"I am so sorry for the commotion. Augustin was already on probation for throwing fits at his cousins and siblings. I really thought he'd be able To behave himself today."

"My sincere apologies, I didn't really mean...all of this, just wanted to lighten up the mood though I suspect it didn't work out quite well as it should have." the Pope responded, making a pause and thinking about what had just happened, almost getting pierced by cutlery right in the face by a disgruntled little Prince who had all the right to feel upset. I hope it would be possible to relay a message to the prince later, informing him that I have any ill-will against him whatsoever.

"I suppose then that was everything I had to offer on my part in this treaty which will only deal with matters regarding diplomacy for now, as normally I would then transcend into the security section, however that would only be valid for those who've a close connection with ES, which NU doesn't have currently and vice versa...perfectly understandable, my government can keep in touch with yours whenever we can figure an unorthodox solution to the security section." Peter said while finishing the selection of dessert consisting of Pastry, Trifle and Pudding. Hey, it was at least worth embarking on such a trip for the food's sake he thought for himself.

"Gentlemen, is there anything else you'd wish to bring to the discussion table?" his holiness asked, drinking a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the process.

"I think that would be enough for Today, the goal was to try and get a better understanding off each other, not sign treaties" Robert said, nodding slowly: "As for the Renovations. The buildings are basically empty shells. You can remodel the interior to see fit. While usually we have strict building rules, the embassies are supposed to reflect the nation they are off, we have lifted the regulations for them."

Albrecht slowly sipped coffee, seemingly in though: "Did you want to stay the night or get back on your plane? We do have guest accommodations ready if you wish so. The Palace has a Guest house. Basically a hotel for our Guests." While watchign the clock nervously, tipping with his feet on the floor, then looking back at to where Augustin had been sitting.

"Lovely to hear, then I'm sure the newly conscecrated Nuncio will look like at home in regards to its interior, much appreciated.

Well anyway, thanks gentlemen for the first day of Neu Uburzian hospitality and indeed it's bedtime; I would certainly want to spend the night in the guest quarters, and believe the luggage has already been picked up so not much hazzle for my part." The Pope replied while making a subtle yawn, he needed to get refreshed for tomorrow as the state vistation surely wasn't over just yet. He hoped he managed to make a good impression as much as possible aside from the few unfortunate mispleasenties that arose.

Robert and Albrecht stood up, both nodding to the Pope: "We will take our leave then." before walking off to the old castle. Only as they where deep into the bowels of the castle, Robert turned heel and barked at Albrecht:

"What in the Underworld did you try to pull there?"

"Proving a point." Albrecht said, tilting his head: "And giving two children with more responsibility on their shoulders than they can handle a lesson."

"Be glad i think you where right, next time, don't get the young ones mixed up in politics again." Robert added, before making his way off, hobbling away with his cane.

Albrecht had made a detour to the gardens before climbing up the stairs of the old central Tower. the lower parts used to be Alexandras knitting rooms. now simply disused. what was important was the old dungeon on top. What had been used in ages long past to hold prisoners, held captives of a different kind these days. Albrechts heart felt like it sank deeper as he could hear Augustin still sobbing from outside the door, before he entered.
The room was sparely furnished. A single bed, white blank sheets. Blank walls. no toys, only the clothes for the next day in the drawer. No Toys, nothing to make the time pass by. Every Royal child and adult remembered the place with dread, the boredom. The inability to escape, alone with only your own thoughts and the sounds from the castle below. And then there where the dooming footsteps of an adult approaching. It used to never end well.

He slowly creaked the door open, put a small package to the side as he started walking over to Augustin. Curled up like a Yarn ball, wet stains all over the sheets he had dried his tears with. His breathing nonrhythmic as his broken whimpers still held the little one gripped. Albrecht walked over slowly, yet he shuddered in shock as he noticed Augustin holding his hands over his own head, cowering in fear as Albrecht had come closer.

"I am not here to punish you, Augustin." Albrecht said, regret filling his voice: "I even understand that you got mad at our guests."
Albrecht tried to put a hand on Augustins shoulder, whom brushed him off, trying to scuttle away: "I won't hit you. Promise." Albrecht said, before pulling his hand back: "You have to understand i tried to make you understand why it's important to do your duties Augustin. You hadn't cleaned up your room, you had skipped homework, you even didn't clean out Schnuffelchens pen."
"Not that it matters anymore" the little one whimpered, before crying loudly again, his speech broken by several breaks where he had to gasp for air: "I just want my friend back! I didn't want him to get hurt!"

"But, that's the whole point Augustin. Whenever we do not do our duties, it falls on someone else. If i don't pick up behind me, someone else has to, if i do not learn about the street rules, someone else gets hurt when i crash into them. If you do not clean your bunnies stable, it will fall ill and could die." Albrecht slowly pulled Augustin up, untangling the knot the little boy made himself into: "I really didn't wan't to have to hit you there, i get why you where angry. Peter has been an ass. You thought you just had to eat your little furry companion, had gotten a royal reminder to get your act straight, and he asks if you had a nice day. Like hell you could have. That's still not a reason to throw cutlery at someone. You could have hurt them."
"I wanted to" Augustin sobbed, by now allowing Albrecht to hold him tight. "I know, but that man is the pope. Head of a Nation. Not anything like our Glorious Empire, but still, there's a whole lot of people thinking of him almost a god on earth. Sometimes we all need to think if the consequences are really worth following our emotions."
"They would have been." Augustin retorted: "I Miss Schnuffelchen..."
"About that. I think you might want to make sure to keep his pen clean from now on." Albrecht said, seating Augustin back up onto the bed, before taking the package he brought back up again:
"He is sleeping, and needs rest. The trip to the Veterinarian was exhausting, but he is getting better now." Slowly pulling the cloth from the cage, revealing a sleeping fluffy bunny with several black dots in it's else white fur: "Come look, but be quiet." Handing Augustin a small bunny sized collar with a bell: "you can give it back to Schnuffelchen tomorrow. Also, you only stay here for tonight, i expect you back doing your chores tomorrow. Do we have a deal?"
Augustin, after inspecting with his teary eyes if it was truly his pet, just whimpered to the cage: "I'll take more care now! Promise!"
Albrecht slowly moved out of the room, leaving the door unlocked. "Sleep well Augustin."

Although the Pope's sleep was pleasant and deep like a log of wood, he dreamt in a weird and funny fashion, consisting of weasles, bunnies, 'Moo Finns', Comb Lotions and flying cutlery. As he woke up from the cozy bed of his, he tried to analyze what this strange dream could mean although gave up when he realised that it could have been just a reflection of the entire yesterday. Dismissing such nonsense, he went to the bathroom to freshen up, as he looked into the mirror looking at himself; Here he was currently in his life, a former cardinal who couldn't possibly know that he would become the next leader of a nation and Mundus' Catholics...despite the mistakes he'd committed in terms of diplomacy, he nonetheless was willing to have his mind opened and change his ways. It was time that he started to think like a politican, not the type discussing issues at the kitchen table and being a Theologian, as being only that wouldn't grant him wider access to the world.

After showering and putting on his traditional attire, he waited til' it was time for breakfast.
