"Oh I know my contact don't you worry about that." Serenity said taking out her phone and sending Kyoko Anselmo a text linking an old RBC article and then a short message Start the rumour mill please...and let Asuna and Reid know what's cooking. S with that done she nodded to Evanthe and they returned to the room. It was of course highly likely that Andrew could guess why she'd taken Evanthe out of the room, it was undoubtedly obvious to the Seaforthian King that Serenity wasn't happy with what Evanthe had thrown into the mix and therefore easily deduced that she'd wanted a private word to try and get Evanthe back on track.
Once the two had returned to Andrew's presence, following a quick consultation with Pyrettania on what her course of action would be, Evanthe sat down, looked at her phone, and began to address the King. "I have consulted Chrysanthemum Throne on the matters we've been discussing and have consulted with the Empress on the request of the Kingdom of Seaforth I have been authorized to offer the following. The First Empire will subscribe to the remedies proposed by Seaforth, in full, should the Kingdom agree that Rishiri is granted the same rights which Seaforth seeks in regards to Troyes. We both know that Rishiri is overwhelmingly Rokkenjiman, that Rokkenjima has invested countless billions of Ducats into the infrastructure of Rishiri, before even taking into account the construction and later demolition of QAMB, so the Empress believes that the People of Rishiri should be entitled to the referendum the House of Delegates passed into Rishiri law back in 2019. The Empress would also wish to see that Rokkenjima enjoys tariff-free trade in the Illumic and, if that's not possible, tariff-free trade in Cotf Aranye under similar provisions as Seaforth has proposed for Troyes into Albion for the Kingdom. After all," she gave a pause as she looked to the distance for a moment before returning her eyes to King Andrew, "if international legitimacy, norms and law are nothing of import anymore, if Troyes may exist without the consent of Marseilles, what is there to stop Rokkenjima from ignoring those same standards of legitimacy, norms and laws to bypass the lease upon which Rishiri is maintained? With that being said," she paused again, "if you are amenable to the provisions set forth by the Empress I can see that your request receives an immediate green-light and that the Kingdom will enjoy the full and unconditional support of the First Empire moving forward. Your cousin would know better," she said as she opened a locket she wore displaying a picture of Joshua, "than to set precedents that are foolhardy and inherently damaging to international harmony; he stood aside and anointed you as King for a reason."
"Don't prove him wrong in that call by taking every action in your arsenal to prop up your continued presence in Troyes; you are amongst friends and family after all, and friends and family who don't tell you you're in the wrong when you clearly are aren't the kind you want close to you, lest they stand by as you set yourself up for most certain failure. Seaforth has two options: an honourable departure from Troyes, one which Empress Saisei did not choose in her response to the closure of QAMB in Rishiri might I remind you, or an extended embarrassment as it clings on despite every sign telling it to go, holding on only for prestige and ego. Make the right call, your Majesty; work with us, not against us."
Serenity had stood off to the side and watched as Evanthe built the walls, it was quite an interesting moment putting Andrew into the position that Marseilles was in, Rishiri was just metaphorically the tip of the iceberg here as well, but the point here was that neither she nor Evanthe were indulging what they viewed as Seaforthian hypocrisy for a moment longer and this was the last chance they were giving Andrew "One who has no love in his heart will try to possess everything for himself. One who has love in his heart is ready to sacrifice everything, including his own body, for the benefit of others." Serenity said quoting from the teachings of Marissa, which considering she was a Namist quoting a deity of the Helus Pantheon was potentially shocking for Andrew, she wasn't suggesting Andrew personally didn't know love after all Camryn was quite a prominent figure in Andrew's life she was being metaphorical but as the saying went on the head that wears the crown let all the sorrows lie "So while you take the position of continuing to try and legitimise your continued possession of Troyes which is an unjust cause if ever I saw one, consider that I am prepared to sacrifice for the people of that city and for the people of Marseilles and so is the Empress of Rokkenjima. Withdraw your presence and Sauzee will give you a trade agreement with Marseilles, that's something concrete that you can walk away with or say no, but know that if you say that that you risk everything you could have got, everything we were prepared to give you for the very real possibility of nothing. I know the teachings instilled within Jocelyn and what they would lead her to choose, I hope you choose as wisely as she would."
