VK social network comes to Pramoria

The arrival of the new VK brings a lot of enthusiasm among young people

VK social network from Tamora comes to Pramoria after the company reached an agreement with the government of Pramoria regarding the activity of protecting the online environment on the platform by monitoring and restricting false and defamatory information.

The Ministry of Education issued a statement stating that VK has adapted the policies to the needs and particularities of the market in Pramoria.
Also, according to the Pramoria Ministry of Education, the government will not favor the use of VK in the kingdom as long as the foreign social networks operating in Pramoria will implement the same set of measures. "We want a level playing field on the social media market. If foreign social networks will understand this then they are free to continue in Pramoria."

Mahdi Farahani arrived at the track race with his two sons: Amir (12 years old) and Assad (10 years old). He was a man of few words and the sons were like him.

You could never know what was on his mind exactly. The economic crises that was just starting in Pramoria, making new strategic alliances or finding ways to grow his oil business.

He entered the VIP area and greeted Heydar and Abbas:
"Your Majesties, It's a pleasure to meet you."

Crises in Kyne affects Pramoria's tourism

Following the tragedy in Royal Seleucid numbers show a decrease  of foreign tourists in Pramoria. The tourism agents are concerned that many business are going bad and may lead to an economical crisis in the long run .

"Our sales have decreased by 10% in the last few weeks due to all this  situation. If this goes along, not only the profits will be affected but also the lives of a large sector of employees . This is just another fact that stands behind why other nations must mind their own business in their part of world " was the statement of Sara Ghaffari,  the owner of the largest commercial center in capital Damarca, "Alladin City".

The Minister of Tourism, Amir Blourian, stated : "Matters are being discussed and we are aiming to resolve this situation as soon as possible. One of the occasion for these discussions will take place soon enough in Royal Selucid where Mr Mahdi Farahani (first husband of our Queen) will represent us in the meeting of the MidAranye leaders"  .

Queen Aisha comments on the tragedy in  Royal Selucid

Queen Aisha Adib-Farahani-Dirbaz-Safavid, during a visit to a shelter for orphan children, addressed some of the hot topics in Midaranye: the Selucid crisis. When asked what Pramoria’s stance on the matter was, she replied:

“I strongly believe that more nations should follow our example and focus more on their domestic affairs rather than preoccupy themselves with issues that happened in other countries, some on different continents. We are now having an excellent performance at the Mundus games and we are doing that because we focus on the health and wellbeing of our people rather than waste energy to follow what other countries are doing.

As far as the current crisis is concerned, I strongly believe that the foreign powers that have sent ships near Midaranye should recall those ships. Their presence here is neither needed nor desired. I have also instructed my admirals to support our Sel
ucid neighbors by sending Pramorian ships alongside them and the Tamorans to the sea of Kyne. We are part of Midaranye and will show that to all. ”

When asked what her opinion is on Pharaoh’s Beketaten criticism of Royal Selucid, the Queen replied that:

“With wolfs on our door now it is a time to show unity in Midaranye. When the crisis has been adverted then a time a reflection will come and then we can talk about what went wrong.”

Shortly after the Queen’s speech, the Pramorian Navy announced that one destroyer and three frigates will join the Selucid and Tamoran ships in Kyne.

Slavic Federation News Service

Today the election campaign has officially started with parties and candidates now being able to campaign freely for the 300 seats of the Parliament as well as the office of President of the Federal Republic. For the first time the party leading the polls is the Monarchist Party, with the Conservative Coalition trailing behind just 2 points. For the office of president Mr. Karim Najafi of the Monarchist Party is favored with the current president Mr.  Rustam Marikanov of the Conservative Coalition polling behind just 2 points. The Monarchist Party has seen a steady increase in support as immigration in the Republic has increased in the last decades.
These elections could be the most important ones for the Federal Republic as both Mr. Karim Najafi and the Monarchist Party have pledged to end the republican system of government should they get elected and turn the Slavic Federation into a monarchy like many of the countries in Midaranye. Other issues are expected to also play major role in the campaign like: the high unemployment now at over 15%, immigration, the status of the 2 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the Federal Republic, crime and the reforming the justice system, racial and religious tensions, the role of religion in the public space, the current recession, the high public debt which is now over 100% of GDP and foreign relations, especially the relations the Federal Republic has with the countries of Midaranye.

Parliament debates naturalization of more than 2 million illegal immigrants

Debates have started in Parliament on the bill proposed by the Monarchist Party to grant citizenship to any immigrant living in the Slavic Federation provided they have no criminal record and pay a fine. There are approx. 2 million illegal immigrants in the Slavic Federation, many of them of Tamoran and Clysperi origin. The issue has far reaching implication as the 2 mil immigrants could significantly change the electoral landscape of the country and favor the Monarchist party which enjoys support among the Parthian community of more than 90%.

MPs of the Monarchist Party have said “if convicted criminals are allowed to vote in this country why aren’t immigrants?”

Major outcry as Igor Nabriski is awarded compensation of 2 million Slavic dinars

Igor Nabriski who was accused of the murder and rape of three women but the trial was suspended and the man released when it became apparent that prosecutors mishandled critical evidence has now won court damages of 2 million Slavic dinars for the way prosecutors handled the interrogation, for the emotional stress caused and the reputational damage the trial caused him.

Hundreds of thousands took to the streets to protest against the court's decision. Some of the protests turned violent.

The Monarchist Party criticized the court calling it a "bad joke" from a "judicial system that protects criminal activity " .

Monarchist Party introduces bill to allow the acquisition of SNB bank by Damarga Royal Bank

The Monarchist Party has introduced a bill in parliament that will allow for the acquisition of SNB bank by Damarga Royal Bank following the rejection of the transaction by the Central Bank.

The Monarchist heavily criticized the decision calling an "an insult to Midaranye business interests and deeply rooted in racism".

"Parliament has the chance to make things right and show to the electorate of Parthian background that this Parliament does not think there is anything wrong to being Parthian. "

The Parliament voted in favor of the bill with several members of the ruling party voting in favor and stating that they do not want to have the issue politicized so close to the next elections.

Factbooks and Maps / Re: The Slavic Federation
« on: August 25, 2019, 04:43:00 PM »
Politics of the Slavic Federation:

The politics of the Federal Republic is divided along ethnic lines with three parties representing the largest ethnic groups in the country.

The Conservative Coalition:

The main party of the Federal Republic, has been in power for decades and represents the Slavic(ethnic)  part of electorate. Decades of immigration has seen the Slav population lower as a percentage of the country's population and more citizens of Slavic background began to vote along ethnic lines. Eventually, the different political parties merged into the Conservative Coalition or gone defunct.

Main policies and agenda:
The party seeks to preserve (conserve) the current republican establishment and promotes the idea of a one nation united along a series of principles: rule of law, human rights, secularism and the Slavic language.
The party has a negative view of most nations in Midaranye seeing them as detrimental to the Republic's values but is divided between seeking better relations or even alliances with outside powers in an effort to counterbalance the Midaranye influence or seeking neutrality. It is for this reason that the party has been unable to pursue a clear and coherent foreign policy despite being in power for decades.

The Monarchist Party

The Monarchist Party represents the interests of the ethnic Parthians of the Slavic federation. It is the second most important political force and it has never been in power.

 Main policies and agenda:
The stated goal of the party is to overthrow the Republic and establish a monarchy in the Federation. Party leaders have provided little details about the proposed monarchs but the fact that the party is strongly rooted in the Parthian community has led many to believe they mean a noble from the Parthian states ( Pramoria and Tamora).
The party presents itself as though on crime, the defender of Parthian rights and a promoter of family and Midaranye values. The party is a strong proponent of closer ties with the other Midaranye states and strongly rejects international treaties and organizations which it sees as an infringement on the sovereignty of the country.  Furthermore, the party is a strong critic of the sanctions levied against Tamora labeling them as “economic blackmail”.

The Minority Alliance

The Minority Alliance is by far the smallest of the three political parties of the Federal Republic and represents the interests of the Clysperi and other non Parthian minorities in the Republic.

Main policies and agenda:
The Minority Alliance differentiates itself from the Monarchist Party by being more moderate in its criticism of the Republican system and tends to view the Monarchist Party as too focused on Parthian interests rather than ethnic minorities in general.

He also pointed out that Pramoria's banks do not charge interest unlike many countries and that would help investors in their businesses.

Latest data shows the economy shows no sign of recovering from the recession

The latest data from the Ministry of Finance shows that the economy continues its downward trend it has for more than three years. Furthermore, the already high unemployment of more than 14% is likely to increase to 15% as more and more businesses are downsizing. The Ministry has said that among the factors that are causing the recession is the social unrest in the country ( in 2018 there have been more than 40 large protests around the country with half turning violent causing a total of 5 billion dinars in damages and lowering investors' confidence in the economy), the massive public debt that continues to increase as more and more people are applying for benefits under the current economic conditions, the complicated regional context where international sanctions have hit both Tamora and Slava Lavosk as well as competition from other Midaranye countries that are now opening free economic zones as well as other factors.

The minister of Finance had this to say:" the economy is going through a though period but the government is doing everything in its power to ameliorate its effects. Unfortunately, most of what is causing the recession is not in our power to fix. The news that our Eastern neighbor has nuclear weapons has greatly unsettled foreign investors whom are increasingly seeing the region as unstable. We are hopeful that the international community will solve the ongoing crisis but other issues like the threat of war between Empire of Tamora and the Republic of Slava Lavosk still remains. I nevertheless want to reassure the people that the government has no intention of cutting the benefits our citizens have. The government must be there for the people when times are tough and the federal government will not let the people down."

The leader of the opposition however said that" the government is hiding its incompetence by blaming the region's problems for the recession. Royal Seleucid is not experiencing any downturn and neither is Pramoria and they are in the same region. That is because those countries are monarchies ruled by people who think long term rather than for the next election cycle. This country will not recover until it changes its form of government. "

MCUR narrowly rejected by Parliament

In a close vote 52 to 48 the proposed singing of MCUR was rejected. The vote was largely along ethnic lines will all those of Parthian background voting against signing MCUR. However it was the vote of other minorities and 4 MPs of the government coalition that turned the tide against the international treaty aimed at protecting human rights. The four MPs were part of the ultra-religious right of the government party and members of the Orthodox Church.

The government has said that they are deeply disappointed with the vote but respect the decision of the Parliament. While the opposition praised as a victory of traditional values and Midaranye values.  One MP of the opposition said " I think signing MCUR would have sent the wrong message in Midaranye that we are out of touch with what is happening in the region. I mean just a few weeks ago we had the Queen of Royal Seleucid send a powerful message in defense of family values. Also, MCUR is signed by some of the nations that have shown outright hostility towards the affairs of Midaranye. I will name here: Rokkenjima and  Seaforth among others. I am disappointed to say that this government’s foreign policy is out of touch with what the people, especially young people, want and is also increasingly out of touch with the values of Midaranye where we live. "

Voluntary work and donations on the rise in the Federal Republic

Latest study shows that citizens have become increasingly more generous. Whether it is voluntary work or donations there both on the rise. Citizens of Slavic background have chosen to donate both their time and money to secular NGOs such as the Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association while those of Parthian background have chosen overwhelmingly to donate their money and time to their respective religious organizations. The growth in voluntary work and donations is largely driven by the above average growth for those with Parthian background. According to the study the increase there is driven by the religious requirement of donating 10% of income to the religious institutions they belong to.

Latest census data shows fertility is now well above replacement rate

The Office for statistics has released data for 2018 showing that the fertility rate is now well above replacement rate and is at comfortable 2.4, above the 2.1 necessarily for replacement.

The increase in fertility in recent years is largely attributed to women from an immigrant background which has a fertility of 3.2 compared to 1.6 for women without such a background. The same Office has stated that the fertility rate combined with steady immigration will ensure the population of the Federal Republic will continue to rise for the foreseeable future.

The Values Survey for youth shows worrying signs says Ministry of education

The latest values survey for people between the ages of 14 and 18 has many in the ministry of education and the entire government worried. According to the study which was funded by the ministry of education, people in the age group mentioned before believe the following:

-60% say that the concept of innocent until proven guilty should be abolished

-40% say that women should give precedence to men (this opinion is shared 30% of women surveyed)

- 55% agree with the statement the "government is actively trying to suppress traditional values of our society" .

- 60% say the death penalty should be reintroduced

- 40% say that physical punishment, including one that could lead to permanent body harm, is an acceptable form of punishment for those that commit violent crimes (ex: rape, murder).

-20% says that chattel slavery is an acceptable form of punishment

-65% agree that abortion, divorce, adultery and prostitution should be banned.

Worse still the following data was released regarding trust and favorability in public figures:

-30% says they have a favorable view of the President that is tied with the Tamoran Emperor

-25% have a favorable view of King Heydar

- 35% have a favorable view of the Pramorian queen

When it comes to foreign policy, the opinions are:

-30% consider the Tamoran Empire a threat for the Republic, the highest percentage for a Midaranye country. That is lower than the 35% who consider East Moreland, Bakkermaya each a threat, 45% see both Seaforth and Rokkenjima as threats for the Republic. That is despite the fact that these nations have not issued any sanctions or shown hostility towards the Republic.

-75% say they have heard of the Helusian Empire, 50% say it is a correct term to describe the three majority Helusian countries of East Moreland,  Bakkermaya and Seaforth.

-50% say they have watched or read the speech “We Are Not A Problem To Be Handled; A Midaranye Declaration Of Independence” given by the Clysperi Pharaoh as opposed to only 30 who watched or read la latest the state of the Republic annual address.

Furthermore, according to the latest census data approx. 65% of the age bracket 14-18 is of non Slavic background. One MP has called these numbers a disaster and has called on the minister of education to resign. Others have called for Manist religions schools in the country to be closed while others MPs have asked for a complete halt on immigration less “the Republic risks to become MidAranyen- zied”. Parthian MPs though we're happy with the survey saying that the data shows "the country is fast embracing Midaranye values and that is something to be celebrated not feared. In a democracy people are free to have whatever opinions they want".

Major outcry after person accused of murder and rape is set free

Igor Nabriski which has been accused of the murder and rape of three women is to be set be freed after prosecutors apparently mishandled critical evidence and thus cannot be used in court. Furthermore, his lawyer has provided evidence that prosecutors did not respect his rights during the investigation causing him both stress and emotional harm. Mr. Nabriski is set to be released tomorrow and his lawyer has already issued a statement saying that they will sue the prosecutors for damages.

The case has further divided society on ethnic lines. Slavic MPs have stated that the trial was in accordance the constitution which provides defendants with rights which have to be respected and that the defendant remains innocent until proven guilty.

On the other hand, one Parthian MP called the trial and judicial proceedings "the perfect example of everything that is wrong in this country: criminals are protected while victims and their families are made to pay because I have no doubt this monster will win in court and force all of us, including the victims' families, to pay him millions. Anywhere else in Midaranye such a case would see the man either enslaved or get the death sentence.  One only needs to look at how Clysperis handles these things. This Republic however prefers to go out of its way to protect criminals. "

Many in the Parthian community are asking people to protest against the court's s decision with police expecting crowds of at least 40.000 to show up during the weekend.
