Following the first stage of negotiations at the CNN's annual conference a number of changes have been implemented within the organisation. A summary of those changes are presented below.

1. Nations now are entitled to with-hold military or criminal intelligence if doing so would endanger ongoing operations. While previously this had been an unwritten rule this has now been formalised.

2. CNN citizens will now be exempt visas if their trip is 120 days long or less. This is an extension of 30 days however Visa free travel now only applies to journeys booked 72 hours in advance.

3. The jointly produced CNN imagining satellite known as Super-Eye has now been given safeguards ensuring no CNN nation can utilise it for operations without the approval of all other members.

4. All Science Council projects that result in patents will now be made the equal property of all member nations.

5. An all nations officer training centre shall be opened in East Moreland to promote cross-military co-operation.

The conference shall continue with the matter of Security being discussed next.

Upon its foundation the CNN put in the heart of its charter a desire to improve the educational opportunities for all citizens. Today the organisation has put in place two schemes which will allow young people accessing higher education to take part in life enhancing oppurtunities designed to better equip them for a successful future.

The first of these opportunities will allow more CNN citizens than ever before to take up a chance to study abroad. At the heart of the CNN is the idea of friendship, the CNN already has all our youngsters learning at least one other foreign language and now through short term study abroad schemes those at University can easily transfer their course overseas for either a few weeks, a whole year or their entire course. We believe this will see even more students taking up the chance to spend some time living in another nation and exposing themselves to new cultures, ideas and making friends.

The second opportunity will be a series of summer schools focusing on STEM subjects. Each year the CNN members will host a summer school dedicated to either Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths. These will be determined by rotation and will allow students from all four nations to work on collaborative projects designed to help them gain vital experience relevant to their future careers as well as working with people from across Mundus. The first of these Summer Schools shall take place in 2021.

It is the CNN's hope that students of the four member nations will find these opportunities both useful and exciting

Today the CNN has reached a decision to put in place two policies regarding stances on criminal proceedings.

IGNORE THE RED......I'VE MIXED THINGS UP FROM THE CONFERENCE AND WE NEED TO CLARIFY The first will be, upon their return home, to create new laws making it illegal for any person to support businesses utilising slavery. As a result of this new policy laws will be enacted in each nation that would see a person within that nations territory offering goods, materials or services to a business, service or individual which utilises slavery arrested, put on trial and if found guilty punished for supporting slavery.

The second policy to be put in place will see a three step approach to the matter of former Seleucid occupiers of the Commonwealth of the Unified Iwi. Those accused of being involved in crimes against humanity during this time shall be sought actively in all CNN nations. Once discovered they shall, within the remit of the CNN charter, be extradited for trial in the Commonwealth. Should they be found outside of the CNN a request, supported by each member of the CNN, to extradite the accused to the Commonwealth will be made. Should this request be denied for any reason then an offer shall be made in which a tribunal headed by a judge of each CNN nation will sit in judgement of the accused at Ostlake in East Moreland with sentences to be carried out under East Moreland law. Should this request be denied then all CNN nations shall suspend extradition agreements with the nation refusing the extradition until such a time as a trial has taken place.

In the coming hours the Commonwealth will be requesting that  Lt. Yanni Tawfeek and those arrested upon his arrival in Rokkenjima be the first to be extradited under this new CNN Tribunal.

OOC - I was told questions were being taken enjoy

Roisin Shaughnessy, Achkaerin News Service.

"Concerning the statement just made in regards to the Tribunal, there are three points I'd like to touch one. First according to your statement this tribunal will sit in judgement of those accused of Crimes against humanity during the Seleucid occupation of the Iwi, that is the stated jurisdiction. Now in terms of Lt Twafeek this fits, he was accused of such crimes that is the basis on which he was arrested in Kaitaine and extradited to the Iwi. My question in relation to this is to do with the other Seleucid held by Rokkenjima these are people whose crimes of aiding and abetting Lt Twafeek's escape from custody and murder are not within the jurisdiction of the tribunal, so by what right does the tribunal claim authority claim to try those people? Because I assume from the statement "the Commonwealth will be requesting that  Lt. Yanni Twafeek and those arrested upon his arrival in Rokkenjima be the first to be extradited under this new CNN Tribunal." that the intention is to have the tribunal do so.

The second question in relation to this tribunal concerns what might be seen as a conflict of interest - three of the four CNN nations[1] are signatories to the Uppsalla Convention. As the Seleucid occupation of the Iwi is still close enough in terms of the passage of time for potential accused to still be serving in the Seleucid military - so in the hypothetical event that a Seleucid soldier were to violate that convention and that same soldier were to be one those being sought for crimes committed during the occupation of the Iwi, admittedly this is only a relatively short term problem what would the CNN's course of action be in the event of both the tribunal and the Uppsalla CAC having an interest in the same individual?

Finally the three steps outlined seem to assume that a nation is willing to extradite and most would likely be willing to. However what is the position if the nation being asked to extradite says that they are willing to extradite but not to the death penalty?"
 1. OOC - UC isn't according to the treaty topic though I'm sceptical as it seems odd
