In the Spirit of St. Lazarus (Luuxland & ES)
« on: August 29, 2018, 03:26:50 PM »

The Ecclesiastical State

To:- Prince Leuk I

On behalf of his Holiness Pope Peter II, let me just first congratulate Your Majesty and the People of Luuxland for finally achieving true freedom and justice from these Tyrannic Pagan rulers, which has been an ongoing struggle on your part for over 7 centuries. Our shared history between our peoples hasn't always been on the brighter side, with the unfortunate pursecutions that were commited on the Anabaptist community in the name of our Lord, in which the Holy Fathers in recent times adressed and sincerely apologised for, even asking for God's forgiveness for all the wickedry that would have occured and hopefully it is felt the same in Luuxland.

This is however a time of reconciliation and dialogue between the Catholic Church, her sister denominations and other non-Christian faith which is crucial for the betterment of the entirety of Mundus. The Ecclesiastical State has thus recently, with full support from both the House of Representatives and the Senate in Parliament, recognised the legitimacy of the Principality of Luuxland and its people, whom we've supported against the tyranny which has been no better in respecting the rule of law and human rights; it is with our hope that these leaders will face a fair trial and later be punished accordingly to their actions.

Alongside my competent staff I shall take the opportunity to pay a visit to the Principality in the hopes of establishing proper relations with His Majesty and his nation, in the hopes that cooperation will exist through renewed faith in friendship and mutual trust. It is with our hope that his Majesty sees this as a fruitful offer.

Take Care and God Bless,

François Soubois, Prime Minister of the Ecclesiastical State

To: Prime Minister Soubois,

His Grace, Prince Leuk was overjoyed at the arrival of your communication. The Principality welcomes with wide open arms the support, and recognition of our long-estranged cousins, and their esteemed rulers. In the name of the Prince, Princess,  Tanist, and the Advisory; Luuxland extends an offer of it's highest hospitalities to you and any other member of your government in the future. We would like to suggest arriving first to the port city of Sahtella. Among the denizens of the city is a sizeable community of ethnic Ecclesiasticals who were, due to the political situation, previously cut off from His Holiness' fold. I can think of no better place for your initial delegation to be received!

Upon the arrival of of your delegation, you may consider all borders, and ports belonging to the Prince to be open for the people of E.S. to freely come and go.

The first elections of the Advisory's Lower-House are set to occur on the 1st of September. This, as you will understand will put a short delay on our own delegation being sent to the E.S. as all facets of government are focused on filling their various domestic responsibilities. I am told the Prince himself has expressed a desire to travel to your land himself, or at the very least send Her Majesty the Princess. Both, however, will be concerned with the First Congregation of the Advisory and working to keep their son, Tanist Leuk in his position over the coming days of our infant nation.

I await your correspondence on the details of your visit!

Gahd stay weh ðyuh!
---Rahbin MakRyle, Interim Arch-Advisor---

It took time but most certainly expected all along from the Ecclesiastical point of view as the Luuxlanders recently forced their old Pagan Overlords to dethrone themselves from power and subsequently crowned a new figure to become their new Prince, after years of hardships and pursecution the local population had to endure from never being totally accepted by anyone else for centuries, though now it seems the first actual state with a majority of Anabaptist believers was formed and one could only guess what was to happen afterwards, though for now it seemed to be mainly positive attributes and it would have had to remain so as much as possible. This is why Prime Minister Francois Soubois felt that it was the Ecclesiastical State's obligation to answer the call to stand by a Christian nation whilst maintaining a friendship and future alliance that had already been cultivated in the making as the Church state actively supported for the Luuxlandeer's right to establish their own kind of nation without being pursecuted for it, sharing ancestral blood mattered as much as everything else.

Truth be told like many others there, he didn't know a lot about the Anabaptists and especially the Mennoite branch of this Christian denomination, which is why during the flight he continued reading and researching as much possible to show some confident knowledge and not act like some sort of ignorant, highborn fool that could've been perceived as such otherwise although he expected that his hosts would showcase how the unique Luuxlander culture had developed there for centuries ever since they emigrated from the Ecclesiastical State to escape the controversial pursecutions which occured, which belonged to the darker areas of the Catholic Church's history although those times belonged to another dimension and now especially since the Vatican II reforms from the 1960s, the attitude and total outlook on the world had changed considerably, focusing on dialogue and cooperation between diverse sets of faiths and creeds. he was particularly interested in meeting with the Royal Family and its head Prince Leuk who was certainly quite young to be elected to the throne; as long as he had good advisors around his presence and having a clear and solid mind, he would surely make Luuxland greater than ever before.

The Prime Minister and his delegation would apparently arrive in the Port City of Sahtella where the majority of the Ecclesiastical Catholic community would exist, which surely sounded exciting and interesting indeed. At least there existed no tension between the various Christian communities there according to the official reports Soubois received a few days prior as part of his preparations. In any case, slowly but surely the executive plane landed and came to a halt at the Sahtella Airport runway, taxied its way to the myriad of hosts, flashing cameras and a spectacular crowd filled with cheers and happiness as they eagerly welcomed His Excellency. With everything in order, the plane door was opened and without a shadow of doubt exited and went down the stairs which was covered with a red carpet to make the entrance much more grand than it needed to be.

He stood in front of his hosts and stretched out his hand for a shake and greeted.

Arch-Advisor Brandahn Riatasun stood ready to greet the Prime Minister. With a bow and a handshake he turned to look at the cameras. "Welcome!" Riatasun said with a smile. I trust your flight was reasonably comfortable. I wish the Airport would have been in better shape. My brother, The Prince sends his regards and warmest welcomes for you to the country. He's currently away in East Moreland meeting with King David III there. But, he'll be back by the time we reach Sahvannah."

He leads the prime minister to the cavalcade where a soldier opens the door of a  dark green luxury sedan adorned with the flag of the E.S. "we'll be taking this to the Cathedral of St. James. It's the center of Luuxlander Catholicism, and until now has been the seat of the Catholic Church in lieu of communication with the Vatican. Father Clehm UhpGdarre is the acting Archbishop of the local Church, and he was adamant that the first of our talks should be held in the cathedral." Brandahn walks around the car and gets in the far side of it. "The Advisory agreed to his suggestion, because we felt it was the most neutral ground possible here for our initial discussions."

A soldier shuts Brandahn's door and motions the members of Soubois's party toward other, identical sedans. "After the talks we invite you to tour the city, it's the largest in the country. When the Prince returns,  we'll be boarding a private ship to sail up to the capital where you'll be invited to the Plantation to meet  my brother and his family. If we agree to anything that he needs to sign off on, he'll do it in the big church there... you know. for symbolism's sake."

The cavalcade moves swiftly through the city, there's still things scattered all about the streets from the independence celebration. people lined the streets, waving and cheering as they passed on the main street. The city seemed almost to have two natures. Some of its buildings looked brand-new and luxurious, but between two of those would sit a decaying derelict of a building that used to be used for lord-knows-what.  Sahtella was the economic center of the region, but in the decades following the market crash, it had been hit the hardest as smaller cities around it sent economic refugees to flood its streets. During the final years of occupation many of its buildings had been hit by missiles fired at businesses that openly supported secession. In the distance the ruins of once great sky-scraper stabbed the heavens like a giant tree broken-off at the top.

Soon, the Cathedral of St. Thomas comes into view. It's not an ancient building, but off to the building's right stand a stone belfry (supposedly left over from some long-gone older cathedral). The modern building looks to be made entirely of glass. It sits off to itself in its own compound separated from the city be a sizeable park. The park being filled with people.

The party exists the cars, takes some pictures. The Arch-Advisor introduces the PM to the local Archbishop, and then all present walk into the church. revealing that the glass walls are in fact one-way mirrors. From within the building you can see through the exterior walls and see the city, park, and sky around you. there, where the pulpit usually stands beneath a backlit crucifix, is a long table with the flags of both nations lining the wall behind them. the pews are all labeled for major news-outlets, but are empty. "They'll be allowed in after the initial talks to cover the story and ask questions." Says the Archbishop. "The Archbishop here is quite influential in the area. we're allowing him to sit in on the talks because he is running unopposed for one of Sahtella's two seats in the Lower-House of the Advisory." Brandahn whispers to Soubois.

The chairs at the table are pulled out, and there are name tags sitting in front of the assigned seats.

"Thank you for receiving me in person, Arch-Advisor Riatasun. I'm sure this airport will be in a much better shape once you involve the Ecclesiastical State hehe." he said continuing the chit-chat as he was shown to the convoy instructed to take them to the Cathedral of St. James which was apparently the holy centre of the large and influential Catholic minority. "Ah yes the Festival of Sails, what a wonderful way of meeting new friends from all over Mundus, courtesy of the East Morelanders whom we consider to be our close friends and allies in the north, we're after all in the same alliance known as the CNN. In any case I'm looking forward to the upcoming talks, as we have so much ground to cover and agreements to facilitate, as well as to get to know more about the country. The Holy Father sends his best wishes and blessings as he's currently undertaking an Apostolic Visit in Attica, likewise with Governor-General Emilé Fava who happens to be in the Festival of Sails as well, which is even better I think."

A special person also too the opportunity to present herself, "Pleased to finally meet you Arch-Advisor Riatasun, I'm Mother Arilda, current Mother General Superior of the Association of the Immaculate Heart, my aim here is to formally establish our worldwide Order and Charity in Luuxland by your permission of course, as I'm sure that they could accomplish a great many deeds if given the chance. I happen to be one of the former mentors of His Holiness in his much younger days, so he has my full confidence" she said as the convoy steadily was cruising through the streets, attracting a large crowd of various onlookers of all creeds and faiths, cheering and chanting in joy. The city gave a mixed feeling of both modern and old, clearly Luuxland had gone through massive changes in the recent decades bringing them to the point of independence when they finally got rid of the old Power Yoke. "Impressive looking stature of a Cathedral I must say Brandahn, the glass gives it a fresh vibrant aura" the Prime Minister complimented.

As the Arch-Advisors escorted the Ecclesiastical delegation in the Cathedral they had chance to meet Archbishop Clehm UhpGdarre, who surely impressed them enough at first glance. Prime Minister Soubois whispered back to the Arch-Advisor, "I think the Holy Father made an excellent choice in choosing Clehm here, he'll do wonders for the Church I'm sure of it." he ended as they proceeded to head inside the meeting room and sitting on their assigned seats. Once everyone present were supposed to be there, the doors were closed and the talks could finally begin. "I would like to first congratulate on behalf of the Ecclesiastical State, the newly achieved independence you Luuxlanders rightfully deserve, that ought to make an applause eligible isn't that so?" he began before everyone started to clap their hands in unison. "Since an independent nation in this modern day of age needs to soon as possible get involved in the international sphere, the Ecclesiastical State represented by myself and my most competent staff, is eager to listen to what you have to say and what you desire, first and foremost. Oh and where are my manners, this is Mother Arilda..." he let Arilda present herself and the ambition to establish the AIH.

"We welcome the AIH into Luuxland. I'm sure that Arcbishop UhpGdarre would be more than willing to work with you directly in establishing the order's presence here. As I understand it, The church own quite a number of unused buildings in the city that could be converted to a local headquarters for your order, Mother Arilda." the Archbishop shook his head with assurance. "Many of them have previously been used as shelters for the refugees, poor, and hungry as it is. They would at best be modest beginnings, but it is what he have free to give at the time being." said Clehm with a smile of excitement.

"I feel, the next thing which must be established is Embassies in each of the respective nations. I am sure you've heard of the Prince's 'Universal Invitation', we ask that the E.S. establish its primary Embassy there upon completion of the diplomatic village. As per the invintation the ES is free to deploy its own small security unit, a maximum of 140 armed personnel (a sufficient amount for the given compound), or you may choose to allow Luuxland to provide security. Of course you may set up consulates wherever you feel is most beneficial to do so."  Brandahn says with confidence that nothing he has stated is a controversial demand.

"I might, if i may I ask, Arch-Advisor if that 140 armed personnel must be split among the embassy and the consulate?" asks the Archbishop.

"Ah, most certainly not. That cap lies only on the Embassy compounds themselves. The consulates may maintain a separate security-force that doesn't count towards that limit. the purpose of the 140-man unit-cap is to ensure that unmanageable numbers of foreign military are not 150 meters from each other and the Capitol if their nations turn hostile to one another." Brandahn replies softly with a laugh, "While we expect this kind of thing to be unheard of, we want to ensure Sahvannah doesn't become a site of international standoffs, while also ensuring all parties feel sufficiently secure."

"We would also like to discuss an arms-deal" begins Advisor Rahbin MakRyle, who you remember was the interim Arch-Advisor who you comunicated with to set up this meeting. "Luuxland has a long coast stretching from Nordmar to the Matilda Channels (Pending map update). We wish to establish first and foremost a Navy capable of patrolling this region until we can become established and expand it. Our land forces are also grossly under-equipped and technologically backward. While we don't expect to become a world power in a our first month of existing, we would at least like to enjoy the region to view us as competent."

"Yes, it would be nice indeed. Smugglers have already been spotted using Luuxland's unestablished state to funnel in contraband to the continent. they've been allowed to freely move with only the occasional commandeered fishing ship to offer any resistance." Says the Arch-Advisor as he shifts his papers around a bit. " I believe that's all the things we wish to open with, Prime Minister Soubois. Also we will be compiling information on all of Luuxland's top-people in the factbooks when the results of the Election are finalized. I know knowing more about the people you're dealing with would be more beneficial." They all silent down as they await the replies...

As Prime Minister Soubois listened intensively to their ideas he prepared to show a document the Ecclesiasticals beforehand already made. Mother Arilda became overjoyed as her ffer of establishing the AIH in Luuxland was well-received. "Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen; this is a proposed treaty my most competent cabinet composed prior to this state visit, and it seems it would already confirm the Luuxlander points."

Each member of the Advisory looked over the proposed document. they all made notes, and comments to themselves as they read it. Brandahn lifted the paper and said: "Prime Minister, this treaty is almost perfect s far as we are conscerned, but we feel we need to offer something in exchange for the stipend offered. We, the members of the advisory, would like to offer the Ecclesiastical military unlimited, and unhindered access to Luuxlander waters. Also, we offer that the town of Farroport (which lies in the countries southernmost point in the northern Matilda Channel) be open to the Ecclesiastical Navy. Consider this an offer to ammend the treaty to include limited fleet-basing rights. To station, or moor E.S. ships should be considered, by default, granted by the Principality unless otherwise stated. And the town of Farroport will, aswell, be open to E.S. Servicemen without need of passport or visa." Bradahn awaited the reply when UhpGdarre spoke up.

"What sport shall we play? I wager football/soccer would be the answer. That is unless E.S. has a thriving baseball scene!" the Archbishop declared with a smile.

OOC: Instead of Prime Minister Soubois it's PRESIDENT (for 2018) Alain Brasseur. Apologies for any inconveniences.

President Alain Brasseur was more than pleased and grateful enough to hear such generosity offered by the Luuxlanders, perhaps he underestimated the 'love' and 'passion' which existed between their respective peoples. "The Ecclesiastical delegation here today can't thank thee enough for such wonderful offers and suggestions coming from our Brother People. I'm sure the Federal Assembly and the Ecclesiastical People would want to provide the protection and care Luuxland righfully needs from those who would dare challenge her sovereignty; As for the type of sport, Baseball does definitely sound reasonable and interesting, would need Pichard's second opinion probably hehe."

"Everything regarding the treaty looks good to us." said Arch-Advisor Branahn as he looked over the document and passed it to the other member's sat at the table. "I'm sure Prince Leuk will be over-joyed at the terms." as he handed the docucument to Advisor MakRyle, Rahbin let out a chuckle and said in Luuxlandish "Puhrdiklee thah bot baut thah Baesbahl fuhrauu!" The Luuxlander's let out a laugh at this. Prince Leuk happened to be a huge Baseball fan and they all secretly feared he would attempt to play on the national team himself!

coming out of the laugh Advisor Eimoss Riatasun spoke up. "Now, I know for a fact my nephew will sign this agreement as is, but as I'm sure you are all aware the Advisory nor the Arch-Advisor here currently has authority to sign it. We agree to the terms, but as explained when you arrived the Prince himself will be doing the actual signing when we get to Sahtehlla." Brandahn shook his head in Affirmation "I hope the President is still fine with this arrangement. As for the arms-deal, You may choose to deal with us, or the Prince himself if that's something you still wish to deal with on a state-level. On that issue, Luuxland must follow your lead."

President Brasseur had just finished a phone call as the Luuxlanders were laughing at thir own joke. "I would just like to emphasize on the upcoming referena regarding this fine base proposal of yours, hopefully the Citizens will vote for what's the righ thing to do. Also, even if it were to be approved establishing bases in a foreign country and moving personnel as well as Equipment takes a considerable amount of time to do so, just a friendly heads' up." he said Before continuing on another topic.

"My friends, I've come to the conclusion that now may be the time to adress something else of great importance for both of us; You see the catholic Queen of Attica in Tamora is a great ally and friend to the Church and the Holy Father. She's currently in a tight spot as her Life and head depends on whether she could find a suitabke husband and king-consort to aid ruling Attica alongside herself; to make the long story short, I wonder if it were possible for Luuxland to act as a close safe haven in case the Tamoran Emperor decides her time's up? The people of the Ecclesiastical State and the Holy Father would be very much appreciative and grateful; her family we couldn't stop in preventing their tragic executions but this time, the last member of the Attican Royal Family's head shall not be placed on a spike and the realm not turning into that vile ideology known as Manism…" the President paused Before letting the Luuxlander allies respond.

"Attica? That isn't very far from here is it?" Brandahn asked the Archbishop.

"Well, relative to the E.S. Itself, no. But, I wouldn't walk it." said the holy-man. "Attica is their coastal kingdom, and the only Christian one I believe." he said looking over at the president.

"I take it the Emperor would not take kindly to us offering refuge for her-" Advisor Eimoss was cut short by the approach of a soldier.

"The Prince's aide is calling from East Moreland. Please, excuse this interruption." Said the Arch-Advisor as he answered the call in Luuxlandish. The Luuxlanders at the table all made faces of concern and and spoke in hushed voices as the Archadvisor spoke over the phone. After the phone call ended, Brandahn adjusted himself and spoke again.

"It seems the meeting with King David has gone well. He is sending us a young girl to oversee the reconstruction efforts. But, apparently a dignitary from some other country has... died in mid sentence." he looked at the table with a concerned face. "Is that a normal thing to happen at conventions?"

"Did the aide say he would talk to the Prince about the Queen of Attica?" asked the Prince's uncle.

"He did, but if I know Leuk, I don't believe for a moment he would deny her entry."

"Maybe he ought to in this situation. Our security forces are still in disarray. I don't know this emperor but we're certainly in range of them, and an assassination would all it would take to set this country into chaos. Not to mention make us look incompetent!"

"Can we deny our sister refuge? she has already lost her family! the least we can do is offer her a friend!" said the Archbishop in protest."

"Gentleman! Gentleman! Calm down." Brandahn interrupted the debate. "Mr. President, as you can see, the Advisory is in a state of disagreement in this issue. I do not have the authority to grant such a sensitive individual political asylum at this time..." he looked around at the members around the table. "But, last I checked, ships were considered to be the soil of the nation which owns them. And we just granted permission for Ecclesiastical ships to moor in Farroport." the advisor which had objected began to speak but was hushed by the Arch-Advisor. "If the ES were to, i don't know... have such a person of interest on board one of their ships in the Harbor, and didn't tell us. I don't think there's much we could say about it. And should the Prince in the near future offer her refuge here, and she just happened to be a few yards off of the pier by coincidence. I don't think he would find much to object over." Brandahn smiled. "completely a hypothetical situation, you understand."

Brasseur was relieved, the situation regarding Queen Arpine wasn't completely lost after all. "We're glad to hear that a solution could be found amidst this trivial situation we have in front of us; We're currently undergoing discussions as well with your Celtic Protectorate neighbours who're situated right beside Tamora and could perhaps be the primary country to seek shelter, considering they're our friends as well and wouldn't mind assisting the Pope's friends. In any case at least we can rest a bit from this topic which has caused a bit of headache within our circle back home in ES...The Holy Father's at least discussing the future with her and for the moment it's looking positive as long as everything goes according to plan...

Anything else you wish to bring up or it's time to continue the show as we speak?"

After awaiting to see if the Ecclesiasticals had any further business.

"Very well." said Brandahn. We'll finish this meeting off with the press release then we'll bring up the  cavalcade for the tour of the city as we move to the port to board a ship  for Sahvannah. There, hopefully,  the Prince and Princess along with the other members of the Lower-House will meet us at the Plantation." he looked around for any objections, and when seeing none motioned for the soldiers to open the doors for the News Outlets to flood in for the brief (OOC- each of us will take one post to RP the questions.)

"We have, for the past several hours been in open discussion regarding international relations between the Ecclesiastical State of Christ and The Principality of Luuxland. We, the members of the Upper-House of the Advisory have been granted by Prince Leuk I certain rights and permissions regarding the diplomacy. We have, I daresay, used those permissions in their fullest extent to be sure to establish the strongest possible foundation for the friendship and cooperation between our two states, and the security and influence of Luuxland. I would like to close this opening statement by thanking President Alain Brasseur, Mother Arilda of the AIH, and their entourage for making the time to come to our huumble country for these discussions, and for their openness to all of our requests and suggestions. We have agree to an initial Treaty, one that will be released to the public via the Ahfess uhp thah Happenen (AutH) as soon as it is presented to the Prince for the first time for his review." the Arch-Advisor closed and Advisor-Archbishop Clehm UhpGdarre  declared questions open.

The LLR Media company was the first to pose questions:

"Arch-Advisor," began the Journalist "As we all understand the City of Sahtella in which we are all standing was the hardest hit by the fighting during the independence bid. Will the E.S. be offering aid in the reconstruction in the country?"

"The E.S. particulary the AIH under Mother Arilda have expressed interest in opening a branch of their charitable organization here in Luuxland. This will indeed come to great benefit of the city. In Addition, we have received word from the Prince himself that King David of East Moreland has offered and sent one of his own to oversee many aspects of reconstruction. With the aid of both of these new Friends, Luuxland will begin to heal far quicker than it ever would by itself."

"Arch-Advisor, what is the government's response to the election of Jaekon Fesset to the Lower-House? The Province of Wuudvyne has lowest population of the country, but is home to almost all of the Yeeree population, and now those folks have used their influence to elect a man who openly declares himself a Republican. The Prince swore to uphold the initial election results, but will the Republican be allowed to remain?"

"My Brother has kept his promise to honor the lower-house's results. The Yeeree do make up a considerable portion of Wuudvyne's population but they are not the majority, so the insinuation that they have sown a seed of conflict by electing a Republican is false. They showed sympathy to us against their own countrymen, We will in return uphold our duty to treat them as brethren. The Advisory, nor the Plantation will be threatened by a single member whom the rest disagree with."

"What is the Status of the Principality's return visit to the the E.S?"

"Currently, the thought is for the Advisory to name ambassadors for the E.S. and other states between tomorrow and the overmorrow. The plan is for Princess Sehrra to follow in the Ambassador's wake to the E.S. The Prince wished to accompany her, but it currently is unlikely. She, however, has been adamant in her desire to see the country and particularly the northern areas. The Lower-House will be naming ambassadors while we accompany our guests to Sahvannah."

"Final question for the Advisory: What is the status of the Arms deal and the equipping of the Martial Arms?"

"We will be entering a close friendship and state of cooperation with the E.S. They have expressed an open-mind at arming us and engaging in some sort of deal. Whether that deal will be between State and State or State and Corporations remains to be seen. I feel they wish to discuss those issues more in detail with the Prince himself and we respect that."

"President Brasseur,  The Catholic population has been eager to hear whether and when the Church in Luuxland will be welcomed into the fold. Has the Pope expressed any opinion regarding this?"

"Luuxland is situated rather centrally between the all of the continents of Mundus, and we are the only country other than Andvari, and The Iwi situated on the Matilda Channels. Does the E.S. intend to make any use of Luuxland's strategic location for it's foreign influence and operations now that the two nations have expressed a desire for cooperation?"

LLR ends its questions and the floor opens for the E.S. media.

(OOC- you don't have to RP this if you don't have any questions to ask.)

Brasseur sipped from a glass of water before speaking. "I'm actually not the person to ask in regards to religious issues, although it's already with great certainty that the Catholics in Luuxland have always been recognised and welcomed into the fold no matter the circumstances. Unless I missed something, there should be no reason whatsoever why the case would be of the opposite nature".

"I would like to first remind those gathered here today that I'm speaking on behalf of the entire Federal Council and thay title 'President' is merely symbolic in nature for 1 year, otherwise all members are equal and no one's beneath one another. Which is why I would answer that the Ecclesiastical State will never pursue imperialistic policies and try to take advantage of the nations around or close by the Matilda channels out of morality's sake and in respect to our fellow allies the Iwi who're more than capable enough to act as the channel's supreme guardian. What I can comment as of now if the upcoming referendum in the Ecclesiastical State gets approved, namely the citizens giving the green light for a naval base, it'll primarily aid in the protection of the Principality and give extra support to the CNN alliance as a whole within that region."

It was the turn of the ES media.

"Arch-Advisor, how come the Principality allowed the possibility of an Ecclesiastical naval base in one of the coastal cities when one could've simply settled with a defensive alliance and rely on actual neighbours ike the Iwi in the regionfor said national protection, who happen to be Ecclesiastical allies and thus would be perfectly alright too?"

"Arch-Advisor, how would you assess the contribution and significance the Catholic Church has given to the independence movement throughout the years which finally founded the current Principality?"

"The Prince saw political, economic, and diplomatic advantages to inviting the E.S. Navy to Farroport. The town being impoverished along with its surrounding province, is a result of centuries of neglect and isolation from the rest of the country due to a lack of connecting infrastructure or the natural lanes of transportation that bless the North-Western parts of the country. Inviting foreign business, investment, and protection does nothing but benefit the local economy, especially given Luuxland's inability to achieve any of those three to a sufficient degree in the immediate future. The E.S. was the preferred partner in this due to the Ancestral ties we share, and the religious connection. We saw an opportunity for this isolated community to benefit from the infrastructure and foreign business that comes with the arrival of a naval installation. An installation our close neighbors would have no reason to establish, nor do we have the capability to do so. The Principality itself benefits from the E.S.'s ability to immediately respond in the event of foreign aggression, the availability of the more experienced military to aid in training, The wealth brought in by tourists visiting and servicemen stationed there,  and the obvious effect of dissuading our former overlords from attempting to re-invade.

Even if the E.S. council votes not to establish a permanent military presence in the bay, its open status, we hope, will be inviting to E.S. investors and tourists. Thus, boosting local and national economy. The town will retain its 'excepted' status regarding the Principality's generally strict border control regardless if the council accepts our offer or not. But, we believe allowing the E.S. to set up a true presence in the area would benefit it equally as much as it does Luuxland.

"Sahtella is the economic heart of the otherwise agricultural Principality. Sahtella is also the heart of Catholicism in Luuxland. Throughout the years of occupation, Sahtella was Sahvannah's sister in being a center for the revolution. Sahtella likewise funded and suffered most of the cost of the war; financially, physically, and also in human-lives. Catholics fought alongside Anabaptists, and even when the doctrine of total pacifism which is held by so many of us Anabaptist  prevented many from physically fighting back, when the enemy bore down on us, Catholics defended those who could not themselves. As for the Church itself, I don't think either church can be oversold in their contributions to the well-being, both spiritually and physically of the people. And the contributions of those Luuxlanders that are ethnically Ecclesiastical, their contributions likewise cannot be over stated. It was in no small part that these talks with the E.S. were brought about partially due as thanks for their sacrifice and dedication."

With the closing of the press briefing, the diplomatic party entered the cars that were awaiting them and began to ride through the city in a scenic route toward the harbor. a few of the cars broke off from the procession to take a more direct route.

"They're going on ahead to the capital to deal with the unfortunate events from yesterday morning. It appears that Republican advisor caused quite a stir in the Lowerhouse's first meeting." the Arch-Advisor said to the President. "I'm told the final banquet in East Moreland is soon to happen, after which the Prince and Princess will be on their way immediately. If they arrive in the Capitol after us, they'll meet us at the Plantation instead of the harbor. If the weather permits it should be a quick sail up the coast, but if it turns sour we'll be forced to add an hour or two to our travel time by taking the rivers. If that happens traffic will be halted along the route to Sahvannah to expedite the trip."

The Arch-Advisor was looking through the window of that same broken skyscraper the President had seen on his first trip through the city. "The Princess was raised in that one there," He said pointing it out. "It's called 'Marxtoyur'. Her father was in there when a missile struck it. I'm told she had just left the penthouse to go out and take a walk, and saw the whole thing on her way back." He looked to see the president's reaction if there was any. "We've been trying to decide whether to rebuild it, or stabilize and reinforce the ruin as a monument..

"I'd say we handled the noisy press quite well and looking forward to meeting the Prince and Princess, I'm sure more ideas and suggestions will pop up. Brasseur listened intentively to the Arch-Advisor's tale of the ruined sky scraper itself which was all but tragic and felt compelled to show solidarity. "I'm so sorry to hear about that, I hope her father is resting in Peace as we speak; There's a possibility for the Ecclesiastical State to aid with either reconstruction of the skyscraper or the process of turning it into a monument, whatever the people of Luuxland wishes to proceed." the President said.

The LCS Creek Cricket

The cars arrived at the docks and boarded a seeminly old Steam-Ship, but it became apparent that it was actually fueled by diesel. Something that became apparent as it pulled out from the harbor with a thick initial cloud of black smoke bellowing from its smoke stacks. The giant wheel turned and slapped the water as the ship got under way.

"Good news," said the captain of the ship as he approached the politicians, "The storm has missed our sea-route so we'll be riding the coast to Sahvannah. at worst it'll be a little rougher than usual, but the weather service has cleared us as all clear, Arch-Advisor"

"Any word from the Capitol regarding the Lower-House?" Brandahn asked.

"Nothing has happened in Sahvannah; their waiting on the Prince to tell them what to do. But the Martial Arm has been forced to send personnel to Wuudvyne, seems some protests are going on there. Nothing violent or problematic."

the captain was dismissed an the party enjoyed the scenery of the Luuxland coast. Very few settlements dotted the shore, and those that did were little more than fishing villages. Most towns were situated along the banks of the rivers. Sahvannah and Sahtella were the only significant ports in the country, and Sahvannah was tiny compared to Sahtella.  Not even truly set on the shore, the town was instead situated just inside the mouth of a very wide and deep river. A rocket launched from the Creek Cricket and a response flew up and exploded in the same shade of green as the first. The ship turned hard and sailed up into the mouth, slowing down as it fought the river.

The sun was setting as they arrived and the city's lights all came on as the ship pulled up and dropped anchor and was tied to the quay. Cars of the same make, model, and color as those that were rode through Sahtella pulled up as the gangplank was dropped.

"Mr. President, I am told that the Prince is currently attending the banquet tonight. As such we'll be making our way to the Plantations  tomorrow (OOC- at the first moment I can get him back from E.M.) These cars will be taking you to the finest hotel the capital has to offer. As for me, I must go deal with the situation regarding the Lower House. Capt. Jehrrod here is the head of your Luuxland security detail. He has a direct line to any member of the Advisory and the military. If you require anything he will be available. I am told the Hotel has prepared a grand meal of local cuisine for you. Tommorrow I will come to bring you to the Plantation to await the Prince."

Brandahn bowed and entered a different car and it sped off with its hidden police lights flashing from under the tinted windows and grille.

Jehrrod opened the door to the car for the President and two of his companions and then set himself in the front passenger. The Car brought them to an older looking building where they were ushered into a dining room with a table covered in food and the staff standing in attention.

(OOC- if I can't get Leuk away from E.M. in the next couple days, is it possible to do the meeting here as if it's after the banquet? or do we just wait until that thing ends?)

President Brasseur was pleased, thanking Jehrrod, with the dining arrangement which was held in a old yet grand building, and was equally so beforehand with a Beautiful tour of the Luuxlander coast, As the day almost turned into evening though a suitable meal of high quality would do after a long day of pertaining to pesky journalists and their inquisitative questioning. He noticed that the Luuxlanders were busy taking care of any miniscule ongoing crisis that seemed to be happening during his visit, hopefully these would be taken care of as soon as spossible. As Brasseur and his staff were waiting for the food to be served, he took the opportunity to have a small chat with this particular fellow. "Would you mind telling me what's going on again, with the lower house and all? As honestly as possible." Brasseur said, not liking when people had to sugar coat tales to make them sound sweeter.

"Nothing to really concern yourself with Mr. President. Luuxland's most inland province elected someone who was openly a radical republican to the Lower-House. An argument broke out over who was to be named  ambassador to the Queendom of Lodja. Princess Sehrra's sister Rachehl was chosen and that particular advisor accused the other's of being the Prince's puppets.  A fist fight broke out and the other advisors threw him out of the door of the capitol building."

"Through the door, actually. Didn't even bother to open it." interrupted one of the waiters

"Regardless, all but two of the Lower-House's advisors were arrested for either assault or vandalism. Their offices have been made into temporary cells. Legally, being convicted of any crime results in a forfeiture of office, but if the Prince removes the republican from office one day after his election... it could cause the people's faith in elections to suffer, and issues with the Yeeree minority in that province, and republican elements around the country. I expect the Prince will drop the charges to diffuse the situation."

"Hmm, I see, sounds painful to be flung through a door like that. Well good luck with that I suppose hehe. Dealing with extremist reactionaries isn't an easy task; The Ecclesiastical State had for a long while during the Cold War dealt with the alluring dangers of communism, especially Communist insurgencies which were funded by the Soviet Union and all the rest of their Red puppets. The latest and hopefully last terrorist attack commited by them was in 1997 but luckily the Special Warfare Unit was there to save the day, think of them as the Ecclesiastical version of the Red Legion, in simple terms. In any case removing a democratically elected official is certainly risky business to conduct, could potentially backfire and yeah...But I'm sure you'll find a way to solve this mess, it'll always do." President Brasseur paused and decided to let his Luuxlander host continue with the chat if he wished to do so.

(OOC Sorry! I've had quite a few hellish weeks at University. I should be back to regular schedule now for a while!)

Brandahn came and gathered the President and his entourage and the group made their way outside the city to a rural collection of houses which lined the highway. Soon the caravan of vehicles came upon a black iron gate of considerable size. Guard houses on either side of it were considerably armed an manned. The gates swung open revealing a dirt road lined with Pecan trees on either side. At the end, an old mansion covered in pillars holding up its roof over the front porch.

With the cars stopping outside the front Door, Brandahn got out and opened the door for the President.

"The Prince and Princess await you inside, Mr. Brasseur. I'll be meeting you at the Church in a few hours. A pleasure travelling with you to this point, sir." And with that Brandahn bowed and turned the President over to the Plantation's security.

They opened the doors of the Plantation House and the Prince was just inside and greeted Brasseur with a Handshake.

"A pleasure to at last meet you, Mr. President." I hope the trip wasn't too hard on you. Welcome to my home."

"None at all Your Highness, thank you for willing to meet my delegation. Please, tell me how did you fare abroad in the Festival of Sail, hope it was fun for everyone attending?" Mr. Brasseur asked as he began to inspect the plantations. "Also, I do Believe there are a few topics you'd like to begin with as well?"
