Pharaoh Emasculates Ri Chŏng-jun

"Come at me, you won't because you and your armed forces are, in fact, impotent," the Pharaoh said in response to the threat issued by Ri Chŏng-jun

"I'm not going to waste much of your time on this one but look at this," she said as she shared her tablet with the CSMC staff interviewing her, "he's going to turn our aircraft carrier into a submarine? He wishes," the Pharaoh said as she giggled, "I invite him to try. Come at me, come for me Ri Chŏng-jun, you won't," she paused, "because you and your armed forces are, in fact, impotent beyond your own borders. Sure, it might be easy subjugating people not legally allowed to possess arms, but you're speaking to a nation which is capable of deploying forces half-way across Mundus. How far from your waters can your navy deploy before running out of fuel? Not very far, I'd imagine," the Pharaoh paused again, "and Nemphis? I've got that plant on lock down as we speak, unlike Kusan Clysperis is capable of turning tragedy into triumph, though a man and civilization as young as you I suppose I can forgive you for being so ignorant to facts, you poor, sweet innocent boy, you."

Pharaoh Akasha Di-‘nh-mi-Re confirmed that Clysperi aid operations would continue unimpeded. "We do not consider the opinions of an ant on foreign soil when we state what we will be doing, do we? So then why would we consider the opinion of a Kusanese ant when we're dealing with the People of Kalasin? Ri Chŏng-jun may have just graduated from his pants to his sister's pants, but he's still a bag of hot air directing his words to anyone willing to listen to them,  and I'm confident that "rust bucket" he criticizes, because "his" nation can only dream of operating an aircraft carrier, packs more technology than the entire armed forces of the DPRK. Why did Rokkenjima get to fight the USR and Warsaw and I'm left with wish.com Stalin and Warsaw? I demand a refund!" she continued with a chuckle.

"In all seriousness," she paused before she continued, "the Royal Clysperi Navy has this all in hand, we're not at threat from the pretender in Kusan. The Kingdom of Clysperis echoes the First Empire that Ri Sang-Hee is the legitimate ruler of Kusan and anything which Ri Chŏng-jun should be wiped away much in the same way one wipes **** from their ***, though that **** probably carries something more useful than the drivel currently being produced by Ri Chŏng-jun. Do it," she said as she looked to the camera, "launch an attack against the Horus and give me a reason to make you question your manhood for the next decade. You won't though, so just shush, because if it comes down to it a single Clysperi air wing would have what you call a military begging for mercy, and the Clysperi would have no room for that. Next question?" the Pharaoh said with a giggle.

Princess Sophia Delivers Message To Pyrettania

Princess Sophia, Grand Duchess of Fukadomari, might have spoken words in her statement from Kusan but her eyes relayed another message.

"I came to Kusan under pre-determined arrangements with Ri Sang-Hee, who has become an asset of the First Empire in a war against your people, to secure the final terms of surrender. I am being treated well, far beyond what I deserve from the glorious soldiers of the DPRK, and urge the First Empire, the Empire of Fusan and the Holy Empire of Achkaerin to heed the words of the Respected Comrade: get out of Kalasin and Southern Cotf Aranye and Onishi hogs, keep your stench on your own continent. If the terms of the Respected Comrade are not adhered to, war will soon commence."

So were the words spake by Princess Sophia, however, as she spoke those words those knowledgeable in Morse Code brought attention to the blinking of the Princess as she recited the script presented to her. "L-I-E-S" was repeated often, as were the words "D-E-C-E-P-T-I-O-N" "T-O-R-T-U-R-E" and "S-Y-G", the later which is shorthand for "stand your ground." These incidents were brought to the attention of the Imperial Palace which released the following statement on the matter:

"The First Empire continues to recognize Ri Sang-Hee as the legitimate leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Kusan and does not recognize the actions of Ri Chŏng-jun as holding any legitimacy. The First Empire demands the immediate release of Princess Sophia and is confident that present naval assets in the Matilda Channels to address the reckless actions Ri Chŏng-jun has chosen to undertake are adequate in any response the Empress should wish to employ. Should any harm befall Princess Sophia, or should our conditions not be met in regards to the Princess, we promise that the retaliation Kusan will face will be an event the DPRK is ever capable of recovering from."

3
The talks in Posan had been going well with Princess Sophia and Ri Sang-Hee finding common ground on many of the matters before them. Information from the Kusanese leader had been forthcoming, with a level of transparency the Princess had not expected and, most importantly, an agreement for full access for Rokkenjiman teams investigating the attack in Pyrettania and just where the fissile material used in the attack had come from. Just as the closing of the meeting had begun one of the Kusanese generals rose, bowed and left the room despite questions from Ri Sang-Hee as to the reason for his departure. In a brief moment, noticing a suitcase underneath the table at which they sat, Ri Sang-Hee lifted Princess Sophia from her seat and ran for the nearest window, driving both of them through it just as an explosion ripped through the room where they had previously been seated moments ago.

"That way," Sang-Hee said through short breaths, fighting the pain of shrapnel which had found itself in her back, "it'll be about 2.5 miles before you reach the border with Kalasin, and you will give the border guards this," she produced a passport-sized document, "it should get you across the border. You tell your people all that we agreed to and what happened here, you understand?" "I can't just leave you he...." Sophia would protest as she began to attempt to assist Sang-Hee to her feet before being pushed away. "Don't live up to the moniker of foolish child in this moment, not after what we accomplished. Run, and do not look back!"

Sophia hesitated for a moment before committing to running, however, she soon found herself on the ground as a Kusanese soldier knocked her off her feet. "We have both Sang-Hee and the Rokkenjiman, they survived the attack," they would say into a microphone before saying, "very well." With breathable cloth bags affixed to both of their heads they would again see the world around them after they'd been transported to a Kusanese prison.

The True Leader Addresses Present Situation, Promises "Vindication"

Respected Comrade Ri Chŏng-jun, having been declared Supreme Leader of the DPRK following treasonous actions of the Disgraced Comrade, has placed the DPRK on a state of "war readiness."

"Despite the vicious attacks against the character of our nation and our very right to exist my sister, it pains me to say this, spoke at great length with the Rokkenjiman Princess promising them what is essentially the complete capitulation of our DPRK to the imperialists," Respected Comrade Ri Chŏng-jun said as he attempted to the best of his ability to hold back tears. "It is unfortunate, however, I have been forced to place Sang-Hee under arrest and have taken the Rokkenjiman Princess as a prisoner of war. Watch in the video as she admits that Rokkenjima is an imperialist power that only desires the complete subjugation of our DPRK before their hostilities will cease." The Respected Comrade paused as a video aired from the Princess stating the following:

As the cameras returned to the Respected Comrade he continued, "We stand at the highest levels of war readiness to see our adversaries, the imperialist bastards, driven from our neighbourhood permanently. I also call on the Kingdom of Clysperis to send its rust bucket ship home, if you attempt to unload your cargo for those in Kalasin we will see that your carrier becomes a submarine. You, who preached against the very nations you seek to help now, are not one of Aranye, but one of the imperialist scourge that keeps all nations lock step in line with their agenda. We can still realize tragedy in Nemphis, remember that, Pharaoh."

The news had hit before Forrester had left the room, "Get her back," Asuna said as she looked to Forrester, "send the entire damn fleet if you have to but..." "Your Majesty," Forrester would say with a bow of her head, "I saw with full concern for Princess Sophia but this," she said pointing to a frozen image of Ri Chŏng-jun, "is the opening I feel Rowe was waiting for. You'll be demanded to act undoubtedly, but you must show restraint. I can't, in good conscience, do what you want me to do without making things much worse. Ms. Rion, I believe you've a new investigation before you, I have no evidence but my gut tells me that this development isn't an accident and if we start asking the right questions, we'll find something doesn't add up here. As for you," she returned her attention to Asuna, "I don't believe the Kusanese will harm the Princess; she's far too valuable alive than she is dead, so as hard as it is please have patience. At the moment he slips up, if I'm correct," she said referencing Rowe, "get me Cole at my back and I'll have this all sorted in short order."

Evanthe arrived shortly after Serenity had, Michael Kensington following not far behind her. "I assume no introductions are necessary," she said as she motioned to Michael, "after serving as the Imperial Liaison of Rishiri our paths crossed again and he now serves as my Chief of Staff as Kōshaku." Kensington smiled, "pleasure to be working with you both today." With the pleasantries exchanged Eva turned back to Serenity, "I imagine we both have an idea on how things are going to play out today, and what we're expecting to achieve, let's make sure we go into that room with the King on the same page, yes?" she said as she exchanged the briefings which had been prepared prior to her departure for Seaforth.

"I have to say it feels good to be back, present circumstances excused I'd missed the air here," she continued.

"Well I'm certainly pleased that your waters aren't being impeded upon," the Empress responded simply. "We'll be happy to continue our support for a path of reunion between Marseilles and Troyes, however we remain committed to a path which sees this done with as minimal an impact on stability in our region as possible. Potentially seeing Rokkenjiman vessels forced to defend Seaforthian vessels and assets is hardly an ideal situation for any involved, so let's see that scenario is not one which spills from the realm of the hypothetical into the realm of reality, yes?"

"I understand," Forrester would add, "as such I'll increase my survivability. I can maintain command of the IRN from IRN Enterprise and, if Rowe wishes to see me dead he's an entire air wing and various assets at my disposal aligned against him, and he has to pinpoint where I will be. As I designed the underseas doctrine of the IRN, I know their game better than their captains do, I'll outrun the bastard but," she said as she looked to Rion, "can you promise me you'll get the series of bastards so I can hang them on my wall? I like my war trophies, after all."

Sophia Forrester, Rear Admiral, Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy

"I could not hide my presence here so, this is an event which will inevitably raise alarm bells in Imperial High Command," Sophia said as she bowed to the Empress. "For that I apologize but, if I am to continue to be your bullwark, I needed Cole at Imperial High Command yesterday to maintain things as they stand today. Asuna, my influence goes only so far, reigning in Rowe is an option that will soon be depleted as he picks up on where my loyalties truly lay. I promise you that I'll maintain my position for so long as I can, but, eventually, it will be me facing down an SIS squad, and I imagine they'll be sent to kill me when that moment comes. I don't care if what you have now is enough to pin anything on the bastard, I am telling you though that waiting has a cost, and while it's one I am willing to pay, I'd rather not, understandably. Do we have an understanding?" she said with urgency.

"Emerson," Asuna said as she stood, "if Forrester falls we fall," she paused for effect, "I don't care what procedural measures stand before us, we'll cut through them if we have to but Rowe's time at IHC must be brought to an end. Henry Cole has said he'll retake his former duties if I should deem it necessary well, I'm deeming it necessary today. That whole report in the RBC about the Cecelia Anselmo is the last straw and, while I can't prove it, I can't help but to think Rowe wouldn't see using the Kōketsu to his advantage as a chip he'd decline playing at this point. Rowe's done," she said as she sat, "help me to do this officially, please, I know a few who would see it done unofficially, so to say, and they'd be all the more happy to see it done. Plus," she paused, "Cole retaking the reigns of IHC insulates him; there's few who'd dare take a shot at him given his reputation amongst the rank and file. Sure we risk Rowe acting recklessly moving forward but, I'd propose, he's already acting as such. If Sophia needs Cole, let's see that it happens."

7
"We will thus wait and see what happens."

"In the mean time I reflect to recent Rokkenjiman reporting and can state that the Empress made no such statements as reported by the RBC. This has been corrected by the Editor, and at this time evidence points toward Kōketsu facilitating the false reporting under the guidance of Alastor Johan, who titles himself "First Lord". INIS suspects that the credentials used in the transmitting of the reporting to the RBC were likely spoofed and, as such, no compromise of Rokkenjiman systems has taken place and, while it resulted in a noisy and troublesome affair, the position of the First Empire remains as affirmed by the Empress and her diplomatic representatives."

8

A Note From The Editor

Following consultation with the Imperial Palace the RBC cannot verify the authenticity of the statements alleged to be made by the Empress in prior reporting. While information was transmitted to the RBC holding credentials it does not bear any verification from the Imperial Palace, which has stated it will be investigating the origins of the the message. It is expected that the Empress will make a statement on the matter in the coming hours, with the Imperial Palace presently stating that "the tone of the message relayed by the RBC is clearly out of step with how the Empress conducts herself. We appreciate the cooperation of the RBC on this matter as we move forward with our investigation."

We can verify that Cecelia Anselmo remains in port, with officials speaking off the record pointing fingers toward Kōketsu, an organisation recognized as a terrorist enterprise which last saw prominence in some manner of involvement of a Rokkenjiman ocean liner eight years ago.

Lucinda would chuckle at the emotionless response, clearly her message was interdicted in transit. She thought for a moment, she could end it here or continue it and, while the Lucinda of years before would wisely see to end it, she decided to respond.

"I don't know who you are, but you're not Beatrice," Lucinda started, considering her next words, "and maybe my own Beatrice is not even my Beatrice anymore; I saw them there, her, and Alex, celebrating the death of Kyle and I felt a sickness in my heart, and it was directed towards them, as death is never something to be celebrated. I destroyed the TV they had been so joyfully cheering at moments prior with a swift punch to the screen. I'll only say that I feel as though I saw the real Kyle, and I can say without reservation that he was a caring soul, someone whose soul would weigh less than a single strand of hair torn from Sehkma's head, in respect to your own faith I can only believe he's in a better place and I'll hope that is fact. I'll mourn his loss as I have those of my countrywomen and men, and will carry his memory into the future with me and, perhaps, there's truly nothing to fix, maybe he actually fixed me in the end of our story together. Perhaps he healed me and for that, I'll truly live and each day that follows and I will thank him for that gift. I don't care if this ever reaches Beatrice anymore, do what you will with my message, I was but one officer of the premier intelligence agency of Rokkenjima at the time; I held no influence over official policy, but I had my orders to follow, one guiding objective: to save Asuna."

"And he saved her," her message paused, "and I'll always respect Kyle for protecting those most precious to me, and I'll mourn him as I would a fallen comrade just as I will celebrate just how he unlocked my heart to feel, and to embrace feeling, well, feelings. I didn't know who to reach out to so I sought out Beatrice but, whoever you are, relay to her that I will cherish memories of our dinner, the charming face of Baxter, and the dedication of Kyle to protect his people first, not his own life, when we came under attack during that dinner, for the rest of my life. Damn your ascription to my feelings, they're worthless compared to the memories I share with Kyle and I'll be damned if you seek to belittle them with your emotionless response. That's all, it's all I have the heart to say, bye."

She then tossed the burner phone into the fire and giggled as the lithium-ion battery exploded, a scene she'd seen play out so many times before. As she did she looked to the stars, fixating on a cluster of stars that she did not recognize, yet recognizing their beauty. "I'll call this constellation Kyle, shine on you crazy diamond," she finished with a smile.

"In the same vein we can agree that the self-proclaimed Republic lacks legitimacy beyond your Empires," Kayumi Asami would retort. "Until a verifiable referendum is held on the mechanism which truly gauges the opinions of the People of Troyes as to what their future path will be then neither Seaforth, nor the self-proclaimed "Republic", has a legitimate claim to speak on the behalf of the residents of Troyes. With that being said the First Empire will call for the actions of Aosta and Abertone to be recognized solely as those of the Empires, pursued separately from the vision as agreed to in the ADSN Joint Statement on Troyes as agreed to by the membership of the ADSN last year, should they insist upon operating within the waters of Marseilles without the sanction of the Republic of Marseilles. We reiterate that the presence of yet further naval vessels in the waters of Marseilles threatens the very goal of the Joint Statement; there is no harm in them taking up a station in international waters just as Rokkenjiman vessels have done so, and their effectiveness would not be lessened if they were to do so. Their continued operations without sanction only serve to inflame the situation beyond that which is required, and I will update the Empress as to the insistance of Aosta on this matter, if you should so wish of course?" she said looking to Donna.

A Message To Marseilles
Secured Communication

To: Prime Minister Ralph Deschamps

Recent times have seen much discussion of Marseilles and Troyes yet we've yet to hear from the Republic itself on these matters. While I recognize that Rokkenjima's history with Marseilles has been, at times, complicated I pledge to you, as the Empress of a new era, that when I said I wished to see the territorial integrity of Marseilles restored through the reunion of your Republic with Troyes I meant it. Yet that goal has been obscured, first with the proclamation of the self-proclaimed "Republic of Troyes" and foreign vessels operating within your waters, without the sanction of your government, to "take up a role of maritime security for the new Republic until such a time as they can take responsibility for doing so" to quote the Empire of Aosta; responsibilities which would be within the formal and official remit of the Marseilles Navy. In addition to the Seaforthians already present in Troyes, exerting their own influence, we now see another navy foreign to Marseilles operating within your territorial waters on the behalf of an entity which is recognized to datey by two powers only, those being the Empires of Aosta and Abertone.

Prior to the First Empire considering additional measures I wish to seek your position on the self-proclaimed Republic, as well as that in regards to foreign navies operating in the territorial waters of Marseilles without the sanction of your government which is an aspect of this situation which increases the risk to all parties involved unnecessarily. At present, I have dispatched Evanthe Rhodes to Seaforth to pursue all diplomatic options with the Kingdom which, I hope, will see a graceful exit from Troyes by the Seaforthians. I firmly believe that the path of diplomacy, not that of reckless actions, will be the one which sees the swiftest reunion of Marseilles with Troyes and am pursuing all avenues to see that happens. As I've said this will require much of the Seaforthians, but we will also require partnership with Marseilles to see that this happens as well. It is my hopes that we may together see our shared resolution is realized, and I am prepared to utilize the full set of diplomatic tools the First Empire holds with the Seaforthians to see that end goal become a reality.

I will look forward to your reply.

Respectfully;

Empress of the First Empire of Rokkenjima
Princess of Littlebrook

On The Matter Of Troyes Re: Fusan
Secured Communication

To: Prime Minister Konishi, Fusan
Empress Serenity, on behalf of Gowu

Respected Minister,

I believe in that aspect our Empires are most in alignment; while the Principality is not legitimate and stands as a roadblock to a reunified Marseilles so to does the self-proclaimed Republic and yes, I share your concerns with "Real Marseilles" in regards to the people of Troyes and broader Marseilles. A lack of recognition from the Republic of Marseilles is concerning, and it is a matter of concern to me that our partners in Aosta and Abertone are using the invitation of the self-proclaimed "Republic" to operate within the waters of Marseilles; this is an issue which has been addressed by Kōshaku Rhodes, our representative to the ADSN and, most recently, by myself.  The First Empire would, while recognizing that there is no mandate for the Empire to do so, welcome a second call for foreign vessels to cease operations in the territorial waters of Marseilles without the explicit permission of Montaulon and recognize that such operations do not enjoy any protections under the Fair Seas Concordat as they are at the invitation of a body which lacks the legitimacy to grant any authority or authorization for foreign vessels to operate within those waters.

I appreciate the understanding of the Empire, as well as its willingness to offer assistance given the difficult position Rokkenjima and Achkaerin finds themselves in this moment. Trust me when I state that I did not wish to be in this position, however, Rokkenjima has given its word to the Kingdom and it is the highest duty of a Rosari to honour their commitments. As I've shared with our friends from Abertone and Aosta this situation, one which could see Rokkenjima called upon to defend Seaforth in this moment despite our shared goal of a Troyes reunited with Marseilles, could have been avoided through fully utilizing our shared strength represented through the ADSN. Unfortunately, our paths forward will be fragmented until they subscribe to the path put forward by the Achkaerinese before the ADSN, and I pray that they see the reason and logic which our friends in Achkaerin have put into their proposal and see it put into motion with haste.

I thank the Empire for their continued dedication to the path of diplomacy and the champion of peace in this most recent flash point and pledge that I will do all I can see to ensure your efforts succeed in facilitating a successful diplomatic resolution to this situation. I am pleased that we are partners in this affair and, just as we defied expectation in seeing peace succeed between our nations, let us sow together the seed of peace and prosperity in the present crisis before us. With our goals aligned and our vision set on the same target there is nothing that can guide us from a path I'm confident will be most successful.

Yours;

Empress of the First Empire of Rokkenjima
Princess of Littlebrook

On The Matter Of Troyes Re: Achkaerin
Secured Communication

To: Prime Minister Konishi, Fusan
Empress Serenity, on behalf of Gowu

Aunty Serenity,

I agree with you there and recognize that we're in a difficult position, it only takes one mistake here for the entire house of cards to collapse into a disaster I know none of us wants to see. Both of us have our ties to Seaforth, a nation which has proven itself a true friend to both of us but then it's our responsibility to guide our friends when they're doing things that, in the long run, are harmful to them. I know you're headed to Seaforth and I've sent Evanthe as well and, I hope, between the both of you we can assure Seaforth that yes we're here for them, but Troyes is as foolish an endeavour in maintaining as QAMB was for Rokkenjima in the Illumic. We have to help them see that there is an off-ramp, that their contributions to Troyes can be recognized while they gracefully exit, that this is not a zero-sum game before them.

Let us both pray that our efforts result in success, and that in the coming days we're not making life or death decisions because I doubt you, nor I, nor the Fusanese or even those in Abertone or Aosta wish to be making such decisions in the coming days. Let's show what diplomacy can do, and have faith in the march of peace and prosperity in our region.

Yours;

Empress of the First Empire of Rokkenjima
Princess of Littlebrook

Battleship Joins Fray In Straight Of Shaw

The Cecelia Anselmo has joined Rokkenjiman naval forces operating in the Straight of Shaw.

IRN Cecelia Anselmo has joined Rokkenjiman naval forces operating in the Straight of Shaw in response to the unilateral actions of the Empire of Aosta  in regards to the situation in Troyes. "Without the explicit permission of Marseilles Rokkenjima will not tolerate foreign vessels operating within the sovereign waters of Marseilles, and we are positioning the fire power to see that such vessels leave within the coming days," the Empress shared with the RBC. "These vessels enjoy no protections under the Fair Seas Concordat nor do they enjoy any other international protections. They operate, in effect, as pirates in the waters of another sovereign nation and we will see that they are removed absent the approval of the Republic of Marseilles. They may parade the approval of the self-proclaimed Republic, which is recognized only by the two Empires, but until the Republic of Marseilles itself welcomes them to their waters their vessels aren't truly welcomed, we will act to prevent them from transitioning into the waters of Marseilles. They may challenge us under such circumstances but," the Empress paused, "it will be their sailors on the floor of the Shaw, not ours."

"Subscribe to the path of diplomacy or accept the consequences of the path of the sword," the Empress continued. "The Joint Statement of the ADSN united our military and diplomatic resources, your actions independent of that have rendered us not partners, but adversaries, and I will not turn my back on international norms nor our commitments to the Kingdom of Seaforth. See reason, see cause here, and do not proceed further than you already have. We can still be partners in peace if you dissuade from this path, and I hope that is the path you choose. Remove your vessels, respect international norms and standards, and do not inflame the situation beyond the present confines."

14
"We see no issue with the proposal put forward," Kayumi Asami said. "Kōshaku Rhodes, former Archoness of Seaforth and Lord Protector of Somerset, is set to touch down in Seaforth in the coming hours. We're confident, alongside Empress Serenity, that their efforts will find some success in effecting the path for Troyes to determine its future. I would wish to echo the words of the Kōshaku in regards to naval forces in the region: unless the explicit permission of Marseilles is granted foreign vessels should not be operating within the territorial waters of Marseilles."

15

Kōshaku Rhodes Heads To Seaforth

With the drama unfolding in Troyes Evanthe Rhodes has been dispatched to the Kingdom of Seaforth.

The Empress has dispatched Kōshaku Rhodes to the Kingdom of Seaforth to discuss the situation presently unfolding in Troyes. "Let me be clear in no uncertain terms that Rokkenjima stands by its security commitments to the Kingdom of Seaforth, and we thus urge all foreign powers to act responsibly in regards to Troyes," the Kōshaku shared with the RBC. "The Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy will be in position to monitor the situation and, if called upon, to assist our allies should the need to do so arise. We must also respect that any foreign presence in Troyes must be brought to an end, yet that goal must be accomplished through legitimate means. Propping up a self-proclaimed republic that lacks recognition from even Marseilles to accomplish that goal, and using that self-proclaimed republic to operate in Marseilles waters, likely in violation of the Free Seas Concordat, is not the path to a Troyes which is ultimately reunited with Marseilles, however."

Kōshaku Rhodes reiterated the irritations of Chrysanthemum Throne on how the situation has unfolded. "We were not consulted prior to the present actions being undertaken. When Rokkenjima joined with the other members of the ADSN to issue the Joint Statement on Troyes we expected a path forward which was unified; this, by definition, has not been the path we ascribed to in regards to Troyes. While Rokkenjima will continue to support the path toward a reunification between Troyes and Marseilles we will not turn our back on our treaty partners, nor will we set aside international norms and standards to reach the end of that path. Indeed, while I travel to Seaforth the Empress is seeing that business is addressed before the ADSN to rectify this situation and ensure that the peace and prosperity of the Dauntel-Shaw region is maintained."

"Whereas before the ADSN pursued this issue as a united front we've seen that front fractured due to recent events. My duties in Seaforth will be three fold: to ensure that we coordinate with the Kingdom to ensure the situation does not spiral out of control, to establish a path for Troyes to see an internationally monitored and endorsed referendum as to their future, and to reiterate Rokkenjima's position as a defense partner of the Kingdom. While much will be expected of Seaforth, likewise, we'll need to see actions from Aosta and Abertone which reaffirms a path toward a peaceful reintegration of Troyes, in line with the ADSN and the Joint Statement. I would suggest, for a start, that foreign naval vessels do not operate within the territorial waters of Marseilles without the explicit permission of Marseilles, who are the only ones who may legitimately authorize such vessels to operate in their waters."

Kōshaku Rhodes, aboard the Imperial Concorde, is set to touch down in Seaforth in the coming hours.

16
"The time to utilize Rokkenjiman and Achkaerinese ties with Seaforth was before, not during or after, these present actions. If a stray bolt of lightning were to hit a Seaforthian and they could somehow successfully tie it to one of your nations you'd see the Imperial Rokenjiman Navy and I'd hazard the Achkaerinese raining down fire against your nations, a situation I believe none of us desires. Whilst the Empires of Aosta and Abertone may hold commitments to each other above and beyond the ADSN I'd be remiss to remind you that Rokkenjima holds ties to Seaforth above and beyond the ADSN and, where we've given our word to defend those we've shed blood alongside, we will uphold that commitment if it is requested upon us by the Seaforthians. This series of actions would have been stronger and more successful if the whole of the ADSN were behind it, we now sit with a situation where, if circumstances go one way or another, Rokkenjima will be treaty bound to defend those who we'd otherwise be mutually opposed to holding a presence in the region."

"I would add that, as the self proclaimed Republic is not indeed sovereign that it is the waters of Marsielles which are being patrolled and, as I have no knowledge of Marseilles issuing such a request we are treading the fine lines of international law on this matter. This is not a concern just of the First Empire but also one shared by other ADSN nations, and while we will talk to Seaforth it will not be in a light of a unified ADSN; they'll have undoubtedly seen our previous remarks on the issue before us. The difference between Rokkenjima's visit to Clysperis and the situation before us is one of those situations did not have far reaching consequences for our region, and I'll simply leave it at that."

17
Kayumi Asami again rose to speak. "In the past few hours we've seen actions taken in regards to Troyes by local actors, as well as the Empires of Aosta and Abertone. The later actions have been taken without the consultation of this body which, some may argue, speaks against the spirit of Article 4.1 considering the defensive ties some members hold with the Kingdom of Seaforth. Furthermore, while the Protectorate of Troyes is illegitimate, the self-proclaimed Republic of Troyes is as well, with concerns being held over the conduct of "Real Marseilles". With no input, at the moment, from the legitimate government of Marseilles on either the self-proclaimed Republic and the actions undertaken in their name, and the Government of Marseilles has yet to green-light foreign naval vessels operating in their waters, we're at a most messy junction. At the moment these operations are seemingly illegal and, if one wished to argue it, against the spirit of the ADSN Charter, so someone," she said as she looked to the representatives from Aosta and Abertone before continuing, "had better begin explaining just how we got to this point."

On The Matter Of Troyes
Secured Communication

To: Prime Minister Konishi, Fusan
Empress Serenity, on behalf of Gowu

As I'm certain you're aware developments are presently unfolding in Troyes which may raise challenges in the region we share, challenges I feel may have been lessened via the ADSN. I will be calling for talks to address that aspect, however, what's done is done and, while I have released a statement on behalf of Chrysanthemum Throne on the matter I do not wish to act without consensus with our two closest neighbours; Fusan and Gowu. I still support the vision as outlined by the ADSN Joint Statement on Troyes, yet the developments we've seen in the past few hours places not only Rokkenjima, but Achkaerin as well, in a difficult position in regards to our obligations to the Kingdom of Seaforth. Meanwhile, as the prospect for such things to go from being contained to expanding beyond the initial move, I can imagine that there are many conversations happening within Fusan as I write this.

Thus far the only actions I have taken are issuing a reminder as to Rokkenjima's defense obligations and dispatching a Task Force to monitor the situation. I would like to, if possible, coordinate future actions and ensure that we're all on the same page as I feel we all share the goal of a free Troyes, reunited with Marseilles. I still believe that diplomacy has the potential to work here and, depending on what feedback I receive from you, I am prepared to see if Kōshaku Rhodes is able to engage with the Seaforthians to ensure that the situation does not spiral out of control.

I await your replies.

Yours;

Empress of the First Empire of Rokkenjima
Princess of Littlebrook

On The Matter Of Troyes

As neither the First Empire, nor any other member of the ADSN was consulted prior to the actions undertaken by the Empire of Aosta and the Empire of Albertone my response shall likewise be public and independent of the ADSN framework. While the First Empire maintains that a return of the totality of Troyes to Marseilles is an event which must happen we are concerned that the events of the last few hours increase the potential for unforeseen consequences, greater instability and a potentially bloodier path to the objectives of the Joint Statement by the ADSN on the Troyes situation. The First Empire is disappointed that the Empires have involved themselves with a series of actions without consultation with the broader ADSN, which could have seen the utilization of our shared diplomatic resources to effect positive change. While we will continue to support a Troyes and Marseilles which is free of foreign occupation, just as the Protectorate is not a legitimate exercise of sovereignty, unfortunately, neither is the Republic of Troyes.

As this situation has brewed without consultation the First Empire is forced to remind the Empire of Aosta and Empire of Abertone that security agreements exist between Rokkenjima and Seaforth. Should harm befall any Seaforthian personnel, vessels or aircraft the First Empire would be in a position where those agreements could legitimately be called upon by the Kingdom of Seaforth, placing the First Empire in a rather difficult position. This is a situation which could have been avoided with discussions via the ADSN prior to this course of action being pursued.

In response, the First Empire is forced to deploy Task Force Vigilant Watch, centered around IRN Eleanor and IRN Beluga, to the Strait of Shaw to monitor the situation and, if necessary, respond according to the treaty obligations of the First Empire of Rokkenjima if necessary.  We will also be calling for a meeting of the ADSN to discuss these developments and, hopefully, see that the consideration of our neighbours as friends ensures better communications to avoid situations such as this in the future.

Respectfully;

Empress of the First Empire of Rokkenjima
Princess of Littlebrook

Gregory McKenna arrives in Mktvartvelo.

If the invitation to Pyrettania had been accepted his presence here wouldn't be necessary, yet when the Empress came to him with a request it was his duty to fulfill it so here he found himself. He didn't entirely enjoy the task before him and didn't entirely trust his hosts, a position shared by many Rokkenjimans to be honest, but he would nonetheless give a fair ear to their words while fulfilling his duty to see the best interests of the Empress and, by extension, the Rokkenjiman People, would be realized through his presence. "Thank you, a pleasure I'm sure," McKenna would say as he offered a handshake to Vazha Virsaladze. "Let's do this then, yes?" he replied to the later question.

"It's a positive development to be sure," McKenna would reply, "now as we're granted some time prior to my meeting with the Prime Minister I would appreciate if a summary of the State Security Powers Act of 1974 was prepared, with highlights of the provisions which Abstergo allegedly is in violation of so that I may review it on behalf of the Empress and act in her steed. I don't wish to go into this meeting blind, so if you can see that's done you'll have my immense gratitude," he continued with a smile.

Abstergo First Rokkenjiman Company Worth Over $1 Trillion

Despite facing possible anti-trust action and difficulties with the Unitary State, Abstergo enters 2024 worth $1.2 trillion. Pictured above is Albert Relkin, CEO of Abstergo Industries.

Mr. Relkin navigated Abstergo Industries through some headwinds in recent times, with troubles abroad in the Unitary State and the potential for anti-trust action back home. However, thanks to the successful launches of aOS, nexus and Lexa AI, as well as securing further contracts for the Defense Solutions Division, Abstergo has seen its market cap increase to र652.4bn ($1.2tn) with some analysts questioning whether Abstergo is on path to become the first trillion-Ducat company in Rokkenjiman history after this milestone. Abstergo stocks received a boost on the successful conclusion of the antitrust matter, while gains in the field of AI offset other challenges such as the loss to Rosa Shipyards to construct the Ryōshi Class Ordinance Ship. "We're still building the Gojira class," Relkin was quick to add, "and while Ryōshi will be built by Rosa her brains will be designed and built by Abstergo Industries."

"What led us to this point," Relkin paused, "is a combination of factors. Profits and revenues beating expectations is one part of the equation and, moving into the future, Abstergo is exploring options for periodic stock buy-backs as considered appropriate by the Board of Directors. While we took a bit of a hit during the unfortunate Mktvartvelo affair and antitrust action here in Rokkenjima investors have nonetheless remembered Abstergo's historic reputation as a safe investment in times of economic uncertainty. Add to this the fact that aOS has seen its marketshare in Rokkenjima increase to 64%, nexus reach 43% and, while that last number might be concerning we're largely competing against SyncOS, although the rate of adoption of nexus is most promising. Abstergo projects that nexus will overtake SyncOS before the end of the year, and we'll see aOS north of 70% at that point as well. We're doing all the right things, providing products that resonate within our markets, so that's why we've cracked the trillion-dollar ceiling. Naturally our next target will be the trillion-Ducat ($2tn) ceiling, though I can't accurately say when that might happen."

"We also have in Lexa AI a trailblazing, revolutionary AI platform which expands its capabilities with each day that passes. Much like the internet transformed the world around three decades ago AI is ushering in another revolution; it's already changing nearly every industry and is impacting our society in ways we're only just starting to understand. As this technology becomes more capable I envision it taking repetitive and dangerous tasks from human hands, freeing humanity toward those pursuits they're so much better equipped for; work that requires creativity, empathy and, yes, humanity. Just as the industrial age eased the lives of our ancestors, freeing them from spending countless hours toiling under the hot sun harvesting crops by hand while bringing the world closer together via the steamship and train, AI will bring us closer together by taking over menial tasks while freeing people to pursue more enlightened paths. Today, however," he paused as he produced an aOS phone, "everyone who has an aOS phone or nexus PC has their own digital butler, enabling them to be more present in their lives while leaving things such as making reservations, appointments, booking flights, hotel rooms, even ordering household deliveries and services in Lexa's capable hands."

"Continuing on Lexa, we've seen a shift in how Rokkenjimans search for information on the web. While previously one would open a browser, go to a search engine, type a query and hit 'search' we've instead seen people pulling out their phones and simply asking Lexa instead. Personally I can't tell you how many times I've been out and about, perhaps shopping and a song I haven't heard in years comes on and all I have to do is say "Lexa, who is this?" and, seconds later, she gives me the name of the song, the band, the album the song is on and when it was released. That's a simple example yes, but it's something that is only recently possible thanks to the work of Abstergo and other efforts abroad." Naturally at this point the RBC pointed to the Journey XR from Arasaka.

"We've got something in the works there," Relkin replied with a grin. "Similar concept, but on a different scale than what the team at Arasaka is aiming for. Imagine having a cinema experience wherever you might be, or a workspace that occupies the space around you, all controllable with your eyes, voice and hands. It's in the works at the Future Technologies Division and while they don't have a name for it yet I've been floating Abstergo Marvel might be appropriate for the vision we have in mind. We'll see what marketing comes up with in the mean time, naturally, though I think when people see this they'll truly marvel at the potential one can fit into a headset."

"I remember that day as if it were yesterday," Lucinda said as she recalled Gregory's face as well as those of his squad of goons. "I was just minding my own business when I heard her pleas and Gregory yelling in response, turning my head at just the right moment to see him push Bea to the ground, those other boys just standing there allowing his conduct to continue, someone had to intervene and I did. It's difficult but," she paused, "even after the passage of years hearing her pleas for them to just hand Binky back to her, somehow I can find my way back to feeling that empathy with her in that moment and the rage that followed when I saw Gregory's goony face filled with such pride as he looked down on her after he shoved her. The only regret I have is that I didn't break the bastards leg, though you should have seen the look on his face when I told him I'd do worse than hurt his knee if he didn't hand Binky back immediately. I followed up on him in my intelligence career a few times," she continued, "Gregory never amounted to much, worked a handful of meaningless jobs, two failed marriages, currently unemployed and miserable as he relies upon assistance from the programs the girl he bullied all those years ago implemented. Don't tell anyone I know that last bit," she sighed, "<0 tells me things from time to time."

"It's hard for me to remember our lives are so intertwined," Lucinda said as she recalled the memories, "but it was necessary for me to preclude emotion given all I've had to do to protect her, emotions were a liability and I had to remain focused on the mission ahead of me, I think I can at least rest knowing I executed it well," though it was the mention of Iona that would see her drop the phone and collapse into Peter shedding tears. "I'm sorry," she said in between breaths, "I never got to say goodbye, I'm glad Bea got that chance though, she told me so many times how she was there reassuring you and Serenity, I hope that one day I can make the trip and speak the words that have been with me since that day though. It was so much easier before," she continued as she rose and wiped her tears aside, "but feeling as I do now, not being able to keep my emotions at bay, why it's not hard to understand why my favourite characters growing up were the likes of Spock, Data, and Seven. But then again," she paused, "I guess embracing humanity as Data and Seven did, is something I'm not incapable of, so I have to accept the emotions and embrace them as part of who I am, not something to be fought."

"Ugh," Beatrice said as she emerged, "though I have to say you're even more of a badass knowing you felt my pain and couldn't do anything other than bring it to an end so, thank you," she said as she sat next to Lucidna and took her hand into hers. "Your duty has been fulfilled, a thousand times over, and you have my eternal thanks for always being there no matter what it was, from schoolyard bullies to international assassins, you kept not only me but my family safe, but that duty is now Kado's, and you can live however you wish so please, just do it. You know I'm not going anywhere, and that you can't get rid of me easily, so just as you had my back for so many years, let me have your back now and support you in doing what you want to do, yes?" to which Lucinda replied with a nod. "Good," Beatrice said before adding, "you'll always be someone special to me, never forget that, and I'm sure we can arrange for you to have some time visiting Iona's grave, I'm sorry you couldn't be there but I'm confident she'd be proud at everything you've accomplished so don't beat yourself down, anyone who knows you would be proud of you, so keep your chin up and," she said as she embraced Lucinda, "sorrow is powerful, but positive emotion sends energy straight to the heart and spreads warmth, and you're surrounded by it, I love you Luci."

"And I you," Lucinda replied, "and before us is tomorrow, a new day, one I look forward to. Thank you," she said as she gripped her tightly, "though don't think I'm growing soft. You walk Stanley or Gregory through that door as a test of my empathy I promise I'll properly throttle each of  them into the next life," she continued with a giggle. "Well that won't be happening as one of them is in prison and the other is banned from the grounds of Pyrena Castle, though if you wanted to go to the music room I'm sure we could work out a piano-organ duel?" "Indeed," Lucinda replied, "you play The Entertainer on organ and I on piano, and Peter judges which one of us performs it best?" she looked over to Peter.

"If I may?" Akasha asked as she reached out, pulling a pen from her bag.

Quote
Following a meeting between the membership of COSNAT and the Kingdom of Clysperis the nations involved have agreed that they will, as and when considered appropriate by all parties, meet for discussions on major global events in order to present a more unified response for the betterment of all parties. Furthermore the parties are committed to ensuring all voices within the international community are given volume.

The parties, recognizing and wishing to address the cultural differences and, at times, lack of knowledge, will partake in an annual cultural exchange festival allowing for each party to introduce their cultures and learn from one another. This festival will be held in each nation in turn annually. Furthermore, the establishment of a student exchange program will be pursued, allowing students from the parties more expansive and diverse educational opportunities at both the secondary and university levels, further easing the present deficit of cultural understanding.

She presented the memo with her additions, "I figured that, as cultural differences have been mentioned, that is an area we should look to agree to tackle together. I would also wish to note the Kingdom's willingness to offer its assistance in times of disaster and, if others are interested in considering it, I believe that much could be gained for each of us if we considered a shared commitment to mutual aid between the Kingdom and COSNAT. Resources and volunteers standing at the ready should an unexpected crisis befall any of our nations, or any ideas any of you may have in that regard, I would be willing to explore such an idea if there is enough shared interest."

Empress Chases The Shadow

Joined by researchers the Empress enjoyed 89 minutes of totality, beating a record 74 minutes registered by Dartfordia in 1973 aboard a Concorde flight.

The Empress, joined by Earl Thomas and a concert of scientists and researchers, spent the previous hours chasing the shadow of the recent total solar eclipse quite literally. While the eclipse lasted just 4 minutes on the ground. through utilizing the Imperial Ryūsei Rokkenjiman researchers and the Empress enjoyed a record breaking period in totality, totaling 97 minutes in the shadow cast upon Mundus by the moon. "There will be no pictures from me or Thomas, I forbade either of us from having cameras," the Empress shared with the RBC. "It was our moment, one to remember not to post to social media for likes or comments, just one to remember together." As the camera panned to Thomas, who made an effort to guide them away, the Empress chuckled, "He's not so public yet, do forgive him."

Many instruments joined the Empress and her consort for the flight, which was followed by the older and slower Imperial Concorde, which itself was fitted with researchers and additional modifications, including portions of the upper parts of the airplane being specifically fitted for observation of the event.Whilst the Concorde flies 250 miles slower than the shadow cast against the ground of Mundus the Imperial Ryūsei equaled the speed of the Lunar shadow as it raced across Mundus, enabling the longest period of time spent in totality by any human. ISEA has confirmed that it would share any new findings on the universe garnered through their presence on the flight with international partners.

Outfitted with instruments specified for this flight data from the Imperial Concorde might prove more useful than that from the Ryūsei, however the Empress didn't discount her experience at the expense of that. "Looking at that sight for so long, just, wow," she trailed off, "it was amazing, breathtaking, all in one. It's an event that could change anyone and give them a new perspective."

Empress Saisei Establishes Global Citizen Initiative

The organization, which focuses on volunteerism, fundraising and dispersing funds to charitable causes across Mundus, is the first project of the Empress Emerita since departing Chrysanthemum Throne.

In coordination with the Rosari Church Empress Saisei has established the Global Citizen Initiative (GCI) which will "combine fundraising and donation efforts with a team of skilled volunteers in a variety of spheres to respond to challenges, both local and abroad. It is my hopes to see the GCI work alongside established forces, such as JET, in responding to crises when they arise while also addressing issues before they become crises. It has always been my belief that one does not need an office, a commission or a throne to make a difference in the world around them, no, the only thing one needs to make a difference is the will to do so. The GCI will empower those who wish to make a difference to do so, whether it be via donations or volunteering in the field. I did not require a Throne to go and feed people, an arrest I proudly wear and declined to scrub from my record, when a Rokkenjiman city decided that feeding the homeless should be a crime. I look forward to the day I'll again be free to engage in such direct means of supporting those less fortunate directly but, for now, directing funds and resources to those who are capable of doing so today is the next best thing," the Empress shared with the RBC.

The GCI moves forward in its operations with र527m ($975m) in its coffers, with Empress Sutāraito donating personally to "ensure the success of the vision proposed by the GCI and brighten the horizons of people through the efforts I'm confident this organization will excel at." Empress Saisei has already been coordinating with local issues prior to the announcement as well as discussions with the Clysperi Kingdom to address some issues which linger in the Southern Lands following the rebellion in the South. "There's a deal of rebuilding that hasn't yet been initiated as well as concerns about poaching as highlighted by the Pharaoh in a recent CSMC article. These are two causes which the GCI is geared toward assisting in and a partnership which I hope will bring brighter days to those we'll be helping," Empress Saisei added.

Rosari Crusaders will be assisting in operations in Clysperis due to the recent threat posed by Ramose to Rokkenjimans in Clysperis, an issue which Grand Maester Yuna addressed. "With the situation in Clysperis being tense for Rokkenjimans due to the unnecessary and unfortunate threats of Ramose, for the first time in over a century the Rosari Crusaders will be operating on foreign soil in Clysperis to provide security and protection for those representing the best of Islyna's teachings in Clysperis. While both the Rokkenjiman and Clysperi governments agreed that deploying forces of the IRAF to protect volunteers was out of the question both the Pharaoh and the Empress have granted sanction for the Crusaders, in liaison with the Royal Clysperi Armed Forces, to ensure their safety while in Clysperis. By the grace of Islyna and the will of Ma'lia, we'll see that no harm comes to those looking to make a lasting, good, impact for the communities in Clysperis where the GCI will be operating."

While the majority of GCI volunteers are presently Rokkenjiman Empress Saisei has not precluded foreigners from joining the Initiative. "Indeed, I would welcome their participation," she said with a smile, "this is not a Rokkenjiman initiative but one of people looking to better the world around them through service and selflessness. That's not solely a Rokkenjiman or Rosari trait, but one which we are all gifted with at birth. Sadly, some of us forget how to use that trait, but it's never too late to get back in touch with that goodness of the human heart which is universal. The heart is not drawn toward evil, let us show that through this Initiative."

For Immediate Release
April 7, 2024

As the Imperial Government continues to monitor the situation within Nya Åland the Ministry for Foreign Affairs has issued an advisory for Rokkenjimans within Nya Åland to make arrangements to either depart the nation or see that they move to areas under the firm control of the legitimate government. Arrangements are being made for flights to take place to remove any Rokkenjiman citizen, as well as those of our Oshini cousins, from Nya Åland until this present period of crisis is resolved. Rokkenjima will be maintaining full consular services for the time being and urges Rokkenjiman, allied and partner nations to make use of them in this difficult time.

The First Empire further warns the Gungnir that any actions against just one citizen of the First Empire of Rokkenjima will result in severe consequences being imposed upon them. Under my order the Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy is dispatching a Task Force centred around IRN Kitsune and IRN Alexander Vaughan from QKNB to monitor the situation and provide assistance to Rokkenjiman nationals as well as any operations conducted in concert with the broader international community. This posture will be maintained as long as necessary dependent upon conditions on the ground.

Chrysanthemum Throne

For Immediate Release
April 7, 2024

While I am pleased to see that there is an air of understanding between us concerning the most important aspects of the present situation I am, at present, unable to accept an invitation abroad at this time as there are matters which require my presence within the First Empire. While I will leave my original invitation on the table, if that is not possible I am prepared to send the Imperial Liaison for Diplomatic Affairs, Gregory McKenna, to represent Rokkenjima. Furthermore, while I am open to being amendable on current economic actions, upon the lifting of any Rokkenjiman response products from the Unitary State would be subject to the same fourteen-point evaluation system which Rokkenjiman products are mandated to meet or exceed; those products (hardware or software) which fail that evaluation system will be banned just as any Rokkenjiman product which fails to gain certification under that evaluation would be.

I shall await the response of your Government.

Princess Sophia Arrives In Kusan For Diplomatic Talks

Princess Sophia represents Rokkenjima's interests in peace with Kusan in the highest level talks between the two nations in decades..

The RBC can confirm that Princess Sophia has arrived for talks in Kusan to diffuse the tensions between the First Empire and the self-described People's Democratic Republic of Fusan. Speaking with reporters on the tarmac the Princess maintained an air of confidence. "The issues before us are great, but I believe we can overcome the challenges before us to see a peaceful trajectory between Rokkenjima and Kusan is not only possible, but inevitable. I can promise you that I will not return home without a successful result for this meeting, and we will see a day where Kusan and Rokkenjima may exist together in peace. I am honoured for the trust which the Empress has bestowed upon me and will not return empty handed."

When asked of the revelations that her mother is none other than Evanthe Rhodes, perhaps Rokkenjima's most accomplished diplomat, the Princess shrugged. "Thanks for turning this into a contest on our skills. It makes sense though, looking back," Sophia paused, "the Princess of Arovium was among the most important diplomats of Empress Saisei and here I am, serving a similar role for Empress Sutāraito. Like mother like daughter, I suppose in that regard? We're taking things one day at a time," the Princess continued, "and I don't wish to share anything more there than I've already shared. I do wish to convey the gratitude, on behalf of the entire Imperial Family, to the RBC and other reputable news outlets for your respect to our privacy as we navigate this chapter. I've long known Eva, I've known Count Emerson for a while too, and while we figure this all out and get used to the new reality that's something we can't quite share, but at least I think it's going well, I do have duties to attend to so if you will excuse me."

Khemnen Palace Welcomes New Resident

Neferet, a serval cat which was rescued from poachers, will be looked after on the vast grounds of Khemnen Palace.

As the Kingdom of Clysperis cracks down on poaching the Pharaoh has welcomed one victim of the practice to reside on the grounds of Khemnen Palace. "This is Neferet, in English her name means beautiful one," Pharaoh Akasha Di-‘nh-mi-Re paused as she pet the kitten sitting in her lap. "While in operations against poachers we seek to restore animals to their natural habitats unfortunately Neferet is not a candidate for restoration to the wild. We found her shortly after her birth and in that time she's taken quite a liking to me, and while she'll always be a wild animal servals are known to be capable of bonding quite well with one person, becoming emotionally attached to the extent that separating them would cause a level of distress that is deep and inhumane. I've seen that a portion of the Palace we haven't utilized in some time has been transformed into a fitting home for Neferet and, when she's older, she'll have many acres of enclosed land to enjoy to the fullest."

Poaching in Clysperis is largely driven by foreign interests in exotic pets, such as the serval itself as well as the so-called Savannah; a hybrid between a serval and a domesticated cat. "The issue is one we can only do so much to combat," the Pharaoh continued, "as while we can combat poachers the existence of a foreign market for such animals means that there will be a demand and where there is a demand there will be those who seek to meet it, even if such actions are illegal. I am exploring options to propose an international anti-poaching treaty which would increase international customs and law enforcement cooperation to tackle the challenge of poaching on both fronts: those animals desired by the practice as well as those who provide the demand for them while recognizing that poaching itself threatens not only the population of those animals targeted but also other animals in their ecosystem, thus disrupting the key balance of nature within a healthy biome which could represent great damage to nations in which poaching is undertaken."

As for Neferet the Pharaoh shared her confidence that the young serval would have a good life ahead of her. "We're looking to ween her off the bottle soon, I've heard their favourite food tends to be rodents, which just one serval can eat upwards of 4,000 a year, and yes we'll ensure she has a consistent supply of. While she'll have dedicated facilities here at the Palace I won't close any doors to her and she'll be free to visit me in the main complex, just as I intend to visit her enclosure, although as a serval in the wild often enjoys a territory of 4-12 square miles, I'm thankful that the Palace has adjacent lands to ensure she has a relatively wide range to call her own out there in safety. We're going to ensure that she has as natural a life as possible but, as poachers brought her into a life of captivity, there is much I will need to do to correct their crimes and do right by Neferet."

"I apologize if my words or tone has offered something different," Akasha said with a soft tone to her voice, "I recognize that when I was less experienced I sent much ire and anger their way, but in contemporary times we've seen opportunities for cooperation between Clysperis and East Moreland and I have welcomed them at every offering. It's in some ways different, our paths to the Crown," she paused, "in my lands it's historically expected that a man is Pharaoh, for the greater part of my reign I had to prove myself to those back home two times over just to be as good as my male predecessors because we, women, with our emotions and empathy certainly couldn't ever be seen as strong leaders of our Peoples. Unfortunately there are many back home that view women as weaker even if we both know that is not the case," she paused again.

"But I've won over the Nomarchs by this point, my Vizier stands as a stalwart defense in my absence, and in all manners I've no need to defend myself nor my rule as I had to in those earlier difficult times; I traveled here, a journey of thousands of miles, to find friendship and partnership, not to find pawns to dispose of at the most convenient moment. With the faith of the Nomarchs and holding an advantage with the church in being proclaimed divine myself, for the first time in my reign I have some breathing room. As to what such an understanding would entail, I apologize, but I would wish to surrender my voice here and ask what you would wish to see, indeed any of you seated here today for that point, as I do not wish to use any advantages, perceived or otherwise, Clysperis may hold here; I would rather constrain the position of the Kingdom than to impose as we move forward so please," she said as she lowered her head toward Aurora, "whether it is you, or any one of you," she continued as she motioned to the others present, "present a path forward and you'll find that I am able be most accommodating and adaptable."

"While Clysperis may enjoy recent relations with nations such as Achkaerin and Rokkenjima I remain quite confident that my voice would offer no significant sway in the decisions either of those nations should wish to take. You will remember that I called for independent verification of the election results in Kalasin and, despite Clysperi ties to two nations as you've noted, no such independent verification has been undertaken to date. Neither Valtheim nor the Imperial Palace has acted to effect such verification, which despite Clysperi ties and being larger than any voice present before us today in population, even our voice remains but a minnow in the international chorus, thus even if my voice was heard it was disgarded without much effort from larger powers. Nations such as Rokkenjima, Achkaerin, East Moreland...they enjoy a reach you nor I do in the present time, and I relate to you in that, I see something in all of you that we share this experience. We're present, our voices are there, but when push comes to shove, those shoving have such an unfair portion of the weight behind them. I am certain that if I gave up more to nations like those previously mentioned I could amplify the voice of the Clysperi in international affairs greatly yet, I look to Clysperis' past and see that our great feats were not accomplished in allying our voice to those in charge, yet it was when we directed our voice where it mattered most that the greatest positive change was realized. I know that Clysperis can not be a member of COSNAT, but I know that the heart of our nation shares your pains, struggles and concerns when interacting with the broader world, and it's those concerns I feel we can best utilize in a partnership between our nations."

Turning to Avgusta the Pharaoh nodded, "You must understand I was thrust into a position beyond anything I comprehended at the moment, we'd relatively recently cast off the Soviets and in our earliest days had foreign powers telling us how to conduct our internal affairs and, with a people who look to the Pharaoh as the highest authority, showing any deference to foreign nations would've been the end of my reign so I had to be on the offensive. Indeed, to the very heart of your concerns with the Morelanders, we've entered talks for East Moreland to safely decommission a Soviet nuclear power plant and we've seen Clysperis act with vigor to defend the Cultist minority who live within our borders. I promise you, just as the passage of time has granted me with more wisdom to work with, Themyscira risks no conflict in engaging with the Kingdom, for the Kingdom I represent today is not the Kingdom which spake with ire and fire toward its global neighbours. We've even offered a path for reconciliation to Royal Seleucid, we've also seen our greatest critic in Tytor certify our slavery-free status, and just days ago a concert of Rokkenjiman ships visited Clysperi shores. I was insufferable to many at one point but," she sighed, "that point has passed and Clysperis continues its trajectory as a productive and positive force in international affairs."

"Thank you for your positive acknowledgements," the Pharaoh said as she addressed the Prince, "and to be honest, I know that our positions are different on the global stage in some respects but in others, as I've highlighted in previous responses, they're so unfortunately the same; my voice is heard just to be ignored. I'd like to work with you, all of you, to be a positive force for all disenfranchised voices, to ensure that large (or larger in the case of Clysperis) voices do not snuff out the smaller voices, to support the objectives of COSNAT because I feel the objectives of Clysperis are shared with you all. I could've approached voices such as the Rokkenjimans or the Achkaerinese, I could've used what both gave me to expand Clysperi influence abroad but that's not what I want, not for myself or my Kingdom. I want to help people, I want to lift voices that lack ears to listen to them, and I want history to look back on Clysperis was doing in the present and say "they worked toward a more equitable and fair future." I want to tame selfish desires in my own legislature and turn that energy into something that moves humanity forward, for the sake of all people, not one over another. I know my reputation, but please, I am much more learned from those days and more open to the world around me. May we take this meeting as an opportunity to reintroduce ourselves and move forward on a new understanding between us all?"
