Introduction

The Mundus Cycling Cup is a season-long cycling competition, with a winning individual and a winning team decided at the end of the season. For information how to participate in Mundus Cycling Cup events, you can go to this thread.

The winners of the Mundus Cycling Cup are decided through a points scoring system for the top riders in some of the most important one-day cycling races in Mundus. The winner is the rider/team with the most overall points. Each cycling race is an independent event, though, likely with different organizers, and a trophy and prize given at the winner of the race. The trophy and prize for the Mundus Cycling Cup winners will be announced and given at the end of the season, in a special ceremony.

"This does not feel a very inspiring place", Merab told Sofiko. They had already spent five hours in Mtrulumi, and Merab seemed to have had enough already.

"It's not been a very productive journey, but c'mon", Sofiko replied, "this kind of place isn't really that when you grew up here.

"You come from somewhere nearby, isn't it?", Merab asked.

"That's right", Sofiko answered. "My hometown is about 80 kms from here. And this place must be five or six larger than that".

"I’d rather be a taxi driver in Azavrelia if I had to live here”, Merab added.

Sofiko just shrugged. “And how have you ended here?”, she scolded him.

“There are things that I obviously messed up”, Merab replied without much passion. “This must be the place”. He suddenly realized about a man smoking a cigarette, with two policemen at both of his sides.

“Ah”, the man said, “Detective Arsenidze, I suppose?”.

“That’s me”, Merab replied.

“Nice to meet you”, the man said. “I’m the mayor. I hope you don’t have a problem coming here. Was your journey pleasant?”.

“I see”, Merab answered. “Yes, mostly. No, it was easy to find this place...This is Sofiko, Sofiko Talakahadze”.

“A pleasure, Miss Talakahadze”, Mayor Ivanishvili said. “I’m afraid you had to come to our town for these unpleasant circumstances”.

“Don’t worry”, Sofiko coldly replied, “that’s our job, after all”.

“I suppose so”, the mayor said. “I hope your day was productive enough. If you need anything, let me know”.

“Thanks”, Merab replied. “But it’s not that we found much collaboration. People don’t seem keen to share anything”.

“It’s understandable, I guess”, the mayor replied. “The police commissioner told me the same. Let’s walk for a bit, if you don’t mind”, he had added pointing out to a path along the playground.

“Sure”, Merab replied. “Are such situations common?”.

“Oh, not at all”, the mayor answered. “There are always misunderstandings, of course. That’s usual in every place. But this a small and calm town, violence is rare here”.

“The church was built about ten years ago”, the mayor continued. “The land belonged to a Vanoran investor, who had been personally involved in the chemical plant in this province. After the factory closed, he sold his properties. Although I was not living here at the time, I believe that the move was surprising. Some families later moved here, they bought some abandoned farms nearby the old football stadium. They rarely participate in the community activities, as far as I know. Despite this, incidents are rare. About three years ago, there was an sad occurrence in which a Christian girl killed herself. A tragic but isolated incident”.

“Some of them describe other incidents”, Sofiko said, “such as graffiti on the church walls, or throwing stones against some of the houses in the past”.

“That may be true”, the mayor replied. “There is obviously an issue of both means and trust. In the last two decades, our town has lost about one third of its population. We have tried hard to revert that trend, but it hasn’t been easy. There has been an increase of criminal activity, particularly with some teenagers, who may cause some problems. We have limited financial means to deal with those problems. On the other hands, there is a problem with some families, as some parents reject to bring their children to the school, as they claim that the textbooks are anti-Christian and other reasons. We have been pushed by the governorate on this and other problems, but we can’t do as much as we would like to. In any case, I don’t think this incident was not caused by some troubled teens, whatever the motivations were”.

“I feel that’s right”, Merab said. “But we need to be sure. Was there any similar incident recently?”.

“Not that I’m aware”, the mayor insisted. "At the beginning, people were rather indifferent, I must say. In the last years however, tensions occassionally increased, particularly as some young people, particularly girls, joined the community. The neighbors weren't too happy about that. There were, of course, conflicts from both sides. There were a huge fuss two years ago, after some Christian children called "vampire" an assistant priestess who was on pilgrimage to a nearby shrine. I had to personally intervene to avoid any confrontation".

Merab erupted in a short but noisy laugh. "Those tiny demons!".

"However, while such rare conflicts have happened", the mayor insisted, "they rarely result in any violent incident. We take them very seriously...Anyway, I have to return to my duties, I’m afraid. But if you need anything more, you can call my office. I’ll help you in anything I can”.

“Understood”, Merab replied. “I’ll do so”.

“What do you think?”, Sofiko asked Merub after the mayor had left.

“Without valuable witnesses, there is not much we can do”.

“Are we leaving with empty hands?”, Sofiko asked.

Merab shrugged. “We are losing our time here. The governorate wanted to do something, and we did so. Look, I am not willing to spend a third day in this place. Let’s move, Otar must be waiting already”.

“Alright”, Sofiko said.

“Oh”, Otar said, “Detective! You are here”.

“So we are, indeed”, Merab replied. “So when will we receive the results?”.

“I’m not sure”, Otar replied. “The samples were sent to Tsnumi, there should be about in a week?”.

“You took them, what’s your opinion”, Merab insisted.

“Well, in appearance, the ingredients were quite simple, but there had some addictive that make the flame and the fires much more corrosive and adhesive. Whover prepared them, he knew what he was doing”.

“Any similar attacks in the past?”, Sofiko asked.

“Not that I know”, Otar answered. “But the person, or people, behind, probably had some particular formation or experience. That’s the reason it could cause that much damage on the main door and so quickly. Without the backdoor, it would have likely resulted in a more deadly result”.

“Maybe someone who had military formation?”, Sofiko asked again.

“Yes, that’s possible”, Otar replied. “Particularly, someone that received specific training. But it’s only a guess”.

“Sure, that only leaves half of the population out”, Merab replied.

“Not that much, I’d say…”, Otor replied. “But it wouldn’t enough in itself. Was the information about the tires useful?”.

“Not really”, Merab replied. “There are more than one hundred motorbikes like that in the area. Maybe your men can continue this search”.

“I guess so”, Otar replied. “You can ask the police commissioner. But it’s a very popular model around here”.

“What’s that smoke?”, Sofiko asked, as she saw  a dark smoke coming from the other side of the town.

“Oh”, Otar, “there is nothing much there...Just the river. I guess they must be burning brushwood”.

“Well”, Merab said, “we rather go. We need to visit those houses nearby the petrol station before returning to the motel.

“Alright”, Otar replied, “Good luck! I’ll go back to the police station as well.

“Thanks!”, Sofiko said. “See you tomorrow”.

Meanwhile, the next morning in Ktsatskuri, capital city of the Unitary State of Mktvartvelo...

“We have arrived, sir”, the chauffeur said, as he parked his car in front of the embassy of Samantra.

The car had a more compact look that other government vehicles, being one model particularly used by Mktvartvelo’s Ministry of National Defense.

“Alright, call the embassy we are here”, Vazha Virsaladze replied. “I’ll wait outside”.

Tsiteligoraki district, Azavrelia

"Nonsense", Ketilshobili Shengelaia said. "Your daughter at 20 has already started adulthood. It is already time to prepare her future".

"That is what I thought, indeed", Imedi Vachnadze said. "I don't want to rush it, of course, but it's time to think about it".

"Sure, we have to done it carefully, of course", Ketilshobili replied. "However, although it is understandable, the youth has too many delusions nowadays".

"That's true, Mrs. Shengelaia", Imedi said.

"You can address me directly, my dear", Ketilshobili replied, "as I hope that, sooner than later, some of our blood will help to give form a being carrying yours".

"Of course!", Imedi replied. "That's my wish. Although it may be too soon, but I hope that will be the case. Tinatin is the brightest of my children, I can say proudly, and I am sure she will be a great mother...between many things".

"I'm sure that will be the case!", Ketilshobili replied. "You have met my nephew I'm the past, I was told, he has only grown stronger in the last years. Despite his youth, he has already started to gain her own position. It is expected that he will soon have a more active role either here or in the capital city. He has a great future, but he still need to gain experience before considering greater goals. Our main business are likely to be in good hands for a while, fortunately, but eventually younger blood will be needed. And nothing helps more to secure that experience to have the right person on your side, you may know well".

"Indeed...", Imedi said. "Your nephew seems to be a promising man. I'm certain that he will be".

"Certainly", Ketilshobili added. "And regarding with we were mentioning a few moments ago", she continued, "as a young woman of her time, I'm sure that, despite some doubts natural at her age, your daughter probably awaits to enjoy becoming a full citizen sooner than later".

"She probably does, indeed", Imedi said, "I know she does...".

"Anyway", Ketilshobili added, "if you don't mind we leave our main topic for one moment. How is your brother doing?".

"Oh", Imedi replied. "he's doing fine but very busy these days, as you can imagine...We met last week, as he was here before going back to Ktsatskuri".

"I can imagine!", Ketilshobili said. "It's being almost a year since the last time I saw him, send him my greetings and late congratulations for the birth of Givi".

"I'll do", Imedi replied.

"I have trust on him and I'm sure the Council of State gained a lot with him", Ketilshobili continued. "I'm convinced that he is going to be one of the members who will help to take the right decision".

"Of course", Imedi replied. "He takes his role very seriously, I'm aware. It's a honour for all the family".

"However", Ketilshobili added, "I'm concerned about some of the things are being said these days. I have lived enough to remember rougher times, even if I was only a teen in the 1970s. It seems some people are willing to do some analogies about one's ancestors did one century ago, and not about much recent and more obvious ones...While I respect and admire the Prime Minister for his work and experience, of course, but I feel that it would be better, as our nation's history proves, that the main offices of our nation, particularly the most important ones, are separated by both blood and personal interest. Anyway, send my good wishes and our confidence to your brother as soon as it is possible. We can continue with our main affair. Excuse me".

"No worries!", Imedi exclaimed. "I'll do so, of course".

Prime Minister's Office, Ktsatskuri

"I'm sorry", Minister Levan Gamsakhurdia said, "but my meeting with my cousin's wife took longer than I expected".

"It's fine", Prime Minister Gela Berdzenishvili replied. "I hope at least the meetings was productive enough".

"I heard your cousin's father-in-law is not that in good terms with others Metevze, however", intervened Deputy Minister Chrdilan Meskhishvili. "It's always good to gain another vote, but it would be harder to mobilize the rest of them".

"Yes, that be the case", Gela said, "but they should be aware about the door that may be opening for them as well".

"Any late information?", Levan inquiried.

"Not much", Chrdilan replied. "My source told me that Mrs. Bendukidze's supporters were included to at least 31 members. Mr. Djorbenadze seems to confirm as our main rival as his support may have increased to 14-18 members, depending whom you were talking about. And I can say that Your Excellency have increased to 11 voters as a third option".

"That's a honour", Gela said. "Anyway, I hope they follow our people's advice as the final vote gets closer. Anything more?".

"Not much", Chrdilan answered. "It seems that the Tbagaqinuli may make it as well, as she has gained the support of the Ertviani it seems, as well as some permanent deputies appointed during Endzela's reign...I was not that some of the oldest members would be difficult to gain as her mother died a few years ago".

"It would be a weird choice...", Levan said, "but I hope the tradition is in your favour".

"Some representatives from the clergy seemed to be behind Tavadze", Chrdilan continued. "He would be a hard rival at the end, but elected members may not be to keen for his candidacy".

"You mean the judge?", Levan asked.

"Indeed", Chrdilan replied.

"I hope you are right", Gela added. "He would be a seriously problematic choice for us. I may need to talk with my sister".

"There were other names which were mentioned", Chrdilan continued, "particularly from the Gabedi, the Pridoni, and the Metevze, but their chances probably weakened in the last day, I was told".

"Well, it does not sound too bad", Gela replied. "We can't force this too much, after all, it could be backfire. Let's be prudent and hope all the hard work gives us a good result, for us and our nation, of course".

"Indeed, Your Excellency", Chrdilan replied.

"Well", Levan added, "at the end, it may be easier that it seemed only a few weeks ago. The numbers may the safer than I expected. Postponing this moment wasn't that required, after all...".

"It's too early to say", Gela said. "Let's hope that's the case".

"Indeed", Levan replied. "But we could be about to secure our position and plans for, maybe, a long time. It will be easier to fulfill them with those guarantees".

"Yes, Levan", Gela said. "It will save us so much time and effort...We will be able to move forward without more serious obstacles. That day may have finally come".

OOC explainer: Although it is not public knowledge, Mktvartvelo will elect a new head of state in the coming weeks. This RP is planned to serve as an introduction of some main characters, and it will mosty take place in a Charity Ball in downtown Ktsatskuri (Mktvartvelo's capital city). You can send any characters of your nation who are living in Mktvartvelo and would be likely to be invited to such event (such as diplomats, businessmen, commercial or special interest representatives, etc). You can take this as a chance for a first contact between your nation and Mktvartvelo, maybe in view of future diplomatic initiatives, or even lobbying for or gaining the favour of a particular character. However, formal diplomatic negotiations are not the purpose of this RP. Although alternate meetings in a different space for related purposes at the time of the RP can be ok (as long they have a proper reason). You can PM if you have any suggestion or question.

No applications are needed to participate, assuming your(s) character(s) have a legit reason to be there. The next post will be an introduction to the event, so can introduce your characters after that. Although the RP may continue afterwards, however, this RP has a practical deadline of November 15th as far on effects on Mktvartvelo's coming events is concerned.

"Ah, you finally arrived", Levan Gamsakhurdia, Mktvartvelo's Minister of Defense, as he soon as he saw the man he had been waiting for more than a hour descending from his helicopter.

"Excuse me", Prime Minister Gela Berdzenishvili said, "it took me more time than I expected to leave Ktsatskuri.

"I understand", the minister replied. "Lieutenant Oganez", he said, "you can return to your tasks".

"Yes, sir", the officer said.

"The road to Parulibumi is down there", Levan explained, "we can talk while we arrive".

"Yes, sure", Gela replied. "Don't you want to ruin the grass?", he added.

"No, it is not that...", Levan answered with a force smile. "This whole business feels like entering in a dangerous territory".

"I don't deny it, Levan", Gela tried to explain himself. "Does anyone of your men...does anyone here know it?", he suddenly asked changing of topic.

"Not really", Levan answered. "Only Lieutenant-Colonel Nasaridze, the doctors, and the team which did the transfer, as well as the medical team at Ktsatskuri know what happened. It is lucky that he arrived at night, so only a few people of the hospitals have an idea about what happened. Or rather, who they are hosting".

"Do you trust them?", Gela inquiried.

"As most I could in the current circumstances", Levan answered. "As I told you, I assured that the team was formed by our men". 

"What about Nasaridze?", Gela asked. "He is married with your niece, isn't it? I never trusted the Shemkmneli".

"Well", Levan replied, "he owes me a few favours. And Eteri is waiting a child now, so I trust that he hasn't an entirely Shemkmneli perspective, you could say...".

"I hope you're right, Levan", Gela replied, "I hope you're right".

"But I feel you...we're playing with fire", Levan tried to argue. "This could seriously backfire".

"I know, I know", Gela replied, while realizing that the grass was much more muddier than he expected. "Right now, this transition[1] couldn't arrive at the worst moment. We can't allow that it ruins all we have been working so hard".

"Besides", Gela continued, "If your brother hadn't screwed it up last Qinvalisi[2], we would be in a much more comfortable situation".

"I know, I know...", Levan replied. "But what do you plan to do now? Try to keep him alive until Gardamavali[3]?".

"That would be helpful, but don't be absurd", Gela argued. "We need to gain some time. If we move quickly and wisely, we can avoid our current disadvantage. It may be easier to play our cards when nobody knows that the game has started".

"Let's hope you're right", Levan simply replied.

"Has his situation changed since our call?", Gela asked.

"Not at all, as long as I know", Levan answered. "He remains stable, after he was brought into medically induced coma. The doctors seem confident that he will remain so for the rest of the week".

"We were lucky that Nino agreed to sign that authorization five weeks ago", Gela said. "It fell like golden fruits from the Tree of Life...".

"What can I say?", Levan simply added. "The car is there".

"Good morning, Tariel", he added to the man standing in front of the car".

"Good morning, sir", the man replied. "Good morning as well, Your Excellency", he said when he saw Prime Minister Berdzenishvili".

"Good morning...", Gela replied. "Let's move. How far is the hospital?".

"Not too far I'd say...", Levan tried to remember, although he was too visibly nervous to find the right answer.

"It's about twenty minutes, considering the condition of the roads around him, sir", Turiel intervened.

"Alright", Gela. "Let's hope you are right...Let's hope we are all right", he added, the second sentence almost said for himself.

The main classification, the one by which the winner of the Jugland's Ladies Tour is determined. It is decided by totalling the time each rider takes on the daily stages. The rider with the lowest overall time at the last stage is the overall winner of the Jugland's Ladies Tour. The leader of the general classification wears the pink jersey.



The Points classification is a secondary competition, with points being given for high finishes in each stage. The rider with most points overall at the end of the Jugland's Ladies Tour becomes the overall winner of the Points classification. The leader of the points classification wears a green jersey.



The Youth classification is another secondary competition. It works as the same as the General classification, only that for riders aged 25 or younger. The leader of the youth classification wears a white jersey.



The team classification is a secondary prize given to the best team in the Jugland's Ladies Tour. The team classification is calculated by adding the times of the three best riders of each team per stage. Only teams that finish the Tour with three or more riders can win the classification.

"Don't you think that you have already helped him enough?", Eya replied, while her mother was trying to hold her back. "What about me? Am I going to remain here?".

"Your brother is the future of our family", Oyono argued, "whatever you understand it or not. And now let me rest, I have to leave this midnight".

"I do not wish to get trapped here for long", Eya complained. "Liza is living in Enmedyè and she told me she know some place where I could stay for a while".

"There is no way that we will allow you to move there alone!", Ocha'a interrupted her.

"You should prepare to get marry soon", Oyono said, "you are already old enough after all".

"Now", he added before she had time to reply, "go back to the shop, clients may be waiting".

"Sure...", an annoyed Eya replied.

Djabidjan is a country located in northern Ardia. A former colony of the Ardian Empire until 1940, later a protectorate following the Treaty of Podlo, it obtained independence in 1956. Private communication

As you probably know, the state assembly of the State of Emrta, elected by the people of Emrta and under the powers and rights granted by the constitution of the Federal Union of Jugland, after recovered the self-government that it was lost in 1901, has decided to restore the Charter of Amvkhar (1849), incorporated in the State Constitution of the State of Emrta, which was recently approved and ratified by both the legislative bodies -both state and federal- as well as the people of Emrta through a referendum.

Therefore I announce, as Governor of Emrta, under the Article 14 of the state constitution of the State of Emrta, the proclamation of the Grand-Duchy of Emrta, as a constituent member state of the Federal Union of Jugland. For that reason, I invite you to attend, to the ceremony of proclamation of the first constitutional ruler of our state. We hope that this modest ceremony, which will be held in the state assembly and a subsequent dinner in the Varselgodt Palace, where the original Charter of Amvkhar was signed 172 years ago, which we hope that will symbolize a new promising future of unity and reconciliation for our people in both Emrta and the Federal Union of Jugland as a whole.
