Quintelian Factbook
« on: August 30, 2017, 06:28:52 AM »

Background
Quintelia, officially the Kingdom of Quintelia, is an ethnically, culturally, and religiously diverse agricultural nation. Officially, there are 405 tribes and 102 minor languages recognized by the government. The western and northern borders to SICR and New Derusmia respectively are formed by mountain ranges and thick jungle while the southern border to Kodumaa is mostly covered by forests. The interior plains abundant with rivers and fertile land perfect for farming and city-building. The eastern coasts are lined with swamps, sandy beaches, and oilfields.

Officially founded as a democracy in 1898 after 278 years of being an Ecclesiastical Colony, the nation has experienced periods of unrest with short intervals of peace thanks to compromises between tribes and factions. The Lungsod Mutiny of 2011 was the last major unrest the nation has experienced; a revolution that led to the ascension of King Lapu as a monarch.

    NATIONAL ANTHEM OF QUINTELIA

    Land of the morning
    Child of the sun returning
    With fervor burning
    Thee do our souls adore.

    Land dear and holy,
    Cradle of noble people,
    No invader shall
    Trample thy sacred shores.

Ever within thy skies and through thy clouds
    And o’er thy hills and seas;
    Where no red shall be found;
Do we behold thy radiance, feel the throb
    Of glorious liberty.

Thy banner dear to all hearts
    Its sun and stars alright,
Oh, never shall its shining fields
    Be dimmed by tyrants might.

Beautiful land of love, oh land of light,
    In thine embrace ’tis rapture to lie;
But it is glory ever when thou art wronged
For us thy sons to suffer and die.

    THE QUINTELIAN TRIBES

    THE WEWAZKANGZANDHIT TRIBE

    Brief History

The Wewazkangzandhit, or Wewazkangz, is a tribe that has existed for millennia. Although a small tribe, by the coast, they grew to be the most dominant tribe in the coasts. They even controlled the Stormontian Empire for a brief period.

After an outbreak of disease, the tribe declined and was pushed of to the coasts. When the Ecclesiasticals arrived, they allied and with them until after independence. When the Merrits ruled, most of them were killed off during the genocide. The tribe regained the population and by 2010, regained the control of the nation. Now, members are considered nobles of the nation.

    Quick Facts
    Tribal Chief: Ferdinand "Lapu" Adartse
    Headquarters: The Hut
    Number of Members: 7,000

    HQ: The Hut

The Hut is a century old building that is built where the throne was. It is intended to be a 'self-sustaining'

with the Minister Hall Towers brightly lit.

Lungsod City is the capital and the third largest city of Quintelia with a population of 5,360,000. It houses important political buildings such as The Palace, The Minister Hall Towers, and the Supreme Court as well as the former Congress building. Along with government buildings and corporate headquarters are religious centers such as Lungsod Cathedral, The Golden Mosque, and a Bene Gesserit library. Tribal headquarters like that of Wewazkangz-andhit Temple and Ecija Tribe House of Faith are also found here.

The name "Lungsod City" is tautological, as "Lungsod" literally means "city." However, written records from the 1100s depicted the city as "Ang Lungsod" or "The City" as it was the only permanent settlement in the region.

Lungsod was founded by the Wewazkangz-andhit Tribe in 78 A.D. by King Taga-tayo both as a permanent settlement for his tribe and as a trading center as well. History WIP In 1620, Ecclesiastical missionaries "discovered" Lungsod. History WIP

The Caste Tribal Temple, which is in the geographicla center of the city, and is also part of the Caste Tribe Temple Complex, complete with a large enclouser for macaques, which is considered holy for the tribe.

Laurel City is one of the fastest growing cities in Quintelia, with a newborn in Laurel City every five minutes. That’s why it has a population of 9,546,690 people. The city is also a center for scientific and technological development as the university belt, an avenue with six different universities are located, is in the city. These universities are: Univerity of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Lungsod University, the De La Salle University, Centro Escolar University, Far Eastern University, and the Polytechnic University of Quintelia. There are also countless laboratories for research and for helping the scholars in the universities finish their thesis.

    Remnants of the Fort Bonifacio

Fort Bonifacio City, named after the walled city and barracks the Ecclesiastical State established in the outskirts of Lungsod. Originally called Fort Santiago, it was renamed to Fort Bonifacio after the Quintelian revolutionary and first president Andres Bonifacio. Fort Bonifacio, previously colloquially known as "The Fort", quickly grew to be the center of business and commerce of Quintelia. This was until the Lungsod Mutiny in 2010, with most of the fighting taking place in Fort Bonifacio in an attempt by Lapu's men to take over key positions. Air strikes on the city turned the once center of commerce  became ruins.

7,889,215 currently living in the Fort, with 57% of the population being under the poverty line. Most of the Fort's current citizens were once part of the upper class who lost all of their possessions after the Mutiny, blaming King Lapu for their misfortune. The cities surrounding the Fort also dump their trash in landfills near the slums.

The nations and organizations will be rated on a scale of 0 to 10, with 0 being hostile and 10 being excellent relationships.

Public opinion percentages will be based on politically active Quintelians. Politically apathetic Quintelians, kids, and severely mentally ill are not counted.

    Ecclesiastical State: 9
    Diplomatic Relationship:
First nation to recognize Quintelia as a sovereign nation.
Colonized Quintelia, but brought religion and modern tech.
Currently, a treaty of friendship is signed by both nations.

    Public Opinion:
Being majority Catholic, 89% of public view ES as an ally, with the exception of the extreme nationalists, comprising of 5% of the population, seeing ES as an evil imperialist while the extreme left, compromising of 6% of the population, generalizes ES as bigoted.

    Ui Cenneslaig: 9

Both nations, along with neighboring SICR and New Derusmia, agree to build railway lines to the four nations.

    Public Opinion:
Being the nation that launched Quintelia's first satellites, the public views UC positively. The general populace has a strong preference on Cenneg liquor rather than Quintelian iterations. Anti-BG Quintelians, comprising of 1% of the population, see Ui Cenneslaig as a threat and consider them as protectors of terrorists.

Both nations are founding members of SANE
Both nations agree to build railways lines to their respective nations

    Public Opinion:
Heavy government censorship and human rights violations have severely affected the public perception of SICR. Only 49% of the nation views SICR in a positive light, with both left-leaning and libertarian sides see SICR as an authoritarian dictatorship. Very few tribes by the Quintelian-SICR borders perceive Wilderjaegen as threats, with most seeing them in a neutral or positive light as trading partners.

Socialist Federation of New Derusmia: 9
    Diplomatic Relationship:
A treaty of friendship is signed between the two nations.
Both nations are founding members of SANE
