To the Mundus Sports Community,
It is my pleasure to invite the Mundus Sports Community to the Khemnen-Setri Games Park. Originally constructed to host the 2022 Mundus Games I have received messages from people across the Clysperi Kingdom that we should, once again, put forth a bid to host the Games. I have read countless stories from my People, from everyday members of the Public and athletes, both professional and aspiring, which have moved me to make this decision. Thus, once again, the Kingdom extends the warmest of invitations to the cities of Setri and Khemnen, amidst the Pyramids of Nafu and the Great Sphinx, for the 2023 Mundus Games.
Sport and competition has long played a key role in Clysperi culture. From the earliest days of our People, in the lands of Abydos, competition formed a large part of our cultural identity. In those days it was not competitors from other nations, it was the environment itself. Through ingenuity and innovation, and the waters of the Ḥ'pī, Clysperis arose from the desert. In modern times we see that same innovation continue, first in the Setri Project and then continued through the development of the Setri-Khemnen Games Park. Athletes, trainers and officials will enjoy a truly remarkable experience in the Park’s Athletic Village which, following the conclusion of the games, will be utilized as affordable housing for the descendants and victims of the institutions of servitude.
Should the Clysperi bid be accepted CSMC are prepared to be the Main TV Rights Holders.

The New Century Stadium, with a capacity of 90,000, has received a grand overhaul from its former architecture typical of Soviet planning. LED lights sip power provided by the forward-looking Setri power grid, a city which has been designed to be smart and harmonious with the environment around it. If selected as the hosts for the Summer Games the New Century Stadium will be utilized for the opening and closing ceremonies, football and rugby events finals events.

In addition to New Century Stadium the Kingdom is utilizing the facilities of Nafu Stadium, Valley Ridge Stadium, the Tri City Stadium and the Ramses V Stadium (below) to host football matches. Not pictured are two facilities within the Khemnen Metropolitan Region, keeping the Games within reach of the cultural heart of the Kingdom of Clysperis with access for guests to a variety of shops, accommodations and lodging options. The newly restored Great Sphinx will also be revealed during the Games, a moment the Kingdom has been working toward thanks to a collective effort of local and foreign donors to see it returned to its former glory following a gross disfigurement during the Soviet occupation.

With a capacity of 82,000 athletics and field events will take place in Khemnen International Stadium. While outside of the Games Park Clysperis will be utilizing a fleet of electric and renewable vehicles to transport athletes to and from events at the Khemnen International Stadium, furthering our commitment to an environmentally harmonious Mundus Games.

Khemnen-Setri Aquatics Centre
Featuring a Games Standards swimming pool, a diving pool featuring 1, 3, 5, and 10 meter high jumping tower, training pool, a social building and open and covered amphitheaters the Khemnen-Setri Aquatics Centre will be utilized for swimming and diving. The Centre also features youth pools and will be used to inspire our next generation of athletes as they begin their own careers once the Summer Games have concluded. [Capacity: 16,000.]

The river Ḥ'pī will host rowing events. The Ḥ'pī represents in many ways the vital artery of Clysperi civilization, providing for our needs in what would otherwise be a desert lacking the variety of vegetation we see in the Ḥ'pī valley. The banks of the Ḥ'pī provide ample opportunities for spectators to view the Games, which will be utilized for sailing and rowing.

Turning our eyes back to Khemnen we've chosen the Khemnen Sports Complex for gymnastics and boxing events. This modern Complex provides ample data connections to ensure those sharing their experiences at the Games can keep in touch with their loved ones, and favourite social media platforms. [Capacity: 30,000]

I am reminded of perhaps the unique power of sport to bring together peoples and nations, setting aside differences in belief and politics in the pursuit of accomplishment and great feats. Let us join together to see dreams born and realized, and continue the proud history and traditions of the Mundus Games. As they say it is better to be late than never, as such I look forward to welcoming Mundus to Clysperis for what I hope will be a most memorable Mundus Games. Thank you all.

Doctor Donna Steele (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg7396#msg7396): “Hello I’m Doctor Donna Steele, lecturer in archaeology at the Achkaerin University of arts and culture and national representative to the CETO, it’s my distinct honour to introduce the Achkaerinese bid for the 2023 Mundus Games.
The ruins of Moonvale around me are much like those of many other ancient ruins found across Mundus, but what makes ruins like these special are the stories they tell. It’s quiet now but thousands of years ago people from the seven realms put their weapons down and came to this place to compete against each other in competitions of speed, strength and endurance. Here under the gaze of the Goddesses and their heralds, from Luna Isle just across the water there, did they discover that the battlefields they were used to at the time were not the only places where victories could be found, that they could be found through friendly competition what we today call sport. Moonvale’s story comprises the first chapters of the journey of a sporting competition from humble origins here on the banks of a lake to an international scale more than likely thought impossible all those thousands of years ago, but here we are for what will be the tenth time the Mundus Games as we know them in their modern incarnation are happening, once again the flame of Yve the Phoenix will travel from its shrine on Luna Isle to the host of the Games that much is certain where it will end up is not. Moonvale may be the ancestral home but much has changed since competitors ran around this place, more events, different events, new events. All that’s left for me to do is hand over to some familiar faces to take you around our proposed venues and everything else.”

Foxton Lake (Rowing)
George Austin (Rower): “Just a stones throw from Moonvale is where you find me here at the southern end of Foxton Lake, home to the national Achkaerinese Championship rowing regatta and proposed venue for the rowing competition at this years Mundus Games. With grandstand seating for five thousand people and plenty of overflow for those that wish to stand and watch or even bring a picnic blanket to sit on the banks and watch, it produces quite the atmosphere and these calm waters produce an ideal racetrack for the competition.”

Coral Coast (Sailing & Surfing)
Cerys Azurewind (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg199#msg199): “The Coral Coast in the west of Achkaerin is a surfing hotspot for the nation, and as a member of the Achkaerinese surfing team it’s somewhere I spend a fair bit of time. This beautiful water is where we propose hosting the sailing and surfing events for this years Mundus Games, with seating capacity for eight thousand spectators and a fair amount of beach and coastline for overflow creates a situation where anyone who wants to spectate more than likely can spectate.”

Legacy Sports Centre (Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo, Weightlifting, Karate, Mixed Martial Arts)
Esme Azurewind (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg192#msg192): “Moving now to the main geographic area of our bid, the city of Valtheim, capital of the nation. We begin here in the spacious Legacy Sports Centre with construction finished on this in 2018 making it a relatively new building, the home to the Legacy Sports Foundation, this is where wounded members of the Achkaerinese military come to terms with their injuries through the medium of sport, the very nature of the Foundation’s mission allows for the possibility to host multiple events in this building at the same time. It’s here we propose to host the weightlifting, judo, taekwondo, mixed martial arts and my personal favourite the boxing, when I was the junior national strawweight champion I was fortunate enough to fight in arena’s of decent size, the atmosphere they generated was on a level I’d never felt before, this arena is larger still with capacity for thirty thousand total across all the respective parts of it. There’s no doubt in my mind that when competitors need that extra shot of adrenaline or drive to keep going they’ll get that from the energy and roar of those watching.”

Valtheim Raven’s Nest (Basketball, Netball, Handball)
Hope Shearney (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg6489#msg6489): “Welcome to the Raven’s Nest, home to the Valtheim Ravens Basketball teams on both the mens and womens side of the sport and where the Valtheim Meteors play their home games in the netball superleague, packed out game day after game day. There are several courts within the facility from show courts to practice areas, making it an ideal venue for not only basketball and netball to take place at the Mundus Games but also handball. Each court area has seating capacity which varies however for the Games the total seating capacity will be fifteen thousand across all the courts. The building itself dates originally back to the 1980’s but has in more recent times undergone an extensive renovation to provide greater accessibility and inclusiveness for fans.”

Aquarius Park (Baseball)
Thomas McIvey (Baseball Player): “Of all the team sports that happen at the Mundus Games, baseball is probably the one with the least exposure in Achkaerin but a semi professional league does exist and we do play in arena’s like this one, home to the Valtheim Mariners and Mermaids and seating twenty five thousand fans, Aquarius Park is a proven stadium with years of use to its name, it was built in 1990 and holds many baseball attendance records in Achkaerin.”

Blacksmith’s Cricket Ground (Cricket and Archery)
Matthew Middens (Cricketer): “Built in its original form in 1810 and home to Rosemoor Cricket Club, Blacksmith’s Cricket Ground is the oldest cricket ground in the country, named after the profession that the great Titus Azurewind pursued before having the crown thrust upon his head. It seats just over thirty thousand spectators in its stands and is the regular venue for the Cricket Championship Grand Final. So it’s no surprise that this is where we propose hosting the cricket for this years Mundus Games, it’s also where we propose to host the archery recurve events.”

Braves Parade Grounds (Beach Volleyball, Equestrian dressage, showjumping, puissance and jousting)
Tim Arlington (Beach Volleyball): “The greatest challenge venue wise for us is where to host the beach volleyball. Our proposed venue for that event and for several equestrian events is the Braves Parade Grounds, the venue is essentially a large open, sandy space and the official headquarters of the Royal Guard Regiment and is mainly used for routine drills and on state occasions, the whole thing dates back to the mid eighteenth century. With the addition of temporary grandstands for the games this venue will be able to accommodate eight thousand spectators while accommodation for the competing horses is provided by the barracks stables.”

Memorial Park and the Streets of Valtheim (Road Cycling, Horseback Archery, Triathlon, athletics Cross Country and Marathon, swimming Open Water, Mountain Biking, Equestrian cross country, Polo, BMX and Skateboarding)
Molly Cooper (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg17136#msg17136): “One of the best things about the Mundus Games is that some of the events lend themselves to showcasing the host city just as much as the individual venues, my event the triathlon is one of those, it starts with the swim leg here in Angel Lake and then a technical cycling circuit around the city streets which passes several notable landmarks before a run around the lake to conclude the race. The park will also play host to the cross country events both in the athletics program and the equestrian one, both courses designed to provide a challenge to competitors while also ensuring safety for all concerned as well as utilising the same equestrian course for the horseback archery events while elements will also feature in the mountain biking. The skateboarding events will take place at the northern end of the park in a newly built state of the art skate park which will be incorporated into the national sports DNA program following the Games, while in the centre of the park the polo event will be held, and Angel Lake will also host the open water swimming and the parks BMX facility will host the BMX events. The marathon events will follow the same course as that for the annual Valtheim marathon, a twenty six mile run through the city starting in Memorial Park and weaving around the streets before finishing at the Queen’s Arch. The road cycling course runs from the town of Ivyfield and down the country roads, featuring plenty of hills before entering Valtheim and swinging around the ‘four gates’ and their cobbled hills before a final dash down Lighthouse Avenue and finishing at the Marble Palace. The time trial course follows the latter part of the road racing course.”

Goddess’s Court (Medieval MMA)
James Chase (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg17137#msg17137): “In ages gone by, the Goddess’s Court otherwise known as the Great Arena was probably best described as the place to be when it came to entertainment, thousands of citizens would pack themselves into the seats here to watch gladiatorial contests, to see if those fighting would live or die, some were criminals, some were soldiers and some were just looking to make money and being a gladiator did pay well for the time. The last time a duel was in here, not counting reenactments? The end of the Achkaerinese civil war, Djana Azurewind against Caleb Elsif and the fate of the nation in the balance. So in this arena, on this soil, we propose to host the Medieval Mixed Martial Arts events. We can seat five thousand spectators in the arena and don’t be fooled by the appearance, it may well be the oldest building on Mundus to ever be proposed as a venue for a Mundus Games event but it’s more than up to the challenge.”
Abigail Snowden Arena (Gymnastics, Fencing, Rock Climbing)
Erin Brooks (Gymnast): “Sitting on the banks of the river Seraphim, the Abigail Snowden Arena, formerly known as the National Sports Centre, is one of the more modern buildings we propose as a host venue. In this case we plan to host the gymnastics events in the same vein as we do the national championships here year on year. We also plan to take advantage of the secondary gymnasium space to host the fencing events and use the high ceilings to hold the rock climbing events, the two main gymnasium’s can sit between them thirty thousand people while the space we’re setting aside for the rock climbing can sit eight thousand people. The person this building is named after was Achkaerin’s most renowned gymnast and holds a little piece of Mundus Games history in being the only person to win gold on all four artistic apparatus, the team all around and the individual all around in the same games. So I invite everyone competing this year to take up that spirit and make their own history.”

The Fox’s Den (Football)
Julia McCabe (Achkaerin Men’s Football Manager): “For the football fans in Achkaerin this is hallowed ground, not surprising considering that football is the national sport, it has a maximum capacity of 90,000 seats, it hosts several domestic football finals each year and has played host to several World Cup fixtures including a final, it is a proven venue. Given the very likely probability that one stadium won’t be enough to keep to the Games schedule we’re planning on using other stadia to ensure the fixtures can happen as needed specifically - Leonaise Arena (capacity 54,000), Cherrywood Lane (capacity 32,000), Lion Bridge (capacity 75,000) and White Ridge Road (capacity 38,000).”

Charity Lane (Rugby Sevens)
Rayne Churchill (Achkaerin Mens Rugby Head Coach): “The home of Achkaerinese rugby, Charity Lane is our proposed venue for the rugby sevens competition. Boasting a maximum capacity of 68,000. Having been built in 1923 the stadium celebrates its centenary this year, it’s seen a fair few tight games in that time including a few Confederation Cup matches so like most of our proposed venues it is tried and tested.”

Leith Sports College Hockey Field (Hockey)
Harry Thorpe (Hockey Player): “Home to Achkaerinese Hockey and shared with Leith Sports College to ensure it’s getting used all year round, the stadium was finished as part of the Sports DNA program in 2017 making it the newest building in our list of proposed event venues. It seats 20,000 people making it large for a college field but understandable on account of the national team usage, this usage makes it ideal location wise for the hockey tournament at this years Mundus Games.”
National Volleyball and Badminton Centre (Badminton and Volleyball)
Delphine Meadows (Volleyball Player): “The NVBC sits on the campus of the Valtheim Metropolitan University, it’s on a day by day basis split between the student body and members of the centre who use it to train for professional competition. This is where we hold national trials and championships on a yearly basis. The arena features ten court areas which for the purposes of the games will be split equally between badminton and volleyball when both events are ongoing however when that isn’t the case we will fully utilise the venue in favour of one over the other. The staff are experienced at turnarounds and swapping over events so we believe we can accomplish efficient use of this building with minimal disruption to the up to five thousand spectators that we can fit in here.”

All Achkaerin Tennis Club (Tennis and Spikeball)
Alice Walby (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg991#msg991): “When it comes to tennis you could be forgiven for thinking the Achkaerinese are a little on the weird side, maybe it’s the way we’ve played the game over the years or maybe it’s because as you can see here at the club our courts are most commonly grass courts, a surface that isn’t normally used for the Mundus Games, in fact if our bid is successful this would be the first time the tennis has been on grass. The club hosts the annual Achkaerin Open Tennis Championship which sees players from across Mundus compete for the title, there are 18 championship grass courts and a further twenty grass practice courts and eight practice clay and hard courts. So there are more than enough courts to accommodate both practice and competition play at the Games, we plan to use centre court with its capacity of 15,000, number one court with its capacity of 12,500 number two court with its capacity of 4,000 and number three court with its capacity of 2,000 to handle the singles competitions while using the outside courts, of similar capacity to number three court, to handle the significant number of doubles matches that the Games typically involve. In the event of the weather visiting adverse conditions upon the Games both centre court and number one court have roofs that can be closed thus ensuring completion of competition play. This venue is also proposed as the venue for the spikeball with competition starting on number one court with the medal matches planned for centre court.”

Royal University of Music Theatre (Snooker, Pool and Chess)
S’raia Starleton (Pool Player): “With a seating capacity of nine hundred and eighty this theatre is the smallest venue on our proposed bid but don’t underestimate the intimate atmosphere that this place generates when it comes to game time, when its not being used by students of the Royal University of Music or its own theatre company this wonderful venue plays host to the national pool and snooker championships. For the Games we therefore propose using this grand theatre as the venue for the pool and snooker competitions as well as the chess.”

Roundhill Shooting Centre (Shooting)
Arthur Downey (skeet shooter): Situated in the suburb of Roundhill on the outskirts of Valtheim is the Roundhill shooting centre, as gun clubs in Achkaerin go this has the largest membership and over the years has been where many notable Achkaerinese marksmen and markswomen have learned their craft, the indoor competition ranges can accommodate one thousand five hundred spectators, this is where the pistol and rifle competitions would be held, while the outdoor range which seats two thousand people will be the site of the skeet shooting and trap competitions.”

Leith Abbey (Medieval MMA)
Robin Amberbrook (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg953#msg953): “Just a handful of miles north of Valtheim stands the wondrous structure of Leith Abbey, or the ruins of it, in ages gone by this was the northern lookout point for the city of Valtheim, the first line of defence, it’s a popular tourist destination today but for the Games this is where we propose hosting the fortress battle event of the Medieval Mixed Martial Arts program, the surrounding field is large enough to comply with competition specifications and to allow for spectators to assemble and watch the event though given the nature of the event this will include big screens to watch the event as it unfolds within the Abbey.”

Valtheim Motocross Speedway (Motocross)
Daniel Topliss (Motocross rider): “Situated on the outskirts of the city is this motocross race track, it’s tight and technical with a few jumps, so it’ll provide quite the challenge for competitors as they race the many laps around to try to claim the gold medal. The seating capacity for the venue is five thousand.”

The Sammy Lawson Velodrome (Cycling)
Sammy Lawson (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg12398#msg12398): “I guess I could say welcome to my house, it’s a little weird having a velodrome named after me but here we are in the heart of the Valtheim, home to the Achkaerinese cycling program and with a capacity of seven thousand seats this is where we plan to host the track cycling program.”

Stingray Aquatic Centre (Swimming, Diving and Water Polo)
Becky Brittaine (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg19351#msg19351): “Named after the submersible from the Gerry Anderson show following a public vote the Stingray Aquatic Centre is the home of the Achkaerin swimming academy, it’s where I’ve trained throughout my career and it’s where two of my children train. At full capacity five thousand spectators will roar swimmers home, marvel at the exploits of world class divers and cheer the drama in the water polo. The centre has a competition specification pool which we propose to use for the swimming events, a diving pool equipped with one metre, three metre and five metre springboards as well as a ten metre platform and then there’s a separate pool area for the water polo matches.”

Djana Azurewind Stadium (Athletics and Field)
Gary Best (Athletics): “Seating up to ninety thousand people the Djana Azurewind Stadium is the home of Achkaerinese athletics, regularly hosting the national trials and championships as well as the University Challenge Series which it has done for the last fifteen years. This is where we propose hosting the Mundus Games athletics program as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.”

The Athletes Village
Empress Serenity Azurewind (https://independentorder.net/index.php?topic=49.msg170#msg170): “Last but by no means least we come to where athletes, coaches, physio’s and support teams would be living during the Games the athletes village, with easy access to travel routes to all the venues we propose to use as well as a pop up hospital specific for the village, we’re also grateful to the Valtheim Metropolitan University and the Royal Valtheim University who have made their sports complex’s available as training facilities for athletes during the Games and both are within the boundaries of the village. As we have submitted venues outside of Valtheim for some events we are proposing to establish similar athletes villages at Foxton and the Coral Coast to ensure that all the athletes, coaches and staff get to experience the sense of community that they’re so used to during competition. Following the Games each of these villages will become halls of residence for local universities. While our other venues will of course continue in their normal lives as regularly used sporting venues, regularly visited tourist attractions or places of drama.
If chosen to host this years Mundus Games we intend to produce the most accessible Games to date utilising not only an army of volunteers to help assist members of the public but also working from the technological end, the Achkaerinese Broadcasting Company, who if the bid is successful will be the main television rights holder, shall be running online streams of every event at the Games, fan zones shall be established throughout the city and across the nation to allow everyone to feel a part of the Games and an app featuring information on the venues, the event rules, the athletes and live updates will be available for download allowing fans to keep track of everything that’s going on around the Games. All our proposed venues utilise renewable energy sources to power them whether it be solar, wind or tidal energy. Our hope is to have an accessible and energy efficient Games that are contested in the same spirit as they always have been and that inspire the next generation of athletes. When the competitors traveled to Moonvale they did so under the protection of a sacred truce this tradition continues today and as Empress of Achkaerin I pledge that all are welcome to the Games there will be no refusal to those from nations we have troubled relationships with, we may go back to our respective corners after the Games are done but hopefully through the display of sport we see unfold we may find that we don’t end up in opposite corners of the metaphorical boxing ring but shaking hands and leaving with a better understanding of each other. This concludes the Achkaerinese bid for the 2023 Mundus Games, thank you for your consideration.”
