"Welcome", State Councillor Mangjul said with a smile while bowing slightly with a smile. He waited until they were led to the helicopter outside to open what had been offered to him. "A very gracious gift", Mangjul said, rather surprised by the content of the box.

A first minutes later, the helicopter was able to take off. "I assume you were able to observe it as your plane approached the airport, of course, but that's the western side of Gyeongseon, the largest city in our Great Kingdom", he explained. "There", he explained again as their helicopter was about the southern flank, "at the other side of the river, it is one of the largest refineries in the country. If you are curious, I'll be happy to show it on our way back".

"This is the large Geonjohangong Desert", he explained as they moved a few kilometres away from the surrounding urban centers. "The main natural gas and oil reserves are found here. We are hoping to increase our production in the coming years. Logistics, however, have posed some obstacles to that in the last decades, due to orography, and particularly by the large variation of temperatures, more than eighty degrees through the year. To this date, the extraction of oil here, in the Bukjjeo region, is mostly for national consumption, not importation. While there is the possibility to build pipelines which reach Cassiopeia through the east, and even connecting with the western Hwangsaeggi region through the Sesogjeongnamjjog pass, which would be able to reach Lijiang through Gungju, was considered too costly due to the elevation and irregular terrain".

"Finally, there in the horizon, you can see the Mount Moseoli, which has become one important tourist attraction in recent years", he explained. "At the other side, it starts the Baekje Plateau, on its northeastern side, where the Yeogaehanam region is located. The region is considerable smaller and their reserves may not be as vast as the ones found here, and although the terrain and climate poses similar challenges, the reduced size poses fewer obstacles for the transport of energy in both directions".

"If you haven't any question", State Councillor Mangjul suggested, "we may start our way back".

Sports: Women's Handball captain to head Mktvartvelo's delegation in Mundus Games

Eto Kordzaia, the 33-year old Mktvartvelo's women's handball team captain, was confirmed as Mktvartvelo's flag-bearer in the Valtheim Mundus Games.

"It is such a great honour, one that I couldn't have imagined", Kordzaia has declared.

The left-winger attacker had recently overcome some of the most complicated months in her career, after suffering a knee injury in last October and not renewing her contract with SK Gurjumi, which led her to join the Second Division club KKK Lagotsminda. She was not able to play her first match with her new club until March. Last month, she returned as women's handball team captain in a tour in preparation for the coming Valtheim Mundus Games.

Unexpectedly, she won her first trophy with her new club on May, after KKK Lagotsminda surprisingly defeated First Division SK Azavrelia by 28-27 in the Brzdmtsveli Cup final, with Kordzaia scoring five goals in the final. "It was like a dream coming true for us, something rather surreal, but we have certainly proven we are ready to play in the elite", said Kordzaia, who won her fifth Cup title in her career with that match. "Still, as wonderful as it was, we're only focused to bring this city to the First Division". Currently, KKK Lagotsminda is on the top of Second Division league, two points ahead of their rivals SK Sachkhumi. Last season, the club Lagotsminda finished third but was defeated in the promotion playoffs.

In late May, she returned with the national team, her first matches with the national team since the Azavrelia Mundus Games final. "It is not something I expected, as I was seriously thinking about my retirement a few months ago", Kordzaia declared. "These days, I have a different role in the national team compared to some years ago, obviously, bringing my experience. As usual, every match will be a final, but bringing the gold back home is our only thought and aim in these Mundus Games".

As soon as the women's handball national team for the Mundus Games became official, she was confirmed to be the flag-bearer representatives for the Mktvartvelo's delegation. However, there were some rumours that Kordzaia may be finally replaced, after a Kordzaia's controversial social media message in which she criticized police brutality against protesters. Notwithstanding, she was confirmed in the role after Eto Sulaberidze, the new minister of Sports and Civic Education, declared "Sports should be free from political decisions".

Mktvartvelo: Shota Samadashvili appointed as Prime Minister

Shota Samadashvili, 72, has been announced as Prime Minister. Samadashvili, a former diplomat who served as ambassador in countries such as Rokkenjima, Tytor, and Lodja, as well as being appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1997 to 1998. In 2002, he left the diplomatic career after being appointed to the Council of State by Brzdmtsveli Tamaz Japharidze.

Samadashvili has declared that his appointment is "a great honour but even greater responsibility, and we have the duty to row together to end divisions". Regarding the recent wave of protests, he has declared that "violence is always unacceptable" but has promised that one of the first projects of his administration will be a new education law, in which past experiences, experts, and the sector itself, will be balanced as much as possible".

His government will be formed mostly by independent ministers, most of them with experience in the professional sectors or academy, rather that current lawmakers or former ministers, which has led to many to call it a technocratic government. Merab Dvalishvili, who will leave his position as Chief of the General Staff to become Minister of National Defense, and businesswoman Makvala Bendukidze Makvala Bendukidze, who will serve as Minister of the Treasury as well as Deputy Prime Minister for National Development, are two of the noteworthy government appointments in Samadashvili's government.

Meanwhile, students unions have demanded the release of student representatives arrested in recent days in which they have described as a "anti-constitutional political process against civil society". They have warned that protests will continue if they are not released and negotiations with the authorities are officially announced.

Mktvartvelo: The government of Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze falls

Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze, after being received by Brzdmtsveli Ketevan, has announced his resignation as Prime Minister, barely ten days after being appointed as head of the government.

The morning started by large demonstrations in the main cities of the country, in which protesters demanded the dismissal of the Minister of Public Order and Security and the Minister of Justice, as well as the liberation of student representatives. In Ktsatskuri and Azavrelia, protesters and police clashed one again, leaving dozens of injured and more than two hundred protesters arrested.

Confused and tense hours followed, particularly after Dedamitsa newspaper affirmed in one article in their website that the government had agreed to mobilize the armed forces in the coming hours with the aim to protect government buildings in Ktsatskuri and Azavrelia. While the authors of the article assured they had evidence that the order had been sent from the Ministry of Public Order and Security, the national government did not confirm or deny that information.

Several members from the conservative block called for a declaration of state emergency by the National Assembly, and the office of Speaker Ramaz Kintsurashvili confirmed than an extraordinary session would be a possibility if a enough large number of MPs officially suggested it. However, according to Paktebi newspaper, Prime Minister Mokleadze's was reluctant of such parliamentary session as they feared that the government may not have a clear majority.

Mamuka Keburia has become Acting Prime Minister following Mokladze resignation as Prime Minister. It is expected, however, that he will replaced by a new Prime Minister after already five ministers have announced leaving their positions after the Prime Minister resignation.

Mktvartvelo: Minister of Education announces his resignation as violence escalates in Azavrelia

Mktvartvelo witnessed another day of violent protests, as anti-government protests resulted in clashes between police and protesters in Ktsatskuri and other cities, and riots in the city of Azavrelia, the largest city in Mktvartvelo.

Tensions started early in the morning, as police launched a series of raids in which about one hundred of student leaders and prominent youth organizers were arrested. The police also seized one of the headquarters of a student union in Ktsatskuri. A police spokesperson argued those arrested were investigated for charges including "criminal association and promotion of vandalism and organized violence". Between those arrested, there were also three members of the education branch of the All-Mktvartvelian Labour Union (SMSK), one of the largest unions in the country. SMSK condemned the arrests as "an unprecedented violation of constitutional rights".

About midday, a crowd gathered around Azavrelia Technical University and forced their entry into the building. It was rumoured that some leading activists who were in search by the local police were between the crowd, but this could not be confirmed by local media. After they were initially able to access the building, which was surrounded by a large crowd, riot police intervened, finally breaking into the premises and arrest most of the students who entered the building. A number of students, however, were able to escape by descending from the windows or backdoor of the building.

A large number of students in Azavrelia required hospitalization, including one student who remains in serious condition, according to a local newspaper. The intervention received harsh criticism, particularly after a recording was released of a policeman hitting a woman with his baton, without apparent previous interaction, was published by an online newspaper. In the evening, a large demonstration resulted in riots which lasted until midnight, in which cars and shops were severely damaged.

In the capital city, Ktsatskuri, there were clashes between police and protesters once again, although they were not as violent as in Azavrelia and other cities. Still, some of the windows of the Council of State were broken and damaged after the impact of some kind of homemade projectile, local authorities informed. There were no personnel hurt, however. In total, authorities confirmed that up to one thousand people were arrested as consequence of confrontation between police and protesters. On the other hand, police authorities have declared that more than two hundred policemen resulted injuries, although none of those injuries seem serious enough.

The Minister of Civic Education, Levan Rostomadze, announced his resignation at late evening, only nine days after his appointment. "I am grateful to Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze for the chance to serve the country", he declared in a short statement. "However, in the current circumstances, I am not longer confident that I will able to achieve the goals that I was tasked in these increasingly complicated and serious circumstances".

Heavenly Palace, Hwangjin

Queen Dowager Shin meets Lady Kwon in one of the courtyards of the Outer Palace.

Lady Kwon: I'm glad to see you a last time, Your Highness.

Queen Dowager Shin: I'm not going to be buried. Not yet, at least.

Lady Kwon: Surely...Excuse me, Your Highness.

Queen Dowager Shin: Don't worry. It is sad to see you leaving us. But I was in a good mood today. By the way, I love your dress. It looks gorgeous.

Lady Kwon: Thanks, Your Highness. It was a small whim.

Queen Dowager Shin: A lovely Seoyuhaeng style. The etiquette here sometimes kills me.

Lady Kwon: I understand. I hope I was helpful during my stay.

Queen Dowager Shin: You were helpful enough, do not worry. Where are you finally going?

Lady Kwon: I will be teaching at the Bukbu Royal College, Your Highness. I was offered a position in the Literature Department.

Queen Dowager Shin: Ah yes, I remember now. You do the right thing to find your own way.

Lady Kwon: I'll do my best, Your Highness.  I can only be grateful of everything I have learned here. And without access to the library and the archives, it would have been much more difficult.

Queen Dowager Shin: I'm glad it was a positive experience for both. This experience has also allowed me to  put to rest a part of my own past, even if I will continue to live and be determine by it, of course.

Lady Kwon: I know, Your Highness.

Queen Dowager Shin: I'm glad for you, indeed, but I can only envy you. Some days I feel this is nothing but a golden cage, in which the walls and bars are formed with dreadful and absurd customs and traditions.

Lady Kwon: I understand the sentiment. But there should be some compensations as well, Your Highness.

Queen Dowager Shin: There are, indeed. But very often I feel they are not worthy! You see, it is like the caste system was not fully abolished. It is just the all other castes were abolished, while behind these walls those traditions keep us as prisoners.

Lady Kwon: Certainly, that's an original way to put it, Your Highness.

Queen Dowager Shin: Yes, sometimes I'd just love to escape and leave this place. If my late husband was still alive, I would still have some additional entertainments. But all ended so fast. Meanwhile, the heads of the main families and their sons and daughters live freely in their luxury, while we continue with this charade for the sake of the state...Anyway, let me be a good host and offer you a tea before you leave.

Lady Kwon: That would be a pleasure, Your Highness.

Mktvartvelo: Brzdmtsveli Ketevan addresses the nation as protests continue

Brzdmtsveli Ketevan, Mktvartvelo's head of state, addressed the nation in a television speech. The speech, which was unexpected as it was announced about one hour before it was broadcast, focused in the current political crisis the nation is experiencing, with violent protests which have continued despite the fall of Bidzina Samkharadze's government.

There were certain expectations regarding the speech, as it had been rumoured that the Brzdmtsveli would have agreed Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze, unconfirmed by the national government itself, to declare the state emergency as violence on the streets continued. However, she did not announce such thing.

In her speech, the Brzdmstveli censored and condemned the violence by protesters at length. "There are times one needs to take two steps back to be able to advance", she argued. "But there can't never be a reason or justification for bringing chaos to your neighbors' streets, for the destruction of property, and to intimidate and cause harm to others". She also insisted that dialogue and understanding should be the way forward, in which someone saw a criticism of the new government.

It is not expected, however, according to journalists with close sources to the Office of the Brzdmtsveli, several Mktvartvelian newspapers have published, that Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze may be replaced, particularly barely two weeks after its appointment.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze has assured that the government is willing to continue to reestablish order and end the violence. "Intimidation and violence will not force our hand. We will bring solutions but not against those willing to bring chaos and death to our streets". He also called student unions and organizations behind the protests to distance themselves from violent protesters and even cooperate with the authorities to identify them.

Mktvartvelo: Another day of violence on the streets

Violence in protests have escalated as police and protesters clashed in several cities, including Azavrelia and Sachkhumi.

In the capital city of Mktvartvelo, Ktsatskuri, there were only minor clashes compared to other regions. However, a policeman resulted seriously wounded and required hospitalization, due to the wounds caused by an incendiary object which caused him serious burns. The hospital authority later confirmed that he was placed under a coma and he will remain in intense care, although they are "mildly optimistic" about his prospects.

The official social media account of one of the largest police unions published a message stating "Enough is enough. End of the restrictions which have been imposed to those able to deal with the situation".  The controversial message, which also read "vengeance" and "no leniency against urban terrorism", was deleted about eighteen minutes after being originally posted, caused a considerable uproar online, between both expressing support and harshly criticizing it.

The Ministry of Public Order and Security, in a written statement, denied that law enforcement has been pressured by any executive decision or imposition that endanger their safety or capacity to provide security to citizens.

Two students unions have condemned the violence and wished a "fast recovery" to "all those injured in the recent days" but argued that it would be unfair to blame protesters for the violence, with authorities pushing protests without properly respecting the constitutional freedom to protest. They called their members to join the protests but cautioned them against provocations and the use of violence.

Queen Hong receives Third Minister Hongju in one of the main rooms of the Queen residing quarters in the Inner Palace. Doctor Soon awaits in one of the corridors.

Third Minister Hongju: This time they did not get their way.

Queen Hong: No, they should not have even a chance to do so. What were you doing?

Third Minister Hongju: That is, of course, right. But it was not simply possible to block the process.

Queen Hong: Cousin, I sometimes feel you're completely useless. Do not even think that further efforts are not necessary. Now, leave me alone. I have issues to attend.

Third Minister Hongju: I know, of course. Excuse me, I need to talk with the Royal Secretary too.

Third Minister Hongju leaves. Doctor Soon is announced.

Doctor Soon: I pleasure to see you a second time, Your Highness.

Queen Hong: While your youth does not help, I am satisfied with your credentials and I am rather pleased that I will have a female hand now.

Doctor Soon: I'll do my best to satisfy your confidence, Your Highness.

Queen Hong: Are you already accustomed to the atmosphere?

Doctor Soon: That is difficult to say, Your Highness. I am not exactly from the plains on one hand. This is indeed a very different place. But I am certain that there won't be nothing to complain.

Queen Hong: Let's go direclty to business. What's an opinion?

Doctor Soon: I'd need some additional tests before giving my final opinion, Your Highness. I agree that some rest is required for now. In the meanwhile, replace with medication with the one you had been taking before. I will help to alleviate the pain. When we have the results, I will be able to have a clearer answer.

Queen Hong: Alright, I will wait. It just comes at an unfortunate time.

Doctor Soon: I can understand, Your Highness. My advice, however, is that any new attempt should be discouraged in the current circumstances, probably forever, I am afraid. When we have the results, I will give my final word.

Queen Hong: I assumed you would say that. As you may understand, it is something that goes way beyond the personal.

Doctor Soon: I can imagine, Your Highness. But that's my medical opinion. In your current health situation, the chances would be even smaller, and it is likely to worse your condition.

Queen Hong: Alright, alright. I need to rest.

Doctor Soon: Of course, Your Highness. If you have any issues, contact me immediately and I will be back. Hoping for a good recovery until my next visit.

Mktvartvelo: Violent erupts in Azavrelia and Martvilisi in another day of protests

Clashes between protesters and police have continued in Azavrelia and Martvilisi.

At least six students required hospitalization, while two policemen were wounded by minor burns.

The national government spokesperson has denied rumours that several ministers have argued for the use of the military if necessary if violence increases in the coming weeks. "We trust the professionalism of our law enforcement and we have enough legal instruments to assure the safety of the citizens and the protection of the public order", he argued.

Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze has declared that his will "is not going to be forced through intimidation and violence", and called the protesters to return to their homes and express their voices through conventional and constitutional methods instead of being exploited "by a violent minority aimed to take advantage of the situation to spread lawlessness and vandalism".

Juglander rider Mainio Salminen won the Gzamerovnuli Grand Prix, a one-day race in Mktvartvelo, after a long attack in the final forty kilometres of the race.

His AABL teammate Germund Strand was the faster rider from the chasing group, which arrived fifty seconds later, ending second in the race.

The race required to be stopped for fifteen minutes, following an attempt to blockade the road by protesters. The race could restart and it finished without incidents.

"We are just professionals doing our job the best way we can", rider Zurab Aburjania argued. "Sports should be left out of politics".

A spokesperson from "Vardobistve 14th Movement" has blamed the riot police for the clashes in Khashumi. Protests have restarted in more than a dozen of cities in Mktvartvelo. Besides a few isolated incidents in a pair of towns, the protests were mostly peaceful.

Students organizations have demanded the new government to open negotiations to discuss their demands and to be informed of the new education policy of the national government. The government, however, does not seem to be interested to start discussions before the end of the summer break.

If their demands are not heard, student unions have warned, protests will continue. However, the national government spokesperson has declared that the government will not accept any kind of blackmail from public disturbances.

Heavenly Palace, Hwangjin

Grand King Wonhyo receives the weekly ordinary royal audience in the Throne Hall of the Cheongung Palace. He heads the meeting, with his wife Queen Hong at his left, in which all members of the Privy Council are gathered.

Grand King Wonhyo: Was that all?

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: No, Your Grand Majesty.

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: The final point of today agenda is a petition endorsed by Governor Jin in consideration of the final veredict of the Sixth Court against subject Pyeon from Gungju.

Grand King Wonhyo: That name rings a bell. What's the issue exactly?

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: Your Grand Majesty, subject Pyeon served previously under the Ministry of Taxation and Finance before you arrived to our capital. He was recently sentenced to ten years to prison, confiscation of his personal properties, a 40-year suspension to serve in any form of state employment, extended for a 10-year for his direct relatives, in accordance to the Code of National Crimes, for his role in funding illegal activity against the Crown.

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: That's right, Your Grand Majesty. Despite the seriousness of the crimes and the fairness of the verdict, Governor Jin endorsed a petition of partial pardon given the past contribution to the state by the subject and his mere auxiliary role in the mentioned illegal activities.

Grand King Wonhyo: Ah, yes, I can remember that the Royal Secretary mentioned it a few weeks ago. I read the dossier but I did not remember the details.

Royal Secretary Hongju: That's right, Your Grand Majesty.

Grand King Wonhyo: I found it both childish and distasteful. I don't feel this is a issue worthy of expanding this session. What's your view?

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: I personally met the subject some years ago. I was as displeased as surprised when this issue came to my ears for first time some months ago. The mind of a person is, of course, always difficult to judge. It is not easy what motivated a person to act the way they did. The acts in question, they are certain as vile as banal, and they deserve our censure, as the courts decided. The Governor's endorsement, however, is not without merit. The law is fair but cold, and sometimes it is not judged correctly. After all, what moves most of the people is not rationality but mood and feeling. Sometimes, small act of clemency, even if limited, may help the people to understand easily the common sense and good sense behind the actions and policy of the state. Particularly, as we are preparing to enter in special celebrations regarding the anniversary of your coronation, Your Grand Majesty.

Queen Hong: Your good heart surprises me, Chief State Minister. Is that your final argument regarding this case?

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: If you allow me to intervene, Your Excellency...No, Your Highness. It is also worthy to mention that the Podo Festival is coming soon, and that it has been a tradition, for more than a century, that an act of clemency is granted by the Grand King on the eve of this important festival. For that reason, several cases were sent to our office to such occasion. Unfortunately, we could not conclude an unanimous agreement this year. But it seemed to the majority that such case, while unpleasant and ungrateful, could be the best option. One could say that it is better to show clemency to an idiotic criminal than to a dangerous one.

Third Minister Hongju: That's an interesting view, Your Excellency.

Queen Hong: This conversation is rather too abstract when one ignores all the details. Hasn't anyone a copy of such dossier here?

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: Naturally, Your Highness...

Queen Hong: That's right. How many pages has it?

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: It has...well...fifty-six pages, Your Highness.

Queen Hong: That would be too bad, isn't it? Certainly the last thing we need. But I'm still curious, to be honest. Couldn't you open it, let's say, on page thirty-eight?

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: Alright, Your Highness. Oh...let's me see...

Queen Hong: Why don't just start with the beginning? Like the first complete sentences.

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: Sure, Your Highness...It is just the middle of the indictment, it seems. Or rather, just quoting some of the evidences that the court...

Queen Hong: Just read it.

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: Yes, Your Highness...Here it goes: "Such it is the unpleasant situation our nation was forced by the frictions of these honourable families. One could not blame our monarch, or not completely, as he would still be required to give remedy to the illness our country is facing. If that is possible, only time will be able to say. Maybe in the current situation, we can only lament ourselves to the place our nation has been placed by some of those factions, willing to accept a minor but comfortable role in this decayed land, even if temporarily, only motivated for their lust to retain and enjoy their power, even if that meant handing over the power to a corrupted person, who inherited all the vices and none of the virtues of her father, the Grand Marshal..."

Queen Hong: Interesting. Continue.

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: "...First there was political decay, followed by economic, social, and legal decay. It was inevitable that moral decay will be followed next. And so it came. Now, the fate of our nation, of our children, was given to an incestuous viper whose own resentment and hate, a likely combined lust toward power and wealth, as well as her aims to vengeance and control our nation as it was her own kindergarten, in a move to use the mistakes and weakness of those who preceded her to build a network of..."

Queen Hong (laughing awkwardly): That's enough! Oh, the Sun and the Moon! What kind of cheap novel is that? Maybe we should feel sorry about our judges if this is the kind of literature they are forced to read and judge. Don't you find this amusing.

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: No, Your Highness.

Grand King Wohnyo: That was certainly disgusting. Let's stop this.

Queen Hong: I can not disagree. However, I must say it still amazes me that someone with the moral rectitude of Governor Jin was able to navigate, with his compromise toward justice, through that sea of fantasy and slander while balancing his sense of fairness and his knowledge of the well-being of the state. Such compromise is not easy to achieve without corrupting your own heart. In most cases, I mean.

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: I have no doubts that the latter was not the case, Your Highness. The Governor has served this country greatly and gracefully for more than twenty years after all.

Queen Hong: Indeed. It is also a pity that he has not been able to pay us a visit for quite a long time, isn't it? Besides official duties, of course, one can imagine he had many issues to attend. I heard that his third son finally married to a certain lady. A young woman who must have a brother-in-law, whose father must have a brother.

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: That's...a possibility, Your Highness.

Queen Hong: Wouldn't it be a great coincidence if that young spouse was the second cousin who was married to someone in this palace, after all?

Deputy Chief Minister Oh: That...could be in that would be the case, certainly, Your Highness...

Queen Hong: Indeed. Anyway, these cases are always complicated and I am grateful I was not fated to be a judge or governor who needs to ponder on these issues from all the required perspectives.

Grand King Wonhyo: This issue was extended for too long. Let's close it immediately.

Queen Hong: Alright. But don't you agree that it may be not always right to force the children to pay for the weight of the crimes of their parents, my Grand King?

Grand King Wonhyo (visibly annoyed): That could be certainly be the case, generally.

Queen Hong: If that's the case, why not just suspend the verdict regarding the suspension of the rights of the sons and a limited economic punishment so they retain the ability to sustain their livelihood? We wouldn't be seen as petty anyway.

Grand King Wonhyo: Alright, let's do that. We had enough.

Chief State Minister Jungjin Um: Yes, Your Grand Majesty. We will prepare the document for your signature tomorrow.

Grand King Wonhyo: The session has finished then.

Mktvartvelo: Students to restart protests, student unions announce

After a "General Assembly of Students" held in Martvilisi, several students unions and youth organizations have agreed to continue with their protests.

"Nothing has changed", a joint statement stated, "and therefore we have the duty to continue with peaceful mobilization until our voices are heard and a path toward meaningful progress and change is open. We demand the new government to follow their words with a change of attitude and proper proportionality and pluralism in their address to million of voices demanding a new era".

Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze's government had ruled out negotiations with the student representatives during the summer break. Prime Minister Gocha Mokleadze had previously announced that the government will not continued with Prime Minister Bidzina Samkharadze national education plan. Instead, a new Education Reform Act will be passed, he declared. "Meritocracy and efficiency will be the two main focus of the new education policy", he assured. But student unions seem to find those promises rather vague, or even a setback from Samkharadze's education policies.

The national government spokesperson, meanwhile, has warned that no violent protests will be tolerated. "There are not exceptions for violations to the constitutional order and the law", he insisted.

Sports: Jugland's FC Gaertianebuli acquired by Mktvartvelian businessman

FC Gaertianebuli, a football club from Albrektberg northwestern district, has been acquired financial holding after weeks of negotiations. Mktvartvelian businessman Ramaz Leseridze is the majority associate in the financial holding, and it is expected that he will personally acquired another 5% of stocks of the club.

FC Gaertianebuli, which currently plays in Jugland's First Division, the second highest football league in Juglander men's football system, has been facing financial problems due to increasing debt in the last seasons, which led then to be sanctioned by the football federation to a loss of six points in the season 2020-2021, after the club failed to pay the players salaries for more than two months. The club is well-known for being associated with ethnic Mktvartveli in Albrektberg, who has historically maken most of the club supporters.

Leseridze is not exactly someone foreign to sports. He is married to Zhuldyz Birinseli, who owns the Azavrelia FC, a football club from mainland Mktvartvelo, as well as the Vice-President of the Mktvartvelian Professional Football League.

It is not clear if Mr. Leseridze will be personally involved in the management of the club, or a new CEO will be appointed to manage the club.

Armed Forces of the Great Kingdom of Asadal

The Armed Forces of the Great Kingdom of Asadal consists in four branches (the Air Defense Force, the Central Ground Army, the Grand Royal Guard, and the Royal Corps).

The Grand King is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Great Kingdom of Asadal. The head of the Armed Forces is the Grand Marshal, the highest military rank in the country. Very often, but not always, the Grand Marshal also serves as Minister of the Army. As Grand Marshal he has direct authority over the Central Ground Army and the Air Defense Force, and operational command over the Royal Corps and the Grand Royal Guard.

For logistical reasons, the headquarters of the Air Defense Forces are found in the city of Gyeongseon. The Air Defense Forces were established in 1929, and its headed by the Supreme Commander of the Air Defense Forces.

The Central Ground Army, headed by a Chief General, is the largest military force in the Armed Forces of Asadal. Its headquarters are found in Outer Hwangjin and it is under the direct control of the Grand King, as most military appointments require the signature of the Grand King himself. The Central Ground Army, however, is focused on defense of the borders and the public order throughout the country, and it has only a minor detachment in the capital city.

The Royal Corps is a military branch tasked with the defense of Outer Hwangjin and the southern and eastern regions. They are particularly trained for deployment and fighting in mountainous terrain, as they are often deployed in such terrain in special missions if it is required. The Royal Corps were established in 1819, and it has a particular focus on counter-insurgence training since it was reformed in the 1960s. The military leadership, as well as large number of their military officers, is traditionally formed by officers from the royal family or from families derived from the original clan from which the Yun Dynasty came from.

The Grand Royal Guard is a special force unit tasked with the defense of Inner Hwangjin and the Heavenly Palace, the official residency of the Grand King and his family. The leadership of the Grand Royal Guard is directly appointed by the Grand King himself, and it is often headed by a member of the royal family.

Society and Traditions in Asadal

Caste system in Asadal

During centuries, marriage, relations between families, social connections, and occupation was determined by a hierarchical caste system. For example, Only people from the free higher castes were allowed to join the state administration, and the government and military leadership was reserved to the nobility.

There were originally six castes: high nobility, lower nobility, high commoners, free commoners, vulgar commoners or untouchables,  and slaves (until the official abolition of slavery in 1891). This social hierarchy was passed down through families, and it can dictate the professions a person could work in as well as aspects of their social lives. The caste system has officially abolished in 1959, but its influence in social relations still continue at some extent, even if the rules are not as rigid as they were in the past, and all legal discrimination about members of one caste was formally abolished in 1988.

Religion

Cheonism

Cheonism is the native religion of Asadal. It states that the world is an imanation from Cheon, the sky god, the perfect divinity which combines opposite but interconnected forces, the Taeyangsin, or Heavenly Sun, and Dalyeosin, the Divine Moon. The Heavenly Sun and the Divine Moon are not independent deities, but a reflection of Cheon itself into Cheon's own emanation, the physical world. This dual principle would determine everything that exists, both material things such the cosmos and immaterial things such as free will, thoughts, and spiritual beings like the soul or evil spirits.

Cheonism teaches that the world is a place of suffering, as the imperfect mirror of the perfect Cheon and seek spiritual liberation through practices such asceticism and meditation. Eventually, only through death can one find true liberation, the soul leaving the physical world by integrating back into Cheon. If not, the soul is condemned to repeating cycle of rebirths, until a soul has corrupted itself enough to turn into an evil spirit which will be crawl forever into the world without a chance of redemption.

Cheonism has not an organized church in a traditional sense. The clergy completes their education in monasteries and religious orders, and then start a period of pilgrimage until they are recommended or find a community where to establish themselves. However, the Temple of the Heavenly Sun and the Divine Moon operates in practice as the central leadership of the Cheonist faith, even if there is no formal communication or hierarchy with the rest of the clergy.

The Grand King of Asadal serves as the High Pointiff of the Temple of the Heavenly Sun and the Divine Moon once they are crowned as monarch. Nowadays, the High Pointiff is mostly a ceremonial role, and the Grand King does not tend to involve himself in spiritual or doctrinal matters. Still, in Cheonist doctrine, the Grand King is considered one of the embodiments, if not the main embodiment, of Cheon's will. The monarch is not, however, a reincarnation of the divine, but rather a representative of the divine principle in the human realm.

Christianity

First Christian missionaries are believed to have arrived to Asadal in the 10th century, although they failed to establish a large enough community. There were attempts by Ardian settlers to preach the Christian faith during the late medieval ages, but they were not successful and lasting Christian communities were not permanently established in the 16th century.

Christian faith, in form of a syncretic theology, successfully spread particularly between the ethnic  Ghaxong people, who mostly inhabit in the Hayanttangam region, and remains today as the largest religion in this community.

Mktvartvelo: Bidzina Samkharadze announces resignation as Prime Minister

After meeting Brzdmtsveli Ketevan, Prime Minister Bidzina Samkharadze has announced his resignation as Prime Minister.

In his announcement, Samkharadze has assured that the decision after carefully thinking about the interests of the nation, declaring that the Brzdmtsveli was the first person to know about his decision, which there is no turning back.

In his last speech as Prime Minister, he both thanked those who have been working in his administration, and he listed the legislative achievements achieved during his time as Prime Minister. "I am certain there are some which may disagree with this decision, including some of those whose opinion I gave the greatest consideration. But I am convinced that the path we started in the last year is going to be continued, with renewed strengths, sooner than later".

Bizdina Samkharadze was appointed Prime Minister in early 2022. He has led the first Liberal-leaning government in Mktvartvelo since 1997. During his time as Prime Minister several reforms were started, on the fields of social rights, parliamentary and electoral reform, or even religious legislation. However, many of those reforms faced opposition in the National Assembly, in some cases, or in the more conservative-leaning Council of State. The most recent legislative defeats, as the ongoing violent protests, have eroded the government, which led the resignation of seven ministers in the last week. However, as the National Assembly had passed this year budget, many expected that Samkharadze would be trying to lead the government at least until next year legislative election.

Deputy Prime Minister Orivegza Mgaloblishvili will immediately assume as caretaker minister. However, it is expected that a new Prime Minister will be appointed soon, once an official procedure of negotiations and nominations is started by Speaker Ramaz Kintsurashvili.

Heavenly Palace, Hwangjin

A small crowd gathers in the Cheongjeong Courtyard, in the Cheongung Palace, to celebrate the wedding between Prince Yun, the head of the Grand Royal Guard, and Noble Lady Kim.

Prince Yun and his soon-to-be wife are placed in the middle of the courtyard.

Grand King observes the ceremony, with Queen Hong a few metres on this left and Lady Officer Ko next to her.

The Chief State Minister, Grand Queen Dowager Jungjin Um, and the Royal Secretary are standing on the right side of the first row.

Queen Dowager Shin and her sister Gyuri are standing at the opposite side of the first row.

The bride relatives are standing in the second row. Between other minor staff of the palace, the young Lady Officer Myung and the experienced Lady Officer are standing in the background.

Lady Officer Myung: My third day at the Inner Court and we are here already witnessing a wedding! It is so beautiful! The bride looks so graceful.

Lady Officer Cha: Do not think that this happens very often, young lady.

Lady Officer Myung: Well, we did not live such a thing in my six years at the laundry department.

Lady Officer Cha: One can imagine, indeed.

Grand Queen Dowager Jungjin Um: I still can't get that the Yangcheon Kim would be behind this move. They are really desperate to come back.

Chief State Minister: In either case, it is going to give us some time.

Lady Officer Myung: Oh? It seems they are bringing some gifs to the groom.

Lady Officer Cha: No, you're not paying attention. It is the time where the groom prepares the tea with the sun and the moon ingredients.

Gyuri: The Prince may not be as tough as he may seem at first glance. He looks rather nervous and serious.

Queen Dowager Shin: It is rather cute, sister. And they smile sometimes, as they were promising each other to live a love fairy tale.

Queen Hong: They are ready to accept the chains of marriage with a smile.

Lady Officer Ko: You may be right, Your Highness.

Grand Queen Dowager Jungjin Um: Have you anything in mind?

Chief State Minister: No, not really. But we may receive unexpected news quite soon, much sooner than expected it seems.

Lady Officer Myung: While we are too far to really see it, I rather feel that her eyes are rather shiny, overflowing love and hope.

Lady Officer Cha: You're still a dreamer, girl. But who knows? They still make a lovely couple.

Queen Hong: Boredom is likely to be already appearing at the deepest of those eyes if one could observe close enough.

Lady Officer Ko: I am glad you're feeling more active today, Your Highness.

Grand Queen Dowager Jungjin Um: Is that really so? Are you hidding me anything?

Chief State Minister: Still soon to say. But it looks like fate has decided to remain in this palace, at least a bit more. Maybe we will have chance to play a last card.

Queen Hong: I will tell you tomorrow. By the way, is it true that the new doctor is arriving?

Lady Officer Ko: Yes, Your Highness. I heard that she will arrive tomorrow.
